Tell me in no more than20 words, what is your
FMP idea?
I plan tocreate a short horrorfilm alongwith a set
of movie postersfor the film.
Why have youdecided to makeit? Filmmakingandhorror are a personalpassionof
mine, soI felt the FMP was a good opportunity to
utilise these passions, topourout everythingI
knowand love abouthorrorand filmmakinginto
my project.
What aboutyourproject makesit importantto
you?
The fact thatthis project is being builtoff my
personalinterests makesit more of a passion
project for me, rather thana regular set project.
The FMP will also be my chance to finally create a
shortfilm, which is somethingI'vewanted to do
for a very long time now andI feel like I will be
able to take everythingI knowaboutfilmmaking
andhorror andapply it into thisproject to
hopefully make it as interesting and as
entertaining as possible.
Outline someof the initial influences onyour
idea/work and somepotential research targets
(remember, research isn’t justa paper based
activity)
Existing films andHollywooddirectors are a big
influence onmy goalsand inspirations. I will be
lookinginto these directors, as well as their films
andoverall work to build inspirationfor my
project. Ill also be lookinginto shortfilms, taking
ideas andlooking at what workswell aboutthem,
as well as different horrormovie postersto
brainstormideas for my own.
What effect do youwant to haveon your
audience when they see yourproject?
As my project is a horror film, I'm hoping my
productserves its purposein being scary and
thrilling. I’dlike to have someambiguity
surroundingmy product, leavingmy audience
thinkingaboutit long after seeing it. Evidently
havinga lasting effect onmy audience andmaking
my project memorable.
Describe the tone/mood/styleofyourproject
[which productiontechniques/characteristicsare
youemploying?]
My film will be dark andgritty, I'll be taking
inspirationfrom films like Se7en andSaw, giving
my film a dirty / green horroraesthetic to make it
feel all the more unpleasantandappropriateto
the genre. The majority of my film will be shotat
night, addingto the horror aesthetic, as well as
handheld camera movementto give it a moreold
andauthentic feel. I want to makesure that my
audience feels i
Why have youdecided to makeyour project in
this style?
Personally, thisstyle really appeals to me,
especially when it comes tohorror. I think horror
worksbest when its made in this style andmakes
it feel all the morereal and disturbing. I’mabig
fan of films like Se7en, where every shotfeels very
dark and gritty, as I think it helps the audience get
into the moodof the characters andputs youin
their environment.
