  1. 1. Design of Intelligent Home Appliance Control System Based on ARM and ZigBee Abstract: Intelligent information appliance is the main direction of development in the appliance control field. Intelligent appliance network has small amount and low speed of data transmission; there are many appliances in family and it needs more network capacity. ZigBee is developed in recent years, a short-range wireless communications technology, with low power, low data rate, short distance, low cost, safe and reliable. In this paper, using ARM microprocessor as the core a research is developed for the design of intelligent appliance control system using Zigbee technology. Existing System: In the earlier, the controlling of the home appliances will be based on the IR remote or sensor technologies. So the earlier system will be more cost that’s why we go for the proposed system to overcome the disadvantage. In our system we are using the advanced touch screen technology for controlling of the devices. Proposed System: The proposed system introduces the intelligent home appliance control system, the system is developed through ARM microprocessor, ZigBee wireless communication technology and network technology. User can control appliances through the touch screen technology. Here the controlling section contains the ARM processor is connected with the touch screen module, Zigbee wireless protocol. The device section contains the devices connected with the Zigbee module, and 8051 microcontroller. The touch screen module is connected with the ADC of the ARM processor. So the values will be converted into digital and sent through the Zigbee module. In the device section the Zigbee will receive the data from the control section and control the devices corresponding to the received command.
