Go through some of them like OnMobile, Comviva, One97, Spice (India), ZTE, Hisunray, eBUPT (China), NEC (Japan). Dialogic has been at the forefront of enabling customer innovation since our inception. Here are some examples. VoIP Gateways Collaboration between Dialogic, Vocaltec, and Lucent produced the industries first PSTN/IP Gatewa in 1997. Service Provider/Telcos are paying a premium for per square inch and per watt –the more they can get on one board and from one chassis the better cost advantage they have. Dialogic example is China Mobile integrated by NEC deployed in 2003 (DMV2400A, DMN160TEC) allowed for 100,000 new registrants per day up to 7.5M users. NMS went into Livewire and competed with it’s customers. We will not do that. Note that Audiocodes does it, Digium does it, Donjin does it. We want to have a consistent business model so our customers can trust us. Is a gateway getting into that space….some could argue that but it still fits into the “Build on Dialogic” theme since it needs to go into a soltuion provided by someone else, and we don’t provide the solution
Dialogic Business Model – sell to our customers, or partner with our customers (i.e. our SW/HW meet in the channel with THEIR application where a system integrator (could be them) integrate the solution. In turn, our customer/partner sells to the end enterprise, or service provider. So while you recognize the end enterprise or service provider name, you may not recognize the customer/partner.

So beyond mobile subs (from previous slide), there are other drivers for mobile video. Examples include social networking, where user generated content (reference YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, etc.) is driving large amounts of video streaming and download. This is enabled of course by additional bandwidth, smarter and better phones, and more content available. Online advertising continues to drive revenue in all ‘web’ areas including IP video content.

What is Mobile Interactivity? Not just a phone call. Interaction…a conference call, or being involved in some way such as texting in a vote for a TV show. Think of all the ways you use a mobile phone today…. Means Video and Means HD Voice…. 3 different Mobile VAS Categories Mobile Commerce. Within this 2 categories – mobile banking and mobile payments. Mobile banking: Some kind of transaction, like checking your account balance, or moving money around from one type of account to another. Mobile payments: buying movie tickets using mobile phone, buying something from a vending machine. Potentially use technologies like USSD (which is used to query pre-paid account balances but instead use for payment as well). In this example here, we have a coffee advertisement, with a UPC symbol as the coupon to get something off if go in and buy within a certain time period. Entertainment: Video Ringtones, Video SMS, Games, Televoting (for baseball, at the NY Mets for instnace, you can voice on which song to sing along to, you can vote on which video is better, etc.). Dating/chatting also falls into this category. Information: Personal relevant information like stock quotes, news, sports news, and video sharing as shown here – look at videos peer to peer like shown here, or look at video cameras to your cell phone (like surveillance applications). This right content to right person at right time. Maybe even think of this like a video RSS feed. Also Conferencing and Video Conferencing would apply here. Mixed in with this is web 2.0 interaction. The social networking will permeate much of the applications, and leverage mobile commerce and of course video. This will require the right opportunities to support it all. We have some in Columbia who’s created a Facebook integrated video chat application. So we’re going to see more and more of this. Dialogic also sponsored a study with Heavy Reading last year regarding their top challenges and what they are looking to change. You will see that in George’s presentation later. But interaction with Web applications is a key area of interest. YouTube is also important. We’re talking IP streaming here. How do you affect that video stream with something interesting? Can you “manipulate” it to put in an advertisement for instance? HD Voice: Wideband Audio is Simply easier to understand On this slide, see announcement from Dec 8, 2008 about Orange’s service. Polycom also very involved in the enterprise. There is the HD Connect consortium, which Dialogic is part of (and joined Sept 15, 2009) and the HD Voice conference in NY, which Dialogic also spoke at. 9/10/09: Orange Moldova has upgraded the voice sound quality on its network to support the WB-AMR codex. This is the second step in Orange's high-definition (HD) voice strategy, following on from the launch of a high-definition voice service for VoIP calls in 2006. Over 500,000 Livephone devices have already been sold in France and the range will be extended to other Orange countries over the coming months. The first mobile handset integrating high-definition voice capability that will be launched by Orange Moldova is the Nokia 6720c. Background noise is also faded out to provide clearer voice conversations creating a feeling of proximity between both parties. Orange plans to rapidly extend the range of HD voice-compatible mobile handsets across Europe. The Group plans to introduce HD voice services to the UK and Belgium markets by the end of 2010 and believes that these handsets will represent the majority of the 3G handsets sold within five years.
