2. Overview
The Stockless Challenge is a lean game designed to demonstrate core kanban concepts in an engaging
format.
The game simulates a manufacturing process and illustrates how kanban principles can be applied.
In the activity, you’ll be split into teams.
Teams are required to design a work area for the construction of a Lego product: a Small Trolley with 6
variants, then to complete a construction phase.
There is a review phase after the activity.
3. Your team’s task is split into three phases:
1. Get to know the product by building
variants
2. Test the maximum output by building as
many assemblies as possible in a set time
3. Incorporate kanbans by agreeing a target
rate, designing a layout, and completing a
production run
