Biological systems require intricate protein and DNA assemblies that can only be understood using multiple experimental techniques across different scales. Recent studies have utilized small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) through the Integrated Diffraction Analysis Technologies facility to inform the design of dynamic protein cages in solution and understand the structure and regulation of epigenetic pathways. Additional work has characterized the molecular architecture of fertilization complexes and components of the non-homologous end joining DNA repair pathway.
