6. Global Positioning Systems
• They work by making use of satellites that orbit the earth.
• Receivers are used in navigation + for drawing maps.
• Exact position of receiver can be determined by carrying out calculations
based on the position of satellites and time taken for satellites to get to
the receiver.
• GPS can be used by runners
Advantages Disadvantages

7. Satellite Navigation Systems
it has 2 functions:
1. GPS calculates position of the driver
2. Stored date consists of data about all the roads in the country.
• It is often used by drivers to produce a route for their cars.
