Thomas Bond describes experiments with layout and design elements for a magazine cover and t-shirt. He used tools in Photoshop like the move, text, free transform, and shape tools to place movie posters in a film reel, add layered text with 3D effects, and combine text and images on a t-shirt. For his final product, he will include the film reel design and 3D text style to make his magazine stand out and attract audiences.

• I used the move tool
and the free
transform tool to
place the move
posters into the boxes
of the film reel. By
pressing Control + T I
got the free transform
tool which I used to
cove the images to fit
perfectly into the
coved boxes.

3. Process
• I used the text tool and the shape tool to make
these. By using the text tool I made the master
header and the tagline for the magazine, I also
change the colour of then to fit with the other
aspects of the magazine, I also made copied one
layer of the master header and placed it be hide
the first one to make a 3D affect which will attract
the attention to my audience so that they know
which magazine they are looking at. The shape
tool I used to make the background for the
tagline so that it stands out from other wording
on the cover.

shirt. By using the text tool I
made the text and change
the colour to fit well with
the t-shirt colour and the
other image on the t-shirt.
Also by using the move tool
I could move the image and
text around to place them
were they would fit well
with each other and to
attract the buyer.

• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– I will include the film reel idea because I think that
will attract the audience to my magazine and will
stand out from other film magazines
– I will also incorporate the 3D style on the master
header which I think will make my magazine stand
out from the rest and will attract my audience.
