1. A ~ ONE
a - un , referido a uno cualquiera, sin especificar.
one – uno. Numeral, referido a uno solo.

5 A friend of mine has come to see me.

2. AFTER ~ AFTERWARDS
after - después de (preposición); después de que (conjunción); detrás de (preposición).
afterwards - después (adverbio).

3. ALIVE ~ LIVING
alive - vivo .Se emplea como predicado, detrás de to be o de otro link verb.
living - vivo, viviente. Se usa como atributo, delante de un sustantivo.

4. ANNIVERSARY ~ BIRTHDAY
anniversary – aniversario. Por ejemplo, de boda, de nombramiento a un cargo, de acontecimientos históricos.
birthday – aniversario. Cumpleaños de una persona.

2 It's my birthday next Saturday; will you
come to my party?
3 Today is the fifteenth anniversary of this
country's independence.
4 May 15th is our wedding anniversary

announce – anunciar. Comunicar, dar a conocer..
advertise - anunciar con fines comerciales o para buscar, comprar o vender algo.

3 They will announce the names of the winners this
afternoon.
4 A man in uniform stood at the door to announce the arrival
of the guests
5 Mrs Benson advertised for servants in the newspaper last
