As our film is a crime drama, our target audience varies as there
are different types of crime dramas that fit to different type of
people - subcultures. Because our crime drama is based on a
young girl we would say that our target audience are young
people. This is because it attracts younger audience due to the
factors our film consist of e.g. the girl in our film is young and
presented to be going to a party which links to young audience.
Evaluation
I would say that our perfect target audience would be a, middle
classed 24 year old women that has a profession in a Law firm
which links to crime.
Our film would apply to this type of audience as they may be
involved in solving cases at work just like in crime dramas which
would interest them. The fact that our film opening has a women
detective and forensic it shows independence and a positive
image towards women being the oppressor which links to our
audience being middle classed and having a own profession.
Evaluation
Evaluation
It could be said that our target audience will come from people
that want some entertainment and diversion, because of their own
life problems they would like to escape and watch other peoples
lives which may be personal companionship and personal
identity.
An example of this may be a lone parent which is escaping their
life because of personal problems and satisfy themselves through
watching a crime drama on some one else.
Evaluation
I found that men like crime dramas as they prefer films to do with
death, mystery, masculinity, violence and threat. As most crime
dramas have victims and the criminal, men like to watch how the
criminal tackles the victim and the violence that is involved. This
may also link to the fact men are masculine and believe they are in
charge which is what the criminal usually sets out to be.
As a males stereotype is to be tough, rough, masculine, violent,
hard and heroic – all these stereotypes are shown in a crime
drama film which is what attracts men to tune in and be an
audience to it as they gain a thrill out of it.
Evaluation
I found that women may like crime dramas because of their own
knowledge and understanding.Women like to see how it is to be
in a working environment based on violence and solving crimes.
They also want to understand the storyline and aspire to be like
the women in the working industry (detective and forensic).
Because of the negative stereotypes on women not being
encouraged to work, we deliberately chose to have females as the
main characters to show women independence and the new
modern society being an influence to women working.

4) who would be the audience to your media

  • 2. As our film is a crime drama, our target audience varies as there are different types of crime dramas that fit to different type of people - subcultures. Because our crime drama is based on a young girl we would say that our target audience are young people. This is because it attracts younger audience due to the factors our film consist of e.g. the girl in our film is young and presented to be going to a party which links to young audience. Evaluation
  • 3. I would say that our perfect target audience would be a, middle classed 24 year old women that has a profession in a Law firm which links to crime. Our film would apply to this type of audience as they may be involved in solving cases at work just like in crime dramas which would interest them. The fact that our film opening has a women detective and forensic it shows independence and a positive image towards women being the oppressor which links to our audience being middle classed and having a own profession. Evaluation
  • 5. It could be said that our target audience will come from people that want some entertainment and diversion, because of their own life problems they would like to escape and watch other peoples lives which may be personal companionship and personal identity. An example of this may be a lone parent which is escaping their life because of personal problems and satisfy themselves through watching a crime drama on some one else. Evaluation
  • 6. I found that men like crime dramas as they prefer films to do with death, mystery, masculinity, violence and threat. As most crime dramas have victims and the criminal, men like to watch how the criminal tackles the victim and the violence that is involved. This may also link to the fact men are masculine and believe they are in charge which is what the criminal usually sets out to be. As a males stereotype is to be tough, rough, masculine, violent, hard and heroic – all these stereotypes are shown in a crime drama film which is what attracts men to tune in and be an audience to it as they gain a thrill out of it. Evaluation
  • 7. I found that women may like crime dramas because of their own knowledge and understanding.Women like to see how it is to be in a working environment based on violence and solving crimes. They also want to understand the storyline and aspire to be like the women in the working industry (detective and forensic). Because of the negative stereotypes on women not being encouraged to work, we deliberately chose to have females as the main characters to show women independence and the new modern society being an influence to women working. Evaluation
