Chillingworth was out for revenge, but used a physician as his excuse to seek revenge. He was not
there to cure the sick , but make the sinner justify his actions for wronging him and Hester.
Chillingworth used his said profession to begin the process of retribution. The novel addresses
Chillingworth s tone once he speaks of revenge, His fame, his position, his life, will be in my hands.
Beware! (Hawthorne 53). Chillingworth made is very clear to Hester right off the bat that what he
wanted was vengeance. He didn t know who else wronged him in the situation, but he vowed revenge.
Hester and ,once named as the fellow sinner, Dimmesdale could have lived their lives knowing they
have sinned. Had it not have been for Chillingworth and his motives, the novel would have stayed

Social Class In The Middle Ages
The Middle Ages was a society based on well structured and well defined classes. Once you were born
into one class of the society, you belonged to that class for the rest of your life and there was little no
chances of improving your status. These classes in order from high to low were King, Nobles, Clergy
and Peasants. The Clergy were the religious people in the middle ages and the peasants were mainly
farmers to the land owned by the lord. Clergy ranked up with the higher classes while the peasants
were the lowest class. Clergy, though they weren t considered part of one of the social classes, were an
important part and had and influential role in society, and they did have a hierarchy of their own
(Newman). The class of the peasants included Freemen who were inclined to a few rights and land,
serfs were given no rights, and slaves were bought and sold. The clergy were the religious people and
the rulings of the clergy affected everyone during the Middle Ages. Following the pope, in order of
rank, there were bishops, priests, monks and nuns. The bishops were accepted in court and normally
they were given the same luxurious the nobles had. The nobles were the highest rank in the middle
ages. The priest was not as rich as the bishops but they were generally the head of the church. Monks
were often scholarly and could read and write in Latin. Monks were clean shaven, but often they
shaved a bald spot on the top of their head as a symbol of humility called a tonsure . Nuns

Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory Analysis
Although the film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was meant to entertain a young audience
with light hearted content yet it had such a consequential effect. On June 30, 1971, the movie Willy
Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was released. The film was written by Roald Dahl and directed by
Mel Stuart. The motion picture acquires several examples of parallels with the Bible. There are five
children that possessed the Golden Ticket and each child was faced with a disaster because they did
not behave or sin. Even some adults like Mr. Wonka and Grandpa Joe sin themselves. Throughout the
film, it shows the seven deadly sins gluttony, pride, sloth, greed, envy, anger, and lust.
The most well known child is Augustus Gloop who symbolizes gluttony. Within the first seen with
Gloop, the audience can view him consuming plethora amount of food. Furthermore, in the movie
Gloop and the rest of the children were warned not to drink from the chocolate river that Willy Wonka
worked tremendously on. However, Augustus Gloop does not listen and ends up falling into the
chocolate river. Gloop had several different types of candy he could pick and choose from yet decides
to go for the one he is not granted to. For this misbehavior, Gloop was sucked into the pipe, where he
was temporarily stuck. Later on, he was able to travel to the Fudge Room where he is nearly turned
into a chocolate covered strawberry, displaying the consequence of gluttony.

Side Effects Of Excessive Estrogen
Estrogen is the dominant female hormone. It is really a group of hormones, called the estrogens that
are in charge of the improvement of female auxiliary sex qualities: the advancement of breast tissue
and the reproduction of the uterine coating.
Estrogen readies the body for ovulation. Not all estrogens are made equivalent, then again. A few
estrogens are connected with an expanded danger of certain female growths, for example, breast
malignancy.
Excessive estrogen, particularly as these supposed terrible estrogens, is by all accounts a typical topic
among ladies in North America. Stress, caffeine admission, engineered estrogens in anticonception
medication pills and hormone substitution treatment and xeno estrogens from cleaning items, plastics
and beauty care products are among a percentage of the reasons for excessive levels of estrogen in the

ABC System Used by United Parcel Service (UPS) Essay
United Parcel Service (UPS) was founded in 1907 as a messenger company. It has grown into a multi
billion dollar corporation. Today UPS is a global company and one of the most admired and
recognized brands in the world. UPS has become the largest delivery package company and leading
provider of specialized transportation and logistics services in the world.
An organization costing system is a system that helps the management with the strategy planning
while the system plays an important role in providing accurate cost information about the products and
customers (Curtin, 2006). UPS utilizes the Activity Based Costing (ABC) system. ABC assumes that
activities cause costs and that cost objects create the demand for activities (Marx, ... Show more

Data must be collected, verified and entered into the system. ABC does not conform to GAAP so a
company will need two accounting books, one for internal and one for external. The data can be very
easily misinterpreted, decision making entails identifying which costing data is relevant for decisions
on hand.
UPS system is based on traditional ABC in that it takes detailed functional cost and maps it to the
products based on the activities that the products drive (ups.com). UPS is a cross functional discipline,
in that it identifies activities within a function or process, measures the cost associated with the
activity and then assigns the cost to a product. UPS responded to technology, the market and changing
times by developing new business strategies to focus on customer needs. The new change in the
business environment demands the organizations to gather the relevant data and information about the
customers, costs, procedures, services, products and activities (Danish, Hasan Abid, 2013). They
needed a better understanding of specific segments of their business. UPS operations are extremely
complex with a wide variety of service options, operating conditions and support activities (ups.com).
UPS s ABC system is unique in that it leverages our database of work measurement and package

Aristotle Moral Responsibility Essay
According to Aristotle, we are morally responsible for our actions. Through the analysis of notions
and concepts such as responsibility in terms of voluntary/involuntary actions, incontinence, and
intemperance, we can further understand Aristotle s stance, which is that we are morally responsible
for our actions, and character. I will not only be exploring Aristotle s views, but also the views of Dr.
Dian Hsieh, and Jonathan Barnes, who both reconstruct an argument for moral responsibility from
Aristotle s work. In addition, I will also contrast aspects of Aristotle s view on moral responsibility,
with Jean Paul Sartre s views on the matter as portrayed in Existentialism Is A Humanism, in an
attempt to improve upon and reveal potential problems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If this needs further proof, consider the practice of rewarding and punishing: if men weren t in control
of their behaviour, there would be no point in rewarding and punishing them. But here s a possible
objection: if I am a thoughtless or careless sort of man, then I can t effectively control my behaviour.
That is no excuse, says Aristotle, because you are responsible for having turned into that man. We
influence the development of all aspects of our personalities by how we choose to spend our time, and
what we choose to do; it is obvious that gambling produces gamblers, and military exercises produces
bravery. Although I cannot be a different sort of man just by deciding to, I remain responsible for
encouraging myself to become the sort of man I have become, just as I cannot stop the stone that I
threw at you, although I remain responsible for having thrown it. Aristotle is confident in holding bad
men responsible for their wickedness, and believes that any argument that could absolve them of their
badness would also deprive good men of their goodness.

The Transformation Of Human Development
Chapter 2 The Beginning from conception to birth illustrates that the human development begins even
at a stage of one s life that has not even formed yet. Every person starts life as a single cell, called a
zygote. (Berger, 48) The zygote contains characteristics that create universal and unique
characteristics of each human (Berger, 48) The universal characteristics that each unit of life contains
molecules that are full of information and instructions called DNA. Human development begins from
zygote to newborn in which prenatal development is divided into three categories: Germinal period,
Embryonic period, and fetal period. (Berger, 58) The Germinal Period appears begins during the first 2
weeks after conception. The zygote begins duplication and division, in which the 23 pairs of
chromosomes duplicate and divide to for new cells that also go through the same process, from one
cell duplicating into two, then four, and then eight, and continuing on. Stem cells are the first cells
processed to complete the characteristics of an individual by allowing these cells to create others.
(Berger, 58) A process called differentiation determines which cells are going to function as what and
where. For example, some cells will be sent to create and take control of the eyes. All cells have
important tasks and jobs that they are assigned. The last stages of this period uses other cells to form a
shell that will become the placenta in which it surrounds and protects the

the wrinkles in my un ironed blue shirt. Ohhh, you should tell me about it later, when you look
presentable. She insulted. Damn her. I gave a tired nod before turning my attention to Mr. Harland
who was about to begin speaking. Good morning everyone, I hope you re ready for the day. Today we

could never actually bring myself to hate her. Who could, really. She meets my intellectual level, and
we keep each other in check. I get her and she gets me, which is why we work so well together on a

Emily Dickinson s Capitalization and Punctuation
The poetry of Emily Dickinson is one of the most recognizable of the 19th century. Dickinson s poetry
stands out because of its unconventional use of capitalization and punctuation. Her poems contain
capitalized words which are not normally capitalized. Her poems are noted for the frequent use of the
dash. Literary scholars have attempted to interpret Dickinson s unconventional capitalization and
punctuation. Some believe that it was merely part of Dickinson s penmanship (Weisbuch 73). They
therefore edit Dickinson s poetry and publish them in standardized form. Others believe that the
capitalization and punctuation were a conscious effort on Dickinson s part. These scholars notice the
little nuances of Dickinson s dashes, such as whether ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Dickinson is not consistent in her capitalization (Porter 140). She does not capitalize every
single noun. As demonstrated above, the word light is not capitalized. Furthermore, Dickinson also
capitalizes words which are not nouns, as seen in lines 4 6 of He fumbles at your Soul . The word
ethereal is an adjective, but Dickinson chooses to capitalize it.
He stuns you by degrees Prepares your brittle Nature For the Ethereal Blow
The capitalized words are the key words of the poem. They add weight to the lines, tipping the balance
of the poetic rhythm. The reader is invited to ponder over their meaning and significance (Miller 59).
The capitalization gives Dickinson s poems concreteness and symbolism (Miller 58). The reader s
attention is drawn to these capitalized words. They form an image in the reader s mind. For example,
in the first example, the capitalized words are Slant, Winter, Afternoons, Heft, Cathedral, and Tunes.
These words alone evoke the image of a cold and lonely day which burdens the heart like the heavy
and mournful tones of an organ. Just words Winter Afternoons carry sensations of frigidness,
bleakness, and loneliness. Winter Afternoons set the scene and describe the mood (Porter 141). The
words Ethereal Blow strike the reader as an oxymoron. Ethereal implies something light, delicate, and

Evil And The Existence Of Evil Essay
Evil and miracles, can they both exist in our modern everyday life? Evil s existence has no doubt to be
present due to all the horrors we have heard about or witnessed. While as for miracles, the existence is
constantly questioned if they exist and what classifies as a true miracle. These concepts battle with
theism and cause a great uproar to the existence of a powerful, omnipotent, and omniscient being. The
definition of evil is the absence of good while the definition of a miracle is an unexpected, beneficial
event. These definitions have counter arguments which include the questioning off both the existence
of evil, the existence of a powerful being, and miracles. Evil no doubt has a strong presence and many
theologians try to comprehend and offer a solution to the existence of evil. Evil has two forms which
are known as the logical form of evil and the evidential form. These two forms of the problem of evil
have been distinguished in order to understand the issue of evil. The main argument to the existence of
an all good and powerful being is the existence of evil. If an omnipotent being exist evil would be
presumed to be absent in our world, however evil remains present. Evil s existence gives ground for
atheism and the belief that an all powerful being does not exist. The logical form of evil implies an
inconsistency in theism conspiring the belief of both the existence of God and evil. Statements in
which theologians believe in are: (1) God exists and is

communication tool to invite a specific population to become part of their program and reach their
ultimate mission. Although ENLACE NM and SSS TRIO websites promote the importance of higher

application found on a different tab of the website, but ENLACE addresses the community of Latino
students by explaining its initiatives throughout the page. Moreover, each community has its unique
syntax and vocabulary. The meaning of ENLACE represents the goal of the program: ENgaging

by the website, such as initiative (taking action), collaborative (working together), and united
advocacy (supporting an important cause) represent the shared values and the mission of this
discourse community. Similarly, SSS TRIO stands for Student Support Services which is part of the

Thomas Hobbes True Moral Philosophy
Thomas Hobbes states that the true doctrine of the laws of nature is a true moral philosophy. To
accurately assess this statement, the concept of a true moral philosophy needs to be understood. Once
this is understood it then needs to be compared to the laws of nature that Hobbes states in the
Leviathan. After comparison we can then either affirm or deny Hobbes statement that the laws of
nature create the foundation for a true moral philosophy. Hobbes unquestionably creates a moral
philosophy, but he falls short in the creation of a true moral philosophy, where true would mean being
applicable in all cases. He falls short because the concept of a true moral philosophy doesn t exist in
practice. This paper will show how morality changes based ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Most would say that Hobbes creates a guideline that is basic enough to be followed by all cultures that
are capable to reason, but differences arise in the details of what Hobbes states and for this reason his
philosophy cannot be adopted. When looking at his law of nature that states that people must stay
away from making signs that display hatred towards people, this can be interpreted to him saying that
we should never protest. By following his moral philosophy we would be giving away our right to
protest and fight for peace, which is directly against his own belief system, one that states we must
move towards the path that allows us to find peace. Hobbes would respond to this statement by saying
that if his laws of nature are adopted correctly and we have given up our rights to a sovereign
government they will be taking care of us in a manner that we would never need to protest. Where his
logic falls is in the details, and the fact that we have multiple sovereign nations that are all individually
fighting for peace, not working together. So if we have a protest in downtown Minneapolis focused
against another country, this should be perfectly moral, but according to Hobbes it would not

Ipo And Secondary Stock Market
The stock market provided companies the right to issued and traded stock through exchange or over
the counter market. A stock is a portion of the ownership of a corporation. Some examples of stock
market in the US are: NASDAQ, NYSE, NYMEX. Other stock markets around the world: LSE
(England), MSE (Canada), HKEX (Hong Kong), etc. Every company needs to raise money, so usually
companies borrow it from somebody like other companies and banks, or they can selling part of the
company, which is known as issuing stock. There are two main ways to issue stocks: IPO and
secondary offering. IPO, stands for initial public offering, is the first sale of stock by a private
company to to the public. Through this process, a private company transform into a public company.
This leads us to the secondary offering. Secondary offering is the sale of new stocks to the public from
a company that has already made its IPO. We know the reason companies want to issue stocks, but
why do people want to buy stock? The main reason for people to invest in stocks is for capital
appreciation or to maximize their own wealth. They want to increase their money value over times. To
do that, they will try to buy stocks at a low price and sell it at higher price at some point in the future.
The investors determined the value of stocks by the following: P/E ratio and PEG ratio. P/E ratio
stands for Price/Earning ratio , the higher the P/E ratio, the more earning investors will be expected to

was to venture into the wild. This want is also fed by the writings of his favorite authors including

Character And Suffering Aspects Of The Play Oedipus Rex
Oedipus Rex is a play that works on extremes. First of all, Oedipus, the protagonist of the play
inadvertently kills father, Laius and performs the act of incest with his mother Jocasta. He lives in
ignorance until his deeds necessitates consequences which is when Thebes is in turmoil. The tension
that is built throughout the play goes through a cathartic moment when Oedipus goes on a self
imposed exile. Aristotle uses this play to show how it meets the requirements of being an ideal
triagedy. Aristotle, provides many requirements, but for the purpose of this essay I will be focusing on
the plot, character and suffering aspects of the play. Aristotle asserts that in a tragedy that the plot must
contain a certain magnitude is necessary, and a magnitude which may be easily embraced in one view
. In essence, what Aristotle is stating is that there must be an intensity in a plot, a universal truth which
readers can relate or resonate to. One of which is man s search for truth. Upon meeting Odysseus

to him, because it does not pertain to him. Oedipus whose thirst for knowledge causes him to discover
his misdeeds does provide a commendable moral. On one hand, it shows

Difference Between Slavs And Italian Immigrants
Slavs and Italians, being the most predominant immigrants during the late 1800 s, faced a series of
appalling living conditions. For instance, Slavs who formed families and lived in the company built

Compare And Contrast My Mother In Milan And Italy
Flashback Five years ago, I decided to take a vacation to visit my mother in Milan, Italy. I thought the
mother I once knew would always be but I was wrong. People change over the years and now, I
believe we change every day. We may not change dramatically but it s the smallest details and
characteristics that make up a personality. Family matter, financial problems and entertainment were
things I encountered in my trip. Family matters was a problem for me because I haven t seen my
mother in years. I really thought she was going to be the same sweet, caring, and loving mother she
once was. After three days of my arrival, my mother began arguing and screaming at me for no reason
but I tried not to talk back to her since I m a short tempered kind of person. I decided to ignore what
she said but that only made things worse for me. It reached to the point that I decided to stay with my
older cousin because I couldn t stand her yelling at me anymore.

There were so many rollercoasters and water rides. I remember riding in the blue tornado with my
cousin, cousin s husband nieces, it was astonishing when I got out of the ride, I was wet from head to

cousin were always busy with work, they both equally didn t really have much time for me. She was
supposed to give me a tour or at least show me around. We discussed about going to Rome, Sicily
Venice but she lied to me, I didn t get to see any of those places and this was my first trip to Europe. It

Crooks Isolation
The novella Of mice and men takes place in salinas valley, California during the Great Depression . At
this time work was scarce which caused many men to work as farm hands. Steinbeck illustrates these
migrant workers well using two male characters, George and Lennie. Who begin work at a farm,
where they meet who also are isolated. Although George, Crooks, and Curley s wife are all isolated,
the each try to make a connection with others: however, tragically in the end their attempts are
meaningless.
Although George traveled with Lennie throughout his life he is not able to call him a friend more than
a child. Due to mental disabilities and the death of his Aunt Clara, George has taken the role of
caregiver towards Lennie because he knows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Born of African American descent, his isolation is only worsened from his childhood where he was the
only black child playing in a group of white children. Crooks father didn t like that he hung around a
bunch of white children, however Crooks being so young he didn t know about the racism around him.
When he is speaking to lennie in the barn, he tells him that, A guy needs somebody to be near him. he

with you. I tell ya, he cried, i tell ya a guy gets too lonely an he gets sick. (72 73). This quote from
Crooks explains how crook feels, and has felt for most of his life. Crook explains that everyone just
needs someone to be with throughout their life, growing up with racism in the world has made Crooks
believe that he can t make a connection to anyone ultimately leaving him alone at the farm for the rest
of his life.
Curley s wife, the only woman to be introduced in person in this novella, is not especially a main
character, only having a few lines in the book however she does act as a reference to the common
theme of isolation happening all over the world. Near the ending pages of the book, when she appears
in the barn with Lennie she says to him why can t i talk to you? I get awful lonely. (86). Curley s wife
admits that she gets very lonely at times, being stuck in the house most of

Learning A New Language Essay
In life, I have gone through challenges that have taught me new things. In recent years, I have been
learning to understand a new language: Korean. Korean is an Asian language that is spoken in Korea.
It has different dialects such as the Gyeongsang dialect, Jeolla dialect, Chungcheong dialect, Gyeonggi
dialect, Chejuan dialect, Hamgyong dialect, Hwanghae dialect, and the standard Korean. Learning this
new language and its dialects were very difficult for me because not many people know how to speak
Korean in the region where I live. Although this does cause a minor inconvenience towards my
education, I still strive to perfect and enhance the current skill that I ve taught myself. As a child, I was
taught by my parents how to speak Spanish, as do most other children that make up my school s
population. Since I was only taught Spanish for the first few years of my life, I had to learn English in
my primary school years through my teacher. Learning the new language was not as hard as I had
expected because I would frequently hear it when my mother would talk to her friends. Therefore,
learning English came naturally, I was not forced. Up until recently, I have only understood English
and Spanish, so I decided to get myself busy and start learning a new language, Korean. I was very
motivated to learn Korean because I started watching Korean dramas and I wanted to read a book in
Korean. When I told my mom about my plan to learn Korean, she motivated me quite a lot that I felt

and died on June 8, 1845 in Nashville, Tennessee. Jackson s parents Andrew and Elizabeth Hutchinson
Jackson were Presyberitains, Scots Irish settlers whom in 1765 emigrated from Ireland. Andrew s
birthplace is deduced to have been at one of his uncles houses in the Waxhaw s area between North
Carolina and South Carolina, his exact whereabouts is unknown. Jackson s mother emigrated across

In September 1787, after three years of studying law, Jackson was admitted to the North Carolina Bar

income, he also worked in small town general stores. While living in North Carolina, Jackson gained a
reputation for being charismatic, wild, and ambitious. (The Jackson Family,

Donelson in 1794. Rachel had been previously married to Lewis Robards on March 1, 1785. In 1790
she was living an unhappy marriage because of Lewis unreasonable jealousy and completely departed
from him. She then moved back with her mother to Nashville, Tennessee where she had already met
Andrew in November of 1788. They got married in 1791 but she discovered she wasn t actually
divorced so they got remarried in 1794. On December 22, 1828, two months before Jackson s

Crown Of Thorns Starfish Essay
The Crown of Thorns Starfish robot (COTSbot) developed by the Queensland University of
Technology will kill the crown of thorns starfish (COTS) which is responsible for destroying about
50% of Australia s Great Barrier Reef, Discovery News reports. COTSbot, which operates
autonomously, recently performed well on trial test and its creators plan to deploy it in December.
Until then, the robot needs to be tested on the reef. HOW IT DETECTS THE PREY In an interview
with the BBC, COTSbot researcher Matthew Dunbabin explained how the robot operates, and how it
detects starfish. The core of the detection is a state of the art computer vision and machine learning
system, Dunbabin said. This system has been trained to recognise COTS [crown of thorns ... Show

One of the chief tasks of programming the robot was giving it the ability to identify COTS as separate
from other sea life and strike it accordingly. During a single session at sea, the COTSbot can give out
200 of the poisonous injections. Its starfish killing capability has led the AAU to call it a mechanical
hitman . In an interview with the Australian news agency, Dunbabin said It will never out compete a
human diver in terms of sheer numbers of injections but it will be more persistent . WHY THE
ROBOT WAS MADE Overpopulation by any species can have negative effects on any ecosystem, and
an explosion in the starfish population led to the species eating away at the Great Barrier Reef. And as
the COTSbot s university website says, the movement of nutrients to sea from land in the area since
the 1960s has accelerated outbreaks of COTS to the detriment of the reef. According to Popular
Science, Dunbabin began work on COTSbot ten years ago. Back then, however, the best usable poison
known to them required 20 injections to kill a single starfish. Since then, they ve discovered that using
bile (which the robot currently uses) injections is a much more efficient method of killing them.

Optimization Technique for Feature Selection and Classification Using Support Vector Machine
Abstract Classification problems often have a large number of features in the data sets, but only some
of them are useful for classification. Data Mining Performance gets reduced by Irrelevant and
redundant features. Feature selection aims to choose a small number of relevant features to achieve
similar or even better classification performance than using all features. It has two main objectives are
maximizing the classification performance and minimizing the number of features. Moreover, the
existing feature selection algorithms treat the task as a single objective problem. Selecting attribute is
done by the combination of attribute evaluator and search method using WEKA Machine Learning
Tool. We compare SVM classification algorithm to automatically classify the data using selected
features with different standard dataset.

Today, nearly 57 million Americans receive benefits from nutrition assistance programs such as SNAP

staples as well as prepackaged foods. The 9 million WIC beneficiaries however, are limited to the
types of products they can purchase to only food staples. There is a new bill being constructed for the
approval or denial of Congress that will alter the current US Farm Bill. This new bill will restrict the
purchases of SNAP beneficiaries to food staples only in addition to adding white potatoes to the list of
foods WIC recipients can purchase. These changes will have an impact on the price and quantity of

Therefore, those who receive SNAP benefits can only buy food staples such as wheat. Since there will
be approximately 48 million Americans that will only be allowed to purchase food staples, such as
wheat, the domestic demand of this commodity will increase. However, with the application of this
bill the supply of wheat exports will go down in the long run causing an increase in price and a
decrease in quantity, as shown in figure 1.04. However, in the short run the demand for exported
wheat will decrease provoking an increase in both price and quantity, also shown in figure 1.04.
Accordingly, displaying how the modification of the US Farm Bill will affect the price and quantity of

Advantages Of Indian Reservation System
There arrives a time when almost everything overstays its welcome and needs changes to survive.
India s reservation system is one of those systems which has overstayed its due and has been a failure
in meeting its initial objectives. It was introduced to erase the caste discrimination and the divisions in
the Indian society. What it has done is that it has etched these caste lines even deeper into the society
setting up the general castes against the lower castes. The reservation system was thought to promote
the weaker and the backward classes but it ended up making them tools of vote bank politics. The
reservation system of India has not been successful in eradicating as well as introducing all what it
stood for at the time of its introduction.
The Mandal Commission was introduced in 1979 to identify the socially backward classes and to set
up reservation seats to eliminate caste discrimination in the country. It used social, economic and
education factors to decide on the backwardness of the classes. But if we look at the present scenario,
reservations are determined on the basis of solely caste and nothing else. The OBCs, also called the

there has been an increase in the number by a significant margin. In the political agenda, women

this being applied in the national parliaments as well. All of this implies that some backward classes

The Advantages Of Scandium
1 INTRODUCTION
Scandium exists in nature in its oxide system, and blots to pink or yellow. It is very hard to reduce to
its pure elemental state. In fact, it was not insulated in pure form until 1937 and the first batter of pure
elemental scandium metal was not produced until 1960. Scandium in oxide form is stated to as
Scandia, or of course scandium oxide, and the chemical method is Sc2O3 [1]. Scandium, a unique

Scandium reinforced aluminum alloys suggestion design engineers several significant advantages over
other high strength aluminum alloys, containing Inhibition of recrystallization. Remarkably, scandium
increases the recrystallization temperature of aluminum alloys to above 600°C, well above the
temperature range of heat treatable aluminum alloys. It has been perceived that the addition of
scandium with zirconium is more effective than the addition of scandium alone. Small add ons of
scandium in the range of 0.2 0.6 wt. % take about a high specific strengthening effect. Scandium
provides the highest addition of strengthening per atom percent of any alloying element when added to
aluminum. Al Mg Sc alloys are adept of developing strength and fracture toughness similar to that of

Rape, Violence, And Feminist Networks
There has been a lot of discussion of rape within sociologists, criminologists, and feminist networks.
In my own words, rape is someone engaging with someone else sexually without their consent. Rape
is not strictly vaginal penetration, nor an exclusive heterosexual only act. If two people are in a
relationship or married, there is still no justification to the perpetrator for their act. In the 21st century,
although rape crimes have dropped 24.1% from 2001 to 2010, but not all rapes are reported (Eitzen,
Zinn, Smith, 2010). Curtis (1997) reported that 42% of rape victims do not tell anyone of their
assaults. There may be a number of reasons why victims don t speak out. Victims of rape typically fear
their own safety and lives if they speak out on it. Men who are victims typically don t report rapes
because it s considered demasculizing to their gender. Rape victims are traumatized for life, they live
with the burden, as their perpetrators walk away free (Curtis, 1997). NPR s Rachel Martin interviewed
author, Jon Krakauer, and they discussed Krakauer s new book on the issue of acquaintance rape.
Curtis (1997) defines acquaintance rape in the situation that the victim knows their assaulter. With the
main subject being acquaintance rape, Krakauer s book focuses on this college town, Missoula, in
Montana. Krakauer tells Martin that 230 rapes have occurred in Missoula, without prosecution (NPR,
2015). From there, Krakauer talks about one of those cases.

  • 3. Social Class In The Middle Ages The Middle Ages was a society based on well structured and well defined classes. Once you were born into one class of the society, you belonged to that class for the rest of your life and there was little no chances of improving your status. These classes in order from high to low were King, Nobles, Clergy and Peasants. The Clergy were the religious people in the middle ages and the peasants were mainly farmers to the land owned by the lord. Clergy ranked up with the higher classes while the peasants were the lowest class. Clergy, though they weren t considered part of one of the social classes, were an important part and had and influential role in society, and they did have a hierarchy of their own (Newman). The class of the peasants included Freemen who were inclined to a few rights and land, serfs were given no rights, and slaves were bought and sold. The clergy were the religious people and the rulings of the clergy affected everyone during the Middle Ages. Following the pope, in order of rank, there were bishops, priests, monks and nuns. The bishops were accepted in court and normally they were given the same luxurious the nobles had. The nobles were the highest rank in the middle ages. The priest was not as rich as the bishops but they were generally the head of the church. Monks were often scholarly and could read and write in Latin. Monks were clean shaven, but often they shaved a bald spot on the top of their head as a symbol of humility called a tonsure . Nuns ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory Analysis Although the film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was meant to entertain a young audience with light hearted content yet it had such a consequential effect. On June 30, 1971, the movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was released. The film was written by Roald Dahl and directed by Mel Stuart. The motion picture acquires several examples of parallels with the Bible. There are five children that possessed the Golden Ticket and each child was faced with a disaster because they did not behave or sin. Even some adults like Mr. Wonka and Grandpa Joe sin themselves. Throughout the film, it shows the seven deadly sins gluttony, pride, sloth, greed, envy, anger, and lust. The most well known child is Augustus Gloop who symbolizes gluttony. Within the first seen with Gloop, the audience can view him consuming plethora amount of food. Furthermore, in the movie Gloop and the rest of the children were warned not to drink from the chocolate river that Willy Wonka worked tremendously on. However, Augustus Gloop does not listen and ends up falling into the chocolate river. Gloop had several different types of candy he could pick and choose from yet decides to go for the one he is not granted to. For this misbehavior, Gloop was sucked into the pipe, where he was temporarily stuck. Later on, he was able to travel to the Fudge Room where he is nearly turned into a chocolate covered strawberry, displaying the consequence of gluttony. Another sinful child is Violet ... • 7. Aristotle Moral Responsibility Essay According to Aristotle, we are morally responsible for our actions. Through the analysis of notions and concepts such as responsibility in terms of voluntary/involuntary actions, incontinence, and intemperance, we can further understand Aristotle s stance, which is that we are morally responsible for our actions, and character. I will not only be exploring Aristotle s views, but also the views of Dr. Dian Hsieh, and Jonathan Barnes, who both reconstruct an argument for moral responsibility from Aristotle s work. In addition, I will also contrast aspects of Aristotle s view on moral responsibility, with Jean Paul Sartre s views on the matter as portrayed in Existentialism Is A Humanism, in an attempt to improve upon and reveal potential problems ... If this needs further proof, consider the practice of rewarding and punishing: if men weren t in control of their behaviour, there would be no point in rewarding and punishing them. But here s a possible objection: if I am a thoughtless or careless sort of man, then I can t effectively control my behaviour. That is no excuse, says Aristotle, because you are responsible for having turned into that man. We influence the development of all aspects of our personalities by how we choose to spend our time, and what we choose to do; it is obvious that gambling produces gamblers, and military exercises produces bravery. Although I cannot be a different sort of man just by deciding to, I remain responsible for encouraging myself to become the sort of man I have become, just as I cannot stop the stone that I threw at you, although I remain responsible for having thrown it. Aristotle is confident in holding bad men responsible for their wickedness, and believes that any argument that could absolve them of their badness would also deprive good men of their goodness. ... • 8. The Transformation Of Human Development Chapter 2 The Beginning from conception to birth illustrates that the human development begins even at a stage of one s life that has not even formed yet. Every person starts life as a single cell, called a zygote. (Berger, 48) The zygote contains characteristics that create universal and unique characteristics of each human (Berger, 48) The universal characteristics that each unit of life contains molecules that are full of information and instructions called DNA. Human development begins from zygote to newborn in which prenatal development is divided into three categories: Germinal period, Embryonic period, and fetal period. (Berger, 58) The Germinal Period appears begins during the first 2 weeks after conception. The zygote begins duplication and division, in which the 23 pairs of chromosomes duplicate and divide to for new cells that also go through the same process, from one cell duplicating into two, then four, and then eight, and continuing on. Stem cells are the first cells processed to complete the characteristics of an individual by allowing these cells to create others. (Berger, 58) A process called differentiation determines which cells are going to function as what and where. For example, some cells will be sent to create and take control of the eyes. All cells have important tasks and jobs that they are assigned. The last stages of this period uses other cells to form a shell that will become the placenta in which it surrounds and protects the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Usually I m never late, but I got caught up with an excellent argumentative article on tiger sharks. Morning Mike... you don t look prepared. Alysha greeted bluntly. Yeah, got caught up in an article. I admitted, trying to fix the wrinkles in my un ironed blue shirt. Ohhh, you should tell me about it later, when you look presentable. She insulted. Damn her. I gave a tired nod before turning my attention to Mr. Harland who was about to begin speaking. Good morning everyone, I hope you re ready for the day. No matter how snappy that woman gets, I could never actually bring myself to hate her. Who could, really. She meets my intellectual level, and we keep each other in check. • 11. Emily Dickinson s Capitalization and Punctuation The poetry of Emily Dickinson is one of the most recognizable of the 19th century. Dickinson s poetry stands out because of its unconventional use of capitalization and punctuation. Her poems contain capitalized words which are not normally capitalized. Her poems are noted for the frequent use of the dash. Literary scholars have attempted to interpret Dickinson s unconventional capitalization and punctuation. Some believe that it was merely part of Dickinson s penmanship (Weisbuch 73). They therefore edit Dickinson s poetry and publish them in standardized form. Others believe that the capitalization and punctuation were a conscious effort on Dickinson s part. These scholars notice the little nuances of Dickinson s dashes, such as whether ... As demonstrated above, the word light is not capitalized. Furthermore, Dickinson also capitalizes words which are not nouns, as seen in lines 4 6 of He fumbles at your Soul . The word ethereal is an adjective, but Dickinson chooses to capitalize it. He stuns you by degrees Prepares your brittle Nature For the Ethereal Blow The capitalized words are the key words of the poem. They add weight to the lines, tipping the balance of the poetic rhythm. The reader is invited to ponder over their meaning and significance (Miller 59). The capitalization gives Dickinson s poems concreteness and symbolism (Miller 58). The reader s attention is drawn to these capitalized words. They form an image in the reader s mind. For example, in the first example, the capitalized words are Slant, Winter, Afternoons, Heft, Cathedral, and Tunes. These words alone evoke the image of a cold and lonely day which burdens the heart like the heavy and mournful tones of an organ. Just words Winter Afternoons carry sensations of frigidness, bleakness, and loneliness. Winter Afternoons set the scene and describe the mood (Porter 141). • 13. Evil And The Existence Of Evil Essay Evil and miracles, can they both exist in our modern everyday life? Evil s existence has no doubt to be present due to all the horrors we have heard about or witnessed. While as for miracles, the existence is constantly questioned if they exist and what classifies as a true miracle. These concepts battle with theism and cause a great uproar to the existence of a powerful, omnipotent, and omniscient being. The definition of evil is the absence of good while the definition of a miracle is an unexpected, beneficial event. These definitions have counter arguments which include the questioning off both the existence of evil, the existence of a powerful being, and miracles. Evil no doubt has a strong presence and many theologians try to comprehend and offer a solution to the existence of evil. Evil has two forms which are known as the logical form of evil and the evidential form. These two forms of the problem of evil have been distinguished in order to understand the issue of evil. The main argument to the existence of an all good and powerful being is the existence of evil. If an omnipotent being exist evil would be presumed to be absent in our world, however evil remains present. Evil s existence gives ground for atheism and the belief that an all powerful being does not exist. The logical form of evil implies an inconsistency in theism conspiring the belief of both the existence of God and evil. Statements in which theologians believe in are: (1) God exists and is ... • 15. Thomas Hobbes True Moral Philosophy Thomas Hobbes states that the true doctrine of the laws of nature is a true moral philosophy. To accurately assess this statement, the concept of a true moral philosophy needs to be understood. Once this is understood it then needs to be compared to the laws of nature that Hobbes states in the Leviathan. After comparison we can then either affirm or deny Hobbes statement that the laws of nature create the foundation for a true moral philosophy. Most would say that Hobbes creates a guideline that is basic enough to be followed by all cultures that are capable to reason, but differences arise in the details of what Hobbes states and for this reason his philosophy cannot be adopted. When looking at his law of nature that states that people must stay away from making signs that display hatred towards people, this can be interpreted to him saying that we should never protest. By following his moral philosophy we would be giving away our right to protest and fight for peace, which is directly against his own belief system, one that states we must move towards the path that allows us to find peace. Hobbes would respond to this statement by saying that if his laws of nature are adopted correctly and we have given up our rights to a sovereign government they will be taking care of us in a manner that we would never need to protest. Where his logic falls is in the details, and the fact that we have multiple sovereign nations that are all individually fighting for peace, not working together. Remarkably, scandium increases the recrystallization temperature of aluminum alloys to above 600°C, well above the temperature range of heat treatable aluminum alloys. It has been perceived that the addition of scandium with zirconium is more effective than the addition of scandium alone. Small add ons of scandium in the range of 0.2 0.6 wt. % take about a high specific strengthening effect. Scandium provides the highest addition of strengthening per atom percent of any alloying element when added to aluminum. Al Mg Sc alloys are adept of developing strength and fracture toughness similar to that of Al 2024 T3 alloy. Scandium has the facility to refine grain size. It is a strong transformer of cast structure, and the addition of scandium makes it possible to obtain continuously cast billets with a non dendritic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Rape, Violence, And Feminist Networks There has been a lot of discussion of rape within sociologists, criminologists, and feminist networks. In my own words, rape is someone engaging with someone else sexually without their consent. Rape is not strictly vaginal penetration, nor an exclusive heterosexual only act. If two people are in a relationship or married, there is still no justification to the perpetrator for their act. In the 21st century, although rape crimes have dropped 24.1% from 2001 to 2010, but not all rapes are reported (Eitzen, Zinn, Smith, 2010). Curtis (1997) reported that 42% of rape victims do not tell anyone of their assaults. There may be a number of reasons why victims don t speak out. Victims of rape typically fear their own safety and lives if they speak out on it. Men who are victims typically don t report rapes because it s considered demasculizing to their gender. Rape victims are traumatized for life, they live with the burden, as their perpetrators walk away free (Curtis, 1997). NPR s Rachel Martin interviewed author, Jon Krakauer, and they discussed Krakauer s new book on the issue of acquaintance rape. Curtis (1997) defines acquaintance rape in the situation that the victim knows their assaulter. With the main subject being acquaintance rape, Krakauer s book focuses on this college town, Missoula, in Montana. Krakauer tells Martin that 230 rapes have occurred in Missoula, without prosecution (NPR, 2015). From there, Krakauer talks about one of those cases. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
