1. Relative to DepEd Memorandum no. 173, s. 2019 re: Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa, the City
Schools Division of Dasmarinas, amidst pandemic happening around the world, is still
committed to extend quality learning at home. It continuously aims to elevate reading
comprehension of the learners by amplifying its campaign of establishing reading home through
project “Every Parent a Reading Teacher Program”.
2. The project aims to:
a. educate the parents on how to be a reading teacher at home; and
b. provide reading materials that can be used by struggling, frustration, instructional, and
independent readers
3. Series of videos shall be posted on DepEd Tayo Dasmarinas to teach the parents on how to
teach reading at home.

Home
b. Episode 2: Pre-Reading Skills
c. Episode 3: The Big Six of Reading
4. To provide them materials suitable to the needs of the learners, materials were compiled through
the help of English Head/Key teachers, reading coordinators, and select supervisors. They can

5. Moreover, those who want to share materials can email Mr. Noel D. Anciado through
noel.anciado@deped.gov.ph.
6. School heads and teachers are requested to encourage parents to be part of this project through
their General PTA Officers, alumni association, and barangay officials. Other possible means
may be used to disseminate the information.
7. This project shall be continued even after this situation. This Office suggests various activities
to make sure that awareness campaign will be intensified:
a. Panayam sa Barangay - A reading task force of each school will visit nearby barangays
and conduct symposia and fora.
b. Brigada Basa – inclusion of reading at home information drive in the weeklong Brigada
Eskwela activities.
c. Others - school-initiated projects which aim to involve parents in reading
8. For the learners we profess to serve, immediate and wide dissemination of this Memorandum
is highly enjoined.
