Acceleration is defined as a change in an object's speed or direction over a period of time, which can be calculated using the formula acceleration = change in velocity / time. Acceleration is measured in meters per second squared (m/s^2). Slowing down is also a type of acceleration called deceleration or negative acceleration. Constant acceleration refers to a steady change in velocity where the velocity changes by the same amount each second.
