The document summarizes a student's 6-day process of filming and editing a video for a client project on wildlife. On the first day, the student filmed nature shots and an interview at Askham Bog, though no wildlife was captured. Over the next few days, the student edited the audio, assembled video clips, added transitions, color corrections, logos, and text. Feedback was received and the text was made more readable before sending to the client.
2. Day 1 – 12th December 2018 - Filming
• On this day me and two others went to Askham bog to film for the
client project. We filmed a lot of nature shots and recorded our
interview with the teenager that we asked to be apart of our
production. The best part of the production was getting the interview
as the interviewee went into a lot of detail with her answers so we
had a lot of footage to work with. The only thing I wished could of
happened that day was that we could of get some shots of wildlife.
The time of year we went to film was not ideal so we got a lot of
footage of nature and trees but unfortunately no wildlife which is the
topic of the video.
3. Day 2 – 13th December 2018 - editing
• On this day I started the editing process for my client project. I took
off all the audio and visual footage from the camera and audio
recorder and put it in a folder on my computer. I then went on to
premier pro and started to transfer the footage onto a new project. I
began with the audio and cutting it down in order to remove any
sudden pauses or mistakes. If any of the cuts were too sharp I would
slightly extend one of the clips in order for the audio to be smooth. If
that didn't work, I would add a cross fade to transition the two audio
clips. Near the end of the session I began to put the visual clips in a
sequence but didn’t have time to cut them down and add visual
effects.
4. Day 3 – 17th December 2018
• Today I started to work on the visual assets for the client project. I did
this by cutting the clips down to the right time, assembling them into
the right place into the video and adding transitions between the
shots.
5. Day 4 – 19th December 2018
• Today I did more visual editing for the client project. Today I added
visual editing such as blurs and color correcting to improve the quality
of the video. I also added in the group logo to the beginning of the
video, textual assets with statistics about wildlife and information
shot telling people how to get in contact with the client.
6. Day 5 – 20th December 2018
• Today I finalized the production of my video. I added royalty free
music to the background audio and tweaked certain things to make
sure the video is clean and ready too be exported. After this I
exported the project from premier pro and into a video in which I can
upload to YouTube so I can place it on my website.
7. Day 6 – 7th January 2019
• Today I got some feedback from peers and tutors to see what I need
to do before I send the video to the client. Some comments were that
that they couldn't read the text because it was too fast and the
background made hard to see. I fixed this by extending the text
duration and blurring out the background in order the audience can
see
