This study analyzed the posture of 137 middle school students through 5 assessment exercises. It found high numbers of dorsal kyphosis in 69 students, bent knees in 61 students, and flat feet in 62 students, with most issues involving the lower back and limbs. By identifying these postural defects, the physical education teacher can provide families guidance and encourage students to be mindful of their posture.

The exercises in which it was preferred
to postpone a medical check-up were
the numbers 1, 4 and 5, respectively

Conclusion
Thanks to the evaluation it was
possible to find the presence of
postural defects in the students. In
particular, it can be seen that these
attitudes mostly involve the lower
limbs and the dorsal tract. The
teacher of physical education in this
way can give useful indications to
the families and sensitize the
students to pay attention to the
postural aspects.

This study surveyed 150 students ages 10 to 18 to determine the relationship between backpack usage and back pain. 76.35% of students reported back pain validated by pain in the neck, shoulders, back, doctor visits, and reduced activity. Backpack usage, including type, weight, and time carried, was independently associated with back pain, with weight being the most dominant factor. Heavier backpacks over 10% of body weight increased risk of back pain. Females reported more intense back pain than males.

Questionnaires assessed body image distortion, perfectionism, and eating disorder inventory. Results found statistically significant differences between the groups in body image distortion and perception of body weight, with the risk group having higher scores on measures of body image distortion, eating disorder symptoms, and perfectionism. The study concludes that occupations like ballet and modeling present risk factors for developing eating disorders, and preventative interventions should target these at-risk groups.

A Study Of Age At Menarche And Body Composition In School Girls Of Metro cities

Two thousand and seventeen subjects of various schools from two important metro cities in Maharashtra namely Mumbai and Pune in the age group of 10-14 year were studied to examine association between age at menarche and body composition. Data was collected through General Questionnaire & their body composition was assessed using analyzer (Tanita model no. BC 420 PM A). Out of the total sample, 370 students with mean age 12.35 year ±1.009 had attained menarche (AM) in the recent period of their recruitment whereas 1,646 girls had not attained menarche meaning they were perimenarcheal (PM) at the recruitment with mean age 11.42 year ±1.065. A concerning fact established by our study was that 10% of girls from our population had attained menarche when they were just 11 yrs and 52.18% girls had attained menarche before they were 12 years of age. Results showed that All the body composition parameter except total body water percentage (TBW %) were higher in AM group compared to PM group. It was observed that fat percentage and fat mass was negatively correlated with age at menarche which was statistically significant at 0.01 levels. Fat free mass, muscle mass, TBW (kg) were weakly negatively correlated whereas TBW (%) was positively correlated with age at menarche which was statistically significant at 0.01 levels.

Alcaraz, PhD, Bohdan Kolody, PhD, Nell Faucette, PhD, and Melbourne E Hovell, PhD, MPH Introduction Regular physical activity during childhood and adolescence is associated with improvements in numerous physi- ological and psychological variables.",2 School physical education is the primary societal institution with the responsibility for promoting physical activity in youth, and 97% of elementary school students take physical education.3 However, there is evidence that physical education is not adequately filling this role.4 Observations revealed that physical education specialists provided students with only 3 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per physical education class; that is less than 10% of class time.5'6 This is far below the national objective that children should be active at least 50% of physical education class time.7 Well-designed physical education programs have pro- duced significant health benefits,8-'3 so further development and evaluation of health-related physical education programs are needed. For public health benefit, physical education should promote generalization of physical activity outside of school, because physical activity recommenda- tions cannot be met through physical education alone.4 Physical education8"3 and classroom programs'0"4 may increase physical activity throughout the day, but specific programs to promote generalization must be developed and rigorously evaluated. This paper reports the primary out- comes of 2 years of a health-related elementary physical education program on children's physical activity during physical education and physical activity out of school. This study examined the relationship between attitudes towards biology and student achievement in biology courses among 185 high school students in Iran. The results showed that overall attitude towards biology was not significantly correlated with biology achievement. However, the dimension of "biology is fun for me" was positively and significantly correlated with achievement. There were no significant gender differences in attitude towards biology, but girls had significantly higher achievement in biology than boys. The study suggests making biology curriculum more fun for students in order to foster more positive attitudes towards the subject.

When recess is cut, these activities either suffer or the teacher must find time in their already hectic schedule to work these activities into the curriculum (Franxman & Gilbert, 2018). Many playground activities lead to social and emotional development. Students are put into situations that are not guided by a teacher and are tested to make their own decisions. Peer relationships are developed through physical activity (Murray & Ramstetter, 2018). This “free” time helps develop a student’s ability to communicate, negotiate, and problem solve, all of which are needed to contribute to society (Murray & Ramstetter, 2018). School days are long. Students are expected to sit for long periods of time focusing on specific content. When students are given breaks to move, different motions fire up neurons in their brains. Students are more attentive to their lessons after a chance to engage in physical activity (Murray & 2 Ramstetter, 2018). The physical activity helps keep the brain active by giving one area a chance to rest and recharge, while another area of the brain develops other skills. Physical activity is important to the development of the whole child. Schools have drifted away from making physical activity or play a priority in favor of structured academic time. In this book, we use conservation of energy techniques on a fluid element to derive the Modified Bernoulli equation of flow with viscous or friction effects. We derive the general equation of flow/ velocity and then from this we derive the Pouiselle flow equation, the transition flow equation and the turbulent flow equation. In the situations where there are no viscous effects , the equation reduces to the Bernoulli equation. From experimental results, we are able to include other terms in the Bernoulli equation. We also look at cases where pressure gradients exist. We use the Modified Bernoulli equation to derive equations of flow rate for pipes of different cross sectional areas connected together. We also extend our techniques of energy conservation to a sphere falling in a viscous medium under the effect of gravity. We demonstrate Stokes equation of terminal velocity and turbulent flow equation. We look at a way of calculating the time taken for a body to fall in a viscous medium. We also look at the general equation of terminal velocity.

Although Artemia has been known to man for centuries, its use as a food for the culture of larval organisms apparently began only in the 1930s, when several investigators found that it made an excellent food for newly hatched fish larvae (Litvinenko et al., 2023). As aquaculture developed in the 1960s and ‘70s, the use of Artemia also became more widespread, due both to its convenience and to its nutritional value for larval organisms (Arenas-Pardo et al., 2024). The fact that Artemia dormant cysts can be stored for long periods in cans, and then used as an off-the-shelf food requiring only 24 h of incubation makes them the most convenient, least labor-intensive, live food available for aquaculture (Sorgeloos & Roubach, 2021). The nutritional value of Artemia, especially for marine organisms, is not constant, but varies both geographically and temporally. During the last decade, however, both the causes of Artemia nutritional variability and methods to improve poorquality Artemia have been identified (Loufi et al., 2024). Brine shrimp (Artemia spp.) are used in marine aquaculture worldwide. Annually, more than 2,000 metric tons of dry cysts are used for cultivation of fish, crustacean, and shellfish larva. Brine shrimp are important to aquaculture because newly hatched brine shrimp nauplii (larvae) provide a food source for many fish fry (Mozanzadeh et al., 2021). Culture and harvesting of brine shrimp eggs represents another aspect of the aquaculture industry. Nauplii and metanauplii of Artemia, commonly known as brine shrimp, play a crucial role in aquaculture due to their nutritional value and suitability as live feed for many aquatic species, particularly in larval stages (Sorgeloos & Roubach, 2021).

Carbonyls undergo addition reactions with a large range of nucleophiles. In this paper we present the Extended Westerlund 1 and 2 Open Clusters Survey (EWOCS) project, which aims to investigate the influence of the starburst environment on the formation of stars and planets, and on the evolution of both low and high mass stars. The primary targets of this project are Westerlund 1 and 2, the closest supermassive star clusters to the Sun. Methods. The project is based primarily on recent observations conducted with the Chandra and JWST observatories. Specifically, the Chandra survey of Westerlund 1 consists of 36 new ACIS-I observations, nearly co-pointed, for a total exposure time of 1 Msec. Additionally, we included 8 archival Chandra/ACIS-S observations. This paper presents the resulting catalog of X-ray sources within and around Westerlund 1. Sources were detected by combining various existing methods, and photon extraction and source validation were carried out using the ACIS-Extract software. Results. The EWOCS X-ray catalog comprises 5963 validated sources out of the 9420 initially provided to ACIS-Extract, reaching a photon flux threshold of approximately 2 × 10−8 photons cm−2 s −1 . The X-ray sources exhibit a highly concentrated spatial distribution, with 1075 sources located within the central 1 arcmin. We have successfully detected X-ray emissions from 126 out of the 166 known massive stars of the cluster, and we have collected over 71 000 photons from the magnetar CXO J164710.20-455217.

1. Although the level of students with postural imbalances has increased in recent decades, it is possible to achieve an improvement in this situation through the application of postural assessment exercise protocols. With this study we want to demonstrate how school can influence the growth of each person, not only from an educational, psychological and social point of view, but also from a motor and postural aspects. Purpose Methods Analysis of posture in a sample of middle school students G. Olla1, S. Scolaro1, P. Moisè1 1 School of Exercise & Sport Sciences, University of Turin, Torino, Italy Results The exercises in which it was preferred to postpone a medical check-up were the numbers 1, 4 and 5, respectively those concerning dorsal kyphosis, the attitude of the knee and the attitude of the plantar arch. Number of alterations found with respect to the total number of students analyzed: Dorsal kyphosis: 69/137 (1st grade 21/37, 2nd grade 21/51, 3rd grade 27/49); Knees: 61/137 (1st grade 21/37, 2nd grade 25/51, 3rd grade 15/49); Plantar arch: 62/137 (1st grade 14/37, 2nd grade 24/51, 3rd grade 24/49). Conclusion Thanks to the evaluation it was possible to find the presence of postural defects in the students. In particular, it can be seen that these attitudes mostly involve the lower limbs and the dorsal tract. Each student was given a specific test battery consisting of 5 assessment exercises following an order of cranio-caudal progression.
