10 Page Essay
Embarking on the task of crafting a 10-page essay is no small feat; it's akin to navigating a vast
intellectual landscape where every word must contribute meaningfully to the overarching
narrative. The difficulty lies not only in the sheer length of the essay but also in the necessity to
maintain coherence, depth, and engagement throughout each page. As the writer, you find
yourself walking a tightrope between providing sufficient detail and avoiding unnecessary
verbosity.
The challenge begins with the initial stages of research, where one must sift through a myriad of
sources to gather relevant information and insights. This process demands a discerning eye to
separate the wheat from the chaff and discern the most pertinent details that will contribute to
the essay's substance. Once armed with the necessary knowledge, the next hurdle emerges –
structuring the essay.
Creating a comprehensive outline becomes imperative to ensure a logical flow of ideas and
arguments. Organizing thoughts in a coherent manner that aligns with the chosen thesis
statement requires both creativity and strategic thinking. Each paragraph must seamlessly
connect to the next, fostering a cohesive narrative that captivates the reader's attention and
sustains it throughout the extended journey.
The challenge compounds when striving for depth and originality. A 10-page essay demands a
thorough exploration of the chosen topic, delving into nuanced perspectives and presenting a
comprehensive analysis. This requires a delicate balance between breadth and depth, avoiding
superficiality while also ensuring that the reader doesn't get lost in the intricacies.
Moreover, maintaining the reader's interest over an extended period poses a challenge.
Sustaining a compelling writing style throughout the entire essay requires a keen awareness of
pacing, tone, and variation. Otherwise, there is a risk of monotony setting in, and the reader's
attention may waver.
As the pages accumulate, so does the pressure to conclude the essay in a manner that leaves a
lasting impression. Crafting a powerful and resonant conclusion that synthesizes the key
arguments while opening up avenues for further thought requires finesse. It is a delicate art that
demands precision and an acute understanding of the essay's overarching purpose.
In the grand tapestry of essay writing, the process is not merely an exercise in transferring
thoughts onto paper but a meticulous journey that demands intellectual rigor, creativity, and
perseverance. While the difficulty may be inherent, the satisfaction of crafting a well-executed
10-page essay is equally profound.
For those seeking assistance in navigating this formidable task, there are resources available.

Predator Prey Lab Report Essay
PREDATOR PREY RELATIONS LAB Background Research: Predators and prey
are organisms that interrelate, and they can influence on another s success in
reproduction. Predators are organisms that consume other organisms their prey.
These two organisms evolve together. They live in an environment where they must
develop certain adaptations to survive. When an adaptation is developed, it gives an
organism certain physical characteristics that create an advantage for survival and
can come to dominate in a population. An adaptation aids survival by either
decreasing a prey s chance of being eaten, or by increasing a predator s chance of
obtaining food to survive and reproduce. Predators must fight for food. They face
density independent... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The predators may, however, dash in and pick up any prey being pursued by
another predator. Do not hesitate to intrude, any hungry natural predator would
not. Hunting time will be 5 minutes. When the teacher or the wildfire comes
around and touches any of the students, they must step out of the playing area for
fifteen seconds. When told to stop, each student will tally up his kills . If a
predator is in the process of capturing a prey when told to stop, he must drop it. 6.
Repeat this process for each generation and make the proper adjustments required
for each. 7. At the end of the lab, share your data with the class and add up the
number of prey killed. Observations: In certain parts of the field, the grass was very
tall and the prey that were in that area were very difficult to find. Because of this
many predators ignored the grassy areas which caused a lot of competition for
prey in the other areas of the field. Certain prey such as the corn was easily
concealed in the grass because of its small size. However, in the dirt area, the color
of the corn really made it stand out. In the dirt area of the field, the pinto beans
were concealed because its camouflage characteristics allowed it blended in with the
dirt, but it stuck out in the grass. The black beans were small black so it was
concealed it both the grass and the dirt. The lima
The Old Capital By Yasunari Kawabata
In Yasunari Kawabata s book the old capital, there is a profounding amount of
beauty which is described. One could even argue that the story of Chieko is of
secondary importance to describing the beauty of Kyoto. In every part of the book
there always seems to be a reference to nature and the seasons . In most instances,
nature as well as the traditional Japanese festivals in the noveloften symbolize the
parallel of a new modernizing japan and the old traditional Japan. However, more
importantly, the seasonal imagery parallels the story of Chieko herself and the
moods she is feeling. It is no coincidence that kawabata s first chapter is called the
flowers of spring while the last chapter is called winter flowers. As the title of the
first chapter suggests, the beginning of the novel is filled with spring imagery.
Spring in Japanese culture is an interesting time because it symbolizes new life. It s
also the time of year that the cherryblossoms begin to bloom. This sense of new life
is also somewhat portrayed in Chieko at this point in the book. Chieko has only
just recently turned 20 and she is brimming with life, even if she does seem to have
a few worries on her mind. Chieko s parents even say to Chieko that she was taken
from her parents from a cherry blossomtree in Gion. Besides the cherry blossoms,
there is one other flower that Chieko seems to take an interest in during the spring.
Chieko describes the 2 violets which are attached to the maple tree in her garden
Argumentative Essay On Gene Therapy
Every day, babies are born that will suffer from some sort of genetic disease. As
science is progressing, those diagnosed with these diseases are approaching an
option that could help relieve the symptoms and eventually cure their illness. One
of the first clinical trial patients for this new medical discovery was Mr. Robert
Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun was a 33 year old male who suffered from cystic fibrosis.
Under direction of Dr. Konstan at University of Cleveland, a research team
successfully administered the corrected geneto patient Robert Calhoun through a
nasal drip. After a biopsy of the nasal tissue it was determined the protein
administered to Mr. Calhoun had replaced the faulty gene. This allowed Robert to
cure his cystic fibrosis and lead a more normal, healthy life ( Novel Gene Therapy1).
While gene therapy offers many great benefits to the medical world, there are still
some risks involved in receiving the treatment.
Within everybody there are thousands of genes that determine who people are, what
they look like, and how their body functions. When one is conceived, every one of
the genes that make up who they will be are laid out within their DNA in a certain
sequence. When these genes create an error, it can create genetic diseases such as
sickle cell, cystic fibrosis, and sometimes cancer. Before, those diagnosed with these
genetic diseases seemed to have no cure in sight. Now, with gene therapy they have
hope. Gene therapy is the process of
Essay On Driving Under The Influence
Driving under the influence (DUI) is a serious criminal offense in Georgia. While
most offenses are considered a misdemeanor, drivers can still face serious
consequences. This is why it is always a good idea to contact a DUI lawyer
immediately after being arrested.
What Is Considered a DUI?
In Georgia, drivers may be charged with a DUI if police suspect that someone is
driving under the influence. In most cases, you must have a blood alcohol content of
0.08 percent or more. However, it can be as low as 0.04 percent for those driving a
commercial vehicle. For those under 21 years of age, driving with an alcohol blood
content of just 0.02 percent can result in a DUI.
Penalties for Driving Under the Influence
There are many possible penalties for driving under the influence. ... Show more

In most cases, drivers are allowed to drive to their place of employment. They may
also be able to drive to dependency classes, community service, and doctor
appointments. However, all driving activity must be planned in advance.
Ignition Interlock Device
For those with multiple offenses on their record, the state of Georgia may require
the driver to install an ignition interlock device. This device might sound intimating,
but it s actually a simple tool. Before the vehicle will start, the driver must take a
breathalyzer. If the device detects any alcohol, the vehicle will start up. While it s
simple enough, it can be overly sensitive. For example, mouthwash or cooking brandy
could trigger the device.
While both of these options will allow drivers to keep driving, they will minimize the
chances of receiving another DUI charge.
Getting Help
If you have been charged with a DUI in Georgia, you should hire a lawyer to fight by
your side. DUI cases are very serious offenses, especially in Georgia. For more
information or general DUI help, contact Jones Boykin
Pete Seeger Bring Em Home
The song Bring em Home was a protest song about the Vietnam War. The song was
written and performed by Pete Seeger. Pete Seeger was born in May 3, 1919. Since
birth Pete Seeger had a musical orientated childhood. His parents were both involved
with music in some way. His father majored in musicology and his mother was a
concert violinist. Pete became interested with music in his teenage years. Pete went
on to the Harvard University but later dropped out to go on the road and preformed
with song writer Woody Guthrie. A couple of years after Pete had been traveling and
preforming, he was drafted in the VietnamWar. After the war was over Pete began
preforming again. The Vietnam War was fought from 1954 1973, and it was a fairly

The song was written by Phil Ochs. Ochs like Seeger was a college dropout, but he
went to school one more year than Seeger did. After Phil Ochs dropped out of
college he started his route to New York City. Sonnyochs.com says, Phil stated out
singing at open mikes and passing the hat (Phil Ochs Biography). Phil like Seeger
wrote several different protest songs and he even had a couple of albums that had
his protest songs in them. His protest son What are you fighting for was a bit
different than Seeger s song Bring em Home . Seeger s protest song was fairly
short and every other line had the title of the song in it. Ochs song was a bit
different. Both songs got the point across but in different ways. Ochs song was
more of a song the people could listen to on the radio and get some enjoyment out
of it. It was a normal running song so it kept the listener interested for the whole
runtime. Ochs song only had the title of the song in it 8 times to Seeger s 42 times.
One of the lines in the song What are you fighting for says, And before you walk
out on your job in answer to the call, just think about the millions that have no job
at all . That line has a pretty big meaning by saying that you are just going to leave
your job for nothing. There are a lot of people in the country that would love to have
a job and people just quit their jobs to go to the Vietnam War. That s one thing that
Marcus Brutus In The Tragedy Of Julius Caesar
The famous Shakespeare play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar is a tragedy which
depicts the downfall of Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar only comes to power after he
takes out Rome s previous leader, Pompey. The common people immediately love
Caesar except for a few who foresaw that he will become a tyrant if they allow him
to become one. One of those people is Julius s best friend Marcus Brutus. Brutus
betrays Caesar in the end by literally stabbing him in the back. One of Caesar s most
loyal friends, Mark Antony, then gathers the commoners and turns them against
Marcus Brutus, which is the cause of Marcus Brutus s downfall. In The Tragedy of
Julius Caesar, William Shakespeare uses Julius Caesar, Marcus Brutus, and Caius
Cassius to show how ambition... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prior to Caesar s death, Cassius complains that Caesar has too much power, and it
becomes apparent that Cassius wants to take him out so that the power can be in
his own hands. Cassius enlisted the help of Brutus because he knew that none of
the plan would work in Brutus was not a part of it. Subsequently Caesar s death,
Cassius wasted no time to attempt to take control of Rome, but Mark Antony
stood in his way. All along Cassius thought he knew what he was seeking, but once
he finally achieved, Cassius realizes what he had been striving for ruined his life.
That is shown when Cassius says, I had as lief not be as live to be in awe of such a
thing as I myself... (1.2.102 103). What Cassius is trying to say is he would rather
not live at all than to live and have to worship someone as ordinary as himself. This
reveals that Cassius originally thought that it would be easy to rule. Cassius quickly
discovers that ruling Rome is not as luxurious as it appears. Much like Brutus,
Cassius allows his ambitions to consume himself, which is the major cause of his
Class Based On Several Elements
Final Reflection Essay
I was in English 111 this semester and this is my self assessment on how I did in the
class based on several elements. I will base it off of the four P s: Participation,
Performance, Progress, and Process. I will go in to detail about how I performed
in these areas over the semester. I will also reflect on one of my Midterm skills
and tell how I improved on it over the semester. I will then talk about my Overall
Skill Development throughout the semester. I feel overall I did decent in these areas
considering I had a lot of personal things going on in my life this semester.
The first P I will discuss is my participation in class. My attendance with this class
was pretty fair. I did have a few circumstances that ... Show more content on

After those first couple of weeks though I came to class prepared every time that
the class met. I did very well in this area and rate myself a 9 because I had my
books, binder, pens, and my assignments completed that needed to be brought to
class every time that the class met. I know I did not do good with being prepared
for some of my meeting but there were certain circumstances that kept me from
going and I could not make it. I hope to improve on my attendance and being
prepared for meetings with the teacher in my next English class. I will change this
because I do not need to miss a lot of days in class. I will also be more prepared for
my meetings with my teacher because I need those conferences so the teacher can
help me out in the class. Overall I believe I did pretty fair with this area in the class
and will continue to improve on what needs to be improved next semester.
I will discuss my performance and progress based on two areas of writing in the class.
The two areas I will reflect on are my essay writing and following the MEAL plan in
my writing. I believe that I improved with my essays over the semester with this
class. My first couple of essays were horrible, but my last few essays turned out to be
great because I finally got help and more feedback from others. Here is a screenshot
of my first rhetorical analysis essay. It was about if everyone should go to college. I
did a poor job on this because I just summarized what the author did. Now the
Similarities Between Gertrude And Ophelia
Being the only two female characters in the play Hamlet, Gertrude and Ophelia are
quite comparable to one another. Although very different these women seem to be
trapped in similar circumstances in relation to hamlet. Both these women care for
Hamlet in a similar way, one as his mother and one as his lover. Being involved with
Hamletshapes and brings life to their characters, eventually bringing an end to these
characters as well. Ophelia is an innocent, young womanin reality, but because
Hamlet s opinion of women in general has been morphed by his mother, Gertrude,
Hamlet changes from being in love with Ophelia to viewing her as a representation
of her sex. Gertrude changed Hamlets view on women due to her hasty marriage to

Why I Am A Psychologist, The State Of Kentucky One

Licensure Paper I have wanted to be a psychologist most of my life. In order to
become a licensed psychologist in the State of Kentucky one must first obtain
licensure. According to The Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology (2007)
the Kentucky Revised Statutes, KRS 319.005 states that no one by law is allowed
to use the title of psychologist, practice as a psychologist, or in any way cause
others to believe that they possess credentials to do so, unless they have been
licensed by the board.
Since I am not one for breaking the law I decided to pursue my goal of becoming a
psychologist and go to college. After graduating with my B.S. in Psychology from the

and looking into schools. I wanted to know what type of curriculum and
accreditation the school need to have in order for me to apply for licensure. On
October 8, 2012 she responded to me via email with the following information.
The Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology is frequently asked ... (about)

Paula Scher
BRIEF OPENING
Paula Scher, also known as America s first design lady, is a graphic designer,
illustrator and art educator. The Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia is where Paula
Scher majored in illustration and finished her BFA in nineteen seventy. As a student
Scher abstained from graphic design as she was short of the required tidiness artistry,
and she did not like aligning Helvetica on a framework. The act of organizing the
Helvetica type face on a grid reminded me of cleaning up my room, she admitted.
Drawing was her tender spot, so she adopted an approach which was to illustrate

Conceiving images that communicates with the public s feelings, the designs she
made become observably equivalent to the New York retro movement. Retro art is
a genre of pop art, is amplified during the nineteen forties and nineteen fifties, it was
a reaction to the demand for courageous, attractive graphics. Scher had an eye for
bringing together different typing, leading, churning and coloring blended together
in a bold and very astonishing way. The BAM!!! effect to some extent has a flashing
impact to the design which is her way of visualizing, expressing and exemplifying
the retro by means of conventional methods. Fig:3 shows a poster done by Scher for
the public theater, A Retro Style .
Scher s justification for her style and approach is plainly a counter for dissatisfaction
with the type face Helvetica along with her rebellious mind set, that differentiated her
among other artist by breaking the so called rules .

Is Pearl Harbor Right Or Wrong Essay
The time leading up into World War 2, was a tough and harsh time, that ended in a
devastating attack on Pearl Harbor. Many Americans, including President
Woodrow Wilson, saw Pearl Harbor as a great shock because they believed that
Japan was not strong enough to do something like that. Many believed Japan had a
weak military, and was not capable for making such a bad situation. But for other
Americans, including Secretary of State, Cordell Hull, believed that an attack on
U.S, was possible, and very likely. The U.S, underestimated the Japanese, as a world
power, and this later showed to prove them wrong in the surprise attack on Pearl
Harbor. Events such has the Tripartite Pact, and the changed radio signals, created
suspicion for a possible attack on Pearl Harbor. The U.S, underestimated the

Nt1110 Memory Lab Report
In computer organization and architecture, memory is the most important part of a
computer. Every computer must have its own memory. Memory represents two
stable or semi stable states that are representing 1 and 0. It is capable of being
written to at least once and read multiple times. In this lab, we will learn briefly on
two parts of memory only, which are RAM and ROM. As we know that a memory
can either be non volatile (as seen in a read only memory) or volatile (used in
random access memory).
There are several types of semiconductor memory, such as Random Access Memory
(RAM), Read Only Memory (ROM), Programmable Read Only Memory (PROM),
Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EPROM), Electronically Erasable
Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) and Flash Memory. There are many
types of RAM, such as Static RAM (SRAM), Dynamic RAM (DRAM), Synchronous

ROM is a form of semiconductor that can be written to. It was used to store the
programs called firmware that a computer executes when switched on. ROM is still
used in systems with constant functionalities. PROM is similar to ROM but allows
the users to write their own programs and data. However, it needs a special PROM
writing equipment. For EPROM, we can erase the data of the chips and rewrite
with new information. It is normally used to store the boot program of a computer
(firmware), which is known as Basic I/O System (BIOS). EEPROM supports
updates to individual bytes whereas EPROM updates the whole memory. FLASH
memory is a cheaper type of EEPROM where updates can only be carried out on the
blocks of memory but not on individual bytes. It is found in USB sticks, flash cards
and typically range from 1 GB to 32

amphibious operation conducted in World War II. Operation HUSKY involved the
U.S. 7th Army and the British 8th Army to make up the 15th Army Group. This was
Anglo American forces second problematic attempt to implement Eisenhower s
unyielding vision that the only way to conquer the Germans, would be won by the
Americans and Britons fighting together. Although a moderate success, Operation

Cleisthenes As An Opportunist
Cleisthenes was the Athenian politician setting the stage of democracy around c.520
BC and to c.400 BC. An opportunist is defined by Oxford dictionaries as: A person
who takes advantage of opportunities as and when they arise, regardless of planning
or principle . For many, this sums up the rule of Cleisthenesas he took advantage of
the anti tyrannical movement and of the power he was given to improve the position
of himself and his Alcmaeonid family. However, this essay will argue that although
Cleisthenes did take advantage of opportunities, he was ultimately very principled in
nature and was actually a reactionist. This is to say that he reacted to problems and
events that occurred and dealt with them the best he could, rather than taking
advantage of the opportunity to better himself, the elite classes or his family.
To many, Cleisthenes was simply an opportunist. One way he can be said to be
opportunistic is during his rise to power. This idea has stemmed from the ancient
Greek author Herodotus, and in parts Aristotle as well. On the whole, these are two
ancient authors with semi opposing views, with Herodotus being a stronger source
for stating Cleisthenes was an opportunist. The main reason most historians believe
that Cleisthenes was an opportunist is because of the account from Herodotus
histories. The account is as follows: these two [Isagoras and Cleisthenes] were rivals
for power, and Cleisthenes, who was getting the worst of it, took the people into his

interstellar medium of gas and dust, and dark matter. It was named after the milk
because of its appearance. It happen to look as a dim glowing arching across the
night sky that can only be seen by the telescope. The Milky Way is a combination of
different aspects that contributes to its incredibility. These include the age,
surrounding galaxies, and clusters. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Milky Way was first determined by Galileo Galilei with his telescope in 1610.
Thanks to Galileo because before the use of his telescope, the formation of stars
was a confusion to most astronomers. With the use of a telescope, Galileo studied
the Milky Way and discovered that it was composed of a huge number of faint
stars. There was a confusion on stars. Until 1920, astronomers thought that all stars
were contained inside of the Milky Way. After Galileo s telescope, other
astronomers became more creative on understanding that the Milky Way is just one
of many galaxies now known to be billions. The Milky Way contains more than one
planet like the solar system which is located within the disk. The solar system is
located on the constellation of gas and dust called the Orion Arm (Wikipedia

The Cost Of Public Transportation In The United States
Amongst the many choices we have to make today, we also must make a decision on
how we will get from point A to point B utilizing public transportation or our own
vehicles. Public transportation generally includes busses or trams for getting around
town, and many large cities have commuter trains. While there are other forms of
transportation such as taxis and for hire cars such as Uber, they can only move much
smaller groups of people at a time. Public transportation in the United States and other
developed countries is relatively safe, but recent issues regarding accidents is also
taken into consideration. Some things to consider are comfort and convenience, cost,
and environmental effects.

These vehicles are environmentally friendly. If everyone used their own cars, there
would be a traffic worse than the congestion we typically experience. There will be
a decrease in fumes and traffic which also means less pollution. Therefore, it will be
less dangerous for global warming.
To sum it up, having a car is a very useful vehicle that offers many advantages.
Public transportation has high capacity, saves energy and its cheap, but is less
comfortable and less expensive. Public transit is more convenient for some people for
many reasons. Using private cars is somewhat expensive and produces more pollution
on atmosphere than public transport. All in all, public transport is known to be more
efficient and cheaper than private cars. Whichever form of transportation is chosen, it
really depends on the person, their likes and dislikes and what they think is most
affordable to
Compare And Contrast The American Empire And Ottoman
Empire
Throughout history there has been times when empire building and expansion were
very popular. During the Early Modern Era, from 1450 1750, this occurred a lot. The
European, Russian, Chinese, Mughal and, Ottoman empires were all being built
around the same time. An empire is a group of states or countries under one supreme
ruler. When the empireis divided by an ocean or has part of it distant from the other,
the part away from the mainland is known as a colony and the homeland is the
Mother Country. This took place many times during this time period when the
Americas were first discovered by people native to the Eastern Hemisphere. Between
1450 and 1750 AD, the European, and the Russian, Chinese, Mughal and Ottoman
empires were similar... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The European empires colonized the Americas, so they had to cross the Atlantic
ocean to get there. This gave them more goods to trade with because the Americas
had different natural resources than Europe and Asia. The empires without colonies
had faster trade because there wasn t that great distance but the new things they
needed they got from the empires with colonies in the Americas. The empires with
the colonies in America had the advantage. The European Empires were also different
from the Russian, Chinese, Mughal, and Ottoman Empires in that Europe hurt the
unintentionally natives of the land they took over while the other empires did not.
Since Europe was building empires in another continent, many things would be
different. A major difference was the immune systems of the people. The europeans
had immunities to certain diseases such as bubonic plague, pneumonic plague,,
influenza, measles, scarlet fever, smallpox, and tuberculosis, because they had been
exposed to them before. Since the Native Americans were never exposed to them,
they never built immunities. When the Europeans came to the Americans they
carried the diseases without knowing. Making majority of the population sick.
Tribe after tribe they died because they could not fight these diseases. This clearly
made more room for the Europeans but in a tragic way. Similarly, the European
Empires were different from the Russian, Chinese, Mughal, and Ottoman Empires in
their reasonings for expansion. Europe expanded across the Atlantic Ocean because
they were geographically at an advantage. They had access to this new land the for
the other places to get to it would either take too long or they would physically have
to go through the European s land to get there. They had this advantage and took it

Question 2 In The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, which social groups
are marginalized, excluded, or silenced within the text?
____________________________________________________________________________
The topic of racism and exclusion is shown in the real world and has been shown in
America since the very beginning. Ever since 1492, when Columbus discovered the
Americas, there was an instant leverage in terms of power over minorities. Over time,
whites and other minorities have had a conflicting relationship in society. In the
book, The Lone Ranger and TontoFistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie the natives
living on reservations are excluded and mistreated in society. There are examples
throughout the book where the natives living on the reservation are marginalized,
excluded and silenced within the text displaying the topic of racism.
The topic of racism is big in The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven. The
reservation is an example of racism, straight off the beginning of the book it is

George Gershwin Essay examples
George Gershwin is one of the greatest influences to American music in the 20th
century. His compositions can be found throughout the entertainment world, ranging
from Broadway to motion pictures. Though he had a short career, George Gershwin s
music continues to bring inspiration and delight almost sixty years later. On
September 26, 1898 George Gershwinwas born to the Gershowitz family as Jacob
Gershowitz. The Gershowitzs were an immigrant family that lived in Brooklyn, NY
at the time. His parents, Morris and Rose, were Russian immigrants that owned a
restaurant. George was the second of four children with older brother Ira, younger
sister Francis, and younger brother Arthur. Over time, George accepted being called

Although it was barely in the entertainment world, this piece was very important
for Gershwin because it showed him that his work could be published and sold. It
led him to create his first success, Swanee, that was used in the Broadway play
Sinbad. This success caused him to write his first full length Broadway score for the
production La, La Lucille that same year. At this time, Gershwin s career
skyrocketed. He was hired by George White to compose for the Scandals series. He
continued doing this for four years. During this time, Gershwin composed his first
operetta, Blue Monday. It impressed Paul Whiteman, a famous bandleader, so much
that he asked Gershwin to compose a symphonic jazz piece. At this time, however,
Gershwin was still busy composing for White and forgot to compose for Whiteman
until only one month before the scheduled performance. During this rushed creation,
Gershwin found inspiration to create his most famous individual piece, Rhapsody in
Blue. At its first performance, the piece was loved by the audience so much that they
gave it a standing ovation.
Soon after this, Gershwin began producing plays with his brother Ira. George
would compose the music, and Ira would create the lyrics. This prolific partnership
created many plays including Tip Toes, Oh Kay!, Strike Up the Band, Funny Face,
Girl Crazy, Of Thee I Sing, which won a Pulitzer prize. George also created many
songs at this time including Clap Yo Hands, Strike Up the

He believed that discrimination around the world should be prohibited, or banned.
Johnson, as a U.S. senator, felt that he could help protect the civil rights, by signing
the bill. Today, many people still are determining if President Johnson signed the bill
to help him win the Presidential election, or if he did it because he felt that it was the
right thing to do. There are a few documents to help us find out.... On March 15,
1965, President Johnson made a speech titled The American Promise. It was around

Megan Kanka and several other children have been the reason for the safety of

person contributed to the safety of other children. Well Megan Kanko was a 7

Hamilton Township, New Jersey. The difference between then and now is that in
the past there were no laws stating that pedophiles had to inform those who lived
near them that they were there, of their past convictions, or even some type of

World War One lasted through the years 1914 1918. It involved two alliances The
Triple Entente (Britain, France and Russia) and The
Triple Alliance (Germany, Austria Hungary and Italy). With every great super power
in Europe all becoming more and more politically hostile with each other, and arming
themselves more and more, World War One was a time bomb waiting to explode.
When Austria Hungary Archduke
Franz Ferdinand was on an official visit to the recently claimed

Austria Hungary, being distraught, blamed Serbia, who denied all knowledge, whom,

Austria Hungary eventually, invaded Russia with the help of Germany to begin what

Much of the fighting in World War One was done on small areas of land,
sometimes as small as 75 yards or so across, with trenches on either side. Men would

Rhetorical Analysis Of Henry s Speech
Paragraph One
In the beginning of the speech, Henry uses a cautious but also assertive tone.
In delivering this speech, Henry intended to highlight the problems caused by Britain,
and convince the American people to fight back against British rule.
Phrases such as the majesty of heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings and
nothing less then a question of freedom or slavery showcase usage of antithesis in the
speech.
Henry is appealing to the patriotism and emotions of his audience by mentioning
things such as a question of freedom or slavery , the great responsibility which we
hold to God and our country , and the very worth gentlemen who have just addressed
the House .
By comparing the majesty of heaven to earthly kings , Henry is appealing to ethos,
or the audience s concept of ethics.
The phrase freely, and without reserve is an example of parallelism. References to
God are an example of allusion, as most of Henry s audience practiced Christianity.
Paragraph Two
The purpose of this section of the talk is to show people s desire to ignore the truth
about the state of their country, and to warn against doing so.
Henry is trying to show how one s default or natural response to the hardships they
were facing at the hands of British rule might be to turn their head the other way.
Henry s reference to Ezekiel 12:2 ( having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not )
was a way to draw attention to injustices that he saw among the American people.

Because online education is based on information technology, students, teachers,

First of all, students will end up bearing the losses once these devices malfunction

were many students who had trouble with technical issues in online education, and
these technical issues severely impact their learning. Online education over

the Microsoft windows 7 cashed 7.1 times monthly on average (TWCN, 2012).
These data show that the breakdown is not rare in most electronic devices required

An Ethical Dilemma Regarding The Hiring Of A New
Organization
The FIDA organization faces an ethical dilemma regarding the hiring of a new
organizational leader. Consideration is being given to someone who expects a
salary far outside FIDA s ethical compass used to establish salaries. Applying either
a care ethics or the Rawls s difference principle of ethical reasoning to the
circumstance supports not hiring the person. However, applying the Rawls s
difference principle provides the stronger argument in support of this decision, as it
allows the decision maker to impartially determine if the decision is just and fair for
the broadest group of key stakeholders affected.
As a global justice organization, FIDA employs a hiring policy that provides for a
limit on the salary of employees to be hired. Thus, the highest paid salary will not
exceed three times that which is paid to the lowest paid member of the organization.
However, FIDA needs a new chief executive officerand is considering a candidate,
Joan, who wants three times the outgoing officer s salary. Joan has indicated that
she is worthy of the higher salary as she can significantly increase funds raised.
Applying the Rawls s difference principle would support hiring Joan at the higher
salary only if it resulted in a greater share of resources available to all stakeholders
and benefited the least well off of that group. Therefore, the key stakeholders must be
identified and it must be determined whether they would be better off under the
circumstances.

Hagen was the guy that spilled Sigfrid s secret to Gunther that, Sigfrid had killed a
dragon and bath in his blood, is body became invulnerable because of the dragon s

leaf fell landing between Sigfrid s shoulder blades. Hagen showed noble bearing
acts throughout the story. For example, towards the end of the story Kriemhild
burns down the hall down that Hagen and his men were in seeking revenge for
killing her husband Sigfrid and he stays strong encouraging his men to drink the

Hagen did not tell the truth all the time and he even turned his back on foe. On

Social Construction Of Nature And Environmental Change
The assignment this week challenged us to utilize our course objectives to address
the requirements of the assignment. The objectives include how to apply the
concepts of political ecology to environmental concerns, analyze the link between
social, cultural, geographic, cultural, political factors, and environmental change, as
well as assess methodological approaches used for research in political ecology. In
addition, this assignment will discuss how reserves and national parks have been
socially constructed/produced to be protected areas. Following this discussion, the
conversation will include an overview of how this construction of national parks and
reserves may result in the property rights reconstructing the resource into a rival
good. Moreover, I will provide a brief discussion on the relationship between social
construction of nature and environmental change. In conclusion, I will briefly review
case studies and frameworks that are related to the conservation of biodiversity.
The ability to apply concepts of political ecology to environmental concerns enables
one to understand why national parks and reserves have been socially constructed

because of the presence of given environmental concerns. The article Ways of Seeing

Cause And Effect Of Hearing Loss
The biggest handicap in the world is negative thinking and that people handicap
themselves by concentrating only on the negative instead of the positive, said
Heather Whitestone (Premiere SPeakers Bureau). Even though Heather Whitestone
was deaf, she showed the world that she was going to have to work hard to achieve
success. Many people in the world are affected by hearing loss. About two million
people in the United States are completely deaf, while eighteen to twenty one people
need hearing impairments (Mango 21). Symptoms of hearing loss may include
difficulty understanding words or phrases. Needing to turn the volume up, avoiding
social situations, and trouble hearing consonants are also signs of hearing loss
(Mayo Clinic Staff). There are many types of hearing loss that can be gained.
Congenital deafness is when someone is born being deaf. Three out of every one
thousand infants in the United States are born with congenital deafness (Sheen 16).
Another type of hearing loss is the conductive deafness. In this case, the outer and
middle ears, which send sound waves to the inner ear, are having the hearing
problems (11). Lastly, sensorineural hearing lossis when there is damage in the inner
ear. The inner ear s job is to convert sound waves to electrical or neutral impulses,
so then it can be carried to the brain and be translated (15). Causes of hearing loss
include environmental and natural causes. A premature baby is at a higher risk of
being deaf (18). Ear
Essay on Comparison of Pope and Swift
Alexander Pope and Jonathan Swift in their respective poems, The Rape of the Lock
and The Progress of Beauty, offer opposite representations of the nature and function
of cosmetics in eighteenth century society. In The Rape of the Lock, Pope gives a
positive representation of cosmetic s nature and function in eighteenth century
society. On the other hand, Swift s representation takes a very negative tone. Both
poets clearly appreciate and admire the natural beauty of a woman and their opposite
opinions and therefore representation of the nature and function of cosmetics, springs
from this admiration. Pope, whilst slightly ridiculing cosmetics through his use of
satire, represents cosmetics in a positive light through portraying it as... Show more

However the satire is predominately light hearted, indicating Pope s optimistic and
light hearted feelings towards the use of cosmetics in eighteenth century society.
The satire Pope uses on cosmetics does not put a negative tone on the use of
cosmetics, but rather puts into question Belinda s, and therefore other women s
priorities. In Pope s poem, a bible as such belongs with puffs and patches. Keener s
point in writing this is that Pope, by throwing in something as important as the
bible with things as futile as puffs and powders and patches, is satirizing Belinda s
priorities; for Belinda, religion is just as important as her appearance. Pope does
not represent cosmetics as having a negative nature through his satire, but rather
shows the futility of women caring as much about their appearance as they do
about God. This is the only real satire Pope uses in relation to the use of cosmetics.
It may be argued that Pope is using this to show the negative function of cosmetics
in eighteenth century society in that it distracts women from God. However, vanity
is something that can exist with or without the presence of cosmetics. Even in Eden,
Eve was distracted by her own beauty, giving in to vanity. Therefore it would be fair
to argue that this being the only presence of satire of cosmetics in The Rape of the
Lock, Pope maintains his representation of the nature and

because he disliked the man s eye, even though he felt no negativity towards him
otherwise. The narrator is motivated by his insanity that makes him believe the old

uncertainty towards the man when he states, one of his eyes resembled a vulture a

  • 1. 10 Page Essay Embarking on the task of crafting a 10-page essay is no small feat; it's akin to navigating a vast intellectual landscape where every word must contribute meaningfully to the overarching narrative. The difficulty lies not only in the sheer length of the essay but also in the necessity to maintain coherence, depth, and engagement throughout each page. As the writer, you find yourself walking a tightrope between providing sufficient detail and avoiding unnecessary verbosity. The challenge begins with the initial stages of research, where one must sift through a myriad of sources to gather relevant information and insights. This process demands a discerning eye to separate the wheat from the chaff and discern the most pertinent details that will contribute to the essay's substance. Once armed with the necessary knowledge, the next hurdle emerges – structuring the essay. Creating a comprehensive outline becomes imperative to ensure a logical flow of ideas and arguments. Organizing thoughts in a coherent manner that aligns with the chosen thesis statement requires both creativity and strategic thinking. Each paragraph must seamlessly connect to the next, fostering a cohesive narrative that captivates the reader's attention and sustains it throughout the extended journey. The challenge compounds when striving for depth and originality. A 10-page essay demands a thorough exploration of the chosen topic, delving into nuanced perspectives and presenting a comprehensive analysis. This requires a delicate balance between breadth and depth, avoiding superficiality while also ensuring that the reader doesn't get lost in the intricacies. Moreover, maintaining the reader's interest over an extended period poses a challenge. Sustaining a compelling writing style throughout the entire essay requires a keen awareness of pacing, tone, and variation. Otherwise, there is a risk of monotony setting in, and the reader's attention may waver. As the pages accumulate, so does the pressure to conclude the essay in a manner that leaves a lasting impression. Crafting a powerful and resonant conclusion that synthesizes the key arguments while opening up avenues for further thought requires finesse. It is a delicate art that demands precision and an acute understanding of the essay's overarching purpose. In the grand tapestry of essay writing, the process is not merely an exercise in transferring thoughts onto paper but a meticulous journey that demands intellectual rigor, creativity, and perseverance. While the difficulty may be inherent, the satisfaction of crafting a well-executed 10-page essay is equally profound. For those seeking assistance in navigating this formidable task, there are resources available. • 2. Predator Prey Lab Report Essay PREDATOR PREY RELATIONS LAB Background Research: Predators and prey are organisms that interrelate, and they can influence on another s success in reproduction. Predators are organisms that consume other organisms their prey. These two organisms evolve together. They live in an environment where they must develop certain adaptations to survive. When an adaptation is developed, it gives an organism certain physical characteristics that create an advantage for survival and can come to dominate in a population. An adaptation aids survival by either decreasing a prey s chance of being eaten, or by increasing a predator s chance of obtaining food to survive and reproduce. Predators must fight for food. Do not hesitate to intrude, any hungry natural predator would not. Hunting time will be 5 minutes. When the teacher or the wildfire comes around and touches any of the students, they must step out of the playing area for fifteen seconds. When told to stop, each student will tally up his kills . If a predator is in the process of capturing a prey when told to stop, he must drop it. 6. Repeat this process for each generation and make the proper adjustments required for each. 7. At the end of the lab, share your data with the class and add up the number of prey killed. Observations: In certain parts of the field, the grass was very tall and the prey that were in that area were very difficult to find. Because of this many predators ignored the grassy areas which caused a lot of competition for prey in the other areas of the field. Certain prey such as the corn was easily concealed in the grass because of its small size. However, in the dirt area, the color of the corn really made it stand out. In the dirt area of the field, the pinto beans were concealed because its camouflage characteristics allowed it blended in with the dirt, but it stuck out in the grass. The black beans were small black so it was concealed it both the grass and the dirt. The lima
  • 3. The Old Capital By Yasunari Kawabata In Yasunari Kawabata s book the old capital, there is a profounding amount of beauty which is described. One could even argue that the story of Chieko is of secondary importance to describing the beauty of Kyoto. In every part of the book there always seems to be a reference to nature and the seasons . In most instances, nature as well as the traditional Japanese festivals in the noveloften symbolize the parallel of a new modernizing japan and the old traditional Japan. However, more importantly, the seasonal imagery parallels the story of Chieko herself and the moods she is feeling. It is no coincidence that kawabata s first chapter is called the flowers of spring while the last chapter is called winter flowers. As the title of the first chapter suggests, the beginning of the novel is filled with spring imagery. Spring in Japanese culture is an interesting time because it symbolizes new life. It s also the time of year that the cherryblossoms begin to bloom. This sense of new life is also somewhat portrayed in Chieko at this point in the book. Chieko has only just recently turned 20 and she is brimming with life, even if she does seem to have a few worries on her mind. Chieko s parents even say to Chieko that she was taken from her parents from a cherry blossomtree in Gion. Besides the cherry blossoms, there is one other flower that Chieko seems to take an interest in during the spring. Chieko describes the 2 violets which are attached to the maple tree in her garden

As science is progressing, those diagnosed with these diseases are approaching an option that could help relieve the symptoms and eventually cure their illness. One of the first clinical trial patients for this new medical discovery was Mr. Robert Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun was a 33 year old male who suffered from cystic fibrosis. Under direction of Dr. Konstan at University of Cleveland, a research team successfully administered the corrected geneto patient Robert Calhoun through a nasal drip. After a biopsy of the nasal tissue it was determined the protein administered to Mr. Calhoun had replaced the faulty gene. This allowed Robert to cure his cystic fibrosis and lead a more normal, healthy life ( Novel Gene Therapy1). While gene therapy offers many great benefits to the medical world, there are still some risks involved in receiving the treatment. Within everybody there are thousands of genes that determine who people are, what they look like, and how their body functions. When one is conceived, every one of the genes that make up who they will be are laid out within their DNA in a certain sequence. When these genes create an error, it can create genetic diseases such as sickle cell, cystic fibrosis, and sometimes cancer. Before, those diagnosed with these genetic diseases seemed to have no cure in sight. Now, with gene therapy they have hope. Gene therapy is the process of
  • 5. Essay On Driving Under The Influence Driving under the influence (DUI) is a serious criminal offense in Georgia. While most offenses are considered a misdemeanor, drivers can still face serious consequences. This is why it is always a good idea to contact a DUI lawyer immediately after being arrested. What Is Considered a DUI? In Georgia, drivers may be charged with a DUI if police suspect that someone is driving under the influence. In most cases, you must have a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more. However, it can be as low as 0.04 percent for those driving a commercial vehicle. For those under 21 years of age, driving with an alcohol blood content of just 0.02 percent can result in a DUI. In most cases, drivers are allowed to drive to their place of employment. They may also be able to drive to dependency classes, community service, and doctor appointments. However, all driving activity must be planned in advance. Ignition Interlock Device For those with multiple offenses on their record, the state of Georgia may require the driver to install an ignition interlock device. This device might sound intimating, but it s actually a simple tool. Before the vehicle will start, the driver must take a breathalyzer. If the device detects any alcohol, the vehicle will start up. While it s simple enough, it can be overly sensitive. For example, mouthwash or cooking brandy could trigger the device. While both of these options will allow drivers to keep driving, they will minimize the chances of receiving another DUI charge. Getting Help If you have been charged with a DUI in Georgia, you should hire a lawyer to fight by your side. DUI cases are very serious offenses, especially in Georgia. Much like Brutus, Cassius allows his ambitions to consume himself, which is the major cause of his

An opportunist is defined by Oxford dictionaries as: A person who takes advantage of opportunities as and when they arise, regardless of planning or principle . For many, this sums up the rule of Cleisthenesas he took advantage of the anti tyrannical movement and of the power he was given to improve the position of himself and his Alcmaeonid family. However, this essay will argue that although Cleisthenes did take advantage of opportunities, he was ultimately very principled in nature and was actually a reactionist. This is to say that he reacted to problems and events that occurred and dealt with them the best he could, rather than taking advantage of the opportunity to better himself, the elite classes or his family. To many, Cleisthenes was simply an opportunist. One way he can be said to be opportunistic is during his rise to power. This idea has stemmed from the ancient Greek author Herodotus, and in parts Aristotle as well. On the whole, these are two ancient authors with semi opposing views, with Herodotus being a stronger source for stating Cleisthenes was an opportunist. The main reason most historians believe that Cleisthenes was an opportunist is because of the account from Herodotus histories. The account is as follows: these two [Isagoras and Cleisthenes] were rivals for power, and Cleisthenes, who was getting the worst of it, took the people into his

  • 21. Compare And Contrast The American Empire And Ottoman Empire Throughout history there has been times when empire building and expansion were very popular. During the Early Modern Era, from 1450 1750, this occurred a lot. The European, Russian, Chinese, Mughal and, Ottoman empires were all being built around the same time. An empire is a group of states or countries under one supreme ruler. When the empireis divided by an ocean or has part of it distant from the other, the part away from the mainland is known as a colony and the homeland is the Mother Country. The empires with the colonies in America had the advantage. The European Empires were also different from the Russian, Chinese, Mughal, and Ottoman Empires in that Europe hurt the unintentionally natives of the land they took over while the other empires did not. Since Europe was building empires in another continent, many things would be different. A major difference was the immune systems of the people. The europeans had immunities to certain diseases such as bubonic plague, pneumonic plague,, influenza, measles, scarlet fever, smallpox, and tuberculosis, because they had been exposed to them before. Since the Native Americans were never exposed to them, they never built immunities. When the Europeans came to the Americans they carried the diseases without knowing. Making majority of the population sick. Tribe after tribe they died because they could not fight these diseases. This clearly made more room for the Europeans but in a tragic way. Similarly, the European Empires were different from the Russian, Chinese, Mughal, and Ottoman Empires in their reasonings for expansion. Europe expanded across the Atlantic Ocean because they were geographically at an advantage. They had access to this new land the for the other places to get to it would either take too long or they would physically have to go through the European s land to get there. During this rushed creation, Gershwin found inspiration to create his most famous individual piece, Rhapsody in Blue. At its first performance, the piece was loved by the audience so much that they gave it a standing ovation. Soon after this, Gershwin began producing plays with his brother Ira. George would compose the music, and Ira would create the lyrics. • 29. Rhetorical Analysis Of Henry s Speech Paragraph One In the beginning of the speech, Henry uses a cautious but also assertive tone. In delivering this speech, Henry intended to highlight the problems caused by Britain, and convince the American people to fight back against British rule. Phrases such as the majesty of heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings and nothing less then a question of freedom or slavery showcase usage of antithesis in the speech. Henry is appealing to the patriotism and emotions of his audience by mentioning things such as a question of freedom or slavery , the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country , and the very worth gentlemen who have just addressed the House . By comparing the majesty of heaven to earthly kings , Henry is appealing to ethos, or the audience s concept of ethics. The phrase freely, and without reserve is an example of parallelism. References to God are an example of allusion, as most of Henry s audience practiced Christianity. Paragraph Two The purpose of this section of the talk is to show people s desire to ignore the truth about the state of their country, and to warn against doing so. Henry is trying to show how one s default or natural response to the hardships they were facing at the hands of British rule might be to turn their head the other way. Henry s reference to Ezekiel 12:2 ( having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not ) was a way to draw attention to injustices that he saw among the American people. Because most

Consideration is being given to someone who expects a salary far outside FIDA s ethical compass used to establish salaries. Applying either a care ethics or the Rawls s difference principle of ethical reasoning to the circumstance supports not hiring the person. However, applying the Rawls s difference principle provides the stronger argument in support of this decision, as it allows the decision maker to impartially determine if the decision is just and fair for the broadest group of key stakeholders affected. As a global justice organization, FIDA employs a hiring policy that provides for a limit on the salary of employees to be hired. Thus, the highest paid salary will not exceed three times that which is paid to the lowest paid member of the organization. However, FIDA needs a new chief executive officerand is considering a candidate, Joan, who wants three times the outgoing officer s salary. Joan has indicated that she is worthy of the higher salary as she can significantly increase funds raised. Applying the Rawls s difference principle would support hiring Joan at the higher salary only if it resulted in a greater share of resources available to all stakeholders and benefited the least well off of that group. Therefore, the key stakeholders must be identified and it must be determined whether they would be better off under the circumstances. The stakeholders

However the satire is predominately light hearted, indicating Pope s optimistic and light hearted feelings towards the use of cosmetics in eighteenth century society. The satire Pope uses on cosmetics does not put a negative tone on the use of cosmetics, but rather puts into question Belinda s, and therefore other women s priorities. In Pope s poem, a bible as such belongs with puffs and patches. Keener s point in writing this is that Pope, by throwing in something as important as the bible with things as futile as puffs and powders and patches, is satirizing Belinda s priorities; for Belinda, religion is just as important as her appearance. Pope does not represent cosmetics as having a negative nature through his satire, but rather shows the futility of women caring as much about their appearance as they do about God. This is the only real satire Pope uses in relation to the use of cosmetics. It may be argued that Pope is using this to show the negative function of cosmetics in eighteenth century society in that it distracts women from God. However, vanity is something that can exist with or without the presence of cosmetics. Even in Eden, Eve was distracted by her own beauty, giving in to vanity. Therefore it would be fair to argue that this being the only presence of satire of cosmetics in The Rape of the Lock, Pope maintains his representation of the nature and
