Product’s Purpose:
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
The purpose of my range of products is allow users to browse collections of photographsin different formats via a w ebsite,
magazine and photography portfolio. The purpose of my w ebsite willalso be to allow user to share, like and discuss certain
topics in an online forum. Responding to requests fromthose kinds of groups creates an advantage and opportunity to
make improvements to the w ebsite. The forumusers experience countsas Primary research. The socialnetw orking
features such as the ability to share and discuss, are aspectsof the w ebsite that is designed to entertain the user, specific
features like the online forumand the ability to leave comments can be used for educationaluse.

What sort of product is it?
The genre of my product is photography. The theme that I have chosen is nature based photography that w illbe displayed
on 3 different platforms; online portfolio, w ebsite and magazine. The photographs in w hich are going to be featured in this
line of products are fullcolour, raw ,unedited photographs. My products willalso be very community orientated as the
w ebsite features content like forums and the ability to like, share and comment and my magazine features photographs and
articles fromthe local area therefore creating a range of photography based products that have the purpose of educating
and entertaining the view er.

My range of products are about images taken of the natural environment. My w ebsite willconsist of community based
features such as the ability to like, share and comment on photos featured on the w ebsite and those posted by members of
the w ebsite. The w eb page willfeature an online forumin w hich members can share and discuss various topicsrelated to
photography, this can also be used as guidance for some view ers as information discussed in a lot of forums consists of
instructions and ‘how to…’type comments. My online photography portfolio consists of photos only which is a completely
different approach to displaying photography online as less information can be considered appealing to different kinds of
people w ho take interest in photography. My photography magazine w illinclude a w hole range of information on not only
instructions articles and photographs as producing a magazine gives me the chance to include advertisements that display
a w ide variety of photographyequipment w hich is more suitable for a more dedicated audience. The types of images that I
am going to include in my range of products are photos of flowers, these willbe close ups and feature a w ide variety of
vibrant spring colours. I w illalso feature other photographs such as streams and maybe colourfulw ildlife, Iw ould also
prefer these to be shot close up so that no photographs w illlook out of place w hen grouped together on a w eb page or
portfolio.

Where will you use elementsof your research and planning to influence and inform your
final idea (be specific to certain parts)
My magazine, w ebsite and portfolio have all draw n influencesfromprevious products which the first stage of my research
how everthe second stage of my research wasto design a survey in w hich Iw ould collect responsesand evaluate. My
responses were really helpfulas they allow ed me finalize or get rid of any previous ideas due to the most favourable option
in each answ er. This allow ed me to progress onto asking questions in an interview about specific answersthat w ere
consistently or largely favourable in my survey. The interview that supported the most popular opinion amongst the
respondents also helped me to finalize my theme for the range of products. Specific elements of research and planning that
I am going to use in my final products are; the formal colour schemes used in the existing products, specifically the
magazine and portfolio as it looks bold and professional, Avoiding too many vibrant colours in my products allow s me to
ensure that the photographs stand out and are eye catching, I w illuse a similar layout to the portfolio that I featured in the
research Pow erPoint because it looks neat as the photographs are positioned w ith little space betw een them, I w illalso use
a formal, bold font on the front of my magazine as it suits the theme and also appeals to more than one specific group of
people.

Why would your project appeal to this person?
My main target audience is specifically young people aged 16-19 and w ho are interested in photography how ever nature
photography can appealto a larger range of people of any socialclass and gender. The belonger psychographic would suit
my audience the most as I hope to draw people that are devoted to this particular subject for example; people that w ill
w ithout question, subscribe to a magazine, create an online account and further continue to regularly brow se newly
released content. My range of products are available digitally w hich appeals to a person of w orking class, middle class and
w ealthy backgroundsas Ihave considered affordability in the w ay that the technology required to view my products needs
to be bought by the view er before they can browse my products online. Another w aythat the belonger psychographic is
relevant w hilst thinking about my audience is because platforms such as these w illmore likely accessed by people w ho are
follow up on technology such as people w ho buy and discuss smartphones and laptops.
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
To stick to ASA codes Iw illhave to ensure that I do not lie about the abilities, functions and price of the product. I w ill also
have to ensure that I do not include any photos that could make my product a subject to copyright infringement.

My product w illfeature nature photographs only therefore my product cannot featureany offensive material.
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
The products w illbe available to view and buy to people of all ages as there are no mature themes.

How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?

All designs featured in my range of products are completely original and do not draw influence fromany existing products.

Yes as all photographs are taken by myself as w ellas the w ebsite, portfolio and magazine designs.
