● The first boat was leaving at 8 in the morning, in the deck there were workers and children
who went to class to Ferrol.
● They returned to eat in Mugardos and in the afternoon they returned to Ferrol and came back
around 8 o'clock
● This was the ferry routine in 1947.

3. Marita´s story
● Marita was 19 years old. She went to Ferrol to take
her dad his lunch. He worked in Bazán.

● At 11:30 she took the ferry back to Mugardos

● When the ferry crashed, she helped people to climb
into the lifeboats and then she took a young boy
and swam to the coast with him.

● They both survived because she was a very good
swimmer.
● Marita was a heroine!!!

7. Victoria´s story
● Victoria is another survivor of the shipwreck of the ferry boat in 1947.
● She was 3 years old when she was travelling in the ferry with her aunt. She was
playing with other children in the boat when the ferry crashed into a ship.
● She survived because her aunt helped her to get into the Navy ship. She was only
a little child but she was so shocked that she never forgot that day. Her aunt also
survived.
● She couldn´t swim but she jumped into a lifeboat
