T
he Asian games 2023 had been an in-
credible event and historic achieve-
ment for India, in which the country’s
athletes elicited their prowess and
brought home a remarkable reckon of medals.
Will India win 100 medals? The prediction
came true when the 100th mark was reached
after the women’s Kabaddi team beat Chinese
Taipei in a nail - biting final in the last tie to
clinch gold. India also touched a momentous
count of 107 medals on October 8,
2023 by winning of 28 gold, 38 sil-
vers, and 41 bronze medals and set
a new bench mark for us in Hang-
zhou, the People’s Republic of Chi-
na. It was the first time in Asian
Games history that India’s medals
tally crossed the three – figure mark.
The intact nation was thrilled that
our barely credible athletes had
brought home the highest ever total
of 107 medals, the best ever perfor-
mance in the last 60 years. The Indian contin-
gent won medals as our Prime Minister Nar-
endra Modi dreamt of having more
than 100 medals. It was incredibly
proud that the government had fa-
cilitated it and Indians saluted the
government as it made India to pro-
duce history by crossing century
mark for first time when surpassing
the previous best of 70, set at 2018
Jakarta. We became the only fourth
country after China, Japan, Repub-
lic of Korea to win 100 or more med-
als in a single edition of the Asian Games.

In 2023, India launched a ground break-
ing National Health Initiative, marking a
transformative step towards a healthier
and more resilient nation. This initiative,
a culmination of extensive planning and
collaboration between the government,
healthcare professionals, and various
stakeholders, aims to address critical
issues in the healthcare sector.
Universal Healthcare Access:
The initiative focuses on providing univer-
sal healthcare access to all citizens, irre-
spective of socio-economic status. This in-
cludes enhanced healthcare infrastructure,
affordable treatment options, and improved
access to essential medicines.
Technological Integration:
Leveraging cutting-edge technology, the
initiative incorporates telemedicine, digital
health records, and data analytics to
streamline healthcare services. This not
only improves efficiency but also ensures
better tracking of health trends and early
detection of potential outbreaks.
Focus on Preventive
Healthcare:
A significant aspect of the ini-
tiative is the emphasis on pre-
ventive healthcare measures.
Awareness campaigns, vaccina-
tion drives, and community health
programs are geared towards re-
ducing the incidence of preventable
diseases.
Mental Health Inclusion:
Recognizing the importance of mental
health, the initiative includes comprehen-
sive measures to destigmatize mental
health issues, improve accessibility to men-
tal health services, and integrate mental
health into the broader healthcare frame-
work.
International Collaboration:
India’s National Health Initiative also un-
derscores the importance of global col-
laboration. Partnerships with internation-
al organizations, sharing of best practices,
and collaborative research efforts contrib-
ute to a more robust and interconnected
global health community

n 2023, India has
certainly marked
its presence in
the global hierar-
chy with diverse and
varied milestones.
Starting with India’s
hosting of the G-20
summit this year
which has set India’s
position in the eco-
nomic realm as a
prominent partici-
pant. Furthermore,
India’s triumph in
launching Chan-

has undoubt-
edly proved
India’s scien-
tific and tech-
nological ex-
pertise. Politi-
cally, our coun-
try has passed a
reservation bill
for women in Lok
Sabha and the
state legislative
assembly, which
gives women a po-
litical identity and
uplifts them in formal forums.
Moreover, Air India’s acquisi-
tion of 470 aircraft marks the
largest-ever aircraft order in the
global aviation industry, which
is an immense stride forward
for all Indian airlines. The most await-
ed event of the year, the ICC Men’s
Cricket World Cup, was conducted in
India, and we emerged as the run-
ners-up of the tournament. This
year India shined with its cultural
prowess. The documentary ‘The
Elephant Whisperers,’ won the Os-
car for the best documentary and
the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the
movie ‘RRR’ for the Best Origi-
nal Song. To summarise, India
has shown its immense poten-
tial and capability in all aspects.
It has proved that it will never
fall short on its innovations and
social developments.

for the secondary and senior secondary students during the school

way to unleash their own power. The session also talked about four
Gods to the students 1st inspirers, 2nd role model, 3rd mentors and
4th yourself. The sessions were full of activity based like cook the
noodles, choose your spices, become a chef, taste your dish serve your
food, billing time and so on so forth. Students thoroughly enjoyed the
activities. The irony of the life that we find joy and happiness in the
small things we do, the more efforts we make the more eludes us. “We

WALKING 2023 IN INDIAN SHOES
A SHOWCASE OF ACHIEVEMENTS

I
ndia, though nowhere near the pinna-
cle of prosperity, has seen a plethora
of milestones and achievements in
2023 that bring us closer to our former
glory than ever before. It is not objectual
achievements or developments but rather
its people who have proven time and time
again the potential of this blessed country
.
Sports, for India, this year, has provided
bountiful results. Who could I be referring
to but the beloved Neeraj Chopra, who has
made all of India look up to him with hope
in their eyes and pride in their hearts.
Tokyo Olympics javelin throw champion
Neeraj Chopra made history by becoming
the first Indian to win the gold
medal at the World Athletics
Championships in Budapest
earlier in the year. The 25-year-
old came in second place in the
2023 Diamond League before
defending his title at the Hang-
zhou Asian Games. India logged
a 1-2 finish in the Asian Games
2023 men’s javelin throw compe-
tition, with Neeraj winning the
gold; He successfully defended his Asian
Games crown with a season’s best 88.88m
on his fourth attempt. This was the second
time the Indian javelin athlete won the
gold medal at the continental meet, having
previously topped the podium in Jakarta
in 2018. Mr. Chopra was nominated for the
Men’s World Athlete of the Year 2023, a
prestigious honour only 11 other athletes
from all over the world were afforded. The
winner of this esteemed award will be an-
nounced on December 11, 2023, through
social media on the World Athletics social
media platform. Neeraj Chopra’s terrific
performance in his games can no doubt
be attributed to his hard work,
resilience, and perseverance.
This is what has brought him to
great heights and will no doubt
bring him to a great many more.
Let us keep our fingers crossed
for Neeraj’s victory and for an
Indian victory

CHANDRAYAAN 3: the glory of 2023
A tapestry of triumphs in SPACE,
SPORTS, SCIENCE and DIPLOMACY
O
n the most prestigious and proud day
of august 23,2023 the world witnessed
the soft landing of Chandrayaan 3. It
has always been a moment of pride for every
citizen of India as we are the first and only
country to make a soft and flawless landing
in the south pole of the moon. The scientists
in the Indian Space and Research Organiza-
tion (ISRO) had worked day and night to create
this spectacular model of Vikram Lander and
Pragyan rover. The well planned landing of
the scientists is definitely appreciable. The
lunar South Pole is a region with water ice,
or frozen water, that could be a source of oxy-
gen, fuel and water for future moon missions
or a more permanent moon colony. Chan-
drayaan-2 successfully deployed an orbiter
but its lander and rover were destroyed in a
crash near where Chandrayaan-3 will attempt
a touchdown. Even after that the ISRO scien-
tists with perseverance went on creating the
model of Chandrayaan 3 and watching every
minute action of the lander under the super-
vision of the chairman Sreedhara Panicker
Somanath. Thanks for ISRO for creating
every Indian a nail biting experience during
the landing and making the historic touch on
the south pole of moon. The ISRO is looking
forward to creating a new chapter in India’s
space odyssey deviating the odds and become
a developed country

n 2023, India had some incredible mo-
ments that made us proud! Our space
wizards at ISRO launched a super-ad-
vanced satellite, putting us in the
global space spotlight. Our sports
champs also rocked it, winning big
on the world stage and making In-
dia shine brighter. In the world of
science, our brainy folks made
breakthroughs that turned heads
internationally – proving once
again that India’s got serious game
in tech and innovation. On the dip-
lomatic dance floor, India wasn’t
shy either. We played a crucial role in global
problem-solving, joining hands for peace-
keeping and forming powerful friendships
worldwide. But wait, there’s more!
Behind the scenes, there were un-
sung heroes driving big changes –
think game-changing social pro-

us all smile. These moments, big
and small, paint a picture of a vi-

groundbreaking year for Indian cinema sees stars rise and
recognition pour in on the global stage. 13 March 2023 was
a historic night for India at the 95th Oscars with two wins.
In a first, India won in the best documentary short film category
for ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ which is an Indian production di-
rected by Kartiki Gonsalves and produced by Guneet Monga. India
even won in the best original song category for ‘Naatu Naatu’,
which is also an Indian production from the RRR movie by MM
Keeravaani and Chandrabose. These films showcase the depth of
talent and creativity within the industry
, and their potential rec-
ognition at the Oscars is testament to the growing global recogni-
tion of Indian cinema. As the nation gears up for this prestigious
event, it is an exciting time for Indian filmmakers, actors, and
technicians who have worked tirelessly to bring their vision to life
on the silver screen. These films have pushed the boundaries of
Indian cinema, and their potential recognition at the Oscars would
be a symbolic victory for the entire country
