STARTED COURSEWORK LATE
Monday 11th November Monday: Began completing my Logbook and Evaluation e.g.
analysing the front cover of a magazine. Also researched Q
magazine.
Wednesday: I Further completed my Logbook, I now have to
research the publisher of my magazine and complete the
evaluation once I have done my prelim task. Began my
preliminary task – firstly started creating my front cover and
chose the font using ‘dafont’.
Monday 18th November Monday: I have basically finished my Main task front cover page,
in terms of cover lines, masthead, barcode and the normal
conventions. All I need to do now is take my main cover photo,
manipulate it if necessary, which it probably will be and get it to a
high standard.
Monday 25th November Monday: I have taken multiple images for my front cover, picked
one and started to manipulate it in Photoshop. I was taught how
to use the ‘Quick mask tool’, which allows you to remove the
background of an image to a high standard. I’m still getting to
grips with using it.
Wednesday: I completed my hand drawn draft for my contents
page, started creating it and also tried to finish my prelim task
front cover. I learnt about the conventions of a contents page and
what I must include, such as an editorial, complete with a
photograph of my signature and me and also to be consistent
with my colour scheme.
Friday: Today I decided to change my main magazine front cover
image as I felt it would be more suited to the conventions of my
magazine of inspiration. In addition I was having some trouble
with editing the previous image and I feel this would be easier to
do. So I have spent the lesson manipulating my image using the
Quick Mask tool. I have become a lot more confident using it.
Monday 2nd December Monday: I edited my new front cover image on a site called
PicMonkey.
Monday 9th December
Monday 16th December
Christmas Holidays
Monday 6th January Wednesday: Took my pictures for double page spread
Friday: I mainly focused on the text of my double page spread and
managed to finish my brief introduction. I also aligned everything
I need to on the page and made sure the layout was spot on.
Monday 13th January Friday: Added 3 more original images to my contents page and
some anchoring text to support the images. I also had to slightly
rearrange the layout in order to include a compulsory editor’s
later. In addition I typed up about half of the answers to the
interview questions on my double page spread.
Monday 20th January Monday: Wrote my editor’s letter out in word for my Main Task
contents page and then copy and pasted it onto my contents page
in Photoshop. I also added an editor’s picture all I need to do is
add in my signature. I also finished off my Preliminary task
contents page and front cover in terms of writing. All that is left
to do is add some smaller original images to both the front and
contents page and insert a signature onto the editor’s letter. I
plan to start on my preliminary double page spread next and
complete my logbook.
Friday: I finished writing up my interview answers and putting
them in my double page spread and tweaking the layout. I just
have to finish writing up my FAQs and add in social networking
links and 808 logo.
Monday 10th February Friday: Today I made the last corrections to my prelim pages all I
have to do is add some thumbnail images. I also created a survey
monkey, which I intend to give out today and analyse. I am also
going to complete my audience profile sheet and draw up my
prelim task hand drawn drafts.
Monday 17th February Monday: Today I completed further research for my planning and
I researched Bauer media. I still have more research to complete
and complete a survey monkey.
Tuesday: I further added to my planning and research
PowerPoint. I also analysed the answers I got for my survey
monkey for before the start of my magazine. I added in
screenshots of a conversation I had to show evidence of planning.
Friday: I deconstructed some more magazine covers and scanned
in some work to include on the PowerPoint.
Wednesday: Today I scanned in my hand drawn drafts onto my
Mac and put them in my folder in Student resources and
annotated a double page spread interview in my XXL magazine. I
added the hand drawn draft and double page spread to my
logbook.
Monday 24th February Monday: Today I completed the step-by-step evidence in my
logbook of how I created the front cover and contents page for
the preliminary task. Unfortunately I have not had time to add in
secondary pictures to my front cover and contents page for the
preliminary task.
Monday 3rd March Wednesday: I have finally completed my logbook and put
everything that needs to be included on it. My last task is to
upload it to my blog page.
