Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Working Title:
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Distance
Product’s Purpose:
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
My products purpose is to entertain people by listening to the music on the CD, it other purpose is
also to advertise the new songs on the album, think I will do this by making the CD cover stand out
and be unique to other similar products.
Genre:
What sort of product is it
Tropical house music genre – my products fits in with the tropical house music genre because it
uses house, and tropical music on the cd. A few artist who create tropical music and who I have
included in the music list on my cd are disclosure and Odeszi. I will illustrate this by including some
palm trees or other tropical elements to my album cover.
Content
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
My products purpose is to advertise the new album and also to entertain people with the unique
CD cover.
In my product I will include a lot of information such as a copyright statement and information on
my album. Some examples of songs which I will include on the CD are Friends-khwezi, come alive
– Amy Thomas and Cyink, Enough – Jubare.
I will use the same design on my t-shirt and hoodie as I will use for my album cover. I will design
my t-shirt and hoodie on a website called red bubble which make my products available to my
audience. I will also include information on my poster such as ratings reviews, what the company’s
actually said about my CD and a small screenshot of my final album.
Research & Planning
Where will you use elements of your research and planning to influence and inform your final idea
(be specific to certain parts)
– I will choose to use a very simple idea, similar to one, which I have used in my
experiments. This is because I think that a very simple idea such as show in my
process will match perfectly with a house/hip hop album cover.
– I will also choose to edit in unusual shaped objects, which I can then change the
blending options for the layer to make the shapes see through with a different
contrast to normal.
– I will also have to make sure that I stick to my planned schedule which will allow
me to complete all my work to the necessary dead lines ad keep all my work to a
very high standard.
– From my quantitative survey I found that house and hip-hop were the most
popular genres of music, so that is why I have chosen to complete my final album
with the overall genre of house and genre
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?
• The age range for my final major project will be 15+ which was suggested in my survey,
my work will appeal to this audience because people aged below this range won’t find the
genre of music, which is going to be on my album appropriate, because some of the songs
will include explicit language.
• My products will appeal to all genders, this is because my album will appeal to both
genders because there is gender related parts to the cover or merchandise.
• I think that my work will appeal to an audience of ABC1 and C2 social status, this is
because both of these social statuses will all be able to afford the merchandise available
with the CD.
• My work will appeal to a Belonger and needs driven, this is because a Belonger will be
loyal to your Album and there for buy the merchandise which will be sold alongside the
album.

Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include? No
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it? No
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities? No
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone? I will not include any offensive language
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs? No
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement?
I will contact the copyrighters and make sure that I have permission to produce my album and my
other products.
I will apply by ASA codes 1. Compliance and 2. Recognition of marketing communications
because I think that my products which I design will fall under these ASA codes so I will have
comply by them.
