2. Process
I first started off with creating the theme
tune and the sound effects for my game. I
used beepbox for this. I found beepbox easy
to use and understandable. I wish that the
website would vary in different instruments
but I am happy with what I have created. For
my theme tune I have created a fast 8 bit
melody with multiple tones. For my sound
effects I have created tunes for when the
player clicks on a button and a tune for when
the player picks up a specific item. If it is a
good item that will help the player the tune
is a high tone and if the player collects an
item that will set them back in the race the
tune will go lower.
3. Process
I have started to create the assets and the
background for the main screen in the game.
I am using photoshop to do this. In this shot I
have animated a countdown and it has come
to the point where the players are starting to
race. I am happy with the animation process
and the character creation so far, however,
the race positioning on the HUD could be of
a better quality and I could do more with the
background.
4. Process
I have now started to create and animate
different parts of the game such as the pause
menu, the character selection menu and the
award screen. I am again using photoshop to do
this. During the pause menu the options
buttons are purple. When the player hovers
over one, the text will turn yellow which can be
shown in the image. When the player clicks on a
selection, the text turns green and goes to the
selected screen. In my advergame, the player
will hover over all of the selections, go into
settings and turn down the volume and then
resume the game play.
