The Business vs. IT: Can’t We All Just Get Along?eprentise
It is no surprise that IT is not always aligned with business goals. The conflicts arise because IT is often unaware of how the business uses the systems that IT is responsible for installing and supporting, and the business is often unaware of exactly what is involved in an IT project. There are several other reasons for the disconnect between IT and the business.

The economy has begun to show signs of recovery. Companies are reporting stronger earnings. Except for what might have been a technical or systemic anomaly, stock indices are on the rise. Unemployment claims are dropping and jobs are slowly being created. Companies that have been hanging on to cash are in a good position to spend it on deals or to hire back workers. In other words, the economy is positioned for growth.

As you all know by now we recently acquired the online widget retailer Widgets – R – Us. The payoff from joining with them is that it puts us into the position to become the world’s leading widget supplier, The acquisition of a retailer aspect to our already successful manufacturing company is a positive move and puts us ahead, especially after the recent bankruptcy of We Sell U Widgets thus management revolution through integration of these two ventures is no longer in doubt but a necessity.
1. Current infrastructure.
Widgets R Us or Widgets USA are both not in a technological position to handle the type of expansion we are considering undertaking. Our individual hardware and software needs as a company we are enlisting your help and advice to put us into a position to move forward. Integrating our business support systems managed by the IT department and operations support systems handled by the network team will boost the operational capacity and efficiency and thus better synchronizing of the technology backbone.
2. Network Types.
We have 3 different network types manly (Internet, intranet, extranet).
· Internet
This is the world-wide network of computers accessible to anyone who knows their Internet Protocol also called the ip address. All you need to access the Internet is your ip address and a computer. IP address is a unique set of numbers that defines the computer's location (e.g. 100.3.9.1) .The Internet is now global and can be accessed by anyone who can get access from an Internet service provider.
· Intranet
This network that is not available to the world outside of the Intranet it’s a personal network owned by the organization. The Intranet network is connected to the Internet then the Intranet will be hidden behind a firewall and thus if it allows access from the Internet it becomes an Extranet. The firewall helps in controlling access in between the Intranet and Internet and to permit access and control traffic to the Intranet and allow only the people who are members of our organization to gain access. The company mostly uses t for printing purposes to the central networked printers.
· Extranet
An Extranet is an Intranet that’s partially accessible to people authorized but outside the organizations intranet. The actual server, the computer that serves up the web pages, will reside behind a firewall that protects any intrusion. Access levels can be changed for different individuals and groups and this is done through access usernames and passwords.

It also summarizes the main types of information systems including transaction processing systems, management information systems, decision support systems, executive support systems, enterprise systems, supply chain management systems, customer relationship management systems, knowledge management systems, and systems that support collaboration and teamwork. The document emphasizes how information technology and information systems can help coordinate work and information flow within and across organizations.
Many companies are taking longer than ever to complete their monthly and quarterly accounting closes due to complex Excel macros and legacy systems. This delays regulatory reporting and makes joint venture accounting more difficult. Finance teams often delay upgrading systems until deadlines are missed. When selecting consolidation software, companies should consider implementation time, training needs, and total cost of ownership. TCM software provides a multidimensional solution for consolidations, reporting, and analysis within Excel to help streamline the financial close process.

CIS 499 – Information Systems Capstone
Background
In the last two years, the ACME Company has experienced continued growth. This growth is expected to continue in the very near future. Specifically, the company is expected to experience a 60% growth in the next eighteen months. This rate of growth has presented new challenges for the company. It now has to redesign its information systems for the larger office space occupied. The continued growth has also highlighted the need to set up the company to deal with more data and ensure for safety and security for its clients. The ACME Company is currently valued at $25 million but is expected to experience significant growth in the future.
Type of Business
The ACME Company collects data using Web analytics and combines it with operational systems data. Increasingly, businesses have appreciated the competitive edge presented by analyzing market data. However, the successful use of data in decision making is a long process that has greatly influenced the growth of information systems. Some of the major steps in this process include collecting information and interpreting its significance. This is intended to compare the external and internal environments of a business and propose better practices that would benefit as a whole.
ACME based its information technology on a hybrid model where some of the systems are hosted and other in-house. This method was initially done with the goal of minimizing costs. However, a lot has changed in the business that necessitates major changes to be made.
Skilled Information Systems Personnel
At the moment, there are only four employees in the company dedicated to the Information Technology department. ACME has adopted a hybrid solution to information technology where much of the systems used by the company were hosted by other entities. This was believed to be part of cutting costs. As the business has continually grown, its information technology needs have expanded and redesigned to meet its current obligations.
The personnel at the company will need to be trained to use any other systems introduced at the workplace. Although all the workers are trained information technology experts, it will be important to involve them in the development of the new design to facilitate its effectiveness. This is primarily intended to ensure that all the qualified personnel at the organization are well-informed about the information technology changes occurring at the workplace.
Types of Data
ACME collects web analytics and combines it with operational systems data. Web analytics includes all the data tha.
This document summarizes the findings of a study on how information systems increase the efficiency of business organizations. It surveyed two garment companies in Bangladesh - Lusaka Group and Esquire Knit Composite. The study found that implementing information systems provided benefits like supporting decision making, reducing costs, and helping achieve organizational goals. It allowed the companies to better manage supply chains, customers, and strategic planning. While information systems provide advantages, they can also cause issues like unemployment. The study concluded that information systems, when properly implemented, help businesses effectively plan, execute strategies and increase profits.
This document discusses information system and IT outsourcing strategies. It defines outsourcing as hiring external firms to perform work that cannot be done in-house. There are various reasons managers get involved in outsourcing, such as reducing costs, focusing on core activities, and sharing risks. The document outlines different types of outsourcing like offshore outsourcing and benefits like cost savings. It emphasizes the importance of aligning IS/IT strategies with business strategies and considers outsourcing a competitive advantage in the 21st century knowledge-based economy.
Information Retrieval And Evaluating Its UsefulnessDiane Allen
This document discusses information retrieval and evaluating its usefulness. It covers topics like the ETL process, creation of a data warehouse using SQL, OLAP operations, data mining techniques like cluster analysis and association rule mining. It also discusses data analytics and its usefulness for business, as well as using production logs to test and engineer an application's performance. The document contains an introduction, table of contents, and sections on the discussed topics with some content removed for brevity.

You are a member of a Zara employee taskforce. The taskforce has been asked to make recommendations on selecting a new point-of-sale device for all of their retail locations. The team has narrowed the choices down to three products. The first product allows for access to the internet for both store use and sending sales transactions reporting, email, customer data collection and lookup, and full inventory functions (in-stock, location, reduction information). The second product has the same functions as the first but with limited in-store only inventory functions (search only). The third product has no inventory functions and access to the internet is limited to sales reporting to corporate. Based on your knowledge of Zara’s business and process management, explain which POS product you would recommend. Support your opinion with the case information.

An EBS Retirement Party - You're Uninvitedeprentise
Not long ago, IT may have stood for Innovative Technology. Today's economic climate has caused a shift: budgets became constricted, dollars were redirected, and much of the collective investment that would have previously been thrown at innovation was thwarted by cost-cutting initiatives geared toward maintaining both existing enterprise applications as well as the status quo. As a result, the functionality of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle's E-Business Suite (EBS) suffered due to management's focus on the present (time to results - regardless of the quality) rather than on the future (time to value).

IFSM 461: Systems Analysis and Design
Precision Electronic Parts, Inc.
Case Study
Introduction
This case study will be used for a series of staged assignments. It should be thoroughly read and understood prior to working on any of the assignments.
Setting
Precision Electronic Parts (PEP), Inc., is a small private business that has retained you to assist in the development of a new billing and payment system and associated processes.
Background
PEP is a small, private specialized electronics company in Kansas. For the past 20 years, it has manufactured a wide range of precision electronic components and replacement parts for medical equipment used in hospitals, doctor’s offices, and pharmacies. Last year, the company began building and delivering custom low voltage motors that reduced electricity costs and made older medical equipment more environmentally friendly. More recently, PEP has added a new line of more efficient low voltage motors that can be used in precision equipment outside the healthcare industry.
As a result, PEP is experiencing significant increases in orders for the motors. The manufacturing facility has been expanded, and the sales and marketing teams have been enlarged. All of this is straining the Ordering & Shipping Department and the Inventory Management Department, which have received no increase in personnel. They are meeting the challenge, but the Executive Leadership Team (the CEO, COO, CFO, and CIO) know that they are only treading water. The Finance Department, however, is getting further and further behind in their invoice, billing and payment processes. The Business Administration Department has stepped up to the task, but is at the breaking point.
IT Steering Committee
The IT Steering Committee (ITSC) at PEP is comprised of the Executive Leadership Team, the Senior Vice President and Vice President.
• Carolyn West is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). She has been at the company for 11 years. Carolyn has a background working for and managing electronics companies. Like most CEOs, Carolyn is focused on the strategic and long-term business health of PEP. She chairs the IT Steering Committee. Carolyn and the committee members jointly make decisions about IT systems and major organizational business process changes.
• Tim Uduak, Jr. is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the son of founding partner Tim Uduak, Sr. Tim has been around the company since its inception in one capacity or another, except for four years of college and a 3-year break to startup his own company. When his startup failed, Tim came back to PEP as the SVP, Engineering & Manufacturing Operations. Last year, he was promoted to COO. While Tim has a strategic focus and is not technology averse, he prefers to solve business challenges with processes rather than information technology.
• Karl Manley is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He has been with the company for 9 years. Karl has a background in accounting and f.
An information system is a set of interrelated components that collect, process, store, and distribute data to support decision making and control within an organization. It provides automated and digital tools that allow businesses to conduct operations more efficiently and make strategic decisions using data-driven insights. There are different types of information systems that support various levels of an organization, from operational transaction processing to executive-level analysis and decision making.
This document provides information about an Accounting Information Systems course being taught from February 3 to March 12, 2022. The course will introduce students to the core concepts of accounting information systems, including the relationship between accountants, information technology, and accounting information systems. Students will learn about databases, documenting business processes, and internal control systems. The course objectives, schedule, and learning outcomes are outlined.
Michael Reilly has over 20 years of experience in IT leadership roles, most recently as Corporate IT Manager for TWB Company from 1996-2016. He established standardized IT policies and procedures, managed projects from conception to completion, and created strategic plans. Some key accomplishments include establishing an ERP system for a new Mexican facility, developing custom applications to improve operations and metrics tracking, and leading the organization through SOX compliance. Reilly aims to enable business goals through innovative technology solutions and effective leadership of IT teams.
An ERP system is a fully integrated business management software that aims to facilitate the flow of information between different departments within an organization. The document traces the evolution of ERP systems from earlier inventory control packages and MRP systems of the 1960s-1980s. It describes the key characteristics and modules of an ERP including finance, accounting, sales, marketing, production and human resources. The benefits of ERP implementation are also summarized as operational efficiencies, improved management decision making, and strategic and organizational advantages. Finally, some common disadvantages of ERP projects like time and cost are outlined along with approaches to overcome them.

2. Train 8 staff members on using the new systems over 8 months through cooperative training.
3. Purchase necessary equipment like computers, servers, and security systems within the £50,000 budget.
This document provides an overview of business processes and information systems. It discusses how information systems can improve business processes and competitive advantage.

Zara Case Situation
Step 4: How would evaluate the options? What criteria would you use? How do the triangle sides impact the options?
Step 5: What decisions and actions would you recommend to the case company? What data supports your conclusions? Why should the case company take your advice?

There are misconceptions that certain cultures are lazy or dependent on government assistance due to deep-rooted fears from slavery and racial violence. Forum 1)One psychosocial issue that could cause a serious issue in the school setting to me would be Bullying. Bullying can scare a person’s ability to feel be ant to bully and be mean to someone because they may act different or look different to them, beautiful, safe, and secure about who they are, and be lasting ongoing issue that will last forever by making them feel insecure, and not wanted along while feeling like no one cares about them. Bullying is a form of abuse, aggressiveness, coercion, force. There are other things that bullies do to feel like they are important or better than everyone else, like be dominated, intimidating, or threatening. “Bullying in schools, particularly bias-based bullying, is an important issue for many reasons, but chief among them include evidence that victims being bullied experience both short and long term consequences, including poor school performance, depression, and increased health problems” (Martin, M. E. (2018).
I believe that the services of all three would be required because the bully would be evaluated three different times on his behavior and other things that no one may know about. Each of them has their own specialty that would fit working with the bully and being able to determine what is the issue or problem that makes the bully act out of character the way he or she does.
“An analysis of this phenomenon in schools, according to different authors [1,7.8, reveals that children involved in bullying behavior can play different roles; (a) aggressors/intimidators; (b) victim; (c) aggressors who are also victims and (d) passive observers. These observers are neither directly involved as aggressors nor as victims. As such, they can play a number of different roles: they can defend the victims, thus reducing this type of behavior; they can support the aggressors, actively reinforcing intimidation; children who merely observe are neutral or indifferent”. (www.ncbi.nim.nih.gov) (Links to an external site.) . There should something put into place that will stop individuals with aggressive behavior to stop bullying other individuals who just want to be themselves and live their lives. It leads to most children feeling depressed and wanting to end their lives because of it, and it happens in our society today children ending their lives because they are being targeted by bullies. Rules should also be put into place for the bullies to let them know what will happen if they continue to bully others.

Welcome to Innovation Network’s Logic Model Workbook. A logic model is a commonly-used

I like to tie my learning to Biblical Principles. On Virtuous Le.docxeugeniadean34240
I like to tie my learning to Biblical Principles. On Virtuous Leadership, I think about what leader in the Bible do I know that stands out as a virtuous leader. Although there are many, one that stands out to me is Nehemiah. Nehemiah's brother and others said that they had been to Jerusalem and the Wall has been broken down, and the gates were burned. Nehemiah listened and took this news personally as if he was the wounded party. In other words, it broke his heart to hear this news.
He then took personal responsibility, prayed, and asked God to forgive him and his people for not obeying his commands. Then he took personal action, and at great danger to himself, he appeared before the King sad - remember that no King wants a sad cupbearer. When the King saw how sad Nehemiah was, he asked him why, and Nehemiah explained the state of his city walls and asked permission to go and fix them. He went and fixed the walls. He got involved in the work as a servant leader and getting the people what they needed. They had a city again with walls and a gate, and most importantly, they had protection!
We can see in this story that a servant leader is someone who takes personal responsibility for what has gone wrong and sets out to fix it, but not only does he/she fix the problem, the servant leader gets involved in the work and works alongside his workers to get the job done right. By doing so, the servant leader demonstrates his care for his workers and organization.
Share a story of a servant leader either in the Bible or someone you know.

I just want one paragraph.!!
C.W.Mills described ‘sociological imagination’ as an ability to understand “the intersection of one's own biography and other biographies with history and the present social structure you find yourself and others in.” In short, it is the ability to understand the private in public terms. Essentially, Mills is describing an ability to discern patterns in social events and view personal experiences in light of those patterns. To highlight that, he uses two terms – “the personal troubles of milieu” and “the public issues of social structure.” ‘Troubles’ happen to us as individuals, and are a private matter of individual choices and biography. ‘Issues’ are public matters that transcend the individual, and have to do with societal structures and processes.
Here is the Question!!!
1- For this discussion, I want you to select one of the following health/medical issues, and offer a thoughtful reflection on it as both a hypothetical ‘personal trouble’ and a ‘public issue.’
- ADHD; obesity; eating disorder; infertility; Alzheimer’s disease; COVID.
