purposes depending on their goals. A writer may be writing
about social media such as the use of Facebook and Instagram
● not only to let us see their similarities and differences

● but also to give us knowledge about the reasons behind
creating them (cause and effect)
● or when did it actually begin (time-order).
12. Types of Video Games
Who has not played a video game? It seems
that playing video games is for all ages— not
only for children, but also for adults. Have you
ever tried to know the type of video game you
are playing? There are different types of video
games. Here are some: action, adventure,
simulation and strategy games. An action game
is where a player is to overcome a physical
challenge and he is in control of it. An adventure
game has a story to tell. It is where a player takes
on a journey where he would meet a lot of
characters and elements. A simulation game is
a type of game where the players emulate real or
fictional reality. In this game, players have the
freedom to choose whatever kind of life they
would want to live.

Korean Steamed Egg is one of the dishes
served whenever people eat in a Korean
Restaurant. The good news is you do not need to
go far to eat one! Just follow these easy steps.
First, prepare the following ingredients: four
eggs, ¼ chicken stock, salt and pepper, diced
carrots and onion leaves. Second, heat the ¼
chicken stock in a pot. Make sure that you only
use low fire. Third, beat the four eggs with a
spoon until it becomes smooth. Fourth, add the

16. When does our brain work best?
Brain is the mastermind of our body. It
is where we process every information that
we get from day to day and recall it when
needed. The brain works best if we have a
complete sleep. Studies say that we should
have at least 7-8-hour of uninterrupted
sleep at night. This helps the brain process
information and store it in long term
memory for later recall. The brain also
works best when we walk for 12 miles a day!
Walking improves our thinking skills. It helps
the blood flow bringing glucose for energy
(Medina, 2014).

18. Spread the happiness!
Lyubomirksy (2005) cited eight happiness
ideas that we can do to be happy. Do kind things.
This does not only bring happiness to the people
you helped, but also to you. Remember good things
in your life. Revisit a happy childhood memory or
recall a time you made someone happy. Be grateful
by saying ‘thank you’ to the people who helped you.
Being grateful helps us have a healthy heart! Spend
time with your loved ones. We get happy chemicals
when we bond with our family and friends. Forgive
those people who hurt you. This helps you relieve
the stress and burden your heart brings! Take time
to exercise. Our body needs physical movement for
a good blood flow. See the good things around you.
Notice the rain drops and the flowers bloom! Work
with your problems and stress. Learn how to
balance your studies and play time.

are air pollution, water pollution, and land pollution. Modern
society is also concerned about specific types of pollutants,
such as noise pollution, light pollution, and plastic pollution.
Pollution of all kinds can have negative effects on the
environment and wildlife and often impacts human health and
well-being” (“The Pollution Problem,” 2020).

24. Why do my fingers get wrinkly when I swim?
“It may seem as if your skin is absorbing extra water during a soak in the pool or
bathtub, but that's not the case. Researchers have known since the 1930s that
people with nerve damage in their fingers don't prune up in the same way,
meaning it's not just happening through osmosis, according to Scientific
American. Instead, it's caused by blood vessels below the skin that constrict,
which seems to have the evolutionary advantage of making it easier for us to pick
up wet objects. For a 2013 study published in Biology Letters, scientists found
that subjects with wrinkled fingers were faster at picking up submerged marbles
(but didn't do any better at picking up dry objects) than those with unwrinkled
fingers” (Carothers & Cutolo, 2020).

25. It is Sunday morning and I don’t have to go to school. I
decided to wake up early to take my dog out for a walk. First,
we stopped by our neighbor’s house to say hi to one of the
newborn puppies. Then, we walked to the nearest park. We saw
some children running with their pets. My dog was so excited
to play with them! After that, I got tired of running after my
dog, so I bought a lemonade to drink. Later on, my dog ran
back to me. He began to lick me on my cheeks! He seemed so
happy!

26. Due to the pandemic, a lot of things have changed in the
way we live. Today, when taking public transportation
such as train and bus, we are already expected to keep
distant with the other passengers. It is also a must for us
to wear masks and bring sanitizers when going out. When
dining, we no longer sit closer with our family and friends
at one table. Change indeed is the only constant thing in
this world.

27. What is the best defense when you are being attacked by
sharks? Dreher (2020), in her article entitled ‘’13 things you
didn’t know about shark attack,” talked about some facts
about sharks. First, shark attacks are rare unlike what we
see in movies. Second, sharks do not attack on purpose. Be
nice to them just in case you will see one! Third, the
population of sharks, sadly, is decreasing. Lastly, you can
already track them online!
