Verb to BE
How do I use Verb to BE?
Verb to be is used to express, or give an idea of
condition. If someone IS happy, sad, glad, good
bad, nice, fine, ok; or if someone IS beautiful,
strong, weak, tall, fat, thin, rich, and poor. The
last ones are called adjectives. Adjectives are
generally used do attribute a characteristic to
someone or something. The first ones are
words, adjectives too, but in this case, are used
to express an idea of the way someone IS
felling itself.

2. 2. Correct the mistakes in the text bellow.
Mark and Jonh is good friend. Mark’s family
are very big, and John’s family is very funny.
Mark are a journalist while John are an
unemployed. Mark always says to John that he
needs to find a job, but John always answer: “I
is employed. I are a waiter now.” However,
Mark are never satisfied with Jonh’s answer.
John are the Mark’s best friend, and
sometimes he am a little bit upset to not
correspond Mark’s opinion. Although to them
does not matter, ‘cuz they have each other.
Extra Exercise
Write a short composition using verb to
be. Ex: Describe you house.
“My house is short. My house is green.
My bedroom is large…”.
