Pros and Cons of Attending College Essay examples
Is College Worth It? In Life today a college education is no longer an option or privilege, but rather it
is a necessity. We are raised to believe that a person needs higher education in order to succeed in life.
There is a saying, if you think education is expensive, try ignorance. You may ask is college
necessary? There are people out in the real world that have never set a foot on a college campus before
and they are doing better than others that have their master s degree. There are many views from both
sides that have a good argument. The main reason people go to college is because they were always
told you will have a better life if you go to college. Kids are pressured to feel that the have to go to
college because, it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They do not want to be looked down upon in the eyes of society so they do what they think is best.
The idea to become a productive person in society is that you must have some sort of college
education. Being a college student is seen as more respectable, rather then being a garbage man or
janitor because of the way society looks down upon these types of careers. Going to college and
receiving a degree does not guarantee that a person is going to get a job right after they graduate. It is
sometimes hard for some graduates to find a good job because there is so much competition with other
graduates as well. Sometimes they may get a job and it could be in a totally different field of what
they got their degree for. They must find a job though to pay off all the debt that an education has
given them. Many students feel that some classes are a waste of time and money because they learn
nothing about their chosen field. They have to take classes that have nothing to do with their major but
must take the class to meet the core education requirement of the college. If these students receive a
less than average grade in a class they feel is unneeded then that lowers their overall GPA. The major
reason of going to college is to get a good job. College prepares us with academic knowledge in order
to succeed in the future. Many people think that a higher education is essential to prepare a person for
their future. As

Examples Of Creon In Antigone
In the story Antigone , Sophocles shows Creon as a powerful kind ruler. Creon shows excellent
intelligent reasoning for his laws and punishments. But Creon s ego had control over him and leads
him to his own downfall. He does not understand how bad his pride has hindered within him
controlling his issues until Teiresias come and explain his prophecy but by then it is way too late for
Creon. Everything Creon has done leads him to be a truly tragic character. The character has a great
amount of tragic flaw. Majority of the time the tragic flaw is a extravagant amount of pride. The
character then goes through many major events where the character understand that things will not go
his way. Creon is truly an tragic character in the story Antigone ... Show more content on

Question: Discuss if the EPA. (European Partnership Agreement) is good or bad for Jamaica.
Be it resolved that the European Partnership Agreement is good for Jamaica. According to Ian
McDonald in a statement he made in the Gleaner dated April 23, 1997, I cannot understand why those
who governs poor countries like ours, and those who are influential in them, seem to accept so easily

I believe we should cease making speech after speech accepting that our fate, and the fate of the
world, will inevitably be decided by the operation of impersonal, uncontrolled market forces and the
sooner we accept this the better off we will be. Let us examine the matter form an even more logical
point of view. According to the Gleaner dated Wednesday September 10, 2008 in the business section,
The European Union represents a market of 490 million people, but critics of the agreement say that
regional businesses are too small to adequately exploit such large markets, and that those companies

The Aeschylus Trilogy And Sweat By Lynn Nottage
The Aeschylus Trilogy and Sweat by Lynn Nottage, though written thousands of years apart, actually
share the same underlying problems especially when it comes the the characters that drive the plot. In
both plays, there is this very prominent character trait found in most, if not all, the characters,
selfishness. These self centered characters actually create conflict simply by only thinking of
themselves. The self centered and selfish air in both time periods, whether brought up by individual
characters or even character groups, drives the plot in both the Aeschylus Trilogy and Sweat. The
mythical story of Agamemnon opens with an air of hope and fear as the very weary watchmen and
city of Argos wait for the fall of Troy, a war that has been going on for ten years. After the signal is
seen, Agamemnon s wife Clytemnestra, who has been ruling in his absence, appears from her home
and tells the city the great news, they have won the war. Agamemnon arrives home and has brought
the captured Trojan princess Cassandra, his concubine. Clytemnestra falsely welcomes him with gifts
that will lead him to his death. After also being welcomed, Cassandra, moves into a state of frenzy,
foreshadowing to Agamemnon s murder and her own. She enters the house, knowing it will lead to her
death. Thc cries of the dying Agamemnon are heard by many, when the palace is revealed,
Clytemnestra is joyfully standing over the bodies of her victims. She answers the elders charges by

Chinese Cinderella By Adeline Yen Mah
The true story of Chinese Cinderella is an autobiography written by Adeline Yen Mah, describing the
many complications she experienced in her childhood and young teenage years. Unlike most children,
Adeline struggled to live a normal life. She was often looked down upon by most of her family and
was neglected and abused in a way that was totally unacceptable. This is significantly repeated
throughout her juvenility. An important idea that recurs throughout the story Chinese Cinderella is,
unwanted and mistreated by your family and relations.
Adeline is unloved and unwanted by most of her family, with the exception of her Aunt Baba and
Grandfather YeYe. Because of her mother s sudden death after Adeline was born her siblings gave her
no kindness nor respect as they believed she was the reason their mother died. ...But then Mama died

My heart was pounding and blood was rushing to my temples and ears, beating over me in waves. A
voice inside my head kept repeating, Be careful! Be careful! This quote proves how Adeline was
worried about how she was treated when approaching Niang. Words like pounding and beating are
used to build up the sensation of nervousness and apprehension. Adeline shares her life events in order
to evoke sympathy from the reader and to inspire other unwanted children. To those who were
neglected and unloved as children, I have a particular message. In spite of what your abusers would
have you believe, please be convinced that each of you has within you something precious and unique.
Adeline believes that every child is unique and should be encouraged to do anything. She uses a wide
variety of graphic content throughout the book to capture the reader s sympathy and action towards
her. This graphic content shapes the audience s thoughts, opinions and their

Cost Allocation
Cost Allocation

Cost Allocation
The purpose of cost allocation is to identify and correctly allocate costs associated with a job, product,
or service. The main uses of cost allocation are to facilitate decision making regarding costs, justify
prices charged for products and services, cost control, and for optimal utilization of resources. There
are several methods used for cost allocation, depending on the type of product or service offer by the
company.
Variable cost allocation includes only variable manufacturing costs, such as direct materials, direct
labor, and variable manufacturing overhead. Absorption cost allocation includes manufacturing costs,
including both variable and fixed overhead as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Step method of cost allocation, allocates costs between service departments in steps, starting with
the service department that provides the most service to the other service departments. After this
allocation takes place, the next step in the process allocates costs to the department that provides the
next most service. This keeps stepping down until all costs have been allocated between service
departments (Accounting For Management, 2012).
The Reciprocal method of allocating costs takes into account all activity between both
interdepartmental service departments and operational departments. For instance, the custodial
department services both the mail room and the manufacturing department. The cost of the portion of
custodial service provided to the mailroom would be allocated directly to the mailing department, and
cost of the portion of custodial service provided to the manufacturing department would be allocated
directly to the manufacturing department. Unlike the step method that only allocates forward from the
service departments providing the most service to those providing least, the reciprocal method can
work backward. At the same time costs of the custodial department are being allocated to the mail
room (because of the mail room being cleaned), the mail room will allocate costs to the custodial
department for the mail that needs to be picked up and delivered there. Thus, reciprocal activity is

Electing A New Chief Essay
Why would you go through the trouble of electing a new chief when you can just stick with me,

sure why anyone would want to elect a new chief when you have a perfect contender right in front of

The construction of the Suez and Panama Canals greatly affected overseas trade and commerce. The
Suez Canal, which connected the Mediterranean and Red Seas though the Isthmus of Suez, had a large
impact on the world economy by greatly reducing the amount of travel time required to send goods to
different regions, The Panama Canal, which was built through the Isthmus of Panama, also had a
similar effect on commerce by connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. There were different
motivations for the building of the Panama and Suez Canals, and their construction was hindered by
challenging obstacles. The French used the idea that Egypt would flourish with the building of the
Suez Canal to motivate the Egyptians to give permission for its construction. Document 2 stated the
benefits of building the Suez Canal, which included a safer route to travel to Mecca and Medina, and
an increase in the influence that Egypt would have on the world economy. Document 5 depicted the
unification of different cultures that would have occurred from the completion of the Suez Canal. The

Alternative ending to Crime and Punishment
During the semester we have read three very influential works: Fathers and Children by Ivan
Turgenev, What is to be done? by Nikolay Chernyshevsky, and Crime and Punishment by Fyodor
Dostoevsky. All of these novels are tied together with similar ideas. However, authors interpret them
in different ways. One of the biggest ideas is about Extraordinary Man Theory . Chernyshevsky, in his
novel, tries to show that ideal world consists of communities and each community should have
ordinary folks, servile group, and extraordinary men, leaders of the community who have all the
power and can persuade the rest of the commune to follow their ideas and beliefs. ... Show more

The author showed his opinion on the structure of the society, social norms and beliefs. He expressed
his disagreement with The Extraordinary Man Theory . He told the audience that all people have
feelings and emotions and cannot rely only on logic and calculations. People cannot hurt others and go
unpunished. The ending of the novel helped to strengthen his ideas and convictions. In the end,
everyone in the novel received the deserved punishment assigned either by the law or by fate.
Raskolnikov and Svidrigailov realized that their actions were wrong and contradicted to the all social
norms. They recognized that they were not extraordinary men. Dostoevsky made this novel very
educative and filled with morality. It is great for people of all times and generations. It reveals what is

William Blake Thesis
Throughout recent decades there has been a clear shift in moral rationale with many of the practices
found within western society, particularly those involving children performing dangerous labor
intensive activities. Although child labor may seem like a thing of the past to those living in the first
world, it is well and alive around the globe. Child labor is prevalent in various developing nations
throughout Asia, Africa, and South America; where both child labor and child slavery run rampant
today. In his work The Chimney Sweeper, William Blake elucidates the experiences of young boys in
England who were sold off by their parents to work as chimney sweepers. Similarly, Sandy Tolan of

Modern society is troubled by remnants of the past that exist today, not only due the pervasive
exploitation of child labor in developing nations, but also because of the fact that child labor is
undeniably at an all time high.
The Chimney Sweeper is a poem by William Blake that attempts to shed light on the bleak and
dreadful experiences of children working as chimney sweepers. Blake integrates religion in his poems
to describe the salvation children desire while working brutal and agonizing jobs. In his poem, Blake
writes [that] thousands of sweepers... locked up in coffins of black ... by came an Angel who had a
bright key, And he opened the coffins set them all free (Blake, 11 14). The idea that a child of that era
was capable of thinking such grim dreams shows the tragic those children lived, and that these
children were hopeless. The purpose of the poem is relevant to what is occurring today in developing
countries throughout the globe. Tolan investigates the utilization of child labor in Bangladesh, a
country of 165 million in South Asia. Children are found working in Bangladeshi shipyards dissecting
steel and other metals off of decommissioned ships, often times without proper foot and hand

Basic Principles Of The Constitutional Law A Police Officer
There are different basic principles of the constitutional law a police officer, but not always a
probation officer must follow when conducting an ethical and legal search of a probationer s house.
All states grant probation and parole officers the power of arrest and search and seizure as those
powers relate to the probationers and parolees under their supervision. They do not have general
powers of arrest and search and seizure over the other people. (Fagin, 2016). When it comes, the

Rhetorical Analysis: The Glass Ceiling Hurts Business Too
In Sarah Bianchi Sand s article, she details the glass ceiling, or an unofficial boundary that prevents
women and minorities alike from reaching their highest potential. Her work is meant to persuade
readers that the glass ceiling isn t a myth, but a real and serious problem. Being the Chair and
Executive Director of the National Committee on Pay Equity, Sarah has plenty of reason for wanting
to persuade this topic. Her thesis effectively starts this process by laying out what is happening. This
theory is circulating widely among the press perhaps because it is controversial and contradicts what
has become rather boring to the media but what remains are the real life experiences of women and
people of color no real change in the wage gap and no improvement in the glass ceiling (Bianchi Sand
p.306). This thesis opens the door for Sarah to talk about and persuade her readers that the glass
ceiling is no myth. By using ethos, pathos, and logos our Author persuades her readers that the glass
ceiling is hurting business but can be raised.
Sarah Bianchi Sand began her career path as an advocate of equal pay for equal work in 1969 when
she took a job as a stewardess for United Airlines. Appalled by the inequalities she saw there, she ran
for and won a seat as president of the flight attendants union. Now Chair and Executive Director of the

How Can Resourcing and Development “Add Value” in the...
According to Ann Marie E. McSwain, Assistant Professor at Lincoln University, leadership is about
capacity: the capacity of leaders to listen and observe, to use their expertise as a starting point to
encourage dialogue between all levels of decision making, to establish processes and transparency in

about setting and not just reacting to agendas, identifying problems, and initiating change that makes
for substantial improvement rather than managing change. In the modern workplace, a good leader

Advantages Of College Tuitions
College tuitions is way too high in our country. They say that suny colleges tuitions are cheaper but it
s not they are still around $35000 to $60000 that s a lot for a student to take on. There are scholarships
that a student can apply for but if you think about it how many students are apply for it that s a big
chance that you don t get it. If you do get one it s not even enough to cover your college tuition. The
scholarship aren t for that much say if the scholarship if for 5,000 and the school that you re going to
is 35000 so a student still has to come up with 30,000 and that s a lot for a college student. A
scholarship isn t going to be enough to cover the student s college tuition. Also Granted to

Italian Renaissance but still firmly painting with Medieval Pictorial Tradition, and the use of
symbolism can also demonstrate the religious meaning of the piece. Furthermore, in the context of
Giovanni di Paolo s The Annunciation and Expulsion from Paradise, the conversation between
monetary and cultural value and the controversy of art being exhibited in its country of origin will be
discussed.
Giovanni di Paolo gained distinction in the Sienese School of painting in the Gothic style. Believed to
use a style book for reference while painting, Giovanni di Paolo was extremely influenced by Trecento
and Quattrocento Italian artists. He started by mimicking other artists like Gentile da Fabriano, but
developed his own experimentation with religious pieces later on in his life. Although he copied the
concepts in his earlier works, like the Raising of Lazarus by Duccio, his scenes were more lively,
vivid, and realistically represented. Later in his life, Giovanni became skilled in painting illuminated
manuscripts, which are recognized today because the early influences of the Italian Renaissance are
present in his depiction of naturalism, like his experimental linear perspective in The Annunciation
and Expulsion from Paradise. Like all artists in the early Italian Renaissance, Giovanni only painted
religious narratives correlating to the Catholic influences. Uniformed biblical narratives that most
could understand were sought after, so schools and monasteries taught artists and those artists were
later commissioned by Catholic churches. The lack of other means for patronage lead to strict
representation of religious art as

The Presentation Of Abdominal Pain
A COMMON PRESENTATION IN AN UNCOMMON DISEASE; RIGHT UPPER QUADRANT
PAIN INTRODUCTION The presentation of abdominal pain is a common one, it is very non specific
and can be challenging to diagnose. When abdominal pain is localized to the right upper quadrant
(RUQ), a broad range of differentials come to mind in relation to the underlying organs in that region.
These differentials are narrowed down based on other parts of the history like the onset and duration
of the pain, age, sex, associated symptoms like fever, nausea, vomiting etc, and comorbid conditions.
Right upper quadrant pain can be benign but it can also signal serious pathology. Early diagnosis is
key to preventing serious complications. This case presentation aims to highlight a presentation of
right upper quadrant abdominal pain in a 36 year old male which heralded a more sinister pathology
despite the absence of risk factors. CASE REPORT A 35 year old African American male with a past
medical history of hepatic hemangioma and borderline hypertension presented with a one week of
intermittent fevers and progressively worsening sharp right upper quadrant abdominal pain.
Associated symptoms are chills, night sweats and fatigue. He denied any recent sick contacts, recent
travel or changes in his water source. He denied weight loss, cough, nausea, vomiting, chest pain,
shortness of breath, dysuria, hematuria, headache, changes in stool, blurry vision, and no joint pain.

Why Were The Bolsheviks Successful In Seizing Power
Why were the Bolsheviks successful in seizing power? What were the forces and actions that made
them successful in seizing power in October/November 1917?
Prior to the 1917 Revolutions, there was constant unsettlement within Russia; there was a struggle for
food, a struggle for economic control and a struggle for a stable government. The February Revolution
brought an end to Tsar Nicholas II reign and emerged was a Provisional Government based on
democratic ideals. Despite the Provisional Government s success in implementing civil liberties, the
Duma kept Russia in the First World War which not only continued the depletion of natural resources,
but also heightened the discontent from citizens among all social classes. The Kulaks fought for land
ownership and fought against conscription while the nobles and aristocracy desired to re establish the
Monarchy. In October to November, the Bolsheviks Communist Party, led by Lenin, overthrew the

to defend Petrograd and its democracy. As a result from the affair, Russian citizens, especially those
from the working and middle classes, did not see a red army, but rather, they decided to put their faith

My Love Of Science
I grew up in a rough home environment, where my escape was to invest as much time as I could in
learning. My favorite type of learning was chemistry at least that s what I learned that it was called it
as I got older. My grandfather owned a small pool and spa service company and I would always want
to go to jobs with him, this is where I learned about the basics of chemistry and biology. Each time I
went on the job with him I would receive a small amount of money at the end of the day, me being the
ambitious child that I was my eyes lit up, and the journey began. My grandfather is the biggest
sponsor to my literacy in chemistry and biology. Though he knew only a small amount of information
about both of the subjects, I thought that he was an all knowing mastermind. He taught me his ways,
simple water P.H and alkaline level tests and how to interpret the meaning of the results of the tests.
Then what is the best way to address the results with which specific chemicals. Although these events
are what started the snowball effect for my love of the sciences my grandfather was only the first
sponsor of my literacy in science. In primary education, I didn t get much influence with the literacy
in sciences, I believe that the teachers didn t have the compassion about the topics that I did. It wasn t
until high school that I got back in touch with my love for science and my literacy strengthened
beyond basic chemistry and simple biology. I took my first science course in high

Incendiary Fire Analysis and Investigation
Summary of the Incident
On February 20, 2003, at 23:10 hours, the West Warwick, Rhode Island fire department was
dispatched to a structure fire at 211 Cowesett Avenue (Grosshandler, Bryner, Madrzykowski, Kuntz,
2005). The structure was the location of The Station nightclub, which contained an estimated 458
occupants, which was above the maximum allowed occupancy of 404 which was established by the
City of West Warwick (Grosshandler et al., 2005). The fire resulted in a massive loss of life as 96
people died at the scene, 3 died within days, and one person died 70 days later, bringing the death toll
to 100 persons (Grosshandler et al., 2005). The large crowd was present at the nightclub to witness a
performance of the rock band Great White , who used pyrotechnics during the performance which
directly contributed to the ignition of polyurethane foam panels that were installed in the building by
the club owners to serve as soundproofing. As the fire began to grow occupants began to panic and
immediately headed for the exits. The majority of the occupants attempted to use the front main exit
which was composed of a set of double doors, which led to a corridor, which included a single door
that exited to the outside of the building (Grosshandler et al., 2005). The exit was quickly blocked as
occupants began to stack up at the exit. The fire rapidly spread throughout the occupancy and the
structure quickly become untenable. The investigation includes a complete fire

Essay On Symbolism In Tangerine
Similar to many other novels, Tangerine, by Edward Bloor is filled with symbolism. The author uses
symbols as a more unseen way to infuse hidden messages or lessons into the story. Although it is
greatly instilled everywhere throughout the book, there is quite a bit of symbolism surrounding and
focusing on Erik Fisher. The main antagonist in this novel is Erik Fisher, Paul s older brother;. He
always gets what he wants, whether he deserves it or not. He s a your basic popular, football star;
athletic, self centered and overly praised. But, Paul is the only one who sees him as he truly is. His
parents coaches and peers perceive him as this amazing athlete, but that, by no means, defines his true
self. I think many can agree that Erik deserves complete humiliation. Not only readers believe thi9s,

well rounded student, kid and role model. Mr. Costello, his parents, his friends, his coaches, they all
see him this way. However, Paul really is one of the only ones who sees his true color; brown. Nobody
really likes brown. Paul gets the brunt of Erik, or the back of his jersey, symbolically. He sees a dirty,

The Lord Of The Covenant Essay
Our greatest example for covenant keeping is the Lord himself: For your Maker is your husband the
Lord Almighty is his name...The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed
in spirit a wife who married young, only to be rejected, says your God. For a brief moment I
abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. (Isaiah 54:5 6 New International
Version 1984)
Through the prophet, Isaiah, the Lord conveys to Israel the perseverance of the covenant between
Israel and himself, despite Israel s violation of the covenant. The Lord promises restoration to himself
through his compassion because of his love for Israel. Israel was painted as an adulteress in Hosea,
Jeremiah, Ezekiel and many other scriptures due to her pursuit of other gods, yet, like Hosea and his
prostitute bride, the Lord welcomes her back countless times because of his own faithfulness to the
covenant (Patterson, 2008). The Lord has shown since ancient times his desire for the covenant bond
of marriage to reflect his own relationship with his people. Now he shows this marriage covenant
through Christ and the New Covenant. The people of God are broadened to include Gentiles through
the Lord s covenant with Abraham (Galatians 3:6 9) and are all pledged in relationship with God
through the blood covenant of Christ s sacrifice. When the covenant is entered, nothing can sever it,
including our own actions (Romans 8:38 39). On this foundation, the Lord establishes the

DATA COLLECTION TECHNIQUES
Data collection techniques Data collection is a very essential aspect in all research studies. Normally,
inaccurate data collection methods tend to have a very big impact to the results of the study and this
eventually leads to invalid results. The data collection techniques in many cases vary along a
continuum, for instance at one end of the continuum are the quantitative methods and techniques
while of the other side are the qualitative techniques for data collection (Kuada, 2012). In both
qualitative and quantitative techniques, there are there are various methods used for data collection. In
qualitative research for instance, the various data collection techniques used include interviews,
observations, and focus group discussions among other techniques. In this case, however, the most
appropriate techniques especially in the qualitative research are focus group discussions and
interviews on the other hand.
Interviews
Focusing on interviews as a qualitative method, it comprises of structured, semi structured as well as
unstructured interviews. The structured interviews are largely verbally administered questionnaires.
Usually predetermined questions are asked, the questions have no variation, and they have no scope
especially for follow up questions

From hard work, comes success. At the beginning of the year, I did not know how I was going to be

Film Analysis of The Gods Must Be Crazy
Analysis of The Gods Must Be Crazy (Order # A2059556) In 1980 a low budget South African film
was released which over the years has not only spawned a number of sequels, but took a rather
humorous look at the cultural differences between so called primitive cultures and the modern world.
The film was called The Gods Must Be Crazy, was written and directed by South African filmmaker
Jamie Uys, and called by the New York Magazine pure play, an amiable shaggy dog story in which the
awesome wilderness serves as an adaptable prop. (Denby, 47) It told the story of a Ju/hoansi bushman
who journeyed to the end of the Earth to discard a Coke bottle; and along the way encountered the
modern world for the very first time. Modern society was presented through the eyes of a person who
had never encountered it before, and while the interaction was often portrayed as hilarious, it also
provided a interesting view of the modern world from a most unlikely source. Uys film captures the
interaction between members of two very different societies with very different sets of values. It
begins when a coke bottle is thrown out of the window of a passing airplane and lands in the village of
a group of primitive Kalahari Bushmen. Because they had never had contact with the outside world,
they had no knowledge of what the bottle was, and believed that it was a gift from their gods.
However, as they found a number of uses for this item, the Bushmen began to fight over possession

Extensible Business Reporting Language ( Xml )
Extensible Business Reporting Language, otherwise referred to as XBRL is a standard introduced, and
is now used worldwide. XBRL is based on Extensible Markup Language (XML), a widely accepted
technological standard that defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that both humans
and machines can read. (Rashty, 2013). Its main purpose is to improve the way business reporting is
presented to the public, by making reports more accurate and efficient. It is managed by a non for

being adopted worldwide due to its digital accuracy, and effectiveness. It is mandatory in the United
States and the United Kingdom, however in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because XBRL enables companies to save time on having to re key information. The system
works by an item having a certain XBRL tag that it can be identified by. This information can then be
read directly by numerous other applications, and consequently will not have to be re keyed into that
application, eliminating potential errors and reducing the time that would have otherwise been needed
to extract the information from financial statements that are filed before transferring to another
application for analysis. (Today, 2008). XBRL will now increase the efficiency of accountants and
auditors who are required to complete comparisons to different industry averages, as XBRL will
complete this automatically. Not only that, but information can be stored and produced in a manner,
such that analytical reviews and analysis can be performed much more easily. (Today, 2008). The
implementation of XBRL for companies will save both time and money, both of which are crucial in
the success of a company and business. These changes are present in both Westpac and ANZ s
financial statements. For example, Westpac s 2009 financial statement showed loan capital as being
represented under 4 different heading titles, whereas with the introduction of XBRL loan capital in
2014 was these 4 headings incorporated into one figure listed as the loan capital.

Landscapes Through The Ages By Claude Lorrain s Seaport...
Landscaping Landscapes: Exploring the Creation of Landscapes since the 17th century to the Modern
Era
From the 1600s to present day, landscapes have evolved in color and style. As the Baroque era
incorporated stories and modern landscape photography focuses on color and subject, landscape
artistry has changed as new movements of art and history occur. A proposed exhibition of landscapes
includes Claude Lorrain s Seaport with the Embarkation of the Queen of Sheba, Van Gogh s Long
Grass with Butterflies, Paul Nash s Totes Meer (Dead Sea), and Ainsley Bennett s Binary Haze. The
works could be used in order to understand of how the portrayal of landscapes has changed from the
1600s to the modern day. Through the proposed exhibition, Landscapes through the Ages, one can
follow the theme of how the historical context of different centuries has influenced the creation of
landscape art. In Claude Lorrain s Seaport with the Embarkation of the Queen of Sheba (1648),
Lorrain depicts the biblical story of the Queen of Sheba visiting King Solomon (Figure 1). Although
painted in 1648 during the Baroque era, Seaport is a unique painting for the time. Choosing to paint
landscapes over portraiture, Lorrain was considered an unconventional artist. Seen in Seaport is an
example of his atypical style through his incorporation of a classical style in the architecture of his
paintings (Langdon). Although offbeat, Lorrain still followed the pattern of incorporating a biblical

Resistance training has become one of most popular physical activities for increasing muscular

Resistance training can be done either in the gymnasium or outside the gymnasium using the weight,
barbell, dumbbell, machine exercise, fit ball or body weight using the variables that needed. When

We are raised to believe that a person needs higher education in order to succeed in life. There is a saying, if you think education is expensive, try ignorance. You may ask is college necessary? There are people out in the real world that have never set a foot on a college campus before and they are doing better than others that have their master s degree. They do not want to be looked down upon in the eyes of society so they do what they think is best. The idea to become a productive person in society is that you must have some sort of college education. Being a college student is seen as more respectable, rather then being a garbage man or janitor because of the way society looks down upon these types of careers. Going to college and receiving a degree does not guarantee that a person is going to get a job right after they graduate. It is sometimes hard for some graduates to find a good job because there is so much competition with other graduates as well. Sometimes they may get a job and it could be in a totally different field of what they got their degree for. They must find a job though to pay off all the debt that an education has given them. Many students feel that some classes are a waste of time and money because they learn nothing about their chosen field. They have to take classes that have nothing to do with their major but must take the class to meet the core education requirement of the college. If these students receive a less than average grade in a class they feel is unneeded then that lowers their overall GPA. The major reason of going to college is to get a good job. College prepares us with academic knowledge in order to succeed in the future. Many people think that a higher education is essential to prepare a person for their future. As ... According to Ian McDonald in a statement he made in the Gleaner dated April 23, 1997, I cannot understand why those who governs poor countries like ours, and those who are influential in them, seem to accept so easily the free trade cult . This is how he regards the EPA. However, before I seek to clarify and support my stance as it relates to the European Partnership Agreement, it is critical that two key terms put forward in the moot be defined. I believe we should cease making speech after speech accepting that our fate, and the fate of the world, will inevitably be decided by the operation of impersonal, uncontrolled market forces and the sooner we accept this the better off we will be. Let us examine the matter form an even more logical point of view. Caribbean countries fear that this will be exploited later by other free trade partners demanding similar concessions to those afforded Europe on market access (The Gleaner September 10, 2008). • 5. The Aeschylus Trilogy And Sweat By Lynn Nottage The Aeschylus Trilogy and Sweat by Lynn Nottage, though written thousands of years apart, actually share the same underlying problems especially when it comes the the characters that drive the plot. In both plays, there is this very prominent character trait found in most, if not all, the characters, selfishness. These self centered characters actually create conflict simply by only thinking of themselves. The self centered and selfish air in both time periods, whether brought up by individual characters or even character groups, drives the plot in both the Aeschylus Trilogy and Sweat. The mythical story of Agamemnon opens with an air of hope and fear as the very weary watchmen and city of Argos wait for the fall of Troy, a war that has been going on for ten years. After the signal is seen, Agamemnon s wife Clytemnestra, who has been ruling in his absence, appears from her home and tells the city the great news, they have won the war. Agamemnon arrives home and has brought the captured Trojan princess Cassandra, his concubine. Clytemnestra falsely welcomes him with gifts that will lead him to his death. After also being welcomed, Cassandra, moves into a state of frenzy, foreshadowing to Agamemnon s murder and her own. She enters the house, knowing it will lead to her death. Thc cries of the dying Agamemnon are heard by many, when the palace is revealed, Clytemnestra is joyfully standing over the bodies of her victims. She answers the elders charges by claiming justice ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Step method of cost allocation, allocates costs between service departments in steps, starting with the service department that provides the most service to the other service departments. After this allocation takes place, the next step in the process allocates costs to the department that provides the next most service. This keeps stepping down until all costs have been allocated between service departments (Accounting For Management, 2012). The Reciprocal method of allocating costs takes into account all activity between both interdepartmental service departments and operational departments. For instance, the custodial department services both the mail room and the manufacturing department. The cost of the portion of custodial service provided to the mailroom would be allocated directly to the mailing department, and cost of the portion of custodial service provided to the manufacturing department would be allocated directly to the manufacturing department. Unlike the step method that only allocates forward from the service departments providing the most service to those providing least, the reciprocal method can work backward. At the same time costs of the custodial department are being allocated to the mail room (because of the mail room being cleaned), the mail room will allocate costs to the custodial department for the mail that needs to be picked up and delivered there. • 21. The Anunciation And Expulsion From Paradise Analysis Giovanni di Paolo s The Annunciation and Expulsion from Paradise is currently in the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, was finished in 1435 CE, and is made of tempera on panel. This Sienese panel from the start of the Italian Renaissance is believed to be one of five from the lower part of the altarpiece. Giovanni di Paolo uses golden texture to display divinity, line to illustrate architectural perspective, and a strategic use of scale throughout the composition in order to portray the importance of the religious context. His personal artistic stylization, the experimentation of the Italian Renaissance but still firmly painting with Medieval Pictorial Tradition, and the use of symbolism can also demonstrate the religious meaning of the piece. Furthermore, in the context of Giovanni di Paolo s The Annunciation and Expulsion from Paradise, the conversation between monetary and cultural value and the controversy of art being exhibited in its country of origin will be discussed. Giovanni di Paolo gained distinction in the Sienese School of painting in the Gothic style. Believed to use a style book for reference while painting, Giovanni di Paolo was extremely influenced by Trecento and Quattrocento Italian artists. He started by mimicking other artists like Gentile da Fabriano, but developed his own experimentation with religious pieces later on in his life. Although he copied the concepts in his earlier works, like the Raising of Lazarus by Duccio, his scenes were more lively, vivid, and realistically represented. Later in his life, Giovanni became skilled in painting illuminated manuscripts, which are recognized today because the early influences of the Italian Renaissance are present in his depiction of naturalism, like his experimental linear perspective in The Annunciation and Expulsion from Paradise. Like all artists in the early Italian Renaissance, Giovanni only painted religious narratives correlating to the Catholic influences. Uniformed biblical narratives that most could understand were sought after, so schools and monasteries taught artists and those artists were later commissioned by Catholic churches. The lack of other means for patronage lead to strict representation of religious art as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. The Lord Of The Covenant Essay Our greatest example for covenant keeping is the Lord himself: For your Maker is your husband the Lord Almighty is his name...The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit a wife who married young, only to be rejected, says your God. For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. (Isaiah 54:5 6 New International Version 1984) Through the prophet, Isaiah, the Lord conveys to Israel the perseverance of the covenant between Israel and himself, despite Israel s violation of the covenant. The Lord promises restoration to himself through his compassion because of his love for Israel. Israel was painted as an adulteress in Hosea, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and many other scriptures due to her pursuit of other gods, yet, like Hosea and his prostitute bride, the Lord welcomes her back countless times because of his own faithfulness to the covenant (Patterson, 2008). The Lord has shown since ancient times his desire for the covenant bond of marriage to reflect his own relationship with his people. Now he shows this marriage covenant through Christ and the New Covenant. The people of God are broadened to include Gentiles through the Lord s covenant with Abraham (Galatians 3:6 9) and are all pledged in relationship with God through the blood covenant of Christ s sacrifice. • 29. Senior Project Reflection Essay From hard work, comes success. At the beginning of the year, I did not know how I was going to be successful when it came to Senior Project. I had multiple ideas with what I wanted to do, I was struggling to find connections, and I was even going to be a part of a completely different group. I tried one idea, that failed. I tried another idea, that failed. I thought to myself, What am I going to do??? All my ideas had one thing in common: photography. I knew for sure I wanted to use photography as a way to help others or bring awareness to a certain issue. It was not until late September when I figured everything out. I learned the value of hard work, communication, and doing something that I was passionate about. By working on a project I was passionate about, I was able to not only sustain my passion throughout the year but to also let it grow even more. Knowing that all my hard work would be benefitting animals definitely made everything easier, whether it was researching animal welfare and animal homelessness, volunteering at and working directly with animal shelters, creating bows, or advertising Bows for Paws. Not only did I feel good about myself and my project, I felt good about all the animals that would get adequate and be given a second chance at happiness. In the future, I will definitely use the skills I learned from this project. However, I believe that I could have done more to improve, such as managing my time more wisely and expanding my network. Therefore, the next time I have a longterm project, I will stick to my planner and always set goals for myself. I will set time aside and prioritize my project, rather than thinking I can just do it the next day. By being organized, especially with time, I can finish early, have time for other activities, be less stressed and get more sleep. In addition to managing my time more wisely, I can also expand my network rather than just working with one person. By doing so, I will meet more people who share the same passion as me. This can also lead to more opportunities because such ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Film Analysis of The Gods Must Be Crazy Analysis of The Gods Must Be Crazy (Order # A2059556) In 1980 a low budget South African film was released which over the years has not only spawned a number of sequels, but took a rather humorous look at the cultural differences between so called primitive cultures and the modern world. The film was called The Gods Must Be Crazy, was written and directed by South African filmmaker Jamie Uys, and called by the New York Magazine pure play, an amiable shaggy dog story in which the awesome wilderness serves as an adaptable prop. (Denby, 47) It told the story of a Ju/hoansi bushman who journeyed to the end of the Earth to discard a Coke bottle; and along the way encountered the modern world for the very first time. Modern society was presented through the eyes of a person who had never encountered it before, and while the interaction was often portrayed as hilarious, it also provided a interesting view of the modern world from a most unlikely source. Uys film captures the interaction between members of two very different societies with very different sets of values. It begins when a coke bottle is thrown out of the window of a passing airplane and lands in the village of a group of primitive Kalahari Bushmen. Because they had never had contact with the outside world, they had no knowledge of what the bottle was, and believed that it was a gift from their gods. (Today, 2008). XBRL will now increase the efficiency of accountants and auditors who are required to complete comparisons to different industry averages, as XBRL will complete this automatically. Not only that, but information can be stored and produced in a manner, such that analytical reviews and analysis can be performed much more easily. (Today, 2008). The implementation of XBRL for companies will save both time and money, both of which are crucial in the success of a company and business.
