Extending Telemedicine SystemSupervised ByProf. Dr. M. M. A. HashemDept. of CSE, KUETKhulna-9203, BangladeshUndergrad students of CSE@KUET, Khulna, Bangladesh
What is TelemedicineMedical services including various medical checkup to remote patients through network. First proposed in 1988Generally refers to the use of communications and information technologies for the delivery of clinical care.Sometimes different sensors are used to Human body to collect EHR [Electronic Health Record].
How it worksFigure 1: Working Procedure of Telemedicine System
Field of InterestThe Human Heart Rate is a very good indicator of one’s physical condition. Our interest is on using the existing Heart Rate Measuring Device as a Diagnostic Tool of any Telemedicine System. We are going to provide the service in both GSM Network & Internet (if time permits).
ObjectivesDetecting Accurate Heartbeat by HRM Module.Forward data to mobile & PC.Transfer data through GSM Network [SMS, GPRS or 3G].Transfer data using Internet [email].Evaluating our implementation.
Task SchedulingFigure 2: Thesis Management Gantt Chart
Required ResourcesHeart Rate Measurement [HRM] module.A Microcontroller [ATMEGA 32] along with driver circuit.GPRS enabled cell phone.Portable Bluetooth Module.Personal Computer connected to Internet.3G Network.Several software.
ImplementationSMSSMSHeartbeatAdviceGSM NetworkAdviceFigure 3: Working Procedure of Improved Telemedicine System
ConclusionWe will try to develop such a Heart Rate Measuring [HRM] module which differs from existing modules as it can access the Telemedicine Network without informing the patient. Thus it will reduce the complexity of service as well as increases the portability.
Thank You
