11. Recruiter Visits – in the library
 University of Alberta – October 16, 1 - 3
 MacEwan University – October 26, 9:15 – 12:00
 NAIT – November 14, 9:00 – 3:00
There will be a general information session during the
ELT on those days, for all interested students. Grade 10
students, check with your teacher about attending.
Grade 12 students should meet with the recruiters
individually outside the ELT to discuss their portal and
any other specific questions they may have about
applying or going to the school
See Ms Wegner if you would like to reserve a time spot
for any of these schools.

12. You applied, now what?
 You should receive an email within 10 days of
applying, to set up your portal for the school
 Once that is completed, you must visit the portal
often for any communication to and from the school
 Check the TO DO list. Ms Wegner and Mr Raju can
help you figure out what you need TO DO.
You haven’t applied yet – for some programs, don’t wait
too long, many are first qualified, first admitted OR the
competitive average is based on those first few
applications.

13. BCHS Scholarships Database
 Except for a few missing website links, the external
scholarships database is now updated.
 There are a number of options there for you, it does
not hurt to take the time to look through the list.
 If after a couple of hours of work and you end up with
a $1000 scholarship out of it, when else will you make
$500 a hour.

 The street rod program has moved to Lloydminster
to accommodate more students
 There is a degree transfer program for interior design
 The areas of agriculture ad environmental science are
working together
 A new dairy barn learning space has opened
 They now offer a petroleum management diploma
 Application fee is waived when you apply at open house

15.  Admission to all programs is competitive
 You apply using your final grade 11 marks and any
completed grade 12 marks
 If you do not receive an offer based on these marks,
you will be re-assessed as you submit new final
marks.
 You must apply for scholarships by December 18. You
do not need an offer to apply for scholarships.
 There is a new website and program search tool to
make it very easy to explore the 200+ programs:

16.  Lister Residence Expansion is scheduled for
completion, fall 2018
 There are new faculty minors in Phys Ed and
Recreation and Engineering. These minors add depth
to your learning.

continuous enrolment program with three intakes
every year
 Blended delivery available for Agriculture and Heavy
Equipment Certificate, as well as the Veterinary
Medical Receptionist Certificate
 No longer two specific majors in the Equine Science
Diploma
 Two majors for Agricultural Management Diploma
 Fashion Marketing certificate intake has been
suspended
 Offering a Craft Distilling certificate through
Continuing Education

 You now have a first choice and second choice
option but your second choice will not be
considered unless you do not meet the
requirements of your first choice or you are
waitlisted for your first choice.
 You can switch these around after you submit your
application by filling out the form which is available
