Hi @ALL, This article offers a solution to Deltek Acumen Fuse import issue whereby the schedule from Primavera is imported into the tool but results in incorrect translation of P6 original and remaining durations. When imported durations come in incorrectly, all the metrics using duration as a variable will come out wrong. This will put into serious question the accuracy of all previous schedule quality reviews, seriously affecting the analyst reputation of providing valid findings. Cheers, Rufran

4. 1. SITUATION/PROBLEM
1.1. The durations of imported Primavera schedule into Acumen Fuse are not correct.
1.2. Durations are not translating properly into Acumen Fuse.
1.3. The original and remaining durations from the Primavera schedule multiplied
three times. It comes over three times long.
1.4. The priority level is critical because a gated review is upon the project team.
Acumen Fuse will be utilized reviewing schedule quality.
1.5. Many projects are on schedule for review in the next few days.
1.6. This also puts into serious question the accuracy of all previous reviews.
1.7. Wrong durations, means wrong inputs to the metric formulas, which means
wrong results.
1.8. A prompt resolution is called for.
2. RELATED TOOLS
2.1. Deltek Acumen Fuse V5.1.1.0 x 64 and lower

3. DEFINITION
3.1. The term “User” in this document is the person using the Acumen Fuse tool. He
can be the planner, the scheduler, the Project Manager or anyone.
4. PROBLEM ANALYSIS (PA)
4.1. Create a Primavera test schedule called “TF-TEST” intended to replicate the
problem. Use only one 24/7 calendar for all activities. This calendar has a setting
of 24 hours per day (hours per time-period).

5. 4.2. This simple schedule network has 21 activities (see Figure 1).

4.3. Export the schedule as “XER” file, saved to a common directory and folder.
4.4. Import the XER file to Acumen Fuse.

6. 4.5. Upon inspection, it is clear that all Acumen Fuse schedule durations are three
times more than the original Primavera schedule; e.g. Activity A Clear Site has
300 days instead of 100 days, Activity F with 150 days instead of 50 days, and so
on. You can see the difference by comparing Figure 1 and 2.

4.6. Inspect the calendar. The assigned calendar in Acumen Fuse and in Primavera is
the same. Assignment has translated correctly. So what is the problem? Since it is
not a wrong setting in Primavera, it must be a default setting in Acumen Fuse.

7. 4.7. We have to underscore that the problem affects the accuracy of several standard
metrics that uses duration as one of the variables.
4.8. Note that there was no reported error message.
5. EXPLANATION
5.1. There is no need to change anything in Primavera to correct the schedule before
exporting.
5.2. The reason for the discrepancy points to Acumen Fuse default setting under the
Activity View pull down not properly set, making the Primavera activities with
24/7 calendars to have their durations translated to three times as long (see
Section 6.0 or specifically Section 6.5 for more explanation).
5.3. A quick correction is available (see Section 6.3, 6.4 & 6.5)

8. 6. SOLUTION
6.1. Open Acumen Fuse
6.2. Go to the S1//Projects tab (1) and click “Activity View” (2)

9. 6.3. Make sure that Hours per Time Period is checked (3). It is a check box but it
does not look like there is a box to check.
6.4. After putting a “checkmark”, the Hours per Time Period, it should look like this.
6.5. When this button is checked(selected), the assigned calendar per activity will
govern, not Acumen Fuse’s default setting which uses hours per day set to 8
hours. The reason why all Primavera durations with 24/7 calendars translating to
three times as long point to the "check button" not selected. As such, the default
of 8 hours per day took control of the conversion.
