Media Convergence Analysis
I thought Heidi A. Mckee had some really interesting material that I had not thought of before on the issue of ethical and legal issues surrounding the
convergence of media. As media in today's age is constantly changing, so in order to keep up with the ever–evolving media the ethical and legal laws
must also evolve with it. Before reading this essay by Mckee, I did not know about the legal and ethical implications of media convergence. So in
reading this it was very eye–opening to see all the issues associated media.
What really stuck out to me was the issues of ethical issues as a teacher who incorporated media into the lessons. As a future teacher, I never thought
of having to have students sign consent or release forms for their work if

The Credibility Of Media Analysis
In today's world, technology consumes the daily life of many citizens. With the availability of the media at our very fingertips, we have become loyal
to the media. Many people rely on the media for the news and important information going on in the world, when at one point you could only find this
in the daily newspaper that was dropped off at your door every morning. There is an issue with relying on the media for important information, and that
is because they manipulate us. They make us believe what they want and it's become almost a form of entertainment, similar to TMZ. Let's start off by
looking at CNN, which is popular for world news and politics. You would think that if they were covering these important topics, then they would be
reliable, but that is not the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A Syrian actor was used and effects were added into the video, in order to make it look realistic. The actor, Danny, was saw in the video footage
and asked to "get the gunfire sounds ready," before his video conference with Anderson Cooper. This goes to show that the media can manipulate
us from our own couches. Another recognizable name commonly releases information that they want us to read, which is TIME Magazine. If you
take a look at the cover of TIME Magazine in the US and those in other countries you will see that our country tends to always have a different
cover story, then everyone else. TIME is one of the biggest news magazines there is and they can reach and influence a lot of people in the United
States. It seems as if some of the covers are chosen for political reasons, but in the end it comes down to market research and wanting to increase
their sales. Now that could be a completely wrong assumption, but that is what the evidence leads to as well as censorship. Not only are we
manipulated by the TV news stations and magazines, but in the advertisements we see everywhere. This is a popular topic of anger because many
people are aware of the fact that companies tend

An Analysis Of The Media 's Bias
An Analysis of Bias in Media Bias by and within the media is subject to and motivated by a complex but predictable set of factors. These factors are
both meaningful and measurable. Bias within the media is oftentimes thought of as simple and straightforward but this is not the case. While no ethnic
group outright denies the existence of bias within major news outlets, whites feel it occurs less than blacks. Exceptions that conflict with this
sentiment do exist, of course. As David Niven stated in his 2005 paper, certain powerful individuals are capable of making targeted allegations of bias
that serve only to highlight a specific individual or socio–political entity's style of thinking – in this article instance, sports reporters were criticized by
Rush Limbaugh for having more sympathy for black quarterbacks when they performed well. However, in cases like this one, the remark can be
depicted as purely for publicity's sake rather than reporting. Blacks on the other hand have demonstrated a consistent level of doubt relating to the
credibility of major news coverage, but with a drawback. As Beaudoin & Thorson state in the 2005 paper, coverage of Blacks and black issues is
viewed less favorably when presented with non–black or low–black sources. Blacks and black issues presented by or with a black source are viewed
considerably more favorable. This topic of bias is in a near constant state of flux. As ratios and relationships of and between different ethnic

The Information Age in which we live is so called because of the generally easy access to the endlessly expanding network of knowledge that is the
Internet, which so much of the world has constant and instant access to. As of July 2014, nearly half of the world's population has regular access to the
Internet. Massive amounts of reading material from countless sources give the world a constant stream of new information to study and learn from,
and widespread use of social media today provides all people with a constant means to exercise their ability to write. However, along with this massive
influx of technology has come several costs; traditional distribution media and models have lost their relevance greatly, especially to younger people, ...

On the negative side of things, we have become increasingly depend upon electronic aides in our writing. Smart phone users, for example, now
account for a very large portion of regular Internet users, and both major smart phone operating systems (Android and iOS) have tool sets tied into their
distributions by default, such as on–demand dictionaries and thesauri and word–and–phrase completion, which may speed up communication but also
have the effect of maybe doing too much work for the user, unintentionally encouraging laziness and contributing to poor academic performance for
when users do not have access to such applications. On a positive note, however, this has provided endless opportunities for reading and writing for
those who attempt to do so. There are many online publications for reading material, not to mention e–books. Also there are tons of places on line to
communicate with people from all over the world, which can be a good language skill–building opportunity as one learns to express ideas in new ways.
Technology may provide too much assistance to build composition skills by its own means, but those who wish to hone their skills of communicating

Stereotypes And Media Analysis
Your television and computer are controlling every choice you make. Scary thought? Everyday Americans log into their computer or turn on their
TV and are fed information from our trusted media. In fact, a Marshall survey states, "By 2015, it is estimated that Americans will consume both
traditional and digital media for over 1.7 trillion hours, an average of approximately 5 and a half hours per person per day." Unknowingly at times,
we are allowing our media to shape the choices we make, the ways we see others, and the way we view ourselves. With most of Americans unaware
of the media's control on their choices and views, this can be an alarming realization. Media has a major impact on multiple parts of our society.

As seen in "Effects of Disney's Gender Stereotyping" it said Disney has created many movies that make people sacrifice for others. Ariel gave up
her voice and many other things just so she could be with Prince Eric. This shows that even companies that are "so innocent" like Disney are
creating these wrong stereotypes. In another video called "Always #likeagirl" it stated when people say like a girl it's almost always a bad thing. Like
you run or throw like a girl it's normally a bad thing. So many people want to make it a good thing. This illustrates that people want to reverse things.
2nd, 3rd, even 1st graders take part in these wrong stereotypes. According to a graph in "Middle Eastern and Muslim Stereotypes in Media" it said
"According to Southern illinois university out of 1000 films from 1896 to 2007 that contains Middle Eastern references 12 were good and over
900 hundred were bad." This demonstrates that to many people are being way to stereotypical. Out of 1000 films there was only 12 good references
and over 900 bad references! There are such things as good Middle Easterns. Media plays a role in the shaping of our society's stereotypes and one's

Regarding where I used social media, the majority of it would be in my room, train stop, bus stop and on campus. As I've already said, having an

Content Analysis Of The Media
There are numerous sources in which an individual can obtain information about current events happening around the world; some produce content
strictly on the pretense of political affiliation, while others attempt to establish a more neutral footing, and others are simply more credible than
others. Only four examinations will be necessary to prove this, however: The New York Times, the New York Post tabloid, the Richmond Times
Dispatch, a local newspaper centered in Virginia, and finally the Telegraph, a conservative leaning news source based in Britain. Each of these sources
provide an overwhelming amount of diversity on the issues they cover and the manner in which they do so, format, and political ideology within their

The New York Times was perhaps the most diverse of the four examples provided here. Their stories covered issues happening all around the
globe; such as the earth quake which just hit Mexico, hurricane Maria, the United Nations Council meeting, North Korea, and most notably Donald
Trump. The New York Post however, was more geared towards the casual reader covering topics such as celebrity gossip in the U.S. and
occasionally a political issue here and there. The Telegraph focused mainly on issues in England, especially the problems Parliament is facing with
the Brexit decision and internal conflicts between members Theresa May and Boris Johnson. The Richmond Times Dispatch was circulating many
articles concerning the removal of Confederate monuments as it is a pressing issue for many people residing in the Southern states of the U.S. Other
articles were very focused on issues Virginian's were facing. Specific articles that had been written by the reporters of each website varied, especially
in contrast with work done by the New York Post. The New York Times in discussing Trump on his statements made at the UN council meeting were
not followed with words of praise or condemnation, but rather felt factual and focused on informing rather than convincing. However, in a article
written by the New York Post concerning a "Trump Victory Dinner" to be hosted in New York, albeit short, had subtle discontent with the actions of the

Media And Crime Analysis
Media plays a crucial role in bringing the depiction to the public about the knowledge about crimes. The public's opinion is greatly influenced by the
way the media presents the crimes committed as well as the awareness of the police. This means, therefore, if the media is accountable for the reports
presented on televisions, and social media platforms, the conclusions were drawn by the public about crime incidences depends on the information
presented by the media (Barak, 2013). Print media industry extensively produces copies that cover crime stories to boost their industry by selling large.

Human Suffering And Media Analysis
In the context of the current mediatised society, the media have become the platform where the encounter with the other increasingly takes place, and
in particular, where the public becomes aware of circumstances of human suffering that are happening far away from their immediate locale
(Thompson, 1995). Even though the media have expanded the field of view of the spectator, the mediated encounter with the distant sufferer is
structured over an 'abysmal gap' (Bauman, 1993) between the scene of suffering and the safe reality of the spectator sheltered behind the screen. This
paradox has raised a number of moral and ethical considerations. The question at the heart of the debate is to what extent the 'new visibility' of the

Taking a normative standpoint, Silverstone maintains that the media should function as a 'public space that works for the human condition and not
against it' (2007: 33), a 'moral space' that promotes the inclusion and care of the other. This cosmopolitan disposition towards the other, especially in the
context of distant suffering, can then become the foundation of transnational solidarity and of the pursuit of justice overall (Silverstone, 2007).
Silverstone advocates for the media to adopt specific representational principles that foster this sort of cosmopolitan engagement. In particular, he
proposes the notion of 'proper distance', a theoretical principle that captures the dialectical coexistence between the 'common humanity' of the other and
his irreducible difference (Silverstone, 2007). 'Proper distance', in other words, identifies the degree of proximity that presents the other as 'other with
humanity' (Chouliaraki and Orgad, 2011); who deserves the dignity that is to be accorded to all humans but is also unique and implicated in specific

Media Bias Analysis
Journalist Jim Lehrer believes that media bias is not as prevalent as many people believe when it comes to election coverage, stating that "99% of the
political coverage that I see in the mainstream media is driven by what happens, not by anybody's bias" (Lehrer, 2008). Despite Lehrer's claim of no
media bias, both conservatives and liberals believe media bias against them is real. Studies, however, show that this more a question of their own bias
rather than that of the journalist, and loss of power in traditional media and changes in public opinion about the press have made it difficult for the
press to assert itself as neutral.
Traditional media, such as newspapers, have been in decline as news consumers turn to free access on the internet, and advertising dollars have fled
along with the consumers. The newspaper industry has $1.6 billion less a year to spend on news than ten years ago (Jones, 2017, p. 577). Newer
forms of online and digital media do not have the high financial costs of television and printed media to publish their content and are better able to
cater to specific issues. In reviewing news, studies show that consumers tend to judge the media source as biased if it differs from their own opinions

community newspapers website managers offered some context to what choices might occur behind the scenes including the percentage of content
submitted by the audience community media actually publishes. The expectation was that the percentage of UGC published would be high based past

In addition, the survey results pointed toward a lack of interest among those managing community journalism websites in engaging in any form
gatewatching. For example, the survey respondents suggested through their survey responses that they considered it unimportant to help guide their
audience to other reliable sources. The focus for community media seems heavily focused on print. The web appears to be less a concern to
community newspaper website managers. However, print does have a seemingly limited future with the millennial generation (Meyer, Speakman &
Garud, 2016), and the audience is moving online (Abernathy, 2014). Community journalism as both a business and a public service should determine
a manner to survive online while making a profit. There is research suggesting that young people age into subscribing to print, however, those
numbers have been steeply declining among all age groups (Pew, 2016), and Poindexter (2012) predicts that millennials are unlikely to resemble past
media habits of increasingly reading print as they become older. The role of community media More community news publications have the ability to
take advantage of the additional capabilities of the web for telling stories as a manner of drawing a new and different audience to supplement existing
print subscribers. The boundaries between print, broadcast, and online journalism erode online, and the audience appropriated a more

Media Analysis: Modern Family
This paper is a media analysis of the TV show Modern Family in relation to gender as a social institution. We constantly consume media without
knowing it has repercussions. Media is a social institution that reinforces gender and racial social inequalities. For my data, I randomly picked
(through a random episode generator) season 5 episode 8 and season 6 episode 18 as my two episodes to analyze. In this paper I will show how
cultural stereotypes about identity and femininity intersect on Modern Family to reinforce gender and racial inequalities. These stereotypes are observed
through themes. There are three main themes that can be observed while watching Modern Family. The first is that males are portrayed as quiet, while
females are loud. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both men share characteristics with both the females and males in the show. While some would assume this helps in breaking the gender stereotypes, it
actually reinforces it because when the gay men are portraying male characteristics it is to be taken seriously. This is seen in season 5 episode 8, in
which Cameron and Mitchell are visiting Cameron's family. The entire episode centers around Cameron trying to hide his sexuality and marriage from
his grandmother. In order to conceal his sexuality he changes his mannerisms. Some mannerisms he changes, while with his grandmother, include
making his high–pitched voice deeper and not yelling as often. He also dresses in darker, baggier clothing and gestures with his hands less. There is
a specific scene where his grandmother walks in and his smiling face drops to a more downcast expression. This aligns with what we as a society
expect men to be. Tough Guise 2, shows that men are told that they should not express emotion because that is feminine. Cameron's reaction was
to quickly drop his feminine characteristics because "being a 'real man' is about . . . doing whatever it takes to avoid the shame of being
perceived as 'feminine'" (Katz 2013). Not once, in any episode I analyzed, was masculine seen as something to be ashamed of, unlike femininity. In
fact, in season 6 episode 18 Jay tells Mitchell that he did not rescue Mitchell from camp when he was younger because it was "for [his] own good.
Learning to fend for yourself is an important part of becoming a man." Masculinity is seen as an advantage that is attained while femininity is seen
as a drawback that is to be outgrown or hidden. When Mitchell and Cameron are portraying female characteristics it is for humor or to remind the
audience that they are gay. In season 6 episode 18 Cameron has a role in a play in which he emphasizes his gesturing and yelling

Social media has proved to be a vital tool wherein businesses, and a host of other organizations get to converse directly with customers/audience,
therefore resulting in an unparalleled level of fan engagement. Sports clubs and franchises have seized the opportunity and leveraged this incredible

athletes have accounts which enable millions of fans to connect personally with them. This direct conversation has allowed fans to engage in the sport

users engaging in different forums and LinkedIn groups. It is a site that over 90% of recruitment firms and 85% of hiring managers utilize to find

Any job engagements will be formalized offline by having professional exchanges and discussions off site.
Step 3: Integrate Strategies
The main objective of the strategy will entail growing one's social media presence and finding the right connections. Therefore, LinkedIn will be the
right tool to integrate to one's offline job search and career growth. Penetrating the social media sites will require proper planning, determination,
creativity and consistency. The main strategy will entail posting quality content to offer industrial advice, periodical reports and corporate analysis
(Johnson, 2017).
The strategy will be mixed with offline engagements which will include attending at niche based professional career events and industrial marketing
network conferences created by individuals within my online social circles as an opportunity to have face to face conversations. After creating an
online presence, the only way to stand out from the rest of the professionals looking for jobs and career opportunities will be to develop and manage a
group with common interest as a long term strategy from where one can grow as a marketing consultant.
Step 4: Identify Resources
The social media personal branding strategy will enable one to sell their skills as a marketer through various social media sites, such as LinkedIn,

Media And Psychological Analysis
The influence of the media on psychological human development is profound (PMC, 2003). Media influences do play a vital role in shaping a person's
behaviour, particularly in adolescent and young adult years. Media affects society and can control how people interact and behave, also contributing to
what is socially and culturally accepted (raisingchildren.net.au, 2015).
The effects of media are most powerful during a person's adolescent and young adult years. Adolescents and young people have to work through a
broad range of issues in their transition from childhood to adulthood and usually becomes a time for experimenting and partaking in risky behaviours
(Better Health Channel, 2015). A person may turn to certain media outlets, including print, television, film and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As society changes and moves towards a more technological era, media is heavily relied upon. When a person is insecure or vulnerable, media can
be a way for people to feel connected with the world and people around them. Children are exposed to media and technology from a very early age,
particularly with its use in schools and households. For example, a toddler watching Sesame Street can be taught valuable lessons about racial harmony,
cooperation, simple arithmetic and the use and application of literacy, through an educational television format. The use of media continues throughout
a person's life, as society depends more and more on it for relaying information and educating (PMC, 2003).
Media is changing the way how people access and share knowledge (common sense, 2015). Cultural and political awareness can be learned, as media
can expose young people to an array of different cultural backgrounds, ethnic groups and traditions. Family members and peers may display
stereotypes of different cultural groups, though media outlets can offer a varied display of ethnic groups and can allow people to think critically,

Analysis Of Quit Social Media
Living in a world where social media are highly incorporated into our daily lives is associated with being detached from the things that matter, such
as family, friends, and even human relationships in general. Moreover, in 2016, Cal Newport pointed out in his article, "Quit Social Media. Your
Career May Depend On It", from The New York Times, that people are now beginning to believe that socialmedia may perhaps take a toll on their
career. On the contrary, I find it ironic that people claim to be victimized by socialmedia when they are giving it authority over them and their lives
by assuming they cannot stay in control of how they occupy their time. If common people permit social media to drain valuable work time, then they
are one of two things; careless of their job, or they feel as though they are not in charge of their life. I believe that social media cannot agonize a
career unless the person using it gives it the power to do so. On the other hand, Newport believes that social media can "hurt your career" by making
someone counterproductive.
The first point Newport makes in his paper is that social media can harm one's career. Additionally, Newport explains in their article the many ways
in which he deems that social media can impact a career and work ethics. Newport acknowledges social media is "engineered to be addictive" and
goes further to explain that it deteriorates the skill to focus on complex tasks without losing concentration. Within his second point, he says that, "The
more you use social media in the way it's designed to be used...the more your brain learns to crave a quick hint of stimulus..." This is supported by
general knowledge that social media is an addiction of sorts; once the brain becomes well–acquainted with it, it will rely on it to generate happiness.
Newport then goes on to say the idea of introducing social media into his life is as frightening as the idea of tobacco is to an athlete. Another point he
makes is that commitment to "cultivating your social media brand is a fundamentally passive approach to professional advancement." He asserts this
view by declaring it simply diverts time from work to personal fulfilment. Newport concludes his paper by suggesting that in order to

Essay: MEDIA ANALYSIS IN MALAYSIA (NEWSPAPERS)
INTRODUCTION Newspapers are essential in everyone's daily life as it is the main source of news since the olden days before the television was
invented. Without the newspapers, where does the news come from? Particularly in Malaysia, there are several languages used in the country. The
main languages used however are English, Bahasa and Mandarin. Each of these different languages have specially dedicated newspapers to the
particular language. For the Malaysian English Newspaper, one of the best known newspapers is Malaysia is The Star. The Star was first published as
a regional newspaper in George Town, Penang in 1971. During that time, it is also the first kind of tabloid to be... Show more content on

However, during the year 1984, the Minister of Home Affairs came up with the Printing and Publications Act to invalidate any publications licensees
that reckoned as threatening to the state. By the end of the year 1900s, Malaysia had fourteen newspapers, Singapore issued eight, Penang issued three,
the confederated states had two and Kelantan had one. As for the other broadsheets in Malaysia, there are the Al–Iman, Neracha (Islamic reform
journals), Utusan Melaya and Lembaga Melaya (1906–1931). The Utusan Melaya and Lembaga Melaya were edited by a man named Mohd Eunos b.

PROGRESS TO DATE As a medium of mass communication and also as an industry, the changing relationship between newspapers and readers is
part of this upheaval. This is because newspapers are poised at the edge of a significant change in their operation and role. The first newspaper in
Malaysia was the Prince of Wales Island Gazette, published in Penang in 1805 and begun by the British. When Malayan was under the hands of the
British in 1968, the government developed restrictive policies toward the press. The reason is that they feared the spread of communism in Malayan.
Unfortunately, the spread of communism in Malayan was unstoppable. In April 1930, the Malayan Communist Party was founded in Singapore. Many

Analysis Of Social Media
Social media is constantly adding more and more different platforms. This discourse is constantly evolving daily and presents the difficult task of
naming all the different platforms. During my writing phase of my project according to ebiz.com, the top fifteen most popular social media were:
Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, Tumbler, Instagram, Reddit, VK, Flickr, Vine, Meetup, Ask, FM, and Classmates
––this list is not
exhaustive. For the purposes of this project, I will primarily focus on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat and Instagram. Here are features

for the church to use social media, the most recent statistics indicate that Americans are embracing the internet and social networking as a means of
connection precipitously. Social media is now an integral part of life online as social websites and applications become more easily available. Most
traditional online media include social components, such as comment fields for users. Pew Research Center report the following statistics (see figures
1.1 and 1.2). In that context, a national survey of 1,520 adults conducted March 7–April 4, 2016, finds that Facebook continues to be America's most
popular social networking platform by a substantial margin: Nearly eight–in–ten online Americans (79%) now use Facebook, more than double the
share that uses Twitter (24%), Pinterest (31%), Instagram (32%) or LinkedIn (29%). On a total population basis (accounting for Americans who do not
use the internet at all), that means that 68% of all U.S. adults are Facebook users, while 28% use Instagram, 26% use

Media Bias Analysis
Iraqi crisis has always been under the consideration of media and politicians to the Middle East in particular and to the whole world in general in
recent years. The media are concerned with how they tend not to present reality in a neutral manner. Therefore, they resort to manipulation, deception,
and lying in order to manipulate the truth for no other purpose than to mislead and persuade readers (hearers) and satisfy the interests of their
politicians. Even news which is governed by values of truthfulness, accuracy, and integrity, has always been the object of criticism by politicians who
represent different conflicted countries. Van Dijk (1988: 83) states that "ideologically news implicitly promotes the dominant beliefs... Show more

The media do deceive the public. The media, of course, do not acknowledge that. What they do is send their audience a different message. They
deny what they already think and feel. They tell their audience the news. The fact that the media do all this in order to deceive their audience
indicates that the media should be criticised. When people discover media lies and deceits, they will be invited to criticise it. What the human race is
suffering from is mass hypnosis. People are being hypnotised by media and politicians. The chasm between what the people are told is going on and
what is really going on is absolutely enormous. There has been limited research on news channels which favour some countries over others, therefore,

Credible In The Media Analysis
In a work where news gets thrown in our faces right , left and center , it becomes difficult to filter out which news is true and which is not. But ,
before asking how to filter out the news , we need to ask ourselves why should we have to categorise the news as credible or non–credible ? Why
would the person writing this article wouldn't want to lie to me ? Many times a journalist may get a story from a source who may or may not be very
honest or in some rare cases journalists may make up stories with twisted facts and misquoting individuals. However, in the media business , when
someone makes a mistake , there's always ten others who are waiting to point it out. What makes the media credible, to the everyday reader, is the idea

Media Bias Analysis
The presence of media bias is an undeniable fact. I believe an objective news media outlet is basically nonexistent and that bias is unavoidable in
society today. It's natural for a writer or reporter's point–of–view to be slightly evident in their work, but the true problem occurs when much of the
reporters, anchors, writers, editors, and producers are undoubtedly of the same political opinion, with little to no diversity of opinion represented.
Because of that reason, the media can deny their bias and do not have to make any effort to balance their view with any other opposing viewpoints.
Reporters are intended to simply report the news. However, their personal opinions or the agendas of the network are reported as fact. Often, the
position of major media outlets is extremely liberal, and they are known to use deliberate deceptive tactics, or to bluntly state their liberal opinions as
fact.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

like "civil rights activist" or "children's rights supporter". Time after time, the liberal media makes personal attacks on the character of conservatives
with little to no real evidence to back up their claims. But, when there is real, condemning evidence against a liberal's character, the media has no

Diversity In The Media Analysis
Mainstream media is the single most influential aspect of American culture, and it's failing all the people that consume it. While the majority of
viewers are perfectly satisfied with what they're being fed, they're only getting empty calories. They don't know they're starving. But minority groups
can feel the hunger pangs, and they know exactly what will satisfy them: diversity. America is missing out on its biggest, and most readily available,
way to positively change society, and it doesn't have to be that way. In order to gain acceptance for minority groups, all the mainstream media needs to
do is focus on diverse characters, treat those characters with the respect, and keep them on as quasi–permanent members of the cast.
Recently, a new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There's a TV show, and it not only includes a black, female character, but she's accurately portrayed and equally shares the spotlight with two other
leads. Everything is going along perfectly well, and then BAM! She dies three episodes into the new season. This ploy is all too common in
mainstream media. A creator will add a diverse character, only to remove them when either there's an audience outcry (from viewers who've never
before encountered that type of person) or when an imaginary "diversity quota" is reached, and it's no longer necessary to represent a certain group
through an important character because another group is going to be represented through a different character. Why can't both characters be part of
the show? That's the "diversity quota" in action. It makes creators and majority viewers uncomfortable when the people like them are outnumbered,
or even in danger of being outnumbered eventually, so the number of diverse characters is minimized and many of them are killed off or "relocated"
to a new place where they're never seen again, even if they were vital to the show at one

Media Bias Analysis
The purpose of this essay is to explain how the media is biased and in what direction the bias leans towards. For a long time, there has been
speculation that there is a liberal bias in the mass media. This is a problem because, "citizens cannot cast informed votes or make knowledgeable
decisions on matters of public policy if the information on which they depend is distorted, it is vital to American democracy that television news and
other media be fair and unbiased." [1] Unfortunately, the information we receive in the news, campaigns, and other media are often portrayed to be
or look a certain way, either to favor a particular political party, just make it look negative, or scare and the divide the public. Who is to blame for this?

In the picture attached, I believe this image represents bias by omission. This type of bias occurs when part of the information is left out, not
allowing one to look at the bigger picture. In the picture attached, there are three different versions. The first portion of the picture shows a
distressed man with a gun against head. That image could invoke fear into anyone. From that part of the image's point of view it looks like
whoever is holding the gun about to kill the kill the man on the ground that's obviously hurt. This negative image would make people believe the
solider is killing an innocent man, when that may not be the case. The third portion of the picture shows only the positive aspect of the picture.
This image shows a man offering water to a man that is down and hurt. This part is heartwarming and makes the soldier look like a hero. That
scenario would be ideal but not necessarily the case. Lastly in the middle part of the image, we can see the bigger picture. That's what the media
sometimes fails to show us. When given the bigger picture it is easier to then base our view given all possible information and without missing
detail. Now with all part of the image involved, I can make an assumption that the man on the ground is probably on the opposing side in a war. I
could also tell that the others soldiers are helping him recuperate but also have the gun towards his head for protection. To someone else this picture
could still mean something completely different and that will always be a downfall of the

Alcohol In The Media Analysis
Shaken or Stirred?
How alcohol in the media affects young minds.
Media plays a big part in portraying alcohol to be something that young Australians feel they need to try. Media does not just refer to their portrayal in
television shows and movies, but also the role advertisements have on television, radio, music, billboards, internet, signs, video games, public transport
and magazines. Television advertisement plays a major role in the attraction of alcohol to adolescence, and a key aspect of this is the timeslot in which
they are shown. The timeslot in which television advertisements depict alcoholic beverages are more often than not in between programs that are
popular amongst the younger generations. This includes cartoons and programs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many youth even try to study these portrayals in order to look and act like the people they see in the ads. They often show that increased social
status and an overall acceptance by society will most certainly be the result of consumption. This gets even more complicated when celebrities and
role models often associated with adolescence are portrayed with alcohol, as the younger generation will feel more compelled to try alcohol if their
role models do. This can lead to a subconscious abuse of alcohol simply due to the fact that they don't know any better.
Advertisements aren't the only form of media that draws younger viewers in. Movies and television programs that depict main, or even minor,
characters consuming alcohol can also cause adolescence to feel that there must not be that many negative effects if these people are doing it, or that
the negative effects must be worth it. A study shows that 52.1% of movies contain alcohol brand name appearances, while 83% contained the

If we are looking at pages of newspapers or an online news website, it is not always shown to the audience as what is newsworthy but more about
what can catch the eye of the reader first. Page designers for these newspapers and news websites design these pages to catch the eye of the reader,
to make it seem a lot more desirable to its particular audience. "Often page designers use this fact to their advantage to create a publication which is
highly accessible, engaging and desirable for their particular audience to read." (Layton 2011, p.97) In my analysis I will be compare the Australian

Newspapers such as the the Herald Sun and the Cape Argus are known as tabloid newspapers because they are widely read and highly controversial.

Media Bias Analysis
Introduction: During this week I investigated many different news sources and different tactics they use. My research has shown the incredibly strong
bias that the media has. To get a full grasp of the biases I had to use source diversity. My sources ranged from social media, to television, to web–based
articles. Through my research, I discovered the effective and prevalent uses of loaded language, social media, sensationalism, bias in quotes, and
the role of gatekeepers in media. Example 1: Fox News had a segment on President Donald Trump's milestones in office. Fox News is known for
having a Republican bias, and its bias was very prevalent in the use of loaded language. "The Angle" had an infographic saying that Trump

towards Trump's personal agenda against the media. Additionally, Trump exposes the strength of the media's gatekeepers and how greatly they can
impact which issues are talked about. Example 3: CNN used both sensationalism and showed bias in how the media refers to people they quote. In
the headline for an article Mattingly and Killough wrote "Trump tells Dems he's a 'big loser' under GOP tax plan". This showed sensationalism and
misuse of a quote because the headline used a minor part of sentence with no context to mean something completely difference. They took two words

the author used already available data. This significantly reduced the time and financial strain that a survey could take up. The sample was collected
through random digit dialing and availability to the Internet. This adds to the reliability of the results. Traditional phone surveys use a set list of
phone numbers. This would exclude those who have private or unlisted numbers. This problem is avoided with random digit dialing. The surveys

The media's role in politics should be to tell the people the facts about the candidates. They should also tell us about candidates' views, policies,

and some sources claim he has just as much potential as Hillary Clinton. The following data was collected from new articles released between

Media Convergence Analysis

  • 1. Media Convergence Analysis I thought Heidi A. Mckee had some really interesting material that I had not thought of before on the issue of ethical and legal issues surrounding the convergence of media. As media in today's age is constantly changing, so in order to keep up with the ever–evolving media the ethical and legal laws must also evolve with it. Before reading this essay by Mckee, I did not know about the legal and ethical implications of media convergence. So in reading this it was very eye–opening to see all the issues associated media. What really stuck out to me was the issues of ethical issues as a teacher who incorporated media into the lessons. As a future teacher, I never thought of having to have students sign consent or release forms for their work if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. The Credibility Of Media Analysis In today's world, technology consumes the daily life of many citizens. With the availability of the media at our very fingertips, we have become loyal to the media. Many people rely on the media for the news and important information going on in the world, when at one point you could only find this in the daily newspaper that was dropped off at your door every morning. There is an issue with relying on the media for important information, and that is because they manipulate us. They make us believe what they want and it's become almost a form of entertainment, similar to TMZ. Let's start off by looking at CNN, which is popular for world news and politics. You would think that if they were covering these important topics, then they would be reliable, but that is not the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A Syrian actor was used and effects were added into the video, in order to make it look realistic. The actor, Danny, was saw in the video footage and asked to "get the gunfire sounds ready," before his video conference with Anderson Cooper. This goes to show that the media can manipulate us from our own couches. Another recognizable name commonly releases information that they want us to read, which is TIME Magazine. If you take a look at the cover of TIME Magazine in the US and those in other countries you will see that our country tends to always have a different cover story, then everyone else. TIME is one of the biggest news magazines there is and they can reach and influence a lot of people in the United States. It seems as if some of the covers are chosen for political reasons, but in the end it comes down to market research and wanting to increase their sales. Now that could be a completely wrong assumption, but that is what the evidence leads to as well as censorship. Not only are we manipulated by the TV news stations and magazines, but in the advertisements we see everywhere. This is a popular topic of anger because many people are aware of the fact that companies tend ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. An Analysis Of The Media 's Bias An Analysis of Bias in Media Bias by and within the media is subject to and motivated by a complex but predictable set of factors. These factors are both meaningful and measurable. Bias within the media is oftentimes thought of as simple and straightforward but this is not the case. While no ethnic group outright denies the existence of bias within major news outlets, whites feel it occurs less than blacks. Exceptions that conflict with this sentiment do exist, of course. As David Niven stated in his 2005 paper, certain powerful individuals are capable of making targeted allegations of bias that serve only to highlight a specific individual or socio–political entity's style of thinking – in this article instance, sports reporters were criticized by Rush Limbaugh for having more sympathy for black quarterbacks when they performed well. However, in cases like this one, the remark can be depicted as purely for publicity's sake rather than reporting. Blacks on the other hand have demonstrated a consistent level of doubt relating to the credibility of major news coverage, but with a drawback. As Beaudoin & Thorson state in the 2005 paper, coverage of Blacks and black issues is viewed less favorably when presented with non–black or low–black sources. Blacks and black issues presented by or with a black source are viewed considerably more favorable. This topic of bias is in a near constant state of flux. As ratios and relationships of and between different ethnic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Social Media Analysis The Information Age in which we live is so called because of the generally easy access to the endlessly expanding network of knowledge that is the Internet, which so much of the world has constant and instant access to. As of July 2014, nearly half of the world's population has regular access to the Internet. Massive amounts of reading material from countless sources give the world a constant stream of new information to study and learn from, and widespread use of social media today provides all people with a constant means to exercise their ability to write. However, along with this massive influx of technology has come several costs; traditional distribution media and models have lost their relevance greatly, especially to younger people, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the negative side of things, we have become increasingly depend upon electronic aides in our writing. Smart phone users, for example, now account for a very large portion of regular Internet users, and both major smart phone operating systems (Android and iOS) have tool sets tied into their distributions by default, such as on–demand dictionaries and thesauri and word–and–phrase completion, which may speed up communication but also have the effect of maybe doing too much work for the user, unintentionally encouraging laziness and contributing to poor academic performance for when users do not have access to such applications. On a positive note, however, this has provided endless opportunities for reading and writing for those who attempt to do so. There are many online publications for reading material, not to mention e–books. Also there are tons of places on line to communicate with people from all over the world, which can be a good language skill–building opportunity as one learns to express ideas in new ways. Technology may provide too much assistance to build composition skills by its own means, but those who wish to hone their skills of communicating effectively can find no more opportunities to do so than ... • 5. Stereotypes And Media Analysis Your television and computer are controlling every choice you make. Scary thought? Everyday Americans log into their computer or turn on their TV and are fed information from our trusted media. In fact, a Marshall survey states, "By 2015, it is estimated that Americans will consume both traditional and digital media for over 1.7 trillion hours, an average of approximately 5 and a half hours per person per day." Unknowingly at times, we are allowing our media to shape the choices we make, the ways we see others, and the way we view ourselves. With most of Americans unaware of the media's control on their choices and views, this can be an alarming realization. Media has a major impact on multiple parts of our society. The media effects politics. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As seen in "Effects of Disney's Gender Stereotyping" it said Disney has created many movies that make people sacrifice for others. Ariel gave up her voice and many other things just so she could be with Prince Eric. This shows that even companies that are "so innocent" like Disney are creating these wrong stereotypes. In another video called "Always #likeagirl" it stated when people say like a girl it's almost always a bad thing. Like you run or throw like a girl it's normally a bad thing. So many people want to make it a good thing. This illustrates that people want to reverse things. 2nd, 3rd, even 1st graders take part in these wrong stereotypes. According to a graph in "Middle Eastern and Muslim Stereotypes in Media" it said "According to Southern illinois university out of 1000 films from 1896 to 2007 that contains Middle Eastern references 12 were good and over 900 hundred were bad." This demonstrates that to many people are being way to stereotypical. Out of 1000 films there was only 12 good references and over 900 bad references! There are such things as good Middle Easterns. • 6. Social Media Analysis Regarding where I used social media, the majority of it would be in my room, train stop, bus stop and on campus. As I've already said, having an internet–enabled smart phone has contributed to having higher media usage due to being able to use it on the go. YouTube was another social media that I frequently used, I noticed that I spent much time using YouTube, activities that I engaged in where watching movie trailers, watched cooking tutorials, dancing tutorials, braiding tutorials, dancing tutorials, make up tutorials and I also used it to watch motivational videos. overall I spent almost an hour or two per day on you tube and the device used was my laptop and at times when waiting for my next class Google is another social media that... • 7. Content Analysis Of The Media There are numerous sources in which an individual can obtain information about current events happening around the world; some produce content strictly on the pretense of political affiliation, while others attempt to establish a more neutral footing, and others are simply more credible than others. Only four examinations will be necessary to prove this, however: The New York Times, the New York Post tabloid, the Richmond Times Dispatch, a local newspaper centered in Virginia, and finally the Telegraph, a conservative leaning news source based in Britain. Each of these sources provide an overwhelming amount of diversity on the issues they cover and the manner in which they do so, format, and political ideology within their editorials and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The New York Times was perhaps the most diverse of the four examples provided here. Their stories covered issues happening all around the globe; such as the earth quake which just hit Mexico, hurricane Maria, the United Nations Council meeting, North Korea, and most notably Donald Trump. The New York Post however, was more geared towards the casual reader covering topics such as celebrity gossip in the U.S. and occasionally a political issue here and there. The Telegraph focused mainly on issues in England, especially the problems Parliament is facing with the Brexit decision and internal conflicts between members Theresa May and Boris Johnson. The Richmond Times Dispatch was circulating many articles concerning the removal of Confederate monuments as it is a pressing issue for many people residing in the Southern states of the U.S. Other articles were very focused on issues Virginian's were facing. Specific articles that had been written by the reporters of each website varied, especially in contrast with work done by the New York Post. The New York Times in discussing Trump on his statements made at the UN council meeting were not followed with words of praise or condemnation, but rather felt factual and focused on informing rather than convincing. However, in a article written by the New York Post concerning a "Trump Victory Dinner" to be hosted in New York, albeit short, had subtle discontent with the actions of the president ensuring to note that he rarely ... • 8. Media And Crime Analysis Media plays a crucial role in bringing the depiction to the public about the knowledge about crimes. The public's opinion is greatly influenced by the way the media presents the crimes committed as well as the awareness of the police. This means, therefore, if the media is accountable for the reports presented on televisions, and social media platforms, the conclusions were drawn by the public about crime incidences depends on the information presented by the media (Barak, 2013). Print media industry extensively produces copies that cover crime stories to boost their industry by selling large. This quote from Simon Mainwaring emphasizes the purpose of social media and how using it works to create a community. Each discourse community has a different standard in communication and everyday we are asked to use different ways to communicate. The way we communicate can tell a lot about the community we are in. Each day is a new opportunity to communicate with different people who are a part of several communities. • 10. Human Suffering And Media Analysis In the context of the current mediatised society, the media have become the platform where the encounter with the other increasingly takes place, and in particular, where the public becomes aware of circumstances of human suffering that are happening far away from their immediate locale (Thompson, 1995). Even though the media have expanded the field of view of the spectator, the mediated encounter with the distant sufferer is structured over an 'abysmal gap' (Bauman, 1993) between the scene of suffering and the safe reality of the spectator sheltered behind the screen. This paradox has raised a number of moral and ethical considerations. The question at the heart of the debate is to what extent the 'new visibility' of the other can in fact... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Taking a normative standpoint, Silverstone maintains that the media should function as a 'public space that works for the human condition and not against it' (2007: 33), a 'moral space' that promotes the inclusion and care of the other. This cosmopolitan disposition towards the other, especially in the context of distant suffering, can then become the foundation of transnational solidarity and of the pursuit of justice overall (Silverstone, 2007). Silverstone advocates for the media to adopt specific representational principles that foster this sort of cosmopolitan engagement. In particular, he proposes the notion of 'proper distance', a theoretical principle that captures the dialectical coexistence between the 'common humanity' of the other and his irreducible difference (Silverstone, 2007). 'Proper distance', in other words, identifies the degree of proximity that presents the other as 'other with humanity' (Chouliaraki and Orgad, 2011); who deserves the dignity that is to be accorded to all humans but is also unique and implicated in specific geopolitical ... Despite Lehrer's claim of no media bias, both conservatives and liberals believe media bias against them is real. Studies, however, show that this more a question of their own bias rather than that of the journalist, and loss of power in traditional media and changes in public opinion about the press have made it difficult for the press to assert itself as neutral. Traditional media, such as newspapers, have been in decline as news consumers turn to free access on the internet, and advertising dollars have fled along with the consumers. The newspaper industry has $1.6 billion less a year to spend on news than ten years ago (Jones, 2017, p. 577). Newer forms of online and digital media do not have the high financial costs of television and printed media to publish their content and are better able to cater to specific issues. However, print does have a seemingly limited future with the millennial generation (Meyer, Speakman & Garud, 2016), and the audience is moving online (Abernathy, 2014). We constantly consume media without knowing it has repercussions. Media is a social institution that reinforces gender and racial social inequalities. For my data, I randomly picked (through a random episode generator) season 5 episode 8 and season 6 episode 18 as my two episodes to analyze. Both men share characteristics with both the females and males in the show. While some would assume this helps in breaking the gender stereotypes, it actually reinforces it because when the gay men are portraying male characteristics it is to be taken seriously. This is seen in season 5 episode 8, in which Cameron and Mitchell are visiting Cameron's family. The entire episode centers around Cameron trying to hide his sexuality and marriage from his grandmother. In order to conceal his sexuality he changes his mannerisms. Some mannerisms he changes, while with his grandmother, include making his high–pitched voice deeper and not yelling as often. He also dresses in darker, baggier clothing and gestures with his hands less. There is a specific scene where his grandmother walks in and his smiling face drops to a more downcast expression. This aligns with what we as a society expect men to be. Tough Guise 2, shows that men are told that they should not express emotion because that is feminine. Cameron's reaction was to quickly drop his feminine characteristics because "being a 'real man' is about . . . doing whatever it takes to avoid the shame of being perceived as 'feminine'" (Katz 2013). Not once, in any episode I analyzed, was masculine seen as something to be ashamed of, unlike femininity. In fact, in season 6 episode 18 Jay tells Mitchell that he did not rescue Mitchell from camp when he was younger because it was "for [his] own good. Learning to fend for yourself is an important part of becoming a man." Masculinity is seen as an advantage that is attained while femininity is seen as a drawback that is to be outgrown or hidden. • 23. Analysis Of Quit Social Media Living in a world where social media are highly incorporated into our daily lives is associated with being detached from the things that matter, such as family, friends, and even human relationships in general. Moreover, in 2016, Cal Newport pointed out in his article, "Quit Social Media. Your Career May Depend On It", from The New York Times, that people are now beginning to believe that socialmedia may perhaps take a toll on their career. On the contrary, I find it ironic that people claim to be victimized by socialmedia when they are giving it authority over them and their lives by assuming they cannot stay in control of how they occupy their time. If common people permit social media to drain valuable work time, then they are one of two things; careless of their job, or they feel as though they are not in charge of their life. I believe that social media cannot agonize a career unless the person using it gives it the power to do so. On the other hand, Newport believes that social media can "hurt your career" by making someone counterproductive. The first point Newport makes in his paper is that social media can harm one's career. Additionally, Newport explains in their article the many ways in which he deems that social media can impact a career and work ethics. Newport acknowledges social media is "engineered to be addictive" and goes further to explain that it deteriorates the skill to focus on complex tasks without losing concentration. Within his second point, he says that, "The more you use social media in the way it's designed to be used...the more your brain learns to crave a quick hint of stimulus..." This is supported by general knowledge that social media is an addiction of sorts; once the brain becomes well–acquainted with it, it will rely on it to generate happiness. Newport then goes on to say the idea of introducing social media into his life is as frightening as the idea of tobacco is to an athlete. Another point he makes is that commitment to "cultivating your social media brand is a fundamentally passive approach to professional advancement." He asserts this view by declaring it simply diverts time from work to personal fulfilment. Newport concludes his paper by suggesting that in order to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because of that reason, the media can deny their bias and do not have to make any effort to balance their view with any other opposing viewpoints. Reporters are intended to simply report the news. America is missing out on its biggest, and most readily available, way to positively change society, and it doesn't have to be that way. A creator will add a diverse character, only to remove them when either there's an audience outcry (from viewers who've never before encountered that type of person) or when an imaginary "diversity quota" is reached, and it's no longer necessary to represent a certain group through an important character because another group is going to be represented through a different character. • 31. Media Bias Analysis The purpose of this essay is to explain how the media is biased and in what direction the bias leans towards. For a long time, there has been speculation that there is a liberal bias in the mass media. This is a problem because, "citizens cannot cast informed votes or make knowledgeable decisions on matters of public policy if the information on which they depend is distorted, it is vital to American democracy that television news and other media be fair and unbiased." [1] Unfortunately, the information we receive in the news, campaigns, and other media are often portrayed to be or look a certain way, either to favor a particular political party, just make it look negative, or scare and the divide the public. Who is to blame for this? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the picture attached, I believe this image represents bias by omission. This type of bias occurs when part of the information is left out, not allowing one to look at the bigger picture. In the picture attached, there are three different versions. The first portion of the picture shows a distressed man with a gun against head. That image could invoke fear into anyone. From that part of the image's point of view it looks like whoever is holding the gun about to kill the kill the man on the ground that's obviously hurt. This negative image would make people believe the solider is killing an innocent man, when that may not be the case. The third portion of the picture shows only the positive aspect of the picture. This image shows a man offering water to a man that is down and hurt. This part is heartwarming and makes the soldier look like a hero. That scenario would be ideal but not necessarily the case. Lastly in the middle part of the image, we can see the bigger picture. That's what the media sometimes fails to show us. When given the bigger picture it is easier to then base our view given all possible information and without missing detail. Now with all part of the image involved, I can make an assumption that the man on the ground is probably on the opposing side in a war. I could also tell that the others soldiers are helping him recuperate but also have the gun towards his head for protection. To someone else this picture could still mean something completely different and that will always be a downfall of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Alcohol In The Media Analysis Shaken or Stirred? How alcohol in the media affects young minds. Media plays a big part in portraying alcohol to be something that young Australians feel they need to try. Media does not just refer to their portrayal in television shows and movies, but also the role advertisements have on television, radio, music, billboards, internet, signs, video games, public transport and magazines. Television advertisement plays a major role in the attraction of alcohol to adolescence, and a key aspect of this is the timeslot in which they are shown. The timeslot in which television advertisements depict alcoholic beverages are more often than not in between programs that are popular amongst the younger generations. This includes cartoons and programs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many youth even try to study these portrayals in order to look and act like the people they see in the ads. They often show that increased social status and an overall acceptance by society will most certainly be the result of consumption. This gets even more complicated when celebrities and role models often associated with adolescence are portrayed with alcohol, as the younger generation will feel more compelled to try alcohol if their role models do. This can lead to a subconscious abuse of alcohol simply due to the fact that they don't know any better. Advertisements aren't the only form of media that draws younger viewers in. Movies and television programs that depict main, or even minor, characters consuming alcohol can also cause adolescence to feel that there must not be that many negative effects if these people are doing it, or that the negative effects must be worth it. A study shows that 52.1% of movies contain alcohol brand name appearances, while 83% contained the consumption of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Media Analysis Essay If we are looking at pages of newspapers or an online news website, it is not always shown to the audience as what is newsworthy but more about what can catch the eye of the reader first. Page designers for these newspapers and news websites design these pages to catch the eye of the reader, to make it seem a lot more desirable to its particular audience. "Often page designers use this fact to their advantage to create a publication which is highly accessible, engaging and desirable for their particular audience to read." (Layton 2011, p.97) In my analysis I will be compare the Australian Newspaper Herald Sun to the South African Newspaper the Cape Argus. Layton (2011, p. 93) argues that the format of a newspaper is often a good indication of its quality and readership. He describes the Herald Sun as a tabloid newspaper stating that it is "classed as popular and middle–market newspapers... aimed at a working class readership" (Layton 2011, p.94) Newspapers such as the the Herald Sun and the Cape Argus are known as tabloid newspapers because they are widely read and highly controversial. • 36. Media Bias Analysis Introduction: During this week I investigated many different news sources and different tactics they use. My research has shown the incredibly strong bias that the media has. To get a full grasp of the biases I had to use source diversity. My sources ranged from social media, to television, to web–based articles. Through my research, I discovered the effective and prevalent uses of loaded language, social media, sensationalism, bias in quotes, and the role of gatekeepers in media. Example 1: Fox News had a segment on President Donald Trump's milestones in office. Fox News is known for having a Republican bias, and its bias was very prevalent in the use of loaded language. "The Angle" had an infographic saying that Trump accomplished "a soaring economy" and deported "violent criminal aliens". Trump attempts to show the extent of bias in the media exposing that they didn't report a major event. This tweet has bias towards Trump's personal agenda against the media. Additionally, Trump exposes the strength of the media's gatekeepers and how greatly they can impact which issues are talked about. Example 3: CNN used both sensationalism and showed bias in how the media refers to people they quote. In the headline for an article Mattingly and Killough wrote "Trump tells Dems he's a 'big loser' under GOP tax plan". This showed sensationalism and misuse of a quote because the headline used a minor part of sentence with no context to mean something completely difference. They took two words and twisted them into saying that Trump called himself a big loser which is a headline that is sensationalist and sure to attract many clicks. Example ... If this recent election has proven anything, it is that there is vast wealth of election coverage. Citizens can now access political information, and news coverage from almost anywhere through a variety of mediums. This increased access has opened a new dimension. Partisan media effects have been researched in the past. However, this article points out that there is a lack of inquiry on the timing of partisan media influence during the election cycle. More exposure repeatedly reduces the effect. These two referenced influences set the stage for the following research designs. The two surveys utilized data from the National Annenberg Election Study. The data was retrieved using Internet and telephone collection methods. An advantage to this method was the utilization of two pools of sampling. The pools were each collected from the Internet, and one telephone. Also, the author used already available data. This significantly reduced the time and financial strain that a survey could take up. The sample was collected through random digit dialing and availability to the Internet. This adds to the reliability of the results. Traditional phone surveys use a set list of phone numbers. This would exclude those who have private or unlisted numbers. This problem is avoided with random digit dialing. The surveys were conducted during four different waves. The waves were from winter, spring, summer, and fall waves. The winter wave resulted in 19,190 respondents. The spring wave resulted in 17, 747 interviews. The summer wave included 20,052 interviews. The fall wave resulted in 19,241 respondents. To be ...
