The document describes the process of creating a demo game and loading screens. It discusses the design of the loading screen which shows a dinosaur silhouette moving across the screen pixel by pixel. It also describes the main menu with separate buttons and a hovering effect on the play button. The game flashes every 0.18 seconds and has the character move to a dead end. Sound was added from a free sound source. Logo designs were created for different devices with dinosaurs as a teaser for future updates.
2. Process
• This is the loading screen
before the main menu.
• On the screen there is a
dinosaur going across the
screen as a Silhouette, to
give the loading screen a
minimalistic style.
• At the bottom you can
see that this moves pixel
by pixel.
3. Process
• This is the main menu.
• The buttons are made
separately so that I could
add the hovering over
effect on the ‘Play’
Button.
• Again with the hovering
over the button it is done
pixel by pixel.
4. Process
• This is the game itself.
• The game was made to
be a demo which flashes
every 0.18 seconds.
• The character moves
along the screen to find a
dead end.
• To create the character I
had to research different
styles/types of cavemen.
5. Process
• This is the Final screen for
the game.
• This just tells the player
that what they just played
was all there was for the
‘beta’.
• From the previous area it
had ‘demo’ popping up to
imply that there was only
select parts to the game.
6. Process
• This is the final edit, with
sound.
• The sound behind it is from
an anonymous person on
freesound.org which is a
royalty free sound streaming
service.
• According to maker he says
he doesn’t require
recognition unless its for
commercial use.
7.
8. Process
• These are the 4 designs for the app
logo.
• I decided to make 4 for different
areas on the mobile device and
whether its IOS or android.
• The thought process behind these
designs was that I wanted to
include dinosaurs as they are not
seen in the ‘demo game’, which
could be a good teaser for players
for future
developments/installations.
• If I were to use one for all devices
then I would use number 4 because
number 1 is in the game as the
loading screen while 4 has a better
shape than the other 2 (2/3), plus
the hollowed out version just
generally looks better.
9. Process
• This is the only piece of game art I have made. I decided to use some of
the concept art from the app logo designs as these wouldn’t use else
where so I though I’d utilize them else where.
