Should Non Citizens Have Constitutional Rights
Should Non Citizens Have the Constitutional Rights The U.S. has always been a "melting pot". People from all over the world come to the U.S.
Under U.S. law, both legal and illegal immigrants have enjoyed almost all of the same constitutional rights. There are only few rights that only the
citizens have, such as the right to vote and the right to run for federal elections. Those exceptions are listed in the Constitution. Non–citizens should
have the same constitutional rights as the U.S. citizens. If the non–citizens do enjoy the same constitutional rights with other U.S. citizens, then the
Arizona Immigration Law clearly was unconstitutional. Some people might argue that illegal immigrants should not have any constitutional rights.

The law requires law enforcement officials to detain anyone whom they reasonably suspect of being an illegal immigrant. Glenn Greenwald was a
columnist for Salon. He worked as a constitutional and civil rights litigator. Greenwald writes, "If a foreign national is arrested and accused by the
U.S. Gov't of committing a crime, does anyone believe they can be sentenced to prison without a jury trial, denied the right...would necessarily have to
claim that the U.S. Government could do all of that to foreign nationals." The U.S. should give equal rights to everyone. Since the Constitution
specifically uses the word "person" instead of citizens, then non–citizens should also enjoy the equal rights. If they do then the Arizona Immigration
Law was unconstitutional. The law violated the Fourth amendment, protection against 'unreasonable search and seizure'. The police stopped and
questioned people only because they look like Mexicans. They did not have a 'probable cause' and that was clearly a violation of the Constitution. The
law also violates the Fourteenth amendment, which says that no state can "deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the law."
Under the new State law, Arizona is not giving immigrants or Mexicans equal rights or protection, when the law enforcement officials can question and
detain any suspects without

Explain Why The Government Should Provide To Citizens
In order to determine what goods and services the government should provide to its citizens, it is important to understand the reason why the
government, whether it is federal, state or local play a significant role in providing goods and services to its citizens. After conducting my research, the
primary reason is that it is economically feasible and cost–effective for the government to provide these goods and services to ensure that all citizens
are fairly receiving the basic needs for survival. In the United States of America, the government is responsible for protecting and serving all citizens;
therefore, the goods or services provided to all citizens are non–rivalrous and non–excludable. According to our textbook, goods and services ... Show

For instance, our National Defense and National Parks are two good examples of non–rivalrous and non–excludable goods and services. Therefore, the
government is in a position to ensure that every citizen reaps the benefits, preventing the deprivation of use due to the inability to pay and other
discriminatory factors in our society. Nevertheless, the true reality is that certain goods or services value is greater than one person can afford;
therefore, our collective tax payments allow the government to pay these goods and services on our behalf, not burdening one individual citizen to pay
the full amount. We must keep in mind that non–rivalrous and non–excludable goods and services are essential in building strong, healthy communities
while strengthening our economic survival. Although it is important for the state government to provide non–rivalrous and non–excludable goods and
services that educate our children, repair roads and bridges, provide healthcare, and serve and protect our communities, the inequality of the distribution
demeans and oppresses the citizens residing in disadvantaged communities. For instance, although disadvantaged families receive these goods and
services, the level of quality are not equal to the middle class or wealthier

Purpose of the Declaration of Independence
Rights of the People
A democracy is a system of government controlled by the people, not by one certain group or individual. In the Declaration of Independence it states
that "all men are created equal," an idea which leads to the concept that all citizens should have the same rights, responsibilities, and influence in the
governing of their country. In writing the Declaration of Independence Thomas Jefferson was trying to break his ties with the harsh and non–democratic
rule of the British and begin a new, equal society and government for America.
Democracy is defined as "A system of government in which ultimate political authority is vested in the People." The Declaration's ... Show more content

He believed that it was time for America to break away from Britain's rule and become its own nation, which could govern itself. To do this, though, it
was necessary to write some sort of document which would state to the world the basic beliefs on which the nation's new government would be built.
This document was the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson felt that Britain was doing nothing but hurting America with unfair rules and all sorts of
ridiculous taxes. The colonies and colonists had no rights in determining the very laws which dictated the way they led their lives. The Declaration of
Independence was a formal document stating that the people of America were breaking away from Britain and that the American colonies were now
"Free and Independent States."
The Declaration of Independence was the cornerstone of American freedom and equality. By writing this document, the American Colonies could now
begin the process of starting a new way of life and a new government. Obviously, at the time the Declaration of Independence was written the concept
of "equality" was more limited than it is today. Certainly, all members of colonial America did not share equal status. However the concepts of the
Declaration of Independence have evolved more fully over the centuries

American Citizens Should Vote Research Paper
The American citizens should vote because if they want to see a change that will benefit them as a citizen of the country, it is mandatory for them to
partake in the elections in order for the changes to be made. "An argument against compulsory voting is that it is inconsistent with the freedom

the people. Through this way , the American citizens voices will be heard. According to (text 1 lines 25–30) "Ideally, a democracy will take into

Should Illegal Immigrants Be Citizens
The U.S. immigrant population stood at more than 42.4 million (13.3 percent) of the total U.S. population of 318.9 million in 2014, according to
American Community Service (ACS) data. Clearly our nation needs an inclusive immigration plan. Since the number of immigrants is increasing
drastically, granting immigrants U.S. citizenship will benefit the nation drastically in many ways. If the U.S. Congress understood the reasons why
illegal immigrants should be citizens, then he would grant amnesty to the dreamers. The current policy for granting amnesty is restricting illegal
immigrants from getting amnesty in the United States. Amnesty is an official pardon for people who have been convicted of political offense. To begin

All Citizens Should Not Be Required by Law to Vote
Freedom is defined as the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. As citizens of the Unites States of
America we are granted the right of freedom, speaking our mind, and casting our opinion as we please. With these rights is the right to vote if we
choose to do so. All citizens should not be required by law to vote because it would be taking away our freedom and adding to the percentage of
uneducated voters. If we are forced by law to vote then our freedom and rights are being taken away from us. Votingis our opportunity to express our
opinion when we choose to. There are amendments in the constitution that are put in place to grant us the freedom to vote if we want to. In The US
Constitution stated in Amendment XV, which was ratified by the states in 1870it says:
Section 1–" The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race,
color, or previous condition of servitude. The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by
any State on account of sex."

If we cannot be denied the right to vote how is justifiable for us to be forced to exercise this right. It no longer becomes a privilege when we are
required to do something. Requiring citizens to vote is just not

Military grade weapons should be available to American Citizens. For example, with military grade weapons you can protect yourself and your
family. This shows that if someone is coming up to you with a gun and trying to take your wallet, purse, etc. you can pull out your gun and fend them
off. This also shows that if someone comes up to you with a gun or is breaking in and you don't have a gun you can't protect yourself as much as you
could have. If you do not have a weapon than you are as unprotected as a defenseless duckling. In addition, they can stop people from doing dangerous
things to themselves and others. This shows that if someone happens to start shooting in a public area, you would be able to draw on them and

Should There Be More Eligible Citizens To Vote
The United States, in my personal opinion would most definitely be better in all aspects. The more people that participate in political processing,
the more chances of us coming together and picking what is better for our government. I will be explaining to you why I think it will be better if
more eligible citizens participated in the political process, and start voicing there opinions and joining political campaigns. They're plenty of ways
that us eligible citizens come together to help better our own selves. First off, I am going to let you in on why it is not a good thing if most eligible
citizens do not participate. Lets say if there is 200 people but only 150 vote, we will only be getting opinions from three–fourth of the said to be
population, therefore one–fourth of the people had the opportunity to vote. However, They chose not to or were not educated enough to know where

Citizens Should Not Pay For Healthcare
Citizens Should Not Pay For Health Care
One of the foundations of every just society is the protection of every person's right to healthcare. This statement underscores the importance of the
discourse on whether working citizens ought to pay for healthcare. The debate has been in the limelight since the beginning of the 20th century.
Successive governments in the United States have over the years attempted to institute a universal healthcare system for the United States citizenry, but
repeatedly the proposals for a free healthcare system in the country has been fought and defeated. In light of this information, this paper seeks to
answer the question on why the working citizens in the United States should not pay for healthcare. The paper draws statistical and empirical
information in support of this thesis, as well as information that those opposed to the idea put forward. In essence, therefore, this argumentative paper
seeks to discredit some of the ideas that the naysayers put forward in their opposition to the idea of a free healthcare system in the United States while
at the same time providing solid arguments on why working citizens should not pay for healthcare.
The debate about whether or not the government should pay for healthcare begins earnestly with the understanding of the constitution. Particularly, the
constitution provides for the inalienable rights to liberty, happiness, and life. Healthcare provision falls squarely under the right to life and the

Should The Correctional Be Reformed Into Law Abiding...
Most individuals believe criminals are transmitted to prison to be reformed into law–abiding citizens. Typically, we focus on the crimes committed and
neglect the fact that they are humans that made an error; people who require guidance. The correctional system's original purpose is retribution,
incapacitation, deterrence, and rehabilitation. While the correctional system was created with the right intentions, it has caused negative psychological
impacts. Research has shown that a majority of criminals are deteriorating. The correctional facility not only affects criminals, but guards as well.
Police guards have one of the highest mental health rates. Overall, since this is an issue that affects a variety of people, a possible solution to this could
be to get them professional psychological assistance, improve overcrowding issues or getting their families involved. Federal prisons are supposed to
be solving problems, not creating them. Bureau of Justice Statistics, Department of Justice, stated that out of the 44.8% of federal prisoners that had
mental illness only 4.8% had a history of mental disorders. This demonstrates that the majority of prisoners did not experience any mental disorders
before being admitted to prison. Prisoners go through traumatic situations in prisons that they have never witnessed, which can trigger and create these
disorders. According to PBS, one of the most trusted news programs on television, in federal prisons 61 percent of

Should American Citizens Have Selfless Service
Should citizens be required to serve their country for a two year term? The truth is some Americans are useless and are unfortunately procreating,
consequently evolving this country into an unpatriotic and lazy mentality. Furthermore the current state of disunity amongst our citizens presents the
US with a selfish individualistic image. This may only be a portion of this great country but it is undoubtedly becoming an endemic. All capable
bodies should be eager to assist this country in a time of need. American citizens live a better life than they know it, and most are too blind or
ignorant to see it. The idea of selfless service used to be a core value to this country, now less than "1% of Americans risk their lives for their country".

Why Should Citizens Be Able To Own Exotic Animals
Should Citizens be able to Own Exotic Animals? What exactly is an "Exoctic animal"? An animal that's isn't usually kept as a pet. For instance, a
Lion, Scorpion, or even a Tarantula. No, citizens should not be able to own exotic animals. I say this for many reasons, one of which is the simple
fact that these animals are far to dangerous for any person who isn't a zoologist to care for. Exotic animals aren't domesticated, in other words, they
are not tamed. That fact is what many people fail to realize. They may think "It'll be so cool to own a baby tiger." But what about when that baby tiger
is no longer a baby? Not to mention that these animals are time consuming and extremely expensive. If you think vet trips for

Gun Control Laws Should Not The Safety Of The Citizens
America is the number one country for number of gun related deaths ratio each year. "In Germany 381, in France 255, in Canada 165 in the United
Kingdom 68, in Australia 65, in Japan 39 and in the United States, 11,127" (Moore Michael, 51:15–51:48). Due to the United States having the greatest
number of gun related deaths, it is almost essential to implement gun–control laws that restrict people from purchasing and owning dangerous firearms.
The laws that are created to control the guns should ultimately keep the safety of the citizens first. Of course, there is no easy way or solution to please
both sides of the argument, but there should be a balance between both sides.

In the 1900s America like other counties during that time considered guns a tool used to survive and protect. "As Americans civilized the wilderness,
they would eventually be able to rely not just on their own skills at individual self–defense for protection, but on laws and civil authorities and the other
institutions of government they were building " ( Whitney, Pg. 103). In the early 1900s The United States did not have the modern civil authorities that
are used today. Citizens relied on firearms to protect not only themselves but their family, and property because law enforcement was basic and simple.
What was deemed acceptable then is not now in America and that is why the Second Amendment was ideal in the 1900s. Firearms of military grade
that have the ability to shoot 700–950 rounds/min, like the M16, did not exist. Firearms during that time did not come close the capability of modern
weapons that are available today and that is one of the reasons why gun control was not a pressing issue. The need for Gun control became necessary
throughout history as technology advanced and different types of firearms emerged that were more powerful and deadly. Also the issues of people
becoming more interested in guns not only for civic duty but for entertainment/ recreational use lead to

Mandatory Military Service
Military service should be mandatory for all American citizens. In lighter terms we could refer to it as the All American Selective Service Act, which
will require all Americans to register for Selective Service as equal partners in the defense of America (Rangel). The average person, at one point or
another, considers what they are going to do with their lives. The military has something to offer everyone. Deciding what to do with your life can be
filled with uncertainty and procrastination. Selective service offers invaluable experiences, improves character, teach much needed skills and
increase patriotism or appreciation for freedom. Due to recent increase in riots regarding black lives matter and our new president elect it
demonstrates that the average American citizens needs to experience the entire aspect of how America operates. It would be helpful for citizens to see
another side of life instead of what they have been subjected to possibly their entire life. Some may say that Selective service violates our freedom,
destroys voluntarism and diverts youth from college education or career pursuit but destroying our America by violent demonstrations and turning on
one another should not be the American way (NYLN). So maybe by having the enriched military experience it will bring the American people together
for a common goal which is to make American great.
The military provides invaluable experiences for the youth of America. Those who

identity in society. There are many other things that can help influence your identity, but your family's background is one of the main ways and this is
evident In "Public and Private Language" by Richard Rodriquez. Depending on what background you're from your identity will automatically be
determined. There are many different factors in this idea that play a vital part however. For example if you come from an Asian backgroundpeople will

American Citizens Should Be Required To Vote
Many people feel that voting is important and most people feel like it's only right to do your part in choosing your leader. In the US we are not
forced to vote however some feel we should be. Now in the 1820s in america the only group of people that can vote was white men who owned
land. As times changed other groups got the chance to vote and participate in choosing our leader which is in fact a big deal. In my personal
opinion I don't think we should be required to vote because no matter what it is us as U.S. citizen should always have a choice. Okay, so the first
reason I feel we shouldn't be required to vote is because the younger age citizens aren't really in tune with what's going on in the political world.

Undocumented Immigrants Should Not Be A Citizen Of The...
Who deserves to be a citizen of the United States (U.S.)? The founders of The United States of America believed people who immigrated and spent
years building lives in this country deserved citizenship. They were also keenly aware that making new immigrants wait for citizenship while denying
them the very rights that Americans had just fought to claim for themselves would be detrimental to our relatively new and fragile country. Today, it's a
question President Barack Obama and Congress have been trying to answer. As the President and lawmakers, alike, negotiate the contours of an
immigration reform bill, they should keep in mind that the granting of legal status to undocumented immigrants would be a boon for the United States'
economy. Moreover, allowing undocumented immigrants to become U.S. citizens would be equally beneficial to America. Legal status and citizenship
enable undocumented immigrants to produce and earn significantly more than they do when they are on the economic sidelines. The resulting
productivity and wage gains ripple through the economy because immigrants are not just workers, but they are also consumers and taxpayers. Once
illegal immigrants are granted citizenship, the newly welcomed citizens can begin to spend their increased earnings on goods and services that will
stimulate demand in the United States' economy, which will, ultimately, help create jobs and expand the economy as well.
Currently, illegal immigration is a growing concern in the United

Im–mi–gra–tion "The action of coming to live permanently in a foreign country." Immigration has been an issue in the US for ages. Many feel the
need to blame these people for how our economy is, but I disagree. These people should be given the chance to legally live in the US. Although they
did enter illegally, they work harder than most legal citizens. They want a better future and we should allow them to have it. That is why I believe
strongly in letting them become legal citizens of the US.
I believe that illegal immigrants should be given the chance to be here legally. Many families are torn apart because of deportation. Some mothers
have been forced to leave their kids alone here. This could end up with the kids in the foster system if they have no family here. I've heard many
stories of how hard it is for people to cross the border. All they want is a better future. That is what America was built on. Immigrants coming here

to cross the border. He will find a job and send the money to his family back home. After he has a stable job in the US, his wife will then cross the
border too. Sometimes they will bring their kids with them, and other times the kids are left behind as crossing the border is not easy. Many families
will keep sending money back to their parents in order to help them. When you turn the TV on immigration

Why Athena Should Not Be A Citizen
For years, Athens and her empire thrived under Pericles; therefore it is only logical that if Athens were to return to similar power, they should follow
similar teachings. There are countless reasons why this was in the people's best interest for only pure Athenians to be citizens of Athens. Most notably,
for the following: the teachings of Pericles allowed the city to come together as one and create a singular united front for the world to see and respect
built from their strong sense of identity post Peloponnesian War. Additionally, it was not possible that those who were not of pure Athenian blood to
have had the same level of commitment to her great empire as pure blooded Athenians did. Consequently, Athenians viewed Metics as second class...

was not born of Athenian parents and did not deserve the rights of an individual who is, to include passing her citizenship down to her children. The
manipulation on behalf of Naera and the fact that this became a trial more than a century after Pericles's citizenship law in 451 BCE, not only
exemplifies, but gives validity and justification to the pride Athenians felt in being Athenian and the consequent disdain and distrust for any outsider.

Should American Citizens Be Required To Vote Essay
Whether or not American citizens should be regulated in national elections.
Is a controversial issue. There is a debate if american elections should be a voluntary thing or should be forced. One side of the argument is that
requiring citizens to vote will result in a stronger democracy. However Americans should not be regulated to vote because it is a violation of their
constitutional right, and forcing voters will result in inaccurate election outcome.
American citizens should not be entitled or required to vote, because it goes against the first amendment which is the right to not speak, and choose
our own choices, for example in text 4 line 11 it states "Democracy is about freedom", In other words those who live in a democratic nation such as the
united states should have the right to withhold their vote or opinion on the election. This reveals that the requirements of the American citizens to vote
is highly unconstitutional. This is significant because the united states was built upon the right to free speech and freedom to not have an opinion, and
forcing its people to vote is not only unconstitutional but goes against what this country is founded upon. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Should Gun Ownership Be A Right For All Citizens?
Should gun ownership be a right for all citizens? Of the approximate 875 million firearms legally owned in the world, American citizens own one
quarter of these. Our second amendment, "the right to bear arms", establishes this right for us. While this accounts for legally obtained firearms,
those obtained illegally far exceed these numbers. There is no way to establish how many firearms are illegally possessed. Banning guns in America
would only affect law abiding citizens. Criminals and those who want to acquire guns will go to any extent to get them either by stealing or through
the black market. Legally abiding American citizens should have the right to own a gun in order to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their
property. Banning gun ownership hurts those who obey laws and have no effect on the criminals. Responsible citizens are willing to take all the
necessary steps in order to purchase a firearm. The first step is age requirement: 18 years of age to purchase a rifle or shotgun; 21 years of age for a
handgun. All states enforce a criminal background check. This requires a 2 week wait before obtaining the gun. To carry a firearm on your person,
you must successfully complete a gun safety course in order to receive a concealed weapons permit. Even with a permit, there are certain areas where
guns are prohibited including but not limited to: federal facilities, schools and National Parks (unless otherwise specifically permitted) (United States

violates our human rights and individual freedom. There is a saying "An unjust law is no law at all."(Augustine of Hippo) If a legislative body of a
nation passes a law that is unfair for every citizen, it will still simply be like no law at all.
Imposing a law that forces citizens to vote is not a suitable way to promote democratic practices. We may need to see why people vote. Normally,
there are three main reasons why people vote. (1) An instrumental reason, that is to affect the outcome, (2) An expressive reason, that is, is to be
able to express one's views (3) a social norm reason, that is, to conform to a norm saying that it is a democratic obligation to vote (Carlsson, 2010).
There is no need to say for the first point that we vote because we want some positive outcomes. The second point was also discussed in the previous
paragraph that it is about expressing one's view. Thus, we have to observe the social norm reason, the third point. A survey conducted in Sweden in
2002 showed that 80% of the people, who were asked to answer the questionnaires, considered abstaining from voting unethical in a democratic
country. It can be said that voting should be a duty for all citizens of a

Should Cities Offer Free Public Wifi To Their Citizens?
What if cities offered free public wifi to their citizens? Many people like cable to watch television. Some people like to watch Netflix. Other people
like the idea of having free public wifi. Free wifi could give the opportunity to watch television or Netflix with the cities free wifi. Because jobs,
schools, and families depend on having wifi, it should be available for free to the public. Some people in school do not have wifi at home and if they
need it for school or work that can affect their grade. Students need wifi to do their homework for school, whether it is for college or grade school.
For example, it would be difficult to do an online homework assignment without having wifi at home. If cities offered free wifi students could do ...

People go on vacation all over the world weather it is to Jamaica or to Canada and they would want wifi for many different reasons. For example,
they would want wifi to keep in touch with people back at home, or to share things on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Some places people stay at
do not have good wifi or wifi at all and most people would want to stay at a place with free wifi. If they had to go to another state or city for work
they would most likely want to stay somewhere where they have wifi. If the place they were staying at did not have wifi then they would most
likely go out of business because lots of people want to stay somewhere with wifi. Even if they are just going to another city in the state for the
weekend some people want to take pictures and share them on social media for others to see. If they go on vacation they would want to keep up
with everyone else and what they are doing back at home. Many people would love to stay at a resort with free wifi. Cities should offer free wifi so
everyone can enjoy their stay and enjoy the free wifi for vacations, work, school or even just for fun and to keep in touch with everyone else.
Because there are so many families, jobs, and schools that rely on wifi, it should be available for free to the citizens. It would be difficult for people
who work and students who need wifi because they

Should American Citizens Have The Right To Own A Gun?
In an Americans everyday life, they have the right to enjoy freedom; however, some individuals are working to destroy the rights they enjoy. Americans
want safety and security in their lives. The Constitution of the United States has given each and every citizen the right to defend themselves with a
firearm. Unfortunately, evil exists all around this world; there are those who say that there needs to be less guns and more restriction for civilians. On
the other side, some believe good people have the inalienable right to protect themselves from the malevolent who live in this nation. As an American
Citizen, I believe it is a Constitutional Right for American to own firearms to defend themselves.
One reason American Citizens should own a gun without complications is because they have the right to defend themselves. Although, the majority
of America is a safe, there are still evil acts of crime and terror that arise. For example, in 2009 an incident occurred in Atlanta Georgia where a
group of college kids were enjoying a party and were violently interrupted by two trespassers, Calvin Lavant and James Hill. Lavant and Hill used
their firearm to threaten the people to get on the floor. After robbing some people of their possessions they commanded the... Show more content on

Violence is all over the world, all people want to be safe. They look for someone or something to protect them, in this case they wish for gun control.
Most liberal United State Politicians wish to put heavy restrictions on specific firearms hoping that will end the problem. For example, on December
15, 2015 one hundred and twenty–three democrats of the House of Representatives proposed a H.R. 4269 Assault weapons ban. This bill failed

Should America Be An All-Born Citizen Essay
Should the United States of America be an All–American born country? Should all citizens be born citizens? These are the questions we have been
asking ourselves for centuries here in the States. Whether we agree with the illegal immigrants coming into this country or not, it will always be an
issue. It is unquestionable that we the people need expand our thoughts and prepare a plan for America and these new coming and already here
immigrants. America should allow non criminal immigrants to have the opportunity to become citizens.
These "aliens" increase crime rates in the US. Many people argue this without knowing the actual statistics on the claim. Immigrants have lower crime
rates than native–born and natural–born citizens. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As of now America has employed a tremendous amount of undocumented immigrants, over 8.4 million. These immigrants make up only 3.7 percent of
the US population, but yet represent 5.2 percent in the US labor force. Also the agricultural workforce is dependent of these undocumented immigrants.
Studies have shown that at least 6 out of 10 farm workers are undocumented. A recent survey shows that 78 percent of the agricultural workers are
foreign–born and in order to get here, had to cross a border.
Why deport "aliens" if it's cost is high and they can improve the economy by staying in the states. Recent studies prove my statement. The United States
spends more on deportation and border patrol than annual gross domestic product of 80 countries. As of now the United States spends $3.5 billion
more on border enforcement than they spend on law enforcement in their country. This comes down to $18 billion each year. If all undocumented
immigrants were to be deported or chose "self–deportation" the US's GDP would get a massive hit with a loss of $2.6 trillion. If America decides to
remove all the immigrant it would cost a breathtaking amount of $285 billion, If I place a perspective on it that is more understandable, that money
could be used to hire one million new teachers and pay them for five total years, it's

Citizens Should NOT Be Allowed To Carry A Gun
There is many things that can be done to reduce the number of mass shootings. One thing that they could do is limited who can own a gun. Law
enforcement should only be allowed to carry a gun while on duty. Citizens shouldn't be allowed to carry a gun. The only time citizens should be
allowed to have a gun is while hunting. The government should have places set up by hunting areas for people to rent guns. Also, I think that everyone
should get screened every five years for mental illnesses. If someone is diagnosed with a mental illness, they should be treated immediately. They
should be put on medication and undergo therapy. I don't think that mass shootings should be broadcast on television. These broadcast make disturbed
people encouraged

Should Citizenship Be Naturalized Citizens?
Citizenship has been defined as the relationship between the state and individuals. Historically, citizenship has always been inevitably linked with the
state formation. Originally, citizenship was established one's residency and the people were protected within the walls of their city. Thus, whoever
belonged to a community residing within the boundaries was considered a citizen. Citizenship has now acquired different meanings and standards have
changed. Due to these changes, the interest in citizenship is at an all–time high. Politicians of all backgrounds are stressing its importance, as do
church leaders, large corporations, and a variety of campaigning groups; from those supporting global concerns, such as eliminating world poverty, to
others with a more local focus, such as stopping neighborhood crime. Governments throughout the world have been encouraging the teachings of
citizenship within schools, community organizations, and even introduced a citizenship test for immigrants who are seeking to become naturalized
citizens. Whatever the situation may be; the decline in voting, increase number of crimes, or even climate chance, in some shape or form citizenship as
taken a position of being part of the solution. Historically, citizenship has been associated with the privileges given to a particular member that is
involved within a political party or community. Those particular members who held certain statues were able to participate with their fellow citizens in

United States Citizens Should NOT Acquire Community Service
How many people do you know that volunteer? How many are forced to do it? United States citizens shouldn't be required to serve one year of
community service between the ages of 18 and 30. By forcing people to volunteer they won't do it out of kindness, the United States will have a
deeper debt, and there is no way to keep track.
"In 2009, 63.4 million Americans volunteered by choice" (The Heart of Service). If the United States forces people to volunteer they will have a
mindset that they have to be there so they'll only do it half way. By forcing community service people might not want to come back and do it again
because their first experiance wasn't a good one.
Making citizens volunteer will take them away from jobs that pay. So the United

Should Illegal Immigrants Become US Citizens

November 9, 2016 Should illegal Mexican immigrants be given an opportunity to become U.S. citizens
Illegal immigration has been a problem and most controversial issue for the United States for a long time. Thousands of illegal immigrants have entered
the U.S. through either the Mexican border, or through many other ways. Some Mexicans have come into the U.S. through a tourist visa, but then have
over stayed and are working in various places. But what's wrong if the U.S. government grant amnesty to those immigrants whose only crime is their
immigration status? Amnesty, indeed, is not only the best solution to immigration problem of the U.S., it is the only feasible solution. There are
several reasons for giving an opportunity to illegal Mexican immigrants to become U.S. citizens. First, the U.S. economy is highly dependent on illegal
immigrants. For all the eloquence about illegal immigrants stealing jobs, illegal immigration provides benefits to the national economy. Their
importance was highlighted in a report by Texas Comptroller Susan Combs, who states, "Without the undocumented population, Texas' work force
would decrease by 6.3 percent and Texas' gross state ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the latest estimates, there are 11 million illegal immigrants in America, and out of 11 million, 6.8 million are employed. If the government
of the United States decides to evacuate them from the country all at once, it would leave thousands of jobs empty as there would not be enough
legal employees to take over and fill those empty spaces. Also, it is extremely difficult to deport 11 million people. Even attempting to do so, indeed,
would require a massive amount of money which would be in between $400 and $600 billion (thinkprogress.org). So, instead of spending that much
money for deportation, we can utilize these people in different professions to earn that

Why Should The Citizen Should Not Be Allowed In The Military
In the United States, we have the freedom of speech, but sometimes we do not make the best decisions. Saying no to an armed force is not a good
decision and I believe that it is not fair. Backing out when your country needs you the most does not show good citizenship. You should be willing to
protect your country at all times. If the military needs you then you should show pride in the United States of America, your home, and help protect it
and all its glory, and of course, help make it a better place. Refusing to serve the armed forces should not even be allowed because the citizen already
took the oath, and they are healthy enough to serve.
The first reason as to why it should not be allowed is because they took an oath. Once a citizen pledges into a military service they can not just leave
when their help is needed. Once they said that pledge of allegiance to serve, protect, and fight for their country it is required for them to fulfill their
duties and do what the armed forces are asking you to do. Leaving without permission and failure to report for duty can lead to charges. It shoes on

But they must realize this; the government provides those in the armed forces with special benefits, a great retirement, health care, etc. with the
programs that they have they will be able to easily provide for their family's needs. If they are worried about missing out on school, when you enlist

Should Immigrants Be Legal Citizens Essay
The political battle over immigration has been going on for a long time. Should immigrants be legal citizens of the U.S.? The U.S. should provide a
way for illegal immigrants to come into the country legally and become legal citizens because it could increase the job opportunity, It helps the GDP
which helps the economy, and it provides immigrants and opportunity for them and their family to have a better life. If the U.S. were to let illegal
immigrants become legal citizens it would increase job opportunity for both immigrants and Americans. In the PBS interview, Robert Lynch states,
"Once they become legalized, that the formerly undocumented can now get access to permits and licenses and credits, and they start
businesses."(Lynch3).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a study, The Center for American Progress found, "Naturalized workers earn higher wages, consume more goods and services, and pay more taxes,
which in turn creates economic growth. If the undocumented immigrants in our nation were granted legal status today and citizenship in five years, the
10–year cumulative increase in U.S. gross domestic product, or GDP, would be $1.1 trillion"(CAP 8). Over time, the amount of work immigrants put
in and the price at which they work for would leave extra money. As this extra money cumulates it in turns leaves a lot of money that goes to the GDP.
In an interview with Robert lynch from The Center for American Progress, he stated that " a left–leaning think tank , estimates that legalizing the
undocumented could boost the country's gross domestic product anywhere from $832 billion dollars to $1.4 trillion dollars"(Lynch1).If this money
were to come out from letting immigrants come legally into the U.S. it would give more money for buyers to use and sellers a bigger profit from
what they were to get out of it. This extra money from which The U.S. gets out of these situations would go back into their government increasing their

Should The Citizens Obey The State Law?
In the twenty century, the U.S society was in the period of tending to be a human base society. The laws in America were introduced to create a fair
and regulated society for its citizens. The First and Fourteenth Amendment of Constitution granted that the U.S citizens have the freedom of speech.
And the New York State had its law of Criminal Anarchy Act since 1902 for "organized government should be overthrown by force or violence, or by
assassination of the executive head or of any of the executive officials of government, or by any unlawful means (n.p)." The citizen in the any state of
the U.S should always both obey the state law and follow the national constitution. Otherwise, the citizen would get corresponding punishment for jail,

The United States Supreme Court considers about the national interest to judge the guilt of Gitlow's behavior. First of all, the First Amendment of
Constitution about the citizen's freedom of speech is not complete. It does specify the treatment to some special situations. In the "Ayn Rand Column",
it records Ayn's understanding go the freedom of speech mentioned in the Fist Amendment of Constitution. Freedom of speech includes the freedom not
to agree, not to listen and not to support one's own antagonists. A "right" does not include the material implementation of that right by other men; it
includes only the freedom to earn that implementation by one's own effort (n.p). As a citizen of America, Gitlow has the rights to express his opinions
in politics, but his speeches were clearly harmful for the harmony of the whole society. Moreover, his speeches were unlawful in the state laws of New
York. Citizens' rights and their responsibilities should be balanced. While the government grants citizens with the rights of free speech, individuals
should also control their speech in a certain limited way. Citizens should not do anything that violates other citizens' rights, or even cause danger to the
whole society because the entire citizens have the equal rights to be protected. Benjamin Gitlow's speeches of anti–government conflicted with the law
in New York State. The state government would able to supervise

Should Immigrants Be An American Citizen?
Should immigrants have a pathway to American citizenship? Of course, all immigrants should be granted a pathway to becoming an American citizen
because Americans are all immigrants to this country. Thirty percent of the small businesses started in America are started by these immigrants who
come in search of a higher quality life. When they start these businesses they are providing jobs for American workers, which will boost our economy.
Also, various immigrants have developed cutting–edge technologies along with companies such as Google, eBay, Yahoo, and Intel. The majority of
these immigrants indulge themselves in our local markets, which boost the demand for these local goods. Several of these immigrants are also hard
workers requiring little pay; for instance, if they are picking blueberries they may be paid five dollars for a three gallon bucket of blueberries. Also,
immigrants are only on welfare because they give up everything to come to America. If granted an easier pathway to citizenship, they could be taken
off of welfare, which would benefit America in the long run. Immigrants should be allowed an easier pathway to citizenship to be taken off of welfare,
add to the consumption of local goods, and boost the economy. Whether immigrants offer economic growth or not has imposed many questions
throughout the years. Truth is they are providing economic growth, both the low–skilled and high–skilled immigrants. Immigrants of low–skill provide
a lot of laborers; they

Non Citizens Should Have The Right For Vote
Non–Citizens Should Have the Right to Vote
Tayler Gill
Ryerson University
Joerg Wittenbrinck Non–Citizens should have the right to vote
According to Elections Canada (2011), the right to vote is a major equitable right that is ensured by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It is
the foundation of democracy. When we vote, we pick the representatives who will make the laws and strategies that represent how we live together.
The authenticity of an administration lies in the way that it is chosen. Low voter turnouts may call into inquiry the legitimacy of authority. While
democracy includes a great deal holding elections every five years, voting is an effective approach to make an impression on governments and
legislators. The more votes, the more compelling the message is. Ultimately, each vote counts. To vote in Canada at any level of government, you
must be a Canadian citizen. ("Why Should I Vote", 2011) As a result, masses of adults who reside in Canada are denied the right to vote because they
are not Canadian citizens. There is no question that the status of citizenship has been contested since the migration trend in Canada soared the past 20
years. (Siemiatycki, 2011) These residents work, pay local taxes, use city services, send their children to school but cannot vote. (Munro, 2008) Giving
non–citizens voting rights would give permanent residents an opportunity to participate in decisions made on local services and issues, fostering a

Drones Should Not Be Allowed To Spy On US Citizens
The advancing technologies of today have created a vast number of opportunities to change the way of life for the human race. There has been quite a
bit of speculation over the government using drones to spy on US civilians. One issue with this policy is that it violates the ninth amendment which is
the right to privacy. With drones spying on citizens what privacy is there? The problems and complications with the government using drones for that
soul purpose consist of privacy being violated, air traffic being interrupted and drones will also have to be paid for from taxes,so in hindsight the
people are paying to be spied on. The government should not have the right to spy on citizens using drone technology because of broken rights.

The drones are also safety hazards if they do happen to malfunction and not work properly. If they are flying around as casually as a car driving on
the street they could fall out of the sky. Also the need for patrol cars would be eliminated but a weaponless drone could not arrest someone properly
or at all. The drones mean well but are just doing a disservice if these problems are not all addressed and dealt with. Many states have proposed drone
regulations and many states have adopted them.
In conclusion surveillance drones have much work and a long way to go before they are approved by every citizen. The main issue on the majority
of people's minds is that of privacy. If there was a way to use the drones for surveillance but also not disturb anyone's privacy there would be not
much of an issue to worry about. As of now surveillance drones are a negative impact on society and should not be used or at least be used less
frequently. These drones are a way of the future, but not everyone has adapted yet; until that happens say no to

Should Non Citizens Have Constitutional Rights

  • 1. Should Non Citizens Have Constitutional Rights Should Non Citizens Have the Constitutional Rights The U.S. has always been a "melting pot". People from all over the world come to the U.S. Under U.S. law, both legal and illegal immigrants have enjoyed almost all of the same constitutional rights. There are only few rights that only the citizens have, such as the right to vote and the right to run for federal elections. Those exceptions are listed in the Constitution. Non–citizens should have the same constitutional rights as the U.S. citizens. If the non–citizens do enjoy the same constitutional rights with other U.S. citizens, then the Arizona Immigration Law clearly was unconstitutional. Some people might argue that illegal immigrants should not have any constitutional rights. There's... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The law requires law enforcement officials to detain anyone whom they reasonably suspect of being an illegal immigrant. Glenn Greenwald was a columnist for Salon. He worked as a constitutional and civil rights litigator. Greenwald writes, "If a foreign national is arrested and accused by the U.S. Gov't of committing a crime, does anyone believe they can be sentenced to prison without a jury trial, denied the right...would necessarily have to claim that the U.S. Government could do all of that to foreign nationals." The U.S. should give equal rights to everyone. Since the Constitution specifically uses the word "person" instead of citizens, then non–citizens should also enjoy the equal rights. If they do then the Arizona Immigration Law was unconstitutional. The law violated the Fourth amendment, protection against 'unreasonable search and seizure'. The police stopped and questioned people only because they look like Mexicans. They did not have a 'probable cause' and that was clearly a violation of the Constitution. The law also violates the Fourteenth amendment, which says that no state can "deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the law." Under the new State law, Arizona is not giving immigrants or Mexicans equal rights or protection, when the law enforcement officials can question and detain any suspects without ... • 2. Explain Why The Government Should Provide To Citizens In order to determine what goods and services the government should provide to its citizens, it is important to understand the reason why the government, whether it is federal, state or local play a significant role in providing goods and services to its citizens. After conducting my research, the primary reason is that it is economically feasible and cost–effective for the government to provide these goods and services to ensure that all citizens are fairly receiving the basic needs for survival. In the United States of America, the government is responsible for protecting and serving all citizens; therefore, the goods or services provided to all citizens are non–rivalrous and non–excludable. According to our textbook, goods and services ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, our National Defense and National Parks are two good examples of non–rivalrous and non–excludable goods and services. Therefore, the government is in a position to ensure that every citizen reaps the benefits, preventing the deprivation of use due to the inability to pay and other discriminatory factors in our society. Nevertheless, the true reality is that certain goods or services value is greater than one person can afford; therefore, our collective tax payments allow the government to pay these goods and services on our behalf, not burdening one individual citizen to pay the full amount. We must keep in mind that non–rivalrous and non–excludable goods and services are essential in building strong, healthy communities while strengthening our economic survival. Although it is important for the state government to provide non–rivalrous and non–excludable goods and services that educate our children, repair roads and bridges, provide healthcare, and serve and protect our communities, the inequality of the distribution demeans and oppresses the citizens residing in disadvantaged communities. For instance, although disadvantaged families receive these goods and services, the level of quality are not equal to the middle class or wealthier ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Purpose of the Declaration of Independence Rights of the People A democracy is a system of government controlled by the people, not by one certain group or individual. In the Declaration of Independence it states that "all men are created equal," an idea which leads to the concept that all citizens should have the same rights, responsibilities, and influence in the governing of their country. In writing the Declaration of Independence Thomas Jefferson was trying to break his ties with the harsh and non–democratic rule of the British and begin a new, equal society and government for America. Democracy is defined as "A system of government in which ultimate political authority is vested in the People." The Declaration's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He believed that it was time for America to break away from Britain's rule and become its own nation, which could govern itself. To do this, though, it was necessary to write some sort of document which would state to the world the basic beliefs on which the nation's new government would be built. This document was the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson felt that Britain was doing nothing but hurting America with unfair rules and all sorts of ridiculous taxes. The colonies and colonists had no rights in determining the very laws which dictated the way they led their lives. The Declaration of Independence was a formal document stating that the people of America were breaking away from Britain and that the American colonies were now "Free and Independent States." The Declaration of Independence was the cornerstone of American freedom and equality. By writing this document, the American Colonies could now begin the process of starting a new way of life and a new government. Obviously, at the time the Declaration of Independence was written the concept of "equality" was more limited than it is today. Certainly, all members of colonial America did not share equal status. However the concepts of the Declaration of Independence have evolved more fully over the centuries ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. American Citizens Should Vote Research Paper The American citizens should vote because if they want to see a change that will benefit them as a citizen of the country, it is mandatory for them to partake in the elections in order for the changes to be made. "An argument against compulsory voting is that it is inconsistent with the freedom associated with Democracy" . However , the true meaning associated with Democracy is that it is a system of government in which a power vests in the people. Through this way , the American citizens voices will be heard. According to (text 1 lines 25–30) "Ideally, a democracy will take into account the interests and views of all the citizens. • 5. Should Illegal Immigrants Be Citizens The U.S. immigrant population stood at more than 42.4 million (13.3 percent) of the total U.S. population of 318.9 million in 2014, according to American Community Service (ACS) data. Clearly our nation needs an inclusive immigration plan. Since the number of immigrants is increasing drastically, granting immigrants U.S. citizenship will benefit the nation drastically in many ways. If the U.S. Congress understood the reasons why illegal immigrants should be citizens, then he would grant amnesty to the dreamers. The current policy for granting amnesty is restricting illegal immigrants from getting amnesty in the United States. Amnesty is an official pardon for people who have been convicted of political offense. To begin with, the article ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. All Citizens Should Not Be Required By Law Fletcher 1 Evyn Fletcher VanNostrand Eng. 1301 11/08/15 All Citizens Should Not Be Required by Law to Vote Freedom is defined as the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. As citizens of the Unites States of America we are granted the right of freedom, speaking our mind, and casting our opinion as we please. With these rights is the right to vote if we choose to do so. All citizens should not be required by law to vote because it would be taking away our freedom and adding to the percentage of uneducated voters. If we are forced by law to vote then our freedom and rights are being taken away from us. Votingis our opportunity to express our opinion when we choose to. There are amendments in the constitution that are put in place to grant us the freedom to vote if we want to. In The US Constitution stated in Amendment XV, which was ratified by the states in 1870it says: Section 1–" The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude. The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex." This also shows that if someone comes up to you with a gun or is breaking in and you don't have a gun you can't protect yourself as much as you could have. If you do not have a weapon than you are as unprotected as a defenseless duckling. In addition, they can stop people from doing dangerous things to themselves and others. • 8. Should There Be More Eligible Citizens To Vote The United States, in my personal opinion would most definitely be better in all aspects. The more people that participate in political processing, the more chances of us coming together and picking what is better for our government. I will be explaining to you why I think it will be better if more eligible citizens participated in the political process, and start voicing there opinions and joining political campaigns. They're plenty of ways that us eligible citizens come together to help better our own selves. First off, I am going to let you in on why it is not a good thing if most eligible citizens do not participate. Lets say if there is 200 people but only 150 vote, we will only be getting opinions from three–fourth of the said to be population, therefore one–fourth of the people had the opportunity to vote. However, They chose not to or were not educated enough to know where and how to vote for the right person. • 9. Citizens Should Not Pay For Healthcare Citizens Should Not Pay For Health Care One of the foundations of every just society is the protection of every person's right to healthcare. This statement underscores the importance of the discourse on whether working citizens ought to pay for healthcare. The debate has been in the limelight since the beginning of the 20th century. Successive governments in the United States have over the years attempted to institute a universal healthcare system for the United States citizenry, but repeatedly the proposals for a free healthcare system in the country has been fought and defeated. In light of this information, this paper seeks to answer the question on why the working citizens in the United States should not pay for healthcare. The paper draws statistical and empirical information in support of this thesis, as well as information that those opposed to the idea put forward. In essence, therefore, this argumentative paper seeks to discredit some of the ideas that the naysayers put forward in their opposition to the idea of a free healthcare system in the United States while at the same time providing solid arguments on why working citizens should not pay for healthcare. The debate about whether or not the government should pay for healthcare begins earnestly with the understanding of the constitution. Particularly, the constitution provides for the inalienable rights to liberty, happiness, and life. Healthcare provision falls squarely under the right to life and the ... • 10. Should The Correctional Be Reformed Into Law Abiding... Most individuals believe criminals are transmitted to prison to be reformed into law–abiding citizens. Typically, we focus on the crimes committed and neglect the fact that they are humans that made an error; people who require guidance. The correctional system's original purpose is retribution, incapacitation, deterrence, and rehabilitation. While the correctional system was created with the right intentions, it has caused negative psychological impacts. Research has shown that a majority of criminals are deteriorating. The correctional facility not only affects criminals, but guards as well. Police guards have one of the highest mental health rates. Overall, since this is an issue that affects a variety of people, a possible solution to this could be to get them professional psychological assistance, improve overcrowding issues or getting their families involved. Federal prisons are supposed to be solving problems, not creating them. Bureau of Justice Statistics, Department of Justice, stated that out of the 44.8% of federal prisoners that had mental illness only 4.8% had a history of mental disorders. This demonstrates that the majority of prisoners did not experience any mental disorders before being admitted to prison. Prisoners go through traumatic situations in prisons that they have never witnessed, which can trigger and create these disorders. • 11. Should American Citizens Have Selfless Service Should citizens be required to serve their country for a two year term? The truth is some Americans are useless and are unfortunately procreating, consequently evolving this country into an unpatriotic and lazy mentality. Furthermore the current state of disunity amongst our citizens presents the US with a selfish individualistic image. This may only be a portion of this great country but it is undoubtedly becoming an endemic. All capable bodies should be eager to assist this country in a time of need. American citizens live a better life than they know it, and most are too blind or ignorant to see it. For instance, a Lion, Scorpion, or even a Tarantula. No, citizens should not be able to own exotic animals. I say this for many reasons, one of which is the simple fact that these animals are far to dangerous for any person who isn't a zoologist to care for. Exotic animals aren't domesticated, in other words, they are not tamed. That fact is what many people fail to realize. They may think "It'll be so cool to own a baby tiger." But what about when that baby tiger is no longer a baby? Not to mention that these animals are time consuming and extremely expensive. If you think vet trips for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Gun Control Laws Should Not The Safety Of The Citizens America is the number one country for number of gun related deaths ratio each year. "In Germany 381, in France 255, in Canada 165 in the United Kingdom 68, in Australia 65, in Japan 39 and in the United States, 11,127" (Moore Michael, 51:15–51:48). Due to the United States having the greatest number of gun related deaths, it is almost essential to implement gun–control laws that restrict people from purchasing and owning dangerous firearms. The laws that are created to control the guns should ultimately keep the safety of the citizens first. Of course, there is no easy way or solution to please both sides of the argument, but there should be a balance between both sides. In 2008 a survey was conducted stating: "Adult poll respondents' ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the 1900s America like other counties during that time considered guns a tool used to survive and protect. "As Americans civilized the wilderness, they would eventually be able to rely not just on their own skills at individual self–defense for protection, but on laws and civil authorities and the other institutions of government they were building " ( Whitney, Pg. 103). In the early 1900s The United States did not have the modern civil authorities that are used today. Citizens relied on firearms to protect not only themselves but their family, and property because law enforcement was basic and simple. What was deemed acceptable then is not now in America and that is why the Second Amendment was ideal in the 1900s. Firearms of military grade that have the ability to shoot 700–950 rounds/min, like the M16, did not exist. Firearms during that time did not come close the capability of modern weapons that are available today and that is one of the reasons why gun control was not a pressing issue. The need for Gun control became necessary throughout history as technology advanced and different types of firearms emerged that were more powerful and deadly. • 14. Military Service Should Be Mandatory For All American... Mandatory Military Service Military service should be mandatory for all American citizens. In lighter terms we could refer to it as the All American Selective Service Act, which will require all Americans to register for Selective Service as equal partners in the defense of America (Rangel). The average person, at one point or another, considers what they are going to do with their lives. The military has something to offer everyone. Deciding what to do with your life can be filled with uncertainty and procrastination. Selective service offers invaluable experiences, improves character, teach much needed skills and increase patriotism or appreciation for freedom. Due to recent increase in riots regarding black lives matter and our new president elect it demonstrates that the average American citizens needs to experience the entire aspect of how America operates. It would be helpful for citizens to see another side of life instead of what they have been subjected to possibly their entire life. Some may say that Selective service violates our freedom, destroys voluntarism and diverts youth from college education or career pursuit but destroying our America by violent demonstrations and turning on one another should not be the American way (NYLN). So maybe by having the enriched military experience it will bring the American people together for a common goal which is to make American great. Where you come from or who you're raised by can help determine your identity in society. There are many other things that can help influence your identity, but your family's background is one of the main ways and this is evident In "Public and Private Language" by Richard Rodriquez. Depending on what background you're from your identity will automatically be determined. There are many different factors in this idea that play a vital part however. For example if you come from an Asian backgroundpeople will automatically identify you as a math wizard or if you are from a Latino background that you should automatically understand Spanish. This is basically the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand if no one went to college in your family you will be identified as an individual that will most likely not go to college due to the fact no one in your household went. Of course there are situations in which this theory is proven not true but unfortunately this is what you will be identified as. Aperson's identity may be determined by him/her family background and this is proven evident in the essay "Private and Public Language" by Rodriguez. We live in a world in which identities are determined prematurely without hesitation. This means that even without getting to know an individuals personality the first thing that is done instead is determining identities based on your physical state, family, or family background. As a culture we live in a diverse environment in which the majority of people come from a different place, and as a result many are identified differently depending on where he/she and their family are from. Evidence from Thahhau Lai's novel, Inside Out and Back Again, and Min Zhou's article, Straddling Different Worlds, Americans must be nice to refugees and treat them how they want to be treated. They are being bullied by US citizens. When they come into our country they can't choose where to live. They were affected mentally and might have emotional trauma. I think citizens of the US should be nice to refugees. One reason there mistreated is there being bullied. There being bullied just because they're not from the US. As times changed other groups got the chance to vote and participate in choosing our leader which is in fact a big deal. In my personal opinion I don't think we should be required to vote because no matter what it is us as U.S. citizen should always have a choice. • 18. Undocumented Immigrants Should Not Be A Citizen Of The... Who deserves to be a citizen of the United States (U.S.)? The founders of The United States of America believed people who immigrated and spent years building lives in this country deserved citizenship. They were also keenly aware that making new immigrants wait for citizenship while denying them the very rights that Americans had just fought to claim for themselves would be detrimental to our relatively new and fragile country. Today, it's a question President Barack Obama and Congress have been trying to answer. As the President and lawmakers, alike, negotiate the contours of an immigration reform bill, they should keep in mind that the granting of legal status to undocumented immigrants would be a boon for the United States' economy. Moreover, allowing undocumented immigrants to become U.S. citizens would be equally beneficial to America. Legal status and citizenship enable undocumented immigrants to produce and earn significantly more than they do when they are on the economic sidelines. The resulting productivity and wage gains ripple through the economy because immigrants are not just workers, but they are also consumers and taxpayers. Once illegal immigrants are granted citizenship, the newly welcomed citizens can begin to spend their increased earnings on goods and services that will stimulate demand in the United States' economy, which will, ultimately, help create jobs and expand the economy as well. • 19. Illegal Immigrants Should Be Legal Citizens Im–mi–gra–tion "The action of coming to live permanently in a foreign country." Immigration has been an issue in the US for ages. Many feel the need to blame these people for how our economy is, but I disagree. These people should be given the chance to legally live in the US. Although they did enter illegally, they work harder than most legal citizens. They want a better future and we should allow them to have it. That is why I believe strongly in letting them become legal citizens of the US. I believe that illegal immigrants should be given the chance to be here legally. Many families are torn apart because of deportation. Some mothers have been forced to leave their kids alone here. This could end up with the kids in the foster system if they have no family here. I've heard many stories of how hard it is for people to cross the border. All they want is a better future. That is what America was built on. Immigrants coming here and looking for a better future. So why should we not help those who want a better future? In stories that I have heard, the husband is the first one to cross the border. He will find a job and send the money to his family back home. After he has a stable job in the US, his wife will then cross the border too. Sometimes they will bring their kids with them, and other times the kids are left behind as crossing the border is not easy. Many families will keep sending money back to their parents in order to help them. When you turn the TV on immigration ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why Athena Should Not Be A Citizen For years, Athens and her empire thrived under Pericles; therefore it is only logical that if Athens were to return to similar power, they should follow similar teachings. There are countless reasons why this was in the people's best interest for only pure Athenians to be citizens of Athens. Most notably, for the following: the teachings of Pericles allowed the city to come together as one and create a singular united front for the world to see and respect built from their strong sense of identity post Peloponnesian War. Additionally, it was not possible that those who were not of pure Athenian blood to have had the same level of commitment to her great empire as pure blooded Athenians did. The basis of this argument was that Naera could not be a citizen because she was not born of Athenian parents and did not deserve the rights of an individual who is, to include passing her citizenship down to her children. The manipulation on behalf of Naera and the fact that this became a trial more than a century after Pericles's citizenship law in 451 BCE, not only exemplifies, but gives validity and justification to the pride Athenians felt in being Athenian and the consequent disdain and distrust for any outsider. That led to all outsiders rightfully being refused citizenship because individuals may not be trusted to hold a lands best interest at heart if the very basis of their presence in the land is based on ... • 22. Should American Citizens Be Required To Vote Essay Whether or not American citizens should be regulated in national elections. Is a controversial issue. There is a debate if american elections should be a voluntary thing or should be forced. One side of the argument is that requiring citizens to vote will result in a stronger democracy. However Americans should not be regulated to vote because it is a violation of their constitutional right, and forcing voters will result in inaccurate election outcome. American citizens should not be entitled or required to vote, because it goes against the first amendment which is the right to not speak, and choose our own choices, for example in text 4 line 11 it states "Democracy is about freedom", In other words those who live in a democratic nation such as the united states should have the right to withhold their vote or opinion on the election. This reveals that the requirements of the American citizens to vote is highly unconstitutional. This is significant because the united states was built upon the right to free speech and freedom to not have an opinion, and forcing its people to vote is not only unconstitutional but goes against what this country is founded upon. ... • 24. Should Gun Ownership Be A Right For All Citizens? Should gun ownership be a right for all citizens? Of the approximate 875 million firearms legally owned in the world, American citizens own one quarter of these. Our second amendment, "the right to bear arms", establishes this right for us. While this accounts for legally obtained firearms, those obtained illegally far exceed these numbers. There is no way to establish how many firearms are illegally possessed. Banning guns in America would only affect law abiding citizens. Criminals and those who want to acquire guns will go to any extent to get them either by stealing or through the black market. Legally abiding American citizens should have the right to own a gun in order to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their property. Banning gun ownership hurts those who obey laws and have no effect on the criminals. Responsible citizens are willing to take all the necessary steps in order to purchase a firearm. The first step is age requirement: 18 years of age to purchase a rifle or shotgun; 21 years of age for a handgun. All states enforce a criminal background check. This requires a 2 week wait before obtaining the gun. To carry a firearm on your person, you must successfully complete a gun safety course in order to receive a concealed weapons permit. Even with a permit, there are certain areas where guns are prohibited including but not limited to: federal facilities, schools and National Parks (unless otherwise specifically permitted) (United States Gun facts, ... For this reason, if citizens are forced to vote by law, it must be an unjust law that violates our human rights and individual freedom. There is a saying "An unjust law is no law at all."(Augustine of Hippo) If a legislative body of a nation passes a law that is unfair for every citizen, it will still simply be like no law at all. Imposing a law that forces citizens to vote is not a suitable way to promote democratic practices. We may need to see why people vote. Normally, there are three main reasons why people vote. (1) An instrumental reason, that is to affect the outcome, (2) An expressive reason, that is, is to be able to express one's views (3) a social norm reason, that is, to conform to a norm saying that it is a democratic obligation to vote (Carlsson, 2010). There is no need to say for the first point that we vote because we want some positive outcomes. The second point was also discussed in the previous paragraph that it is about expressing one's view. Thus, we have to observe the social norm reason, the third point. In an Americans everyday life, they have the right to enjoy freedom; however, some individuals are working to destroy the rights they enjoy. Americans want safety and security in their lives. The Constitution of the United States has given each and every citizen the right to defend themselves with a firearm. Unfortunately, evil exists all around this world; there are those who say that there needs to be less guns and more restriction for civilians. On the other side, some believe good people have the inalienable right to protect themselves from the malevolent who live in this nation. As an American Citizen, I believe it is a Constitutional Right for American to own firearms to defend themselves. One reason American Citizens should own a gun without complications is because they have the right to defend themselves. Although, the majority of America is a safe, there are still evil acts of crime and terror that arise. For example, in 2009 an incident occurred in Atlanta Georgia where a group of college kids were enjoying a party and were violently interrupted by two trespassers, Calvin Lavant and James Hill. Historically, citizenship has always been inevitably linked with the state formation. Originally, citizenship was established one's residency and the people were protected within the walls of their city. Thus, whoever belonged to a community residing within the boundaries was considered a citizen. Citizenship has now acquired different meanings and standards have changed. Due to these changes, the interest in citizenship is at an all–time high. Politicians of all backgrounds are stressing its importance, as do church leaders, large corporations, and a variety of campaigning groups; from those supporting global concerns, such as eliminating world poverty, to others with a more local focus, such as stopping neighborhood crime. Should Illegal Immigrants Become US Citizens Muhammad David Scurry ESOL 0360 November 9, 2016 Should illegal Mexican immigrants be given an opportunity to become U.S. citizens Illegal immigration has been a problem and most controversial issue for the United States for a long time. Thousands of illegal immigrants have entered the U.S. through either the Mexican border, or through many other ways. Saying no to an armed force is not a good decision and I believe that it is not fair. Backing out when your country needs you the most does not show good citizenship. You should be willing to protect your country at all times. If the military needs you then you should show pride in the United States of America, your home, and help protect it and all its glory, and of course, help make it a better place. Refusing to serve the armed forces should not even be allowed because the citizen already took the oath, and they are healthy enough to serve. The first reason as to why it should not be allowed is because they took an oath. Once a citizen pledges into a military service they can not just leave when their help is needed. Once they said that pledge of allegiance to serve, protect, and fight for their country it is required for them to fulfill their duties and do what the armed forces are asking you to do. Of course, all immigrants should be granted a pathway to becoming an American citizen because Americans are all immigrants to this country. Thirty percent of the small businesses started in America are started by these immigrants who come in search of a higher quality life. When they start these businesses they are providing jobs for American workers, which will boost our economy. Also, various immigrants have developed cutting–edge technologies along with companies such as Google, eBay, Yahoo, and Intel. The majority of these immigrants indulge themselves in our local markets, which boost the demand for these local goods. Several of these immigrants are also hard workers requiring little pay; for instance, if they are picking blueberries they may be paid five dollars for a three gallon bucket of blueberries. Also, immigrants are only on welfare because they give up everything to come to America. Non Citizens Should Have The Right For Vote Non–Citizens Should Have the Right to Vote Tayler Gill Ryerson University Joerg Wittenbrinck Non–Citizens should have the right to vote According to Elections Canada (2011), the right to vote is a major equitable right that is ensured by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It is the foundation of democracy. When we vote, we pick the representatives who will make the laws and strategies that represent how we live together. The authenticity of an administration lies in the way that it is chosen. Low voter turnouts may call into inquiry the legitimacy of authority. While democracy includes a great deal holding elections every five years, voting is an effective approach to make an impression on governments and legislators. The more votes, the more compelling the message is. Ultimately, each vote counts. To vote in Canada at any level of government, you must be a Canadian citizen. ("Why Should I Vote", 2011) As a result, masses of adults who reside in Canada are denied the right to vote because they are not Canadian citizens. There is no question that the status of citizenship has been contested since the migration trend in Canada soared the past 20 years.
