This document provides information about the NetSoc Project workshop in October 2012. The NetSoc Project aims to define networking requirements for 2020 by involving sectors like content delivery and industrial applications. It seeks to facilitate discussions around strategic research agendas and their creation between technology areas and other sectors. The project objectives are to compile strategic research agendas, facilitate interactions between usage areas, and contribute to policy discussions. The NetSoc Project is funded by the European Commission and runs from 2012 to 2014. It is coordinated by Eurescom GmbH.

 To define the requirements for Networked
Society of 2020 by:
 involving terrestrial, satellite, content delivery, as well as
industrial and social application sectors
 enabling a substantial dialogue and policy debate within the ICT
areas and among various sectors
 active dissemination of ICT SRA’s and their creation in
interaction with other sectors
 ensuring the correct positioning of networks and other ICT
related issues in Horizon 2020
 Supporting discussion on future of ETPs

 Integrating Net!Works, ISI, & NEM views and cross-sector
technology issues
 To produce position papers / white papers
 To facilitate usage area interactions

policy discussions
