The A New Way of Life Reentry Project provides formerly incarcerated women in Los Angeles with housing, counseling, employment assistance, and legal support to help them successfully reintegrate into society. The program operates 5 homes serving 40-50 women per year. Since 1998, 75% of the over 500 women who have participated have remained sober for at least 18 months, 400 have completed parole, and 150 have been reunited with their children. The program operates under principles of dignity, treatment over punishment, community support, mentoring, and empowerment through critical analysis.
