This document describes a system for online dynamic torque and efficiency monitoring in induction motors using an embedded wireless sensor network. Sensors measure motor parameters like voltage, current, speed, torque, and power factor. The sensor signals are conditioned and connected to a PIC microcontroller. The microcontroller processes the data and transmits it wirelessly using Zigbee protocol. The receiver side includes a receiver, microcontroller for processing, and a PC as the base unit with a graphical interface. The system allows for local high-frequency processing of motor data and accurate remote monitoring of motor performance metrics.

Home Automation System using ZigBee and PandaBoard as a Gateway (HAS-ZP)idescitation
Today’s homes have as many wires as the number of devices to control. Home
automation using ZigBee and PandaBoard as a gateway does away with the need for
separate wires and even remotes. The wireless home area network doesn’t require line-of-
sight communication. The HAS-ZP is a wireless home automation system that can be
implemented in existing home environments, without any changes in the infrastructure.
Home Automation lets the user control the home appliances from his or her smart-phone or
laptop. The assigned actions can happen depending on time or other sensor readings such as
light, temperature or sound from any connected device in the Home Automation network.
With the help of PandaBoard, currently working as gateway, we can control, command,
operate and observe the end devices. Here we are considering end devices like fan, bulb, TV,
Music System, doors, windows etc. with the single gateway, the system can control entire
home irrespective of number of rooms or boundaries where each room will be connected
with single receiver.
Design and Construction of DC Motor Speed Controller Using Android.pptEEESrproject
Rapid progress in microelectronics and microcontrollers in recent years has made it possible to apply modern control technology to control efficient and reliable operation of many applications such as the engine, anti-lock braking system (ABS), cruise, steering, and vehicle traction. Many of these operations including DC motor and therefore there is a need for implementing effective control strategies with digital control of these motors. The speed of DC motor is directly proportional to armature voltage and inversely proportional to field flux and adjustable speed drives can be operated over a wide range by controlling armature or field excitation. Development of various solid state switching devices such as diode, transistor and thyristor along with various analog/digital chips used in firing/controlling circuits, have made dc drives more handy for control in numerous areas of applications. For DC motor speed control, closed-loop PWM technique is widely used and well known . In this technique, the regulation of motor’s speed is realized by changing the voltage of motor which is adjusted by the duty ratio of PWM. In order to improve the performance of motor’s speed regulation and to reduce the steady-state error of the rotational speed of motor, a high- performance microcontroller can be used.In this work, an arduino microcontroller is used for implementation.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

2. Embedded system interated into a
wireless sensor networks for online
dynamic torque and efficiency monitoring
in induction motors
3. Abstract:
Analysis of induction motor is much essential to
find out utilization index of a motor for better performance. When we
analyze an efficiency of an induction motor we need to acquire many
parameters like voltage, current, KW, Power factor, speed, torque from
motors. All the above said parameters must be acquired at fastest speed
to present an instantaneous efficiency indication. When we analyze these
parameters we can easily identify whether the motor is suitable for
particular operations or not, can be identified.
In this paper, we are going to use all type of sensing
system. For above said parameters all the sensors will be connected to
signal conditioning circuits to convert signals suitable for interfacing with
embedded controller. The state of art PIC microcontroller manufactured
by microchip will be used in our project to cater the need of software and
hardware. The PIC embedded controller contains ADC, DAC, PWM and
much more built-in options are there to have a better design.
These data are available at the base unit using
wireless sensor networks. Local processing is done at the controller part
so that the calculation frequency is high and the result is more accurate.

6. Block Diagram:
It consist of a voltage sensor and current sensor which
contain noise filters and rectifiers. The speed is measured
using a tachogenerator a load cell is used for measuring the
torque. Relays and protection circuits are used for the
protection of the system.
The receiver side uses a receiver
circuit, then an embedded circuit for processing and a
personal computer as the base unit which deals with the
graphical user interface.
The embedded controller used is a PIC
microcontroller. The data collected from the motor is
processed in the pic and then transmitted to the base station.
At the receiver end the data is collected by a receiver. And
then the collected data is moved to the personal computer
after processing through the microcontroller circuit.
7. HARDWARE DESCRIPTION:
The system composed of two parts, the
transmitter and receiver. Transmitter part composed of induction
motor, sensor system, signal conditioner and the wireless sensor.
The protocol used here for the wireless
transmission is zigbee. ZigBee is a proprietary set of high level
communication protocols designed to use small, low power
digital radios based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard for wireless
personal area networking. The relationship Between IEEE
802.15.4 and ZigBee is analogous to that existing between IEEE
802.11 and the Wi-Fi Alliance. It is expected that the standard
eventually will be open (i.e., available free to the public for
academic or other non-commercial use), while remaining
proprietary (i.e., requiring membership in the ZigBee Alliance
for commercial use).
