This paper proposes an efficient scheduling framework for non-real-time polling service (NRTPS) users in IEEE 802.16 networks, addressing bandwidth allocation and scheduling to meet minimum throughput requirements while improving bandwidth utilization with acceptable delays. The framework incorporates selective repeat ARQ and adaptive modulation techniques, demonstrated through numerical simulations to balance bandwidth utilization and packet delivery delay effectively. The proposed scheduling approach offers a comprehensive solution to enhance performance for NRTPS applications, which are vital in high-speed multimedia communications.
