was established in 1999 under the provisions made available
by the National Aquaculture Development Authority Act
(No. 53 of 1998). It is the main state sponsored organization
mandated for the task of development of the aquaculture and

responsible for sustainable development and
management of aquaculture and inland fisheries to
ensure food security in order to improve the quality of
life of the people

Rearing of Fish
Feeding of reared species

26. Mature parent fish are injected with spawning inducing
agents
Without these agents Chinese/ Indian carp will not
spawn in ponds because the external ecological
conditions in the fish ponds cannot satisfy the
reproductive requirements of the brood fish
Fish are injected with extraneous hormones
* PG
* HCG
* LHRH - A
27. Select mature fish

There are some measuring instruments to count the
number of fish seeds while packing
They use average value to pack fish seeds and
transport them by vehicles
39. 10mL ( For P/L measuring )
15 mL – 1 tb spoon
60mL – ¼ cup

44. Transport facilities to Dambulla centre is vey lack, Labors
face difficulties about day by day transports. So it is necessary
to improve these facilities.
There is a hostel for trainees but it is with lack facilities so we
faced some difficulties too. So NAQDA must improve
facilities.
There is a public road within the centre’s land area. It caused
some problems about theft and damaging activities. So they
must remove that public road to outside of the center.
