Child Centered Drought Preparedness Programme- Snapshot Issue:Recurring severe drought in Rajasthan Programme Specific Objective:Communities and government are better prepared to manage drought and thereby ensuring improved quality of life of children. Result areas: 1.  Community based disaster preparedness plans that incorporates children’s views are prepared. 2. Piloting child focused activities as part of the disaster preparedness plans. 3. Enhance capacity of government officials of relevant departments and NGOs to support development and implementation of disaster preparedness plans. 4. Strengthen project management structure to deliver child focused disaster preparedness plans. Programme Coverage:  40 villages in  4  district - Jaipur, Churu, Barmer, Jaiselmer Programme period :  January 2006-April 2007 BENEFICIARIES CBOs and NGOs 40 Children groups 40 ANMs/ ICDS worker 75 Adolescents 100 Teachers 172 PRIs 88 20,801 General population  Children 50,531
