- 3. POWERBOATERS: Safe and responsible boating starts with all boaters wearing their life jacket at all time while on the water.
- 4. The campaign’s PURPOSE: To educate boaters about safe and responsible boating, particularly to wear a life jacket at all time while on the water.
- 5. REMINDER: It’s not enough to simply carry life jackets; you have to wear one. Accidents on the water happen too fast to reach stowed life jackets.
- 6. TODAY’S LIFE JACKETS: They’re more comfortable, less restrictive, and come in a variety of customized styles and colors. There’s a life jacket for everyone!
- 7. There are many options including new inflatable versions and life jackets customized for all types of recreation. NO EXCUSES comfort and safety
- 8. Proper fit It’s important to choose a properly fitted life jacket. Check the manufacturer’s ratings for size and weight and make sure it’s USCG-approved.
- 9. Life jackets for kids: Life jackets meant for adults do not work for children. Proper fit of a life jacket means it fits snugly, it’s buckled, or zipped up, and is appropriate for the person’s weight.
