Oliver Frost is researching existing games like Ori and the Blind Forest, Sonic Mania, and Portal to inform the development of their own game concept. Ori and the Blind Forest provided good inspiration for its art style and graphics. Sonic Mania's character design and stage details were also notable. Portal's puzzle elements showed how challenges could increase in difficulty as the player progresses. Oliver plans to incorporate the art styles of Ori and Sonic, as well as including puzzles like in Portal, in their own game.

2. EXISTING PRODUCT
Ori and the Blind Forest is the
game I am going to try base my
game concept on as plays my
otter character would play similar
to how Ori does. The colours and
graphics are very good as it looks
very magical and quite realistic
shown as the water is very nice. I
like the art style of the game.
They is a mix of dark colours and
light colours and it looks really
good. The font is simple but nice
and goes with the happy
atmosphere of the game.

3. EXISTING PRODUCT
Sonic Mania is also a game that I
would like to base my game of
because of the stages and the
character design. I like the
character design as it shows the
personality of the characters when
looking at them and watching
how they play such as seeing their
different animations. They have a
good art style which I would like
to experiment on and to not have
it in pixels. The stages look good
as well as they have a lot of detail
even though they are pixel art. The
colours of these are good and
each stage has a different colour
scheme.

4. EXISTING PRODUCT
Portal I like because of the puzzle
aspect. You have to think about it
as it gets harder and harder. I want
this to be like my game so as you
progress you have to think about
your abilities and use them too
help you beat the puzzle. I don’t
really like the art style of Portal as
it is quite boring and I wouldn’t
use it myself but it works with
Portal as your doing tests for a
company.
