Body Image Women and girls get a lot of pressure when it comes to weight. Almost all women and girls in U.S worry at least somewhat about their weight All of our bodies are different depending on height, bone structure and genetics.
Models It’s easy to feel not thin or toned if we don’t look like a model. We may hear men criticize our bodies We might hear adult women express dissatisfaction with their bodies.

Our Weight What are some ways that you see women around you struggling to change their weight? Would it make a difference in their lives if they were a different shape?
Anorexia and Bulimia Sometimes, mostly women, try so hard to lose weight they become dangerously sick. Anorexia: when someone doesn’t eat enough to stay healthy. Bulimia: when someone purges herself, usually by throwing up after eating, so she won’t gain weight.

Attacks on Our Bodies Are there any things that people have said or done to you to make you not like some part of your body?
Judging Other Women Have you ever made a negative comment about another woman’s body, either to her directly or to a third person? What effect do you think such comments have?
Women against Body Attacks Refrain from making negative comments about women’s bodies and speak up when others do. What might be hard about speaking up and interrupting a put-down of another woman’s body?
Body Affirmation Body attacks leave scars. We find it hard to love our bodies and feel strong and powerful in our bodies. Our bodies are beautiful just the way they are. They are the source of strength, health, and ability.
