This document summarizes a study that used TRNSYS software to simulate and compare different solar sorption cooling systems. The study aimed to create an adsorption chiller component in Matlab and connect predefined TRNSYS components to model simple systems. The simulation compared absorption and adsorption systems using different working pairs under identical Malaysian weather conditions for human and food cooling loads. Results showed zeolite-methanol and silica gel-water had higher COP to volume ratios for human cooling, while silica gel-water performed best for food cooling. The discussion concluded activated carbon-methanol is best for freezing applications. Next steps proposed extending the simulation scope to model non-equilibrium conditions, different climates, and using ionic liquids
