Addiction is a medical term meaning that a person is preoccupied by thoughts of using a drug; Sometimes or often loses control when intoxicated; and relapses_that is, returns to using-after attempting to abstain from or give up drugs for good.
10 Years of Meth Use
Not all use of alcohol and other drugs is substance abuse. Not every drug user is an addict. Some drugs are used by nonaddicts in moderation as medicine, to celebrate events, or as part of traditional rituals.
