The dot is the simplest element of drawing that can be used to indicate position. Dots can vary in size, color, thickness and distance from each other. When dots are connected, they can create compositions and be used to add color, shape, volume and depth to objects. The spacing and overlapping of dots can achieve a sense of depth and volume. Images and pictures in various media like newspapers, TV and computers are created using dots.

2. The dot is the simplest element of drawing.
It’s the smallest unit we can draw. Its first
target is to indicate a position.
These dots can be big or small, in color or in
black and white, thick, or thin;
They can be drawn next or very far to
others. They can also be drawn so big that
they are considered circles.

3. • There are two types of dots: geometric dot
and graphic dot.
• Geometric dot: is the point where two
straight lines cross each other and is used
in Technical Drawing, and we call it point.
• Graphic dot: is the simplest element used
in drawing shapes.

6. A colour is uniform if dots are at an equal
distance from each other.
If the dots are closer together, the colour is
more intense than if they are further apart.
Dots that are close together
(concentration) make darker areas; dots
that are further apart (dispersion)make
lighter ones.
