3. Web Page
Date: 16 November 2016
Course: Comm 130:16
Instructor: Sister Rodriguez
Objective: Create a mockup of a professional web
page.
Description: This is a web page mock-up for the
website of Nichole Mallett Make-up Artistry.
Tools: Adobe Photoshop
Background: This mockup was created for a web
page for a make-up artistry business. My goal was
to create a web page that was clean, simple and
elegant, to match the style and feel of the business.
I believe the photos are one of the most important
parts of this page because when searching for a
look or a potential make-up artist, photographs are
the best representation of the artists work.
4. Photo Design
Date: 12 October 2016
Course: Comm 130:16
Instructor: Sister Rodriguez
Objective: Create a photo design using my own
photo with focus on following a color scheme and
using different design elements.
Description: This is a photo showcasing Zion
National Park in the fall.
Tools: Adobe Photoshop
Background: I really wanted to capture fall in this
photo design. I love the red rocks and the fall colors
at Zion National Park and this was an opportunity
to showcase them. I chose an analgous fall color
scheme, drawing from the brick red of the rocks, the
brown of the river and the gold of the fall leaves.
5. Montage
Date: 19 October 2016
Course: Comm 130:16
Instructor: Sister Rodriguez
Objective: Create a montage that combines two
images and communicates a spritual theme.
Description: This is a montage of the Virgin River
and giving hands.
Tools: Adobe Photoshop
Background: I had a beautiful picture of a river
that I had taken and it felt like it already had a
spritual theme within it, so I designed around the
theme of giving, quoting the popular primary
song “Give said the little stream.” The hardest part
about this project was making the text readable. It
seemed that every color I chose made it blend in
with the river or the light. I tried many different color
and landed on a color I thought worked best.
6. Brochure
Date: 30 November 2016
Course: Comm 130:16
Instructor: Sister Rodriguez
Objective: Create a full bleed, colored folding
brochure for a business.
Description: This is a brochure for WM
Technologies, focused around recruitment.
Tools: Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Indesign
Background: I chose to create a recruiting
brochure for a fake business I created. As this
brochure is meant to be used a recruiting tool, the
sections are short and grabbing with eye-catching
pictures to draw readers in. This is a two-fold offset
brochure. The difficult part of this design was to
make things readable with the color scheme and
background I chose.

7. Logo
Date: 26 October 2016
Course: Comm 130:16
Instructor: Sister Rodriguez
Objective: Create a logo for a business using only
the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator.
Description: This is the logo for Nichole Mallett
Make-up.
Tools: Adobe Illustrator
Background: This project was one of the most
difficult for me to accomplish. Creating logos was
difficult for me at first and this was also my first
time using Adobe Illustrator. I chose to create a
logo for a make-up artist business that was simple
and clean, which I believe I accomplished. The tan
circle is meant to represent splotch of make-up.

8. Business Cards
Date: 26 October 2016
Course: Comm 130:16
Instructor: Sister Rodriguez
Objective: Utilizing a logo I created, design two-
sided business cards.
Description: This is the business card for Nichole
Mallett Make-up.
Tools: Adobe Indesign & Adobe Illustrator
Background: To keep with the theme of the logo,
I did not want the card to be too busy. I wanted
it to remain elegant, simple and professional. All
icons were also created by me using the pen tool in
Adobe Illustrator and then the card was design in
Indesign.

9. Letterhead
Date: 26 October 2016
Course: Comm 130:16
Instructor: Sister Rodriguez
Objective: Utilizing a logo I created, design a
letterhead for a business.
Description: This is the letterhead for Nichole
Mallett Make-up.
Tools: Adobe Indesign
Background: I used the repetiton of the tan
splotch in logo in my letterhead design to create
unity. It follows suit in keeping with the simple and
clean theme of the logo, just as the business cards
do. The watermark is set to 30% and looks as I
designed it when it is printed.

10. Magazine Cover
Date: 28 September 2016
Course: Comm 130:16
Instructor: Sister Rodriguez
Objective: Design a magazine cover featuring me,
with headlines describing me.
Description: This is a magazine cover showcasing
myself.
Tools: Adobe Indesign
Background: This was the first project I did
using Indesign. I chose to go with a bold red
monochromatic color scheme. I tried to use
shapes to catch attention and give focus to certain
headlines. I also used my line of sight in the photo
to lead the reader through the cover.
11. Coding
Date: 2016-11-10
Course: Comm 130:16
Instructor: Sister Rodriguez
Objective: Create a web page using HTML and
CSS about the business logo designed in a priori
project.
Description: This is a web page based around the
logo for Nichole Mallett Make-up.
Tools: TextWrangler
Background: The logo created for this business
is meant to give a clean simple feel, so it was my
goal to communicate the same feel on the web
page. I did not go overboard, I focused on being a
minimalist. The challenge in this project laid in the
font style. I had chosen a font style for the logo that
only looks good in the logo - not on a web page.
However, in order to conform to not using too many
fonts, I used the font anyway.
12. Prezi
Date: 5 October 2016
Course: Comm 130:16
Instructor: Sister Rodriguez
Objective: Create a 10-15 frame presentation,
using the Prezi tool, about any subject.
Description: This is a prezi presentation about the
ecosystems of Brazil.
Tools: Prezi Presentation
Background: I chose to do a presentation on
a subject that would allow me to jump around
a map, so I chose the ecosystems of Brazil. The
presentation jumps into each ecosystem according
to where it is located in Brazil and presents the
plant and animal life of that ecosystem. The
error I made on this was not using a high enough
resolution picutre as my main background frame.
13. Infographic
Date: 2 November 2016
Course: Comm 130:16
Instructor: Sister Rodriguez
Objective: Design an infographic on any subject.
Description: This is an infographic focused on
Studen Debt in America.
Tools: Adobe Illustrator
Background: I chose to design an infographic
on a serious epidemic in the United States,
student loan debt. The most difficult part of
this design was to present so much information
effectively completely through graphics without
becoming overwhelming of confusing. I chose
to communicate my research through short text
graphics to grab the readers attention.
