The Impact of Corporate Governance on Firm Performance in...
Introduction Corporate governance is a field in economics that investigates how to secure/motivate
efficient management of corporations by the use of incentive mechanisms, such as contracts,
organizational designs and legislation. This is often limited to the question of improving financial
performance, for example, how the corporate owners can secure/motivate that the corporate managers
will deliver a competitive rate of return. (Mathiesen, 2002). Another definition is Corporate
Governance is concerned with holding the balance between economic and social goals and between
individual and communal goals. The corporate governance framework is there to encourage the

Chhaochharia and Grinstein (2007) looked at the impact of the 2002 governance rules established by
the Sarbanes Oxley Act on firm value. They found that less compliant firms earn positive abnormal
returns compared to more compliant firms. They also found that less compliant large firms earn
positive abnormal returns but less compliant small firms earn negative abnormal returns. Bhagat and
Bolton (2008) examined the relationship between corporate governance and performance, and found
that better corporate governance, board members stock ownership, and CEO Chair separation are
positively related to operating performance. They also found that the probability of management
turnover is positively related to board members stock ownership and board independence when firms
perform poorly. Patibandla (2006) examined the ownership structure and firm performance on Indian
firms by separating large investors into private foreignin stitutional investors and government owned
local financial institutions. Patibandla found a positive relationship between private foreign
institutional investors and firm profitability and a negative relationship between government owned
local financial institutions and firm profitability. Aims Objectives of Research The aim of this

A Landmark Surgery
At approximately 10:30 AM on the 19th of October 1927 Carrie Buck was escorted back to her room
to begin the short recovery period she was required to take after having had an inch of flesh removed
from each of her Fallopian tubes with the loose ends then being professionally and caringly cauterized
and sutured closed. This woman had just undergone a landmark surgery, not because of the highly
technical aspects of the surgery, or anything of the sort, but rather because the entire procedure had
been performed against her will. Following Carrie out of the operating room was Dr. John H Bell, the
superintendent of the Virginia Colony for Epilectics and Feebleminded, for whom this case marked a
victory in the three year legal battle which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is in other countries where we are most familiar with the process, most specifically Nazi Germany.
The efforts of the Third Reich to create a genetically superior race of Aryans was another example of
the application of eugenics (Leuchtenburg 12). The most basic tenant of this practice is the premise
that weak parents will lead to weak offspring, who will in turn produce more of the same genetically
deficient specimens and in time degrade the integrity of the entire human race. Upon entering the legal
battle that would decide who had the right to preside over her reproductive decision, Carrie Buck
knew that the outcome of the case would not only have an effect on her future but that of thousands of
others who were having their rights brought into question as well. Beyond merely giving the go ahead
for her own sterilization, the loss of the case would bring about a new set of legal justifications for the
systematic, controlled extinction of those who were not considered of the ideal genetic makeup. This
wasnt just a fight for an individuals freedom, it was a fight for equality as promised by legislature that
even then threatened to strip away what it had promised in its governing documents. The official name
of the case is Carrie Buck v John Hendren Bell Superintendent of State Colony for Epilectics and
Feeble Minded. It was introduced into the Supreme Court in April of 1927 and decided the 2nd of the

The Bachelor Of Science ( Bsn ) Program Essay
The Bachelor of Science (BSN) program offered at California University of Pennsylvania has
exceeded all of my expectations. The program is rigorous and while taught completely in the online
capacity still offers all of the support and accountability that a seated classroom does. The professors
are exceptional and always available for any needed help. My time in the BSN program at California
University has ended up being that of self reflection and discovery, commitment to higher learning,
and personal as well as professional achievement. Career Goals My three to five year goals include
attending Robert Morris University (RMU) for my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, working
with the Nurses without Borders program, being published in a mainstream nursing journal and
becoming a Certified Nephrology Nurse. I have specific plans in place to achieve these goals as well
as a strong support system to ensure success so I can maintain my responsibilities as a wife, mother
and an employee as well. I have currently been accepted into the DNP program at Robert Morris
University and will start August 27, 2015 and hope to complete the program in three and a half years. I
can extend this to four years if need be. I do have financial aid in place already. Robert Morris
University also offers opportunities for me to achieve my goal of going to third world countries and

Compare And Contrast David And Bathesheba
Several things have not changed over ancient times very girl craves to be pursued, every man
struggles with lust, and the Lord can use ordinary humans to do extraordinary things. These are world
wide things and have been around since the beginning of time. We as girls desire to be irreplaceable
and want to be wanted. Even Christian culture has played into this. Boaz pursued Ruth in a way that
greatly displayed the love of Christ. They were a lot like spaghetti and meatballs great by themselves
but a powerhouse when combined. The old testament also documents the hardships in relationships in
our fallen world. There are also sweet records of the works He has done in peoples lives. And the
result of immovable faith. We can learn from people s triumphs and failures in the Bible. David and

She truly trusted in the Lord s timing. She lived humbly and walked in Christ like love unintentionally
setting an incredible example that wont ever go out of date. Hannah s husband was a bigamist and her
sister wife Peninnah would try to intentionally hurt her feelings. She longed for a son, not to fulfill
selfish desires but so she could raise him to love and serve the Lord. She has a pure heart and wanted
nothing more than to raise one of her own to be a servant of the Lord. Even in today s sin infested
world when someone has an extraordinary mother who loves the Lord and consistently instills grace in
her children it can really show in their every day eyes. Hannah and her husband Elkanah had a deep
love for one another despite having a third party in their strange love triangle. It was obvious that
Hannah did not just seek to be a Godly mother but she sought to be a wife who showed the love of
Christ. And instead of distancing herself from the Lord when it seemed as if she might never become a
mother she poured out her heart

Cultural Impact Of The Harlem Renaissance
The Harlem Renaissance showed a bizarre cultural change that helped the image of Africans around
the world. The Renaissance s purpose was to project the rebirth of the African American arts. Though,
it originally wasn t known as the Harlem Renaissance, but instead called the Negro Renaissance by
Alain Locke. It all started with a insane migration of African Americans traveling north to pursue a
new future for themselves and their families. With Harlem being the focus of where most of the
African American migrate to, it also became where the America s culture shifted. The Harlem
Renaissance removed the old views of how blacks are supposed to be treated as slaves and gave them
a way to show that they aren t that different compared to other races.
Jazz was the creation of the combination of African rhythm and the European harmony. It was popular
enough to bring the attention of the whites towards the African American community. Soon enough,
people of all backgrounds were willing to cross into the Harlem community to enjoy the exotic music
jazz provides. With it s insane popularity, the term New Negro was created where the black cultural
community was able to establish a connection with New York s artistic mainstream. Hence it assisted
in breaking down the stereotype barrier that once separated the white and black community since the
founding of the United States. Joel Augustus Rogers, a journalist, believed that along with poetry,
music was one of the fine arts that penetrated the soul and bring out all the richness and sincerity of
the man (Asukile 24). However, the information of jazz did not become popular until Rogers wrote
Jazz at Home. For that reason Rogers stated, Locke included it in The New Negro (1925), which
became the cultural landmark anthology of the Harlem Renaissance (Asukile 23).
The popularity of jazz raised in the white community when Paul Whiteman introduced jazz orchestra
to them. Paul Whiteman s ability to take the best improvisations of jazz and coordinate it to jazz
orchestra gave him the title King of Jazz by white critics. Yet, Whiteman had declined the title for
King of Jazz . Whiteman believed that jazz was a African American invention and he did not have the

US National Public Debt Essay
The national debt is the result of a state s borrowing from its population, from foreign governments, or
from international institutions such as the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Public debts tend to be large scale credit operations and are contracted on a national scale by central
governments and on a lesser scale by provincial, regional, district, and municipal administrative
bodies. In the U.S., public debts are also contracted by the states and by local governments, primarily
for public works.
Kinds of Debt
National public debts are contracted chiefly through the flotation of interest paying loans, in the form
of bonds, bills, or notes. Historically, these loans have been undertaken to raise money for wars ...

Although government loans are for the most part not secured by physical assets, they are regarded in
law as contracts carrying an obligation on the part of the debtor to repay. Nevertheless, governments,
when hard pressed during economic crises or as a result of political upheavals, have sometimes
repudiated their public debts in whole or in part. In many cases, also, a government to whom another
is in debt may agree to forgive the debt or reschedule its payment over a longer period.
History
In earlier times debts contracted by heads of state had the legal status of personal debt; public debt
emerged as a systematic element in a country s economy when regular sources of income became
available to provide funds to repay loans, a monetary system became fully formed, and an organized
money market came into operation. The first examples of public debt surfaced in the late 17th century
in Europe and became more prevalent with the rise of the modern state and the banking and credit
system that grew out of the Industrial Revolution.
Today, the finances involved in contracting and redeeming the public debt of a country are a sizable
proportion of its government budget. As the money for redemption of the public debt is raised
principally through taxation, the size of the national debt is a factor in determining taxation rates.

Swot Analysis of Project Management
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
WHAT IS PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
The word project comes from the Latin word projectum from the Latin verb proicere, to throw
something forwards which in turn comes from pro , which denotes something that precedes the action
of the next part of the word in time (paralleling the Greek πρό) and iacere, to throw . The word project
thus actually originally meant something that comes before anything else happens .
When the English language initially adopted the word, it referred to a plan of something, not to the act
of actually carrying this plan out. Something performed in accordance with a project became known
as an object .

The premise of PMI is that the tools and techniques of project management are common even among
the widespread application of projects from the software industry to the construction industry. In 1981,
the PMI Board of Directors authorized the development of what has become A Guide to the Project
Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide), containing the standards and guidelines of
practice that are widely used throughout the profession.
The International Project Management Association (IPMA), founded in Europe in 1967, has
undergone a similar development and instituted the IPMA Competence Baseline (ICB). The focus of
the ICB also begins with knowledge as a foundation, and adds considerations about relevant
experience, interpersonal skills, and competence. Both organizations are now participating in the
development of an ISO project management standard.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT APPROACHES:
There are several approaches that can be taken to managing project activities including agile,
interactive, incremental, and phased approaches.
Regardless of the approach employed, careful consideration needs to be given to clarify surrounding
project objectives, goals, and importantly, the roles and responsibilities of all participants and
stakeholders.
A traditional phased approach identifies a sequence of steps to be completed. In the traditional
approach , we can distinguish 5 components of a project (4 stages plus

Benetton Family
Company History: Benetton Group S.p.A.
Company Perspectives:
Today the Benetton Group is present in 120 countries around the world. Its core business is clothing: a
group with a strong Italian character whose style, design expertise and passion are clearly seen in the
United Colors of Benetton and the more fashion oriented Sisley brands, and in sportswear brands
Playlife and Killer Loop. The Group produces over 110 million garments every year, over 90% in
Europe.
Key Dates:
1955: Giuliana and Luciano Benetton buy their first knitting machine and begin selling Giuliana s
woolen sweaters.
1965: The Benetton family forms a partnership, Maglificio di Ponzano Veneto dei Fratelli Benetton.

Production at the company was also unique. In 1972 Luciano introduced a time and money saving
production technique. By dyeing assembled garments made of unbleached wool rather than batches of
yarn before knitting, manufacturing time was trimmed and Benetton could produce garments upon
demand, which minimized the need to maintain an extensive inventory.
To produce many sweaters at reduced cost and financial risk, Benetton took advantage of an old
Italian cottage industry. Benetton farmed out labor intensive production knitting and sewing to small,
family owned companies (many owned in whole, or part, by Benetton management) throughout
northeast Italy. Employing advanced technology, these companies allowed Benetton to manufacture in
response to increased market demand both domestically and abroad with reduced financial risk. About
80 percent of production was farmed out to 450 subcontractors who employed about 20,000 workers
in the Veneto region. The remaining 20 percent of value added, capital intensive production quality
control and cutting and dyeing was performed in house. By 1983 Benetton payments for contract work
equaled nearly six times the labor expense for work performed in its factories, according to the
Harvard School of Business.
Benetton s early success is attributable as much to Luciano s genius, as to the Italian and local
business

The Invention Of The Dye Industry
During WWII there were many advancements in modern weaponry, the production of larger weapons
and faster planes allowed for devastation across the globe. Many of these weapons were very effective
and while the war trudged on as did the new technology that arose from the hellish time. German
forces, at this time, were on the frontlines in trenches as they tried to push back British and French
troops. Although Germany s armies were strong they still struggled to advance on the British and
French troops. Meanwhile in Germany, the dye industry was steadily producing economic growth but,
the German army had other plans. These plans would eventually change the dynamic of war itself.
It was 1915, German forces grew tired and started to look for other ways to advance on British and
French troops. As stated before the dye industry was a great weapon. Except it wasn t the dye that was
used but a chemical used to create the dye, chlorine. The German army filled canisters of chlorine and
bought them to the battlefield. As they opened the canisters yellowish gas flowed from the metal cases
directly toward two French regiments. The French regiments watched as this gas flowed toward them,
before they knew it the gas had reached them. One by one French soldiers started choking on the gas
as their lungs filled with chlorine. As the gas melted the tissues of their lungs French troops fell, all of
them. Two French divisions were destroyed, in no time the gas had done what it was intended to

Anne Bradstreet To My Dear And Loving Husband Analysis
Anne Bradstreet, A passionate puritan poet
Anne Bradstreet was a passionate poet that was very devoted to her family, her puritan religion, and
her husband. She lived during the early 1600 s and was a part of the Puritanism movement; her poetic
style was in her faith. Bradstreet wrote To My Dear and Loving Husband and Upon the Burning of
Our House, July 10th, 1666 , these two poems are significant because they gave her acknowledgement
for her beliefs and granted her themes to be inspirational.

The poem has also been an indicator of the unevenness of gender roles in Puritan culture, in which the
wife is vulnerable and subservient to the husband (Ruby). Another theme in the poem is how the
gender roles in the culture put women below men. Even though they represent shocking excesses of
material fortune in worldly terms, they are worth less to her than the love of her husband (Ruby). This
shows that no materialistic or currency can compare to her husband s love for her. The poem had a

Prejudice In Reginald Rose s Twelve Angry Men
Prejudice is the injury or damage resulting from some judgment or action of another in disregard of
one s rights, according to Merriam Webster. In simpler terms, prejudice is being judged regarding one
s religion, race, personality, physical appearance, etc. Unfortunately, everyone has given or received
some form of prejudice. Prejudice also exists in the government, when cases and trials are solved. This
can be shown through Reginald Rose s novel, Twelve Angry Men. In this novel, twelve jurors are
designated to choose the verdict of a case. A sixteen year old boy is accused of murdering his father. If
the jurors verdict is guilty, then the boy will receive a death sentence. The chosen jurors are locked in
a room to decide the verdict, guilty or innocent. At the beginning, only one juror chose to vote not
guilty, for the sake of reasonable doubt. The juror made thought out points and persuasively changed
all other other jurors minds. By the end, all jurors chose to vote not guilty, except one. This particular
juror voted guilty because he compared the defendant to his own son, whom he had problems with.
This prejudice blocked his mind, making him confuse facts with his own judgment. With this
prejudice, the juror was putting a boy s life at risk. Instead of seeing an innocent boy, he saw his son,
and this was prejudice, blinding him. With no real points to defend why the boy is guilty, the juror was
reminded that the boy on trial was not his son. It s not your

Chronicle of a Death Foretold Reflective
Chronicle of a Death Foretold: Cultural Analysis
In America, there is a judicial system that helps justice prevail, to punish criminals, and let the
innocent walk. The judicial system allows for there to be a trial where evidence is presented. Through
the evidence presented, the jury then decides if the person on trial is innocent or guilty. Never in any
trial, in any courthouse, under any judge would it be allowed for a murder to be justified so that one
could restore a relative s honor. However, this is not true in the location of Chronicle of a Death
Foretold, as the Vicario twins were found innocent due to legitimate case of honor, which was by the
court upheld in good faith (Marquez 48). The reason that this honor is upheld is ... Show more content

This means that the whole town smelled Santiago Nasar. Most people don t find the dreams important
as it is not reality; also entire communities do not smell the same dead man the day after he dies, but
because the people do shows that the people value magic realism and truly find magic realism to be
real. Magic Realism found scattered all across the book as magic realism is true to the Vicario brother
s culture.
Following the concept of magic realism, is the strong sense of honor in the novel. First and foremost,
the Vicario brothers killed Santiago to the restore their sister s honor. The brothers were then found
innocent for the crime of murder because the two killed Santiago to restore their sister s honor. Honor
is incorporated throughout the entire novel in every character. I knew what they were up to, and I didn

said by Prudencia Cotes, at this time she was the fiancé of Pablo. Although this woman is his fiancé,
and clearly loves him she couldn t marry a man who didn t reclaim the honor of a relative. In the
culture of the Vicario brother s defending their family honor is not an option but a necessity of a man.
This concept of necessity will be explored later on. Also the town accepted this murder of Santiago
Nasar. When the peoples of the town learned of the situation that was happening. They avoided

The Zodiac Signs and Human Behavior Essay
The Zodiac Signs and Human Behavior My belief is that the nature of our behavior is based on
astronomy; hence the reason that people who share the same zodiac sign have very similar
characteristics, and sometimes a combination of people with certain zodiac signs cannot get along or
are very compatible. Sometimes I can tell from a person s sign because of their behavior, and likes and
dislikes. Learning more about astrology and the zodiac signs helps us to understand people and their
actions. Many argue that it is coincidence, but the odds are too high to be that. It was not up until 200

Therefore, water energy tends to defy our meager attempts at coming up with rational explanations
and descriptions. In astrology, the element of water is associated with feeling, sensitivity, and emotion.
All three Signs placed in the element of water (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) are rather difficult to
describe or measure out their true essence. Most Geminians, the sign of the twins which are ruled by
Mercury, have identical characteristics to their sign. On the downside, they have a tendency to
criticize, complain, be ungrateful, and be deceitful. Their good qualities include: being adaptable,
congenial, expressive, and clever. Learning to make a firm decision and sticking to it is one of their
most difficult tasks. Geminians are sometimes said to have split personalities; meaning that the first
impression you get from them is usually followed by one in contrast. Hence the symbol; the twins is
used to describe the two sides of their personality. Signs in a complementary element are considered to

Summary And Symbolism In John Collier s Annunciation
Christian artwork is used to represent and symbolise the Gospel and important figures. Not all
individuals could read and write, therefore images were very important in delivering messages and
teachings. One artwork chosen is Annunciation by John Collier created in 2003. This modern artwork
shows Gabriel asking Mary if she would become the mother of Jesus. The other one is the Holy Night
Nativity Scene by Antonio Correggio created in 1530, which focuses on and sets the scene of Jesus
birth.
The Annunciation displays the moment Gabriel was sent by God to tell Mary she would become
pregnant. This is present in the passage God sent angel Gabriel to a virgin and he said to Mary God
has a surprise for you: You will become pregnant and give birth to a son and call his name Jesus (Luke
1:26 33).
The artwork depicts Mary as a very young and innocent women, which is aided by her modern school
inspired dress.
In the background, there are houses of a 21st century style of living in the suburbs, making the setting
familiar and relatable and allows the audience to feel connected to Mary. Therefore, the emotions and

community by helping people place their belongings, such as jewelry or clothing, on their tables to
sell to the community. I had direct contact with the people and this opportunity allowed me to take
care of people s needs. Additionally, I informed people about the tutoring classes offered to students
and about the monthly food banks. Many individuals were unaware of this organization and they
gained new knowledge about El Centro Hispano. Also, I spoke about my own experience in the
organization and handed out flyers about the programs offered by El Centro Hispano. Many Hispanic
people were interested in the tutoring programs and were informed about the food banks. These poor
and vulnerable people lack necessary resources and require programs for their children to succeed in
school and in the future. Overall, I bring awareness to my community about the non profit
organization to help families gain the opportunity to use El Centro Hispano as a

My Long-Term Goal
My second goal specifically is to get a position in the human resources department with my current
employer within the next six months. Gaining a position in the human resources department puts me
one step closer to achieving my long term goal of becoming a human resource manager. The goal is
measurable because I plan to apply to any position I see posted in the human resources department
that interest me and align with my professional goals. The goal is attainable because I have access to
our job postings website and I plan to check this website for updates at least twice per week. This is a
reasonable goal because I sometimes have downtime at work, which would allow me to use that time
to search for new postings and even apply. This goal is time bound because I gave myself a deadline
of six months to achieve it. With my updated resume, experience and now my current course of study
at Western Governors University, it makes me a desirable candidate for a position in HR.

I plan to develop a time table and lay out exactly how my week will go each week so that I can stay on
track. I plan to decrease the amount of time I spend on activities such as social media and watching
television so that I can dedicate more time to achieving this goal. Basically, this goal is all about
managing my time appropriately and that is what I plan to do. I plan on scheduling my day
accordingly as if I had a physical class to go to and use that time to study and complete assignments.
Another action that I plan on taking toward this goal is to take my work with me everywhere,
including vacations. I take time off regularly for family vacations and just quality family time but
because of this challenging goal, I must sacrifice some of that time. I see it as a short term sacrifice
that those who care about my success will

Metaphors In Sidney s Sonnet 31
Sonnet 31 is an attempt to capture the sorrow and desolation experienced in heartache, through the
focal symbol of the poem, the moon. This acts as a metaphor for the narrator s deteriorated mental
state, evoking sympathy in the reader. Sidney s sonnet offers us an insight into the narrator s anguish,
brought into the reader s mind through his choice of form, rhyme and meter. Sonnet 31 forms a part of
Sidney s collection Astrophil and Stella, a sequence of 108 sonnets and 11 songs, telling the story of
the narrator Astrophil, chasing after his unrequited lover Stella. It has been said the sonnet sequence is
partly autobiographical; many believe it is based upon Sidney s own feelings for Lady Penelope Rich.
The name Astrophil translates to star crossed lover and Stella means star, the continuation of this
theme provides a route for all the sonnets to follow, Sonnet 31 being no exception as the reader
witnesses our narrator finding solace in the moon.
As a reader we become instantly aware of the metaphorical qualities the moon holds. The poem begins
With how sad steps, Oh Moon, thou climb st the skies, the pathetic fallacy here giving direction to the
rest of the poem. The notion of the moon coming up signifies a transition from day to night, light to
dark, perhaps revealing the movement of Astrophil s mental state, from one of peace to one of
frustration and confusion. Sad steps (l.1) further exposes this idea as the personification of the moon
becomes noticeable.

Essay about The Film Schindler s List versus Novel...
Schindler s List
The film Schindler s List has a tendency to simplify and sentimentalize the character Oskar Schindler
compared to the novel Schindler s Ark in which the film is based on. The film Schindler s List lacks
depth and understanding of the character Oskar Schindler, and tends to over dramatize events within
the film in which Oskar Schindler is responsible for.
The novel Schindler s Ark begins its in depth documentary story with the earlier life of Oskar

The Legal Action For Negligence Against Jimmy Farnham And...
Answer A
The major shareholder might not be successful in the legal action for negligence against Jimmy
Farnham. This is because the audit firm was not under a contract agreement with the major
shareholder, and the fact that the major shareholder can be considered a third party in the contract
between Jimmy Farnham and Aussie Outback Tours Ltd. The law is not definitively clear on the
auditor s liability to third parties (Porter, Ó hÓgartaigh Baskerville, 2012). An auditor owes a duty of
care to their direct client, and any damages incurred by the client due to negligence on the part of the
auditor makes the auditor liable in terms of contract and also in tort (Nguyen Rajapakse, 2008). A
claim of liability by a third party to an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had advised the client to assign the review and evaluation of the new database to an independent
contractor. The fact that Jimmy was not familiar with the new system of accounting that the client was
implementing and therefore not involved in the changeover process absolves him and his audit firm
from direct liability. It is also hard to prove that the error in material inventory that resulted from the
changeover was committed when Jimmy was auditing the firm or at the instance of feeding the data
into the system. Admittance to liability is also dependent on whether the auditor had placed
disclaimers of responsibility in the preparation of the audit reports.
The criteria for the determination of the auditor s liability to other parties apart from the clients are as
follows:
The defendant must have reasonably foreseen that the statements would be put to use by the plaintiff
A relevant degree of proximity must exist between the parties involved in the litigation
The imposition of a duty for care by the plaintiff on the defendant must be just and reasonable
(Davies, 1991; ACCA, 2009).
There is no evidence presented in the case above to the effect that the defendant was aware of the
likelihood of the judgements he made being used as a basis to make judgement by the plaintiff. The
plaintiff also has a hard tasks of proving that there was a close proximity between them and

The Rising Cost Of Higher Education
The rising cost of higher education is a topic of large concern today. As tuition prices continue to grow
at a quicker pace than housing prices, consumer prices and average hourly wages, it is becoming
harder and harder for the average American family to afford going to college. What factors have been
driving this large rise in tuition prices? This thesis aims to set up a supply and demand framework to
analyze the various forces that may be driving the price of higher education to rise above the
Consumer Price Index over time. After defining long run supply and demand for the higher education
market, this thesis addresses economy wide factors and summarizes the findings of Robert Archibald
and David Feldman in Why Does College Cost So Much?. Next, this thesis examines higher education
specific factors and specifically tests the hypothesis: The long run supply curve for higher educations
is theoretically vertical. The inability for supply to meet the increasing demand for higher education
results in a supply and demand imbalance that drives up the price of higher education. After looking at
both economy wide and higher education specific factors, it is apparent that slow productivity growth
and large wage increases for professors (cost disease) and an unresponsive total enrollment (supply) in
the face of rising demand are largely driving the increase in the price of higher education. In order to
curb this rising prices, his thesis will offer a few policy implications and

Romanticism In Life Of Pi
Life of Pi Yann Martel
Life of Pi reflects many of the themes we discussed this week. For the sake of wordcount, I m going to
assume that everyone is familiar with the story. If not, Shmoop has a decent, to the point plot summary
here: https://www.shmoop.com/life of pi/summary.html
The most evident similarity between Life of Pi and early Romanticism is the speaker s connection to
nature. Wordsworth and Coleridge are primarily enamored by nature at a macro level. In Tintern
Abbey, Wordsworth writes The day is come when I again repose / Here, under this dark sycamore, and
view / These plots of cottage ground, these orchard tufts (9 11), displaying his affinity for looking out
at the grandness of nature. Raised at a zoo, Pi s specific knowledge and deep connection to the animal
world is more akin to Charlotte Smith s botanical approach to native species in Beachy Head. That
said, Pi s love for nature is great and comparable to each piece we read this week.
While we didn t discuss it explicitly, I believe that Beachy Head introduces the sublime. The sheer
enormity of Beachy Head places it in the category of violent beauty. Reading even the first line of the
poem, On thy stupendous summit, rock sublime! (1), makes clear the awe inspiring nature of the cliff.
Alone at sea (with a Bengal tiger, no less), the sublime overwhelms Pi. Richard Parker, the tiger, is a
magnificent creature, but deadly, and the ocean is beautiful and terrifying in it s own right. The movie
portrays this well with stunning cinematography, displaying Pi s profound solitude on vast expanses of
sea and sky.
On a philosophical level, Life of Pi is about Pi Patel s relationship with religion. Pi is raised Hindu but
chooses to practice Catholicism and Islam as well. The book opens by telling us that Pi s is a story that
will make you believe in God (Martell 2012 x). Pi is devout in his beliefs about three religions, and
about nature and goodness. Like Wordsworth and Coleridge, Pi s faith is strong but separate from
traditional organized religion. Pi s beliefs are similar to Coleridge s one life (mentioned in The Eolian
Harp (24 25), a belief that all beings are connected spiritually through God. This is seen as Pi
considers the

Witness, By Peter Weir
The 1985 film Witness displays the concept of No man is an island, entire of itself, every man is an
island, entire of itself, a part of the main. This means that every man has a place within
society/community and cannot make one by himself. Peter Weir explores this in the film with
belonging and not belonging, and is shown through the narrative, context, camera angles, soundtrack
etc. From different perspectives, in the film, it may or may not be possible to successfully withdraw
from mainstream society and belong to a closed community. It is stated that every man is a part of the
main in John Donne s poem No man is an island. This is shown to be possible from different
perspectives in Peter Weir s film, Witness .

Comparing The LS Vs. The Pyloric Sphincter
But if the stomach does not reach the proper level of acidity the LES stays open which means stomach
acid refluxes into the esophagus.
Unlike the Lower Esophageal Sphincter the Pyloric Sphincter remains closed until stomach levels are
high enough. This can result in indigestion, bloating, or forcing stomach contents back into the
esophagus. The Pyloric Sphincter is a valve that holds stomach contents until they are ready to go into
the intestines; the Pyloric Sphincter works in the opposite way of the LES. Thy Pyloric Sphincter will
not open until stomach levels are high enough; this is nature s way of making sure that food is
properly digested before flowing through the rest of the GI system.
Stomach acid is made by cells in the stomach.

Investment And Loan Case Summary
On January 20, 2006, Sucklal and Ella Louise Smith ( Smith ) purchased property located at 8511
Autumn Grain Gate, Laurel, Maryland 20723 ( the Property ). The deed was recorded on January 25,
2006. Sucklal and Smith held the property as tenants in common. Sucklal and Smith financed the
purchase of the property, in part, with a loan in exchange for a note in the amount of $530,100.00,
secured by a lien on the property. Freemont Investment Loan was the originating lender for the
mortgage. Through a series of conveyances, the note transferred through Avelo Mortgage and
MTGLQ Investors, LP, and the note is currently held by Goldman Sachs Mortgage Company ( GSMC

In response, GSMC and Ocwen filed a motion for summary judgment that was supported by the note,

2013. In opposition to the substitute trustees motion for summary judgment, Sucklal argued that the
trial court judge should recuse himself and that the documents purporting to evince the debt were
fraudulent. At the conclusion of the hearing the trial judge found for the substitute trustees , and gave
the reasoning behind his findings orally on the record. On October 11, 2013, the Circuit Court entered
judgment in favor of the substitute trustees via written order, providing that it

Metaphors and Repetition in Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
In Dylan Thomas Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, the speaker is a son talking to his aging
father and pleading with him to fight against death. The son knows that death is the inevitable end to
every life, but feels one should not give up to death too easily. By using metaphor, imagery, and
repetition, Thomas reinforces the son s message that aging men see their lives with sudden clarity and
realize how they might have lived happier, more productive lives. These men rail against fate, fighting
for more time to set things right.
The son uses dark and the end of day as metaphors for death. He ... Show more content on

Wise men know that death is appropriate, but they do not embrace it. These wise men fight death
because they feel their words have not been adequate enough to touch or illuminate others. The son
creates a visual image of the inadequacy wise men feel upon realizing their words have not
enlightened others their words had forked no lightning. The son also mentions good men who do not
die peacefully. These men despair that their feeble deeds did not accomplish enough. Even though
they were good men, they feel they could have done so much more if given the time.
The son next tells his father how wild and grave men also struggled with death. Wild men spent their
lives frivolously, wishing time on its way. They learn when it is too late that they hurried time too fast
and now they cannot recapture what they so wantonly spent. Their lives were foolishly wasted. The
son also mentions grave or serious men who review their lives with a swift lucidity when death is
upon them. These solemn, sober men now realize life could have been more joyous had they been a
little more blind. If life is taken a little less seriously, one could blaze like meteors and be gay.
Repetition at the end of each stanza is effectively used to reinforce the message to fight back against
death. The son implores his father to hang on any way he can and begs him to use joy or tears or anger
to remain in this life. Other men, be they wise or frivolous, serious or

  • 2. The Impact of Corporate Governance on Firm Performance in... Introduction Corporate governance is a field in economics that investigates how to secure/motivate efficient management of corporations by the use of incentive mechanisms, such as contracts, organizational designs and legislation. This is often limited to the question of improving financial performance, for example, how the corporate owners can secure/motivate that the corporate managers will deliver a competitive rate of return. (Mathiesen, 2002). Another definition is Corporate Governance is concerned with holding the balance between economic and social goals and between individual and communal goals. The corporate governance framework is there to encourage the efficient use of resources and equally to require accountability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chhaochharia and Grinstein (2007) looked at the impact of the 2002 governance rules established by the Sarbanes Oxley Act on firm value. They found that less compliant firms earn positive abnormal returns compared to more compliant firms. They also found that less compliant large firms earn positive abnormal returns but less compliant small firms earn negative abnormal returns. Bhagat and Bolton (2008) examined the relationship between corporate governance and performance, and found that better corporate governance, board members stock ownership, and CEO Chair separation are positively related to operating performance. They also found that the probability of management turnover is positively related to board members stock ownership and board independence when firms perform poorly. Patibandla (2006) examined the ownership structure and firm performance on Indian firms by separating large investors into private foreignin stitutional investors and government owned local financial institutions. • 3. A Landmark Surgery At approximately 10:30 AM on the 19th of October 1927 Carrie Buck was escorted back to her room to begin the short recovery period she was required to take after having had an inch of flesh removed from each of her Fallopian tubes with the loose ends then being professionally and caringly cauterized and sutured closed. This woman had just undergone a landmark surgery, not because of the highly technical aspects of the surgery, or anything of the sort, but rather because the entire procedure had been performed against her will. Following Carrie out of the operating room was Dr. John H Bell, the superintendent of the Virginia Colony for Epilectics and Feebleminded, for whom this case marked a victory in the three year legal battle which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is in other countries where we are most familiar with the process, most specifically Nazi Germany. The efforts of the Third Reich to create a genetically superior race of Aryans was another example of the application of eugenics (Leuchtenburg 12). The most basic tenant of this practice is the premise that weak parents will lead to weak offspring, who will in turn produce more of the same genetically deficient specimens and in time degrade the integrity of the entire human race. Upon entering the legal battle that would decide who had the right to preside over her reproductive decision, Carrie Buck knew that the outcome of the case would not only have an effect on her future but that of thousands of others who were having their rights brought into question as well. Beyond merely giving the go ahead for her own sterilization, the loss of the case would bring about a new set of legal justifications for the systematic, controlled extinction of those who were not considered of the ideal genetic makeup. This wasnt just a fight for an individuals freedom, it was a fight for equality as promised by legislature that even then threatened to strip away what it had promised in its governing documents. The official name of the case is Carrie Buck v John Hendren Bell Superintendent of State Colony for Epilectics and Feeble Minded. The program is rigorous and while taught completely in the online capacity still offers all of the support and accountability that a seated classroom does. The professors are exceptional and always available for any needed help. My time in the BSN program at California University has ended up being that of self reflection and discovery, commitment to higher learning, and personal as well as professional achievement. Career Goals My three to five year goals include attending Robert Morris University (RMU) for my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, working with the Nurses without Borders program, being published in a mainstream nursing journal and becoming a Certified Nephrology Nurse. I have specific plans in place to achieve these goals as well as a strong support system to ensure success so I can maintain my responsibilities as a wife, mother and an employee as well. I have currently been accepted into the DNP program at Robert Morris University and will start August 27, 2015 and hope to complete the program in three and a half years. Compare And Contrast David And Bathesheba Several things have not changed over ancient times very girl craves to be pursued, every man struggles with lust, and the Lord can use ordinary humans to do extraordinary things. These are world wide things and have been around since the beginning of time. We as girls desire to be irreplaceable and want to be wanted. Even Christian culture has played into this. Boaz pursued Ruth in a way that greatly displayed the love of Christ. They were a lot like spaghetti and meatballs great by themselves but a powerhouse when combined. The old testament also documents the hardships in relationships in our fallen world. There are also sweet records of the works He has done in peoples lives. And the result of immovable faith. Even in today s sin infested world when someone has an extraordinary mother who loves the Lord and consistently instills grace in her children it can really show in their every day eyes. Hannah and her husband Elkanah had a deep love for one another despite having a third party in their strange love triangle. • 6. Cultural Impact Of The Harlem Renaissance The Harlem Renaissance showed a bizarre cultural change that helped the image of Africans around the world. The Renaissance s purpose was to project the rebirth of the African American arts. Though, it originally wasn t known as the Harlem Renaissance, but instead called the Negro Renaissance by Alain Locke. It all started with a insane migration of African Americans traveling north to pursue a new future for themselves and their families. With Harlem being the focus of where most of the African American migrate to, it also became where the America s culture shifted. The Harlem Renaissance removed the old views of how blacks are supposed to be treated as slaves and gave them a way to show that they aren t that different compared to other races. Jazz was the creation of the combination of African rhythm and the European harmony. It was popular enough to bring the attention of the whites towards the African American community. Soon enough, people of all backgrounds were willing to cross into the Harlem community to enjoy the exotic music jazz provides. With it s insane popularity, the term New Negro was created where the black cultural community was able to establish a connection with New York s artistic mainstream. Hence it assisted in breaking down the stereotype barrier that once separated the white and black community since the founding of the United States. Joel Augustus Rogers, a journalist, believed that along with poetry, music was one of the fine arts that penetrated the soul and bring out all the richness and sincerity of the man (Asukile 24). However, the information of jazz did not become popular until Rogers wrote Jazz at Home. For that reason Rogers stated, Locke included it in The New Negro (1925), which became the cultural landmark anthology of the Harlem Renaissance (Asukile 23). The popularity of jazz raised in the white community when Paul Whiteman introduced jazz orchestra to them. Paul Whiteman s ability to take the best improvisations of jazz and coordinate it to jazz orchestra gave him the title King of Jazz by white critics. Yet, Whiteman had declined the title for King of Jazz . Whiteman believed that jazz was a African American invention and he did not have the ability to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Public debts tend to be large scale credit operations and are contracted on a national scale by central governments and on a lesser scale by provincial, regional, district, and municipal administrative bodies. In the U.S., public debts are also contracted by the states and by local governments, primarily for public works. Although government loans are for the most part not secured by physical assets, they are regarded in law as contracts carrying an obligation on the part of the debtor to repay. Nevertheless, governments, when hard pressed during economic crises or as a result of political upheavals, have sometimes repudiated their public debts in whole or in part. In many cases, also, a government to whom another is in debt may agree to forgive the debt or reschedule its payment over a longer period. History In earlier times debts contracted by heads of state had the legal status of personal debt; public debt emerged as a systematic element in a country s economy when regular sources of income became available to provide funds to repay loans, a monetary system became fully formed, and an organized money market came into operation. The first examples of public debt surfaced in the late 17th century in Europe and became more prevalent with the rise of the modern state and the banking and credit system that grew out of the Industrial Revolution. Today, the finances involved in contracting and redeeming the public debt of a country are a sizable proportion of its government budget. As the money for redemption of the public debt is raised principally through taxation, the size of the national debt is a factor in determining taxation rates. The word project thus actually originally meant something that comes before anything else happens . The International Project Management Association (IPMA), founded in Europe in 1967, has undergone a similar development and instituted the IPMA Competence Baseline (ICB). By dyeing assembled garments made of unbleached wool rather than batches of yarn before knitting, manufacturing time was trimmed and Benetton could produce garments upon demand, which minimized the need to maintain an extensive inventory. To produce many sweaters at reduced cost and financial risk, Benetton took advantage of an old Italian cottage industry. Benetton farmed out labor intensive production knitting and sewing to small, family owned companies (many owned in whole, or part, by Benetton management) throughout northeast Italy. Employing advanced technology, these companies allowed Benetton to manufacture in response to increased market demand both domestically and abroad with reduced financial risk. About 80 percent of production was farmed out to 450 subcontractors who employed about 20,000 workers in the Veneto region. The remaining 20 percent of value added, capital intensive production quality control and cutting and dyeing was performed in house. By 1983 Benetton payments for contract work equaled nearly six times the labor expense for work performed in its factories, according to the Harvard School of Business. • 12. The Invention Of The Dye Industry During WWII there were many advancements in modern weaponry, the production of larger weapons and faster planes allowed for devastation across the globe. Many of these weapons were very effective and while the war trudged on as did the new technology that arose from the hellish time. German forces, at this time, were on the frontlines in trenches as they tried to push back British and French troops. Although Germany s armies were strong they still struggled to advance on the British and French troops. Meanwhile in Germany, the dye industry was steadily producing economic growth but, the German army had other plans. These plans would eventually change the dynamic of war itself. It was 1915, German forces grew tired and started to look for other ways to advance on British and French troops. As stated before the dye industry was a great weapon. Except it wasn t the dye that was used but a chemical used to create the dye, chlorine. The German army filled canisters of chlorine and bought them to the battlefield. As they opened the canisters yellowish gas flowed from the metal cases directly toward two French regiments. The French regiments watched as this gas flowed toward them, before they knew it the gas had reached them. One by one French soldiers started choking on the gas as their lungs filled with chlorine. • 14. Prejudice In Reginald Rose s Twelve Angry Men Prejudice is the injury or damage resulting from some judgment or action of another in disregard of one s rights, according to Merriam Webster. In simpler terms, prejudice is being judged regarding one s religion, race, personality, physical appearance, etc. Unfortunately, everyone has given or received some form of prejudice. Prejudice also exists in the government, when cases and trials are solved. This can be shown through Reginald Rose s novel, Twelve Angry Men. In this novel, twelve jurors are designated to choose the verdict of a case. A sixteen year old boy is accused of murdering his father. If the jurors verdict is guilty, then the boy will receive a death sentence. The chosen jurors are locked in a room to decide the verdict, guilty or innocent. At the beginning, only one juror chose to vote not guilty, for the sake of reasonable doubt. The juror made thought out points and persuasively changed all other other jurors minds. By the end, all jurors chose to vote not guilty, except one. This particular juror voted guilty because he compared the defendant to his own son, whom he had problems with. This prejudice blocked his mind, making him confuse facts with his own judgment. With this prejudice, the juror was putting a boy s life at risk. Instead of seeing an innocent boy, he saw his son, and this was prejudice, blinding him. With no real points to defend why the boy is guilty, the juror was reminded that the boy on trial was not his son. It s not your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Magic Realism found scattered all across the book as magic realism is true to the Vicario brother s culture. Following the concept of magic realism, is the strong sense of honor in the novel. First and foremost, the Vicario brothers killed Santiago to the restore their sister s honor. Not all individuals could read and write, therefore images were very important in delivering messages and teachings. One artwork chosen is Annunciation by John Collier created in 2003. This modern artwork shows Gabriel asking Mary if she would become the mother of Jesus. The other one is the Holy Night Nativity Scene by Antonio Correggio created in 1530, which focuses on and sets the scene of Jesus birth. The Annunciation displays the moment Gabriel was sent by God to tell Mary she would become pregnant. This is present in the passage God sent angel Gabriel to a virgin and he said to Mary God has a surprise for you: You will become pregnant and give birth to a son and call his name Jesus (Luke 1:26 33). The artwork depicts Mary as a very young and innocent women, which is aided by her modern school inspired dress. • 23. Metaphors In Sidney s Sonnet 31 Sonnet 31 is an attempt to capture the sorrow and desolation experienced in heartache, through the focal symbol of the poem, the moon. This acts as a metaphor for the narrator s deteriorated mental state, evoking sympathy in the reader. Sidney s sonnet offers us an insight into the narrator s anguish, brought into the reader s mind through his choice of form, rhyme and meter. Sonnet 31 forms a part of Sidney s collection Astrophil and Stella, a sequence of 108 sonnets and 11 songs, telling the story of the narrator Astrophil, chasing after his unrequited lover Stella. It has been said the sonnet sequence is partly autobiographical; many believe it is based upon Sidney s own feelings for Lady Penelope Rich. The name Astrophil translates to star crossed lover and Stella means star, the continuation of this theme provides a route for all the sonnets to follow, Sonnet 31 being no exception as the reader witnesses our narrator finding solace in the moon. As a reader we become instantly aware of the metaphorical qualities the moon holds. The poem begins With how sad steps, Oh Moon, thou climb st the skies, the pathetic fallacy here giving direction to the rest of the poem. The notion of the moon coming up signifies a transition from day to night, light to dark, perhaps revealing the movement of Astrophil s mental state, from one of peace to one of frustration and confusion. Sad steps (l.1) further exposes this idea as the personification of the moon becomes noticeable. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is because the audit firm was not under a contract agreement with the major shareholder, and the fact that the major shareholder can be considered a third party in the contract between Jimmy Farnham and Aussie Outback Tours Ltd. The law is not definitively clear on the auditor s liability to third parties (Porter, Ó hÓgartaigh Baskerville, 2012). An auditor owes a duty of care to their direct client, and any damages incurred by the client due to negligence on the part of the auditor makes the auditor liable in terms of contract and also in tort (Nguyen Rajapakse, 2008). The fact that Jimmy was not familiar with the new system of accounting that the client was implementing and therefore not involved in the changeover process absolves him and his audit firm from direct liability. It is also hard to prove that the error in material inventory that resulted from the changeover was committed when Jimmy was auditing the firm or at the instance of feeding the data into the system. Admittance to liability is also dependent on whether the auditor had placed disclaimers of responsibility in the preparation of the audit reports. The criteria for the determination of the auditor s liability to other parties apart from the clients are as follows: The defendant must have reasonably foreseen that the statements would be put to use by the plaintiff A relevant degree of proximity must exist between the parties involved in the litigation The imposition of a duty for care by the plaintiff on the defendant must be just and reasonable (Davies, 1991; ACCA, 2009). • 27. The Rising Cost Of Higher Education The rising cost of higher education is a topic of large concern today. As tuition prices continue to grow at a quicker pace than housing prices, consumer prices and average hourly wages, it is becoming harder and harder for the average American family to afford going to college. What factors have been driving this large rise in tuition prices? This thesis aims to set up a supply and demand framework to analyze the various forces that may be driving the price of higher education to rise above the Consumer Price Index over time. After defining long run supply and demand for the higher education market, this thesis addresses economy wide factors and summarizes the findings of Robert Archibald and David Feldman in Why Does College Cost So Much?. Next, this thesis examines higher education specific factors and specifically tests the hypothesis: The long run supply curve for higher educations is theoretically vertical. The inability for supply to meet the increasing demand for higher education results in a supply and demand imbalance that drives up the price of higher education. After looking at both economy wide and higher education specific factors, it is apparent that slow productivity growth and large wage increases for professors (cost disease) and an unresponsive total enrollment (supply) in the face of rising demand are largely driving the increase in the price of higher education. In order to curb this rising prices, his thesis will offer a few policy implications and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Romanticism In Life Of Pi Life of Pi Yann Martel Life of Pi reflects many of the themes we discussed this week. For the sake of wordcount, I m going to assume that everyone is familiar with the story. If not, Shmoop has a decent, to the point plot summary here: https://www.shmoop.com/life of pi/summary.html The most evident similarity between Life of Pi and early Romanticism is the speaker s connection to nature. Wordsworth and Coleridge are primarily enamored by nature at a macro level. In Tintern Abbey, Wordsworth writes The day is come when I again repose / Here, under this dark sycamore, and view / These plots of cottage ground, these orchard tufts (9 11), displaying his affinity for looking out at the grandness of nature. Raised at a zoo, Pi s specific knowledge and deep connection to the animal world is more akin to Charlotte Smith s botanical approach to native species in Beachy Head. That said, Pi s love for nature is great and comparable to each piece we read this week. While we didn t discuss it explicitly, I believe that Beachy Head introduces the sublime. The sheer enormity of Beachy Head places it in the category of violent beauty. Reading even the first line of the poem, On thy stupendous summit, rock sublime! (1), makes clear the awe inspiring nature of the cliff. Alone at sea (with a Bengal tiger, no less), the sublime overwhelms Pi. Richard Parker, the tiger, is a magnificent creature, but deadly, and the ocean is beautiful and terrifying in it s own right. The movie portrays this well with stunning cinematography, displaying Pi s profound solitude on vast expanses of sea and sky. On a philosophical level, Life of Pi is about Pi Patel s relationship with religion. Pi is raised Hindu but chooses to practice Catholicism and Islam as well. The book opens by telling us that Pi s is a story that will make you believe in God (Martell 2012 x). Pi is devout in his beliefs about three religions, and about nature and goodness. Like Wordsworth and Coleridge, Pi s faith is strong but separate from traditional organized religion. Pi s beliefs are similar to Coleridge s one life (mentioned in The Eolian Harp (24 25), a belief that all beings are connected spiritually through God. This is seen as Pi considers the ... This can result in indigestion, bloating, or forcing stomach contents back into the esophagus. The Pyloric Sphincter is a valve that holds stomach contents until they are ready to go into the intestines; the Pyloric Sphincter works in the opposite way of the LES. By using metaphor, imagery, and repetition, Thomas reinforces the son s message that aging men see their lives with sudden clarity and realize how they might have lived happier, more productive lives. The son also mentions good men who do not die peacefully. These men despair that their feeble deeds did not accomplish enough. Even though they were good men, they feel they could have done so much more if given the time. The son next tells his father how wild and grave men also struggled with death. Wild men spent their lives frivolously, wishing time on its way. They learn when it is too late that they hurried time too fast and now they cannot recapture what they so wantonly spent. Their lives were foolishly wasted. The son also mentions grave or serious men who review their lives with a swift lucidity when death is upon them. These solemn, sober men now realize life could have been more joyous had they been a little more blind. If life is taken a little less seriously, one could blaze like meteors and be gay. Repetition at the end of each stanza is effectively used to reinforce the message to fight back against death.
