1) The document describes a wavelet-based technique for denoising underwater signals affected by wind-driven ambient noise. It uses discrete wavelet transform to decompose the noisy signal into coefficients. 2) A threshold is calculated using the universal threshold method and applied to the coefficients to remove noise. Hard and soft thresholding are evaluated. 3) The denoised signal is then reconstructed from the modified coefficients using inverse discrete wavelet transform. The technique is shown to effectively reduce wind noise and improve the signal-to-noise ratio.
Diurnal Variability of Underwater Acoustic Noise Characteristics in Shallow W...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
The biggest challenge in the underwater communication and target locating is to reduce the effect
of underwater acoustic noise (UWAN). An experimental model is presented in this paper for the diurnal
variability of UWAN of the acoustic underwater channel in tropical shallow water. Different segments of
data are measured diurnally at various depths located in the Tanjung Balau, Johor, Malaysia. Most
applications assume that the noise is white and Gaussian. However, the UWAN is not just thermal noise
but a combination of turbulence, shipping and wind noises. Thus, it is appropriate to assume UWAN as
colored rather than white noise. Site-specific noise, especially in shallow water often contains significant
non-Gaussian components. The real-time noise segments are analyzed to determine the statistical
properties such as power spectral density (PSD), autocorrelation function and probability density function
(pdf). The results show the UWAN has a non-Gaussian pdf and is colored. Moreover, the difference in
UWAN characteristics between day and night is studied and the noise power at night is found to be more
than at the day time by around (3-8dB).
Study of tropospheric scintillation effects in Ku-band frequency for satellit...IJECEIAES
Scintillation is a rapid fluctuation of electromagnetic waves in terms of phase and amplitude due to a small-scale inconsistency in the transmission path (or paths) with time. Scintillation exists continuously throughout a day whether during raining or clear sky conditions. The raw signal data need to exclude other propagations factors that include signal fluctuations to further understand the scintillation studies. This paper presents the analysis of tropospheric scintillation data from January 2016 till December 2016 at Ku-band frequency of 12.202 GHz beacon signal. The experimental data from MEASAT 3B were collected and analyzed to see the effect of tropospheric scintillation. The elevation angle of the dish antenna is 77.45 . The highlighted objectives are to analyze the scintillation data at Ku-band, and to compare and validate the results with other scintillation models. The result shows that the stipulated scintillation analysis has higher amplitude, which is 0.73 dB compared to other scintillation analysis which has lower scintillation amplitude: 0.45 dB (Karasawa), 0.42 dB (ITU-R), 0.4 dB (Nadirah & Rafiqul), 0.42 dB (Van De Kamp), and 0.11 dB (Anthony & Mandeep).

This three-day course examines the atmospheric effects that influence the propagation characteristics of radar and communication signals at microwave and millimeter frequencies for both earth and earth-satellite scenarios. These include propagation in standard, ducting, and subrefractive atmospheres, attenuation due to the gaseous atmosphere, precipitation, and ionospheric effects. Propagation estimation techniques are given such as the Tropospheric Electromagnetic Parabolic Equation Routine (TEMPER) and Radio Physical Optics (RPO). Formulations for calculating attenuation due to the gaseous atmosphere and precipitation for terrestrial and earth-satellite scenarios employing International Telecommunication Union (ITU) models are reviewed. Case studies are presented from experimental line-of-sight, over-the-horizon, and earth-satellite communication systems. Example problems, calculation methods, and formulations are presented throughout the course for purpose of providing practical estimation tools.
Error Rate Performance of Interleaved Coded OFDM For Undersea Acoustic LinksCSCJournals
Studies on undersea acoustic communication links, set up through highly complex and inhomogeneous underwater channel using various orders of QAM and PSK based OFDM techniques, have been reported in open literature. However, their bit error rate performances still need to be improved. Coding, when combined with OFDM, helps to detect and correct errors without having the overhead of too many retransmissions, as the bandwidth is a scarce resource in undersea scenario. The technique of interleaving, which is frequently employed in digital communication and storage systems to enhance the performance of the coding schemes, can be used to improve the error rate performance of the coded OFDM. The error rate performances of interleaved convolutional and BCH coded OFDMs for undersea acoustic links for binary phase shift keying and its differential variant have been studied in this paper. It is found that at high SNR, the process of interleaving and coding offers significant improvement in the error rate performance. It is also worth mentioning the fact that interleaving improves the performance of both convolutional and BCH coded OFDM systems.

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery to monitor oil spills are some methods that have been proposed for the West African sub-region. With the increase in the number of oil exploration companies in Ghana (and her neighbors) and the rise in the coastal activities in the sub-region, there is the need for proper monitoring of the environmental impact of these socio-economic activities on the environment.Detection and near real-time information about oil spills are fundamental in reducing oil spill environmental impact. Application of Seismic Reflection Surveys to Detect Massive Sulphide Deposits...iosrjce
Seismic reflection techniques, the most widely used geophysical method for hydrocarbon exploration
has the capability to delineate and provide better images of regional structure for exploration of mineral
deposits in any geological settings. Previous tests on detection and imaging of massive sulphide ores using
seismic reflection techniques have been done mostly in crystalline environments. Application of seismic

source-receiver geometry to image these deposits within 1.5km depth range. Results from the modelling
experiment demonstrate that 2-Dimensional seismic reflections survey can be used to detect massive sulphides
at any scale. The test further indicates that geologic setting and acquisition parameters are very important for
the detection of these ore bodies. Overall, the outcomes of the results support our started objective which is to
demonstrate that seismic reflection surveys can be used to detect the presence of sediment hosted massive

Performance analysis of bio-Signal processing in ocean Environment using soft...IJECEIAES
Wireless communication has become an essential technology in our day-to-day life both in air and water medium. To monitor the health parameter of human begins, advancement techniques like internet of things is evolved. But to analyze underwater living organisms health parameters, researchers finding difficulties to do so. The reason behind is underwater channels has drawbacks like signal degradation due to multipath propagation, severe ambient noise and Attenuation by bottom and surface loss. In this paper Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) is used to perform data transfer in water medium. A sample EEG signal is generated and trained with 2 and 20 hidden layers. Simulation result showed that error free communication is achieved with 20 hidden layers at 10th iteration. The proposed algorithm is validated using a real time watermark toolbox. Two different modulation scheme was applied along with ANN. In the first scenario, the EEG signal is modulated using convolution code and decoded by Viterbi Algorithm. Multiplexing technique is applied in the second scenario. It is observed that energy level in the order of 40 dB is required for least error rate. It is also evident from simulation result that maximum of 5% CP can be maintained to attain the least Mean Square Error.
Realization of ofdm based underwater acoustic communicationeSAT Journals
Abstract Nowadays underwater communication plays a vital role in applications from commercial extends to military purposes. Present underwater communication systems involve the transmission of information in the form of sound, electromagnetic (EM), or optical waves. All these techniques has their own benefits and limitations. Acoustic communication is the most versatile and widely used technique in underwater environments because of its low attenuation compared with others. Acoustic waves are more applicable for thermally stable, deep water settings. But acoustic waves in shallow water can be adversely affected by temperature gradients, surface ambient noise, and multipath propagation due to reflection and refraction. The much slower speed of acoustic propagation in water, about 1500 m/s (meters per second), compared with that of electromagnetic and optical waves, and is another limiting factor for efficient communication and networking. Nevertheless, the currently favorable technology for underwater communication is upon acoustics. In this paper, we are planning to design a simple underwater acoustic system. We first discuss about the problems of underwater communication. Then we are designing a data transmission system in underwater and its analysis is done in the next step. An Extended Tropospheric Scintillation Model for Free Space Optical Communica...ijeei-iaes
Fluctuations caused mostly by tropospheric scintillation at the free space optical receiver end have been a major problem in the rapid development of telecommunication and the increasing demands for larger bandwidth is forcing the use of free space optical (FSO) technology. This paper examined existing tropospheric scintillation models of Karasawa, Van de Kamp model, Otung, Ortgies and ITU-R, and discovered that all of them operate at the microwave range, which limits their application in FSO laser beam technology that operates in PHz frequency-range. ITU-R model was later selected owing to its global application and modified for use in FSO communication system. The new model can serve as basis for communication engineers to use as platform in the link budgetary for planning and design of low margin systems of free space optical communication link.
Error Performance Analysis in Underwater Acoustic Noise with Non-Gaussian Dis...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
There is a high demand for underwater communication systems due to the increa se in current
social underwater activities. The assumption of Gaussian noise allows the use of Traditional
communication systems. However, the non-Gaussian nature of underwater acoustic noise (UWAN) results
in the poor performance of such systems. This study presents an experimental model for the noise of the
acoustic underwater channel in tropical shallow water at Desaru beach on the eastern shore of Johor in
Malaysia, on the South China Sea with the use of broadband hydrophones. A probability density function
of the noise amplitude distribution is proposed and its parameters defined. Furthermore, an expression of
the probability of symbol error for binary signalling is presented for the channel in order to verify the noise
effect on the performance of underwater acoustic communication binary signalling systems.
Tropospheric Scintillation with Rain Attenuation of Ku Band at Tropical RegionTELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
Tropospheric scintillation can become a significant impairment in satellite communication systems, especially in tropical regions with frequencies higher than 10 GHz, the attenuation is dramatically affecting the scintillation. This work concentrates on those aspects in equatorial Johor Bahru, Malaysia, based on a one-year Ku-band propagation measurement campaign, utilizing the equipment of Direct Broadcast Receiver (DBR) and Automatic Weather Station (AWS). This study investigates the relationship between wet scintillation and rain attenuation using experimental measurement and concentrate on the probability density function (PDF) of different scintillation parameters. From the results, it is concluded that wet scintillation intensity increases with rain attenuation. Thus, the relationship can be phrased by linear equations or power-law. The PDFs of wet scintillation intensity, adapted to a given rain attenuation level, are found lognormally distributed, leading to selection of method for determining the relation between conditional PDFs and rain attenuation.

UNDER WATER NOISE REDUCTION USING WAVELET AND SAVITZKY-GOLAYcsandit
A precise, linear indication of the depth of water in a specific part of water body is what always
required. Presently there are a wide variety of ways to produce a signal that tracks the depth of
water. The Ultrasonic signal is most commonly used for the depth estimation. This signal is
affected by various underwater noises which results in inaccurate depth estimation. The
objective of this paper is to provide noise reduction methods for underwater acoustic signal. In
present work, the signal processing is done on the data collected using TC2122 dual frequency
transducer along with the Navisound 415 echo sounder. There are two signal processing
techniques which are used: The first method is denoising algorithm based on Stationary wavelet
transform (SWT)and second method is Savitzky-Golay filter. The results are evaluated based on
the criteria of peak signal to noise ratio and 3D Surfer plots of the dam reservoir whose depth
estimation has to be done.
Incident and reflected two waves correlation with cancellous bone structureTELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
The correlation in bone microstructure for ultrasound pulse echo technique is still less accurate compared to through transmission technique. Previous works demonstrated, reflected two modes wave has significant association with bone porosity. The paper aims is to conduct simulation using pulse echo technique to examine the relationship between fast and slow waves with porosity of 2-dimensional cancellous bone models by comparing the result to through transmission technique. The “incident” and “reflected” waves were separated using bandlimited deconvolution method by estimating time threshold of fast and slow waves' transfer function. The parameters of the waves were computed, plotted versus porosity for six different thicknesses and the correlation coefficients between them were compared. The incident and reflected fast wave attenuations show marginally significant correlation with porosity for both bone models orientations. Wave propagation for parallel orientation dominated by incident and reflected fast wave, meanwhile, perpendicular orientation dominated by incident slow wave. The thickness factor affected wave amplitude but less affected the attenuation. Because of propagation loss, reflected wave shows lower correlation to porosity compared to incident wave. Hence, analyzing fast and slow waves might improve the measurement accuracy of pulse echo technique compared to using single mode wave to estimate bone quality.
Study of Absorption Loss Effects on Acoustic Wave Propagation in Shallow Wate...IJAAS Team
Efficient underwater acoustic communication and target locating systems require detailed study of acoustic wave propagation in the sea. Many investigators have studied the absorption of acoustic waves in ocean water and formulated empirical equations such as Thorp’s formula, Schulkin and Marsh model and Fisher and Simmons formula. The Fisher and Simmons formula found the effect associated with the relaxation of boric acid on absorption and provided a more detailed form of absorption coefficient which varies with frequency. However, no simulation model has made for the underwater acoustic propagation using these models. This paper reports the comparative study of acoustic wave absorption carried out by means of modeling in MATLAB. The results of simulation have been evaluated using measured data collected at Desaru beach on the eastern shore of Johor in Malaysia. The model has been used to determine sound absorption for given values of depth (D), salinity (S), temperature (T), pH, and acoustic wave transmitter frequency (f). From the results a suitable range, depth and frequency can be found to obtain best propagation link with low absorption loss.
Time-Frequency Attenuation of Swell Noise on Seismic Data from Offshore Centr...iosrjce
Diversity of noise types with different characteristics makesseparation of signal and noise a
challenging process.Swell noiseusually contaminates tracesand it is characterized by high amplitude and low
frequencies and affects only a limited band offrequencies. This work presents how FX projection filter (FXEDIT
code) processing approach was used to attenuate swell noise on dataset from a marine seismic survey
offshoreCentral Niger-Delta, Nigeria, which shows as an effective amplitude preserving and robust tool that
gives better results compared to many other conventional filtering algorithms. With this processing approach
and working side-by-side with the shot gather and the RMS windows; the results achieved are reliable and
satisfactory by giving clearer images for reservoir characterization. The level of swell noise attenuation after
this approach greatly increased the confidence to use the data for subsequent processing steps.
COMPARISON OF BER AND NUMBER OF ERRORS WITH DIFFERENT MODULATION TECHNIQUES I...Sukhvinder Singh Malik
This paper provides analysis of BER and Number of Errors for MIMO-OFDM wireless communication system by using different modulation techniques. Wireless designers constantly seek to improve the spectrum efficiency/capacity, coverage of wireless networks, and link reliability. So the performances of the wireless communication systems can be enhanced by using multiple transmit and receive antennas, which is generally referred to as the MIMO technique. Here analysis will be carried out for an OFDM wireless communication system using different modulation techniques and considering the effect and the wireless channel like AWGN, fading. Performance results will be evaluated numerically and graphically using the plots of BER versus SNR and plots of number of errors versus SNR.

Development of an FHMA-based Underwater Acoustic Communications System for Mu...Waqas Tariq
This paper describes the design of an underwater acoustic communications system for multiple underwater vehicles, based on frequency-hopping multiple-access (FHMA) and tamed spread-spectrum communications. The system makes used of the tamed spread-spectrum method, frequency hopping, 4FSK, and a rake receiver. In order to make the system more practical, the underwater channel and the effect of the number of users on the bit error ratio (BER) are also taken into account. Since the necessary proving experiments are not easily conducted in the ocean, a platform is developed that uses the sound card of a computer, combined with a sound box and microphone, to transduce energy for acoustic communications. Simulated and experimental results indicate that this system could provide reliable underwater communications between multiple underwater vehicles.

BROAD UNEXPOSED SKILLS OF TRANSGENDER ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
Since ages gender difference is always a debatable theme whether caused by nature, evolution or environment. The birth of a transgender is dreadful not only for the child but also for their parents. The pain of living in the wrong physique and treated as second class victimized citizen is outrageous and fully harboured with vicious baseless negative scruples. For so long, social exclusion had perpetuated inequality and deprivation experiencing ingrained malign stigma and besieged victims of crime or violence across their life spans. They are pushed into the murky way of life with a source of eternal disgust, bereft sexual potency and perennial fear. Although they are highly visible but very little is known about them. The common public needs to comprehend the ravaged arrogance on these insensitive souls and assist in integrating them into the mainstream by offering equal opportunity, treat with humanity and respect their dignity. Entrepreneurship in the current age is endorsing the gender fairness movement. Unstable careers and economic inadequacy had inclined one of the gender variant people called Transgender to become entrepreneurs. These tiny budding entrepreneurs resulted in economic transition by means of employment, free from the clutches of stereotype jobs, raised standard of living and handful of financial empowerment. Besides all these inhibitions, they were able to witness a platform for skill set development that ignited them to enter into entrepreneurial domain. This paper epitomizes skill sets involved in trans-entrepreneurs of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State and is a groundbreaking determination to sightsee various skills incorporated and the impact on entrepreneurship.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. Indian government has made some steps towards development of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and social in- novation, but a lot remains to be improved.
OPTIMAL RECONFIGURATION OF POWER DISTRIBUTION RADIAL NETWORK USING HYBRID MET...IAEME Publication
Distribution system is a critical link between the electric power distributor and the consumers. Most of the distribution networks commonly used by the electric utility is the radial distribution network. However in this type of network, it has technical issues such as enormous power losses which affect the quality of the supply. Nowadays, the introduction of Distributed Generation (DG) units in the system help improve and support the voltage profile of the network as well as the performance of the system components through power loss mitigation. In this study network reconfiguration was done using two meta-heuristic algorithms Particle Swarm Optimization and Gravitational Search Algorithm (PSO-GSA) to enhance power quality and voltage profile in the system when simultaneously applied with the DG units. Backward/Forward Sweep Method was used in the load flow analysis and simulated using the MATLAB program. Five cases were considered in the Reconfiguration based on the contribution of DG units. The proposed method was tested using IEEE 33 bus system. Based on the results, there was a voltage profile improvement in the system from 0.9038 p.u. to 0.9594 p.u.. The integration of DG in the network also reduced power losses from 210.98 kW to 69.3963 kW. Simulated results are drawn to show the performance of each case.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
