Blank Page to World Stage [Design Matters 2017] Cheryl Platz
Keynote by Cheryl Platz for Day 1 of Design Matters 2017. To book Cheryl for your next event, visit ideaplatz.com
Most designers are experts at improving upon existing experiences - but how does your process translate to a brand new product? How do you make the case for input modalities no one's ever used in your context before?
Cheryl shares some of the design processes and techniques she used to help get the Echo Look from a blue-sky idea to a tangible, validated experience in the hands of customers worldwide. You'll leave with a clearer picture of how your own skills translate to new product work - and what to expect when you're breaking new NUI (natural user interface) ground on your projects.
The slide will show you the alternative concept of design process, it might hard to understand because it's designed for lecturing but hope you will get the idea.

Why Presentation Matter. PowerPoint is installed on at least 1 billion computers but 95% of presentations still miss the mark. One great presentation can change the world, win hearts and minds, and convince people of your ideas.
In this SlideShare presentation, we've put together some helpful tips to improve your presentation designs and how to make your presentations more engaging.
Every presentation should understand its audience and convey your message clearly. Tell people why it matters to them, not only the what and how.
Because we truly believe presentations matter and every slide counts.
We hope you enjoy this SlideShare and if you need help with your presentation designs you know where you can find us.

Pitching Ideas: How to sell your ideas to othersJeroen van Geel
Learn how to convince others of your UX ideas by understanding them.
We are good in designing usable and engaging products and services. We understand the user's needs and have a toolkit with dozens of deliverables. But for some reason it remains difficult to sell an idea or concept to team members, managers or clients. After this session that problem will be solved!
Selling your ideas and convincing others is one of the most undervalued assets in our field. This ranges from convincing a colleague to use a certain design pattern to selling research to your boss and convincing a client to go for your concept. You can come up with the best ideas in the world, but if it is presented in the wrong way these ideas will die a lonely dead. This is sad, because everybody can learn how to bring a message across. The main thing is that you know what to pay attention to.
In this session I will take you on a journey through the world of presenting ideas. We will move through the heads of clients and your colleagues, learn what their thoughts and needs are. We will move to the core of your idea and into the world of psychology.

- What is design debt and why does it build up?
- How to minimise design debt building up
- How to identify and prioritise current design debt

I was invited by the Teen Business Challenge to give a presentation on creating minimum viable products. The exercise forced me to utilize objects the students would be familiar with and illustrate how prototyping has been integral in business for the last 100 years. I then lead the group in a workshop to help them create paper prototypes.

We make ineffective presentations for students, despite -- or because of -- our best intentions. But there is research about what actually works -- ways to present textual and visual information so students (and everyone) understand.
Some things never change. Some things always change. Wise marketers know the difference. This simple framework underlies this presentation - "20 Key Truths about Marketing and Technology." The full 90 minute training included research, stories, and examples to illustrate the 20 Key Truths. But these slides can help marketers understand how to ground their work in principles of human psychology and communication while keeping an eye on the trends, tastes and technology that shift with each new generation.

A website by itself doesn’t work - most of them are just brochures.
Build a website and no one shows up, SEO doesn’t really work anymore, the confusion for traffic. People going to your website and nothing happens - is the website a problem or is it traffic, which ads should I buy…? If your toolbox only has a hammer, every problem is a nail, content marketing for ‘free’ traffic...takes 6-12 months, doesn’t always work. Is it the website or is it the agency? Can’t figure out who to blame. What’s missing from this picture - The STORY, the digital strategy.

Transforming Brand Perception and Boosting Profitabilityaaryangarg12
In today's digital era, the dynamics of brand perception, consumer behavior, and profitability have been profoundly reshaped by the synergy of branding, social media, and website design. This research paper investigates the transformative power of these elements in influencing how individuals perceive brands and products and how this transformation can be harnessed to drive sales and profitability for businesses.
Through an exploration of brand psychology and consumer behavior, this study sheds light on the intricate ways in which effective branding strategies, strategic social media engagement, and user-centric website design contribute to altering consumers' perceptions. We delve into the principles that underlie successful brand transformations, examining how visual identity, messaging, and storytelling can captivate and resonate with target audiences.
Methodologically, this research employs a comprehensive approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. Real-world case studies illustrate the impact of branding, social media campaigns, and website redesigns on consumer perception, sales figures, and profitability. We assess the various metrics, including brand awareness, customer engagement, conversion rates, and revenue growth, to measure the effectiveness of these strategies.
The results underscore the pivotal role of cohesive branding, social media influence, and website usability in shaping positive brand perceptions, influencing consumer decisions, and ultimately bolstering sales and profitability. This paper provides actionable insights and strategic recommendations for businesses seeking to leverage branding, social media, and website design as potent tools to enhance their market position and financial success.
