2. Ludivine Large-Besset
• Ludivine Large-Besset is a French director that works specifically in
the artistic film production. The majority of the work that she creates,
uses the body and mirrors to tackle certain situations like social
games, images and physical sensations. One of her most successful
short films is called "drop out bodies". The video consists of one long
shot of men and women standing in a big circle in a well lit
neighborhood. The characters drop to the ground one by one in an
odd pattern with some taking others down with them. One actor is
left at the end of the film and the camera man collapses, ending the
film. The choreographed collapse is a contemporary representation of
the Macabre dance of the middle ages which is about connecting the
living and the dead.
3. Tim Burton
• Tim Burton is a 60 year old director and producer from California. He
creates dark gothic style films with whimsical characters and sets. He
has ranged from animated, stop motion and live action films. He is
most known for working on such films like Edward Scissorhands,
Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice and Planet of the Apes. He is
also currently working on a live action Dumbo for Disney. He is very
fond of working with Johnny Depp and Helena Boham Carter as they
both star in many of his projects like Edward Scissor hands, Sweeny
Todd, Corpse Bride and Dark Shadows and many more. He also has
worked on some short films including Captain Sparky VS The Flying
Saucers and Doctor of Doom.
4. Walt Disney
• Walt Disney was a film producer and entrepreneur. He was the creator of
the Walt Disney Company which is one of the most famous film companies
in the world. Walt started off creating short films and got lucky with the
short "Steam Boat Willie" which was also the premier of Mickey Mouse.
Many other short films include "Hot Dog" and "The Karnival Kid". Walt
wanted to go bigger and started with his first full length animated film
which is "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" it as a great hit with the
audience and many films followed including "Fantasia", "Dumbo" and
"Peter Pan". Walt Disney also created the theme park Disneyland in
California after his films were growing so popular. Walt Disney died in 1966,
during the construction of Walt Disney World in Florida. The last film he
worked on was "The Jungle Book".
