Message coded– think how you are going to say what you are thinking.
Message sent– send the message verbally or otherwise.
Message received– the other person sees/hears your message.

Other ways to communicate in an informal manner may include texting, post–it notes, and an
informal drop in visit to another person, or a quick and spontaneous meeting. Informal
communication includes all the various methods of relaying information or messages between
people. It often is called "the grapevine" as messages weave back and forth and around people.
There are none of the trappings of formal messages, such as company letterhead, planned meetings
or specific introductions of guests. Everyone is relaxed and casual, eager to chat about many things,
as there is no specific agenda to follow.
Types of communication | Advantages | Disadvantages | How to improve | Verbal | In a world
flooded with E–mail and other text–based communication, verbal communication has several
advantages over other forms of communication. For example, we can slow down and present points
one–by–one and make sure that each point is clearly communicated and understood before moving
on to the next point.Verbal communication is far more precise than non–verbal. No matter how clear
we believe we are being, different gestures have different interpretation. Verbal communication is
also the most effective way of explaining complicated concepts, as problem areas can be readily
addressed and explained. | Of course, this does not mean that verbal communication is the best
option in every circumstance. Verbal communication can also be quickly

Effective Communication And Good Leadership Skills
Every group, institution or company needs to communicate internally as well as externally to deliver
and manages the things in best possible way (Linjuan Rita Men, 2015). Managers or leaders for such
task are responsible for successful communication and understanding of messages with each and
every attendee involved. A person having good leadership skills but lack in skills of communication
will never be preferred in any industry for conduction and delivering meetings and speeches or any
other sort of public communication. Effective communication skills are necessary not only in
business meetings but also in several other private and public relations including hospitals,
educational institutions and industry. Work to be completed by groups needs to discuss plan, its
strategy and future direction and cooperative coordination which can only be achieved by
integrating great leadership skills with effective communicating styles (Vries, Bakker–Pieper &
Oostenveld, 2010). A combination of these can only lead any group towards success. It can help a
team to achieve their goal once they are clear to them. Unclear communication and poor
management may demotivate members, which may lower their interest and passion for the work.
This article will focus on the importance of communication in field of business and health care and
some measure to be taken in these areas to achieve targeted aim.

Abstract– Mobile marketing can be made more personalized through Mobile Personalized
Marketing (MPM). Customers now expect content to be more personalized and relevant, and
marketing technology has risen to meet the challenges. Due to the ubiquity, interactivity and
localization of mobile devices, the customer contextual information ((i.e) the environment where a
customer is located) identifies the needs of customer and offer product & services by understanding
the customer's preferences. Existing work focused on contexts of mobile users and their activities
for better predicting customer preferences. In existing, only limited numbers of dimensions are
considered to predict the user preferences. It cannot precisely predict about people's daily activities,
which could be extremely difficult due to the inherent randomness of human behavior. The proposed
work focuses on the number of dimension combination to be increased for each event with respect
to context and action rule of a user. User clustering is constructed and similarities between the users
are also evaluated for prediction of mobile behaviors with considerations of user relation.

The Importance Of Communication For Law Enforcement
There are several communication mediums that the law enforcement professional must be aware of
and utilize to successfully communicate to the target audience. The avenues for communication
continue to increase which include emails, text messages, and conference calls to video blogging. In
the law enforcement profession the communication style and method chosen will depend on the
message that is being conveyed (LEPS 510 Communication for Law Enforcement Leaders Module
2). The type of medium used will be dependent on the desired communication goal. The correct
medium choice was evident in a 2012 homicide case that was being investigated by the Brownwood
Police Department. On September 11, 2012 Michele Reiter (38) was reported missing from
Brownwood, Texas. The police department began investigating the case and followed up on leads
which led to the discovery of her body buried in a shallow grave. The body was located by a law
enforcement search team in a remote area of Coleman County Texas. At that time I was the
supervisor over the investigative division. We received information and developed a suspect. The
suspect was an ex–boyfriend who had created a fake Facebook account in order to keep in
communication with her. He pretended to be an old friend from high school and advised that he
worked at the DFW airport in Dallas. They set up a meeting time at a local park. She realized it was
her ex–boyfriend and attempted to leave, but he displayed a gun and was able to get her

Feedback Is Essential For Effective Teaching Essay
COMMIINICATION FEEDBACK
To be sure that the message (knowledge of the subject) has reached the students (the receiver) with
the same meaning, purpose and intention as was desired, the teacher has to get some
acknowledgement from the students. Feedback is the process that ensures this. This can take the
form of a mod, an acknowledgement, or doing something as expected by the students. Feedback
provides a learning opportunity to the–teacher and the students both as it mirrors where the
communication has gaps or inadequacies indicating the corrective action to be taken. In case of
classroom teaching such feedback is essential for effective teaching. On the other hand if students
act in conformity with the communicated items, they also need to know this from the teacher. This
kind of feedback loop is the most essential principle of effective teaching. Positive and negative
both kinds of feedback are necessary. They should, however be focused on specific action rather
than on the individual student. Comments related to behavior are accepted more easily than those
relating to an individual personality, attitudes, feelings etc. But it is necessary to tell the students
where they are wrong. If they are not told this, the wrongs may perpetuate. Feedback, which is
provided "Here and Now" is more meaningful than the delayed one. It is more effective to provide a
feedback as a way of sharing information rather than insisting on the right way of doing things. For
that reason the teacher

Gerry Cahill Case Summary
Carnival's president and CEO, Gerry Cahill responded quickly to address the situation, and chose
the direct communication approach. He began with an apology, and acknowledgement of the
passengers challenging situation. In cases where the company was clearly in the wrong, this is
proven to be very effective (Guffey, Loewy). His message then stated that safety is their highest
concern, and concluded with the commitment to get them home as quickly as possible. Emphasizing
safety, undoubtedly supported the company from a litigation standpoint, while relaying a reason
why they may be taking longer than expected. Mr. Cahill won praise from the media. Therefore, I

Presentation Skills: How Important Importance Of...
How important is Presentation Skills
Presentation Skills are extremely essential for you to succeed professionally. In today's business
environment, the competition in the workplace is getting more competitive. It is no longer enough
for you to have the necessary capability to do the job, you should also be able to talk well, write
well, and present yourself attractively to your superiors. What better way to let other people know
what you're capable of than by presenting a great idea or a plan during a meeting. However, you
need to have the necessary presentation skills to succeed in this endeavor.
The most important element during a presentation is you. You are the one that the audience is
concentrating on. You convey who you are based on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It does not matter if you are the most attractive person in the room with the personality to match it if
the content of your presentation itself means nothing. So you should prepare an in–depth and
comprehensive study of the topic you are assigned and present it in an intelligent and confident
manner. It is only then that people can say that you are really indeed, a great worker or business
owner.
Actually though, a lot of people take weeks if not months to come up with the appropriate content
for a presentation. First, the speaker should have an objective for the presentation. This will
determine the content and the structure of the entire presentation. It is also important to look at the
audience so that the mode of presentation would be appropriate to the knowledge and interest. Now,
going through all these are also part of developing great presentation skills.
Developing presentation skills and giving an effective presentation is not an easy matter. It is said
that some people are born with presentation skills but you should also remember that presentation
skills can be learned. And take note that presentation skills can be developed further when it is being
practiced regularly so develop your presentation skills and become an

family crisis, but The Human Resources office cares most about the shift being covered by Jeff, and
not his personal problems. 7. What do I want my audience to think, do, feel, or believe after reading
my message? I would hope the primary audience, the company, would empathize with the problems
I am currently having, and not penalize me for caring for my mother during her illness. 8. Are there
any benefits for my audience that is related to this message? The benefit for the audience I can think
of would be to try and schedule the leave for after the event, so both parties can be satisfied. 9. What
information do I need to include for the secondary audience? The secondary audience, Human
Resources, requires paper work for incidences and emergencies. A doctor's note and a request are
needed to clear the time off, and an incident report is needed to terminate the employee. 10. Which
medium is most appropriate for this message and this audience? Why? For Human Resources, a full

Clinton Church Meeting Essay
The 152nd Annual Conference of the Grand Ole North Carolina Conference convened at one of the
Conference's historical churches, Clinton Chapel AME Zion in New Bern, NC. Reverend Dr. M.
Luther Hill, its gifted pastor, and his great congregation were very gracious hosts and made
everyone feel welcomed. They opened their doors on Sunday and ministers, adorned in their
priestly, white robes, marched in to open this great Conference in High Church Methodist fashion.
The service, filled with high spiritual elements intertwining the liturgical elements, connected our
hearts to the ancient tradition of the Anglican Church; however, with an African American twist.

in a full field, Rev. Pridgen based his sermon, "Lazarus Ain't the Only One," on John 12:9–10. In his
lyrical, smooth, southern drawl voice, he described what happened to Lazarus in the chosen
periscope. He poignantly and instructively helped the congregation have a deeper and reflective
understanding of the text and its context. In great preaching tradition, this preacher scholastically,
theologically, and prophetically moved the church to a spiritual frenzy causing exuberant moments
of praise, prayer, and crying. People filled the altar with sobs and

Functions Of A Manager 's Role Is Communication
One of the main functions of a manager's role is communication. Effective communication allows
for the successful transmittal of information to all parties who need the information. Managers must
be skillful in delivering not only the good news but also the bad news. Two of the most challenging
topics a manager may have to communicate involve reporting that the company is not performing as
expected and informing an employee that they are no longer employed with the company.
For–profit companies are, by definition, created to make money, or a profit. They allocate resources
towards the goal of earning revenue. Shareholders and stakeholders both benefit when a company's
profits increase and many companies today are investing in new technology, usually at a high cost.
The goal is that the new technology will bring more business, thus more profits. When a company
underperforms despite the heavy investments in new technology, it is the manager's responsibility to
communicate upwards to the shareholders what the company's performance is, why the loss
happened, and what changes will be made going forward to correct the issue.
When the company made the decision to invest in the new technology, the communication process
would have been utilized to convey the message to all parties what the expected outcome of the
investment would be. The sender, in this case maybe an IT professional, would have presented the
benefits of the new technology to upper management by encoding the message

Impact Of Paul Of Tarsus
Christianity has a vast influence on individuals, society and the way christians go about their
everyday life. By providing ethics, morals and practices, christian are guided everyday through their
lives. The impact and effect of Paul of Tarsus is represented through his contribution towards
theology and sacred texts which has led him to being referred to as the founder of Christianity, and
the most significant figure in Christianity after Jesus Christ.
There is not much known about Paul during his early life, but it is known that Paul was originally
known as Saul, and that he was zealous for Jewish traditions and he intensely persecuted the
followers of Jesus. On the road to damascus, Saul had an encounter with the Lord Jesus, roughly 3

Catholic Culture
In the monograph entitled, Architects of Catholic Culture, Thomas Cook (2011) notes that there is a
"configuration of core beliefs and values that distinguish Catholicism from other Christian
denominations." (p. 17). Among these beliefs is the attitude that community strengthens the
individual's relationship with Jesus, and as such, it is an integral part of faith formation.
Additionally, Gospel values inform the catechesis of elementary schools, which frequently include
faith, service, courage, and social justice, among others. Significantly, faith is not static or
unchanging. "Faith must be known, celebrated, lived, and expressed in prayer." (United States
Conference of Catholic, 2005). Therefore, effective catechesis relies on six elements that are
fundamental to faith formation. Each element is an essential component. Initially, knowledge of the
faith is acquired through an understanding of the scriptures as well as an understanding of church
traditions. Additionally, an understanding of the liturgy and the sacraments is gained by participating
in the Mass and in the reception of the sacraments. Further, moral formation is based on an
understanding of Christ's moral message. Next, and fundamental to the Catholic identity is teaching

Media Has Always Played A Vital Role In Our Lives. It Affects
Media has always played a vital role in our lives. It affects what we think, what we eat, where we
live, and so on. The flow of information is important in shaping how we view the world in which we
live in. But, in order for us to better understand the complex relationship between society and media,
we must first analyze the main theories of media. By examining narrative, semiotics, framing,
agenda setting and gate keeping, we will develop a better understanding of how media has shaped
our culture, value, and ideas. In a society dominated by constant access to media, our view of the
world is increasingly influenced by narrative. Whether through print, film, or social media these
outlets tell us stories about who we are and the society we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The stereotypes of race allow the audience to adopt a narrative based on emotion and cultural
experiences which undermine the factual basis of the event and leads to manipulation of the
narrative. Semiotics focuses on signs and their meanings within a culture or society. A sign is
something that has meaning, but can also mean something else, so essentially a sign is anything that
can suggest meaning. Words, pictures, fashion and even where you're from can all be considered a
sign, in that they express meaning. Interpreting media is about understanding the signs that media
creates and and how they give significance to things and communicate those values to someone else
(Berger, 2012, p.10). Our emotions and actions are controlled by a set of cultural messages and
relies on our ability to interpret them unconsciously. In our everyday lives we need to understand the
perspective in which a sign is communicated in order to recognize its true meaning and react
accordingly. Media has always influenced the emotion of society on topics relevant to the times.
Whether its sports, politics, or coverage of foreign wars, media distributes info that fills our society.
Semiotics affects the media because no matter how much media adapts; individuals still need to be
able to comprehend what they find in media as a symbol of the world around them. The countless

Effective Communication : Work Relationship And...
There are many work relationship and interpersonal communication strategies that any leader must
understand and incorporate in their life in order to be effective. Leaders are responsible for
disseminating their vision for the future to an organization, and they will fail in this regard if they
lack the ability to deliver their message clearly and concisely.
Strategies of Effective Communication
The first rule leaders have to understand is that any successful long term communication is based on
truth. Trust is a necessary component in leadership roles; it's hard to come by, and is built on over
time. If a leader lies to someone that is supposed to be working for them, they rarely forget and the
leader's reputation will be forever stained with that worker.
Leaders need to be able to have and project their expertise in their respective field. Leaders have a
vision for the future that they have to inspire their subordinates to strive towards. In order for that to
happen, leaders must show that they understand the problem space of their vision and are able to
navigate any obstacles which will come up. A leader who doesn't understand their domain will have
to completely rely on outside information, and won't be able to take advantage of their ability to
separate the wheat from the chaff in information.
The second rule that leaders should know when communicating with their subordinates is that they
have to have an open mind. In conjunction with having an open mind, leaders also

Speech On Women 's Rights
On September 5, 1995 in Beijing, China, first lady Hillary Clinton delivered a speech on women's
rights at the United Nations Fourth World Conference of Women. As Clinton stood in front of an
audience of thousands she proudly stated "If there is one message that echoes forth from this
conference, let it be that human rights are women's rights and women's rights are human rights once
and for all." The target of the conference was to inform the audience of government officials, leaders
of organizations and the public on the problems women throughout the world face. Clinton's speech
argued how women were not treated equally and that women's rights should be equal to human
rights. Throughout her speech, Clinton provided harsh examples of the abuse, rape, death and
discrimination women face, to evoke sympathy from the audience. Her overarching goal was to get
action among government officials and motivate women across the world to take control of their
lives and not suffer from these circumstances. Clinton uses a mix of pathos, ethos, logos, and
anaphora to deliver a definition argument on why women's rights are human rights.
The conference was organized to achieve equality and opportunity for women throughout the world.

Social Values: What Is A Personal Value?
What is a personal value?
A personal value is an individual's absolute or relative and ethical value, the assumption of which
can be the basis for ethical action. A value system is a set of consistent values and measures. A
principle value is a foundation upon which other values and measures of integrity are based. Some
values are physiologically determined and are normally considered objective, such as a desire to
avoid physical pain or to seek pleasure. Other values are considered subjective, vary across
individuals and cultures, and are in many ways aligned with belief and belief systems. Types of
values include ethical/moral values, doctrinal/ideological (religious, political) values, social values,
and aesthetic values. It is debated whether some values that are not clearly physiologically

Reflection Of The Work
In The Work: Searching for a Life That Matters, Wes Moore shares his inspirational journey in
discovering his path to purpose by not only living a prosperous life, but a meaningful one. In
addition to sharing the profound measures taken to learn his life's worth through valor and service,
Moore shares acts of humanitarianism taken by family members and entrepreneurs, contributing to
his success. Leaving his mark on society, Moore effectively delivers a moral lesson: mankind is
inevitably intertwined and uniting valuable teachings from all walks of life creates an individual's
path to triumph. Nonetheless, living a life of meaning involves existing for more than yourself,
creating the freedom to pursue happiness, success and truly live. Prior to reading The Work, I read
Moore's first book, The Other Wes Moore, of in which I consider an intriguing follow up of the first.
Moreover, both Dr. Skye Paine lecture introducing passion as one of the key concepts of the book,

angles in this study: online activity, language quality, and social background. This study examines

Other researchers identified the important role persuasive writing in developing leadership abilities,
especially when faced with the degrading situation in persuasive writing in STEM education
(Osborne et al., 2004; Sampson & Clark, 2008; Sampson et al., 2013). The fear of United States
losing its global leadership becomes even more prominent when disconcerting results come back
from some international competency assessments (e.g. PISA).
There is a lack of literature that integrates these rather isolated perspectives, especially in the field of
education. In addition, even though certain studies touched upon the perspective of social
background, they lack empirical examination of its psychometric qualities (Cassell et al., 2006).
This study was initiated with a vision to develop a more applicable model to explain online
leadership development and bear educational implications to teachers and learners who are involved
in online learning environments.
Theoretical Framework
The first dimension associated with online leadership development is online activity. In regular off–
line settings, individuals often depend upon their social ability to spread and obtain information and

Socialization Analysis: Homosexuality Essay
Homosexuality is a trending topic especially with the issue of gay marriage in Utah. As a
heterosexual college woman, I have received negative and positive messages about homosexual
orientation. Large amounts of adverse criticism concerning the issue began in my town and school.
Most supporting messages came later in life, specifically attending college and moving to Salt Lake
City. And while there seems to be a shift in societal views towards positive connotations regarding
gay and lesbian, some negatives still hold power. Particularly, homosexual relationships and people
are bad. Growing up in the bubbled LDS community of Pleasant View, Utah, most views on gay or
lesbian relationships fell into the sinful category. My grade school ... Show more content on

However, as we've grown older he has told us to judge people upon character and actions. One of
our family friends is a lesbian couple, but that's not their title or who they are. It's an adjective. The
elder of the two is a successful and clever business woman who gives me constant yet sarcastic, and
for better lack of words, crap for attending the University of Utah and not where her alum lies. The
younger is a sweet, caring lady who will talk to you for hours about life as long as you play with her
puppies, Bailey and Kylee. Lesbian doesn't define their character, simply their sexual orientation.
Attending the University of Utah has broadened my view on homosexuality and other sexual
orientations. The school is accepting of all types of people and offers resources such as the LGBT
resource center. Last spring semester I participated in Leader–Shape (a leadership conference). The
LGBT center was represented and I learned a lot about what they do and how open people can be.
Learning more about the group aided in my understanding of their struggles and gave me a sense of
empowerment to help our society shift towards acceptance by encouraging friends and voicing my
own thoughts. After the conference I visited the Gay Pride festival and learned even more and just
celebrated. It was inspiring to see people come together and use a festival to honor differences.

Hargrave finds that many people think they know everything there is about communication and how
it can affect sales and an overall business. But not everyone realizes the power or importance of
body language; instead they think communication has mostly to do with saying the right things. In
reality, there are four different personalities in the world and part of a Realtor®'s job is to
understand which type their client is through reading body language paired with verbal
communication in order to have a solid and confident relationship with clients and prospect ones.
Understanding a client is not the only must in order to make a sale. Realtors® also need to realize
what kind of message they are sending their clients with the way they move, speak, and even the
way they listen. "We can hear a client, but that doesn't mean we are listening," says Hargrave. When
dealing with different clients and improving a business, Hargrave says effective communication
takes the brain, heart, and body. Once a Realtor® learns how to understand the different
communication tactics, it's a win win, no matter what the personality may

Effective Communication In The Movie 'Rush Hour'
"Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth". Chris Tucker said this to Jackie
Chan in the 1998 movie Rush Hour. Rush Hour was about two police officers from different cultures
who could not communicate effectively. Effective communication is essential in all aspects of life
from work to personal relationships. It is easy for a slight miscommunication to cause a massive
problem. Effective communication is important because it ensures a message is conveyed properly,
it allows for proper planning, and provides the ability to ensure a shared understanding is reached.
First, a major factor of effective communication is ensuring information is transmitted properly.
Loss of information can lead to a miscommunication with possibly catastrophic results. Sara
McComb of the University of Massachusetts elucidates "Communication occurs through two
processes: the inscription by the sender and interpretation by a receiver" (7). When this two–party
system is acknowledged, it is easier to understand how misinterpretations ... Show more content on

In the military, a leader's ability to extract intent from a message from its higher command, and then

Eric Skipper's Contribution To Graduate School
Upon arriving to the Gigs Conference, I wasn't too ecstatic about going. In my head, I was ready for
the speaker, only to take notes, and go home. However, when Eric Skipper took to the podium, I
knew what he had to say was going to be good. His message was to get Undergraduate Students to
think about Graduate School. He started off with, "Everyone does not have to go to Graduate
School." He then provided his audience with a rebuttal that should have gotten all of our minds
thinking, well mines for sure, at least. "Many majors are in high demand... Our workforce needs
advanced education. Master, Doctoral, etc." Evidently, this is very much true. Mr. Skipper provided
us with three reasons why we should pursue a higher education, i.e. Graduate School: contribute to

He then went on to say how Graduate School allows contribution to your area of interest. Ex:
Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy. "[In Graduate School you]... share your work. You can get exposure
for your work, instead of just sharing it between you and your professor. Share it externally and with
scholars." Before closing out, he provided statistics from the U.S Department of Labor, which

Hidden Messages In Cartoons And Disney Movies
(1)One of my most profound moments was when Dr. Jackson spoke about the hidden messages that
are in TV shows, rap music, and some of my favorite movies. I have never been oblivious to the
subliminal attacks that comes through the media, however, this presentation persuaded me to pay
closer attention. After I started paying a closer attention, I notice that the media is extremely
destructive and that they have a specific target, which are black people. I researched hidden
messages in Cartoons and Disney shows and I notice that everything Dr. Jackson stated was true.
The role of the black actresses on the Disney channel is always sassy and dramatic. I also observed
cartoon shows such as SpongeBob, The Lion king, Author, and Family Guy; the amount of
Ethnocentrism and racism that I found was overwhelming. Dr. Jackson's presentation revealed to me
just how serious this fight is. I am now more consciously aware of all messages that are being
relayed through the media.

how offensive one becomes when others are not as accepting to their ideologies. I spent countless of

Functions of Marketing and Public Relations
Functions of Marketing.
A market analysis is a method used to determine the current market and understand the competition.
By analysing what's trending you can use this to identify an audience, and improve sales by creating
what people want.
A marketing strategy is a plan identifying your target market, goals and objectives. It should include
the 4 P's. The purpose of a marketing strategy is to provide you with a structure and time limits.
Advertising is an effective way to communicate. Advertising is used to sell your product apart from
the competition, and encourage your target market to take an interest in your campaign/product to
create awareness.
The function of brand promotion is to increase brand awareness, customer loyalty and sales. It's
important to maintain a good image and be better and different from your competition. Evian is a
well–known water brand. Over the years, it has excelled in promoting itself with a clear theme,
babies. They use babies in all of their adverts to 'represent something pressure and pure' like their
water. They started using babies a few years back, but in 2013, they created 'Baby and Me'. They
promote their brand in various different ways. Evian created an app which allows you to see
yourself as a baby, which is a great marketing technique.
Functions of PR
Clear communication is important when managing the message, because people need to know
what's happening. Managing the message is used to tell a 'story' to its audience

Human Rights Speech Essay
"If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, it is that human rights are women's
rights.... And women's rights are human rights" proclaims Hillary Clinton in her speech entitled,
Women's Rights are Humans Rights. Clinton is widely known as the democratic candidate running
in the 2016 presidential election, but previously was known for delivering her powerful women's
rights speeches all over the globe. This address was given in Beijing, the capital of China, on
September 5, 1995 at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women. This powerful

Being invited by the secretary general of the United Nations makes her credibility appear stronger,
because it is an honor to be invited by someone of such importance to a national organization. She
also states, "Tomorrow, I will attend a gathering of the United Nations Development Fund for
women," (Clinton). Again being invited by the UN. Clinton's expertise on the topic also helps her
credibility. Clinton states, "Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating to
women, children, and families." Her providing the amount of time she has worked with women's
rights and that she has worked continuously on these issues makes her more credible. Being a
woman provides enough credibility to be able to speak on the rights of women, but traveling to other
countries and seeing how their women are treated contributes a proper understanding of how dire
the situation truly is.
A final element which makes this speech effective is the use of style. Towards the middle of
Clinton's speech, she is talking about the violation of human rights. She begins seven sentences with
"It is a violation of human rights..." and using this phrase provides power for her statements:
"It is a violation of human rights when babies are denied food..."

Rhetorical Analysis Of Graham Hill's Speech
Building Credibility Graham Hill gives a speech at a Technology, Entertainment and Design
Conference (TED), "Less Stuff, More Happiness" on October 5, 2011. In this speech, Hill shares his
thoughts about the advantages of taking less space and living more like a minimalist. Hill
understands that his audience, is made up of influencers and people that can be easily persuaded by
being relatable. He tries to persuade his audience that downsizing can bring happiness and an easy
going lifestyle. To make certain that Hill's argument is effective, he builds his credibility, uses facts,
and makes himself relatable through his word choice and how he establishes common ground.
Understanding that Hill would be giving his speech to people that are higher ups or influencers, he
builds his credibility, or ethos, so that his audience will trust him. This speech was given at
Technology, Entertainment and Design Conference, a conference that people pay money to listen to
numerous speeches and not a specific person. This audience has most likely listened to or will listen
to other speeches, in order for Hill to persuade his audience, he has to build his credibility and work

he has to say and to trust him. Jokes create a more playful tone that showcases his positivity. This
tone is most effective because Hill is trying to persuade people to change their life in a positive way,
using his light heartedness. By keeping the mood happy people might be inspired to convert to his

Rhetorical Analysis Of Hillary Clinton
"If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, let it be that human rights are
women's rights and women's rights are human rights once and for all" (Clinton). On September 5,
1995 in Beijing China, first lady Hillary Clinton delivered a speech about women's rights at the
United Nations Fourth World Conference of Women. The goal of this conference was to inform the
audience of government officials, leaders of organizations and average people on the problems
women in the world face. Clinton's speech argued how women were not treated equally and that
women's rights should be equal to human rights. Throughout her speech she got her point across by
providing harsh examples of the abuse and discrimination women face like abuse, ... Show more

In a section of her speech, Clinton repeated, "It is a violation of human rights" in a stern tone
multiple times while describing situations the horrifying situations women were forced into. This
repetition of the phrase created an important message that the way women were treated was a
violation of human rights. Clinton also repeated, "I have met", several times to express that she met
with women around the world who are also suffering from a lack of rights. Clinton also touched
upon this topic when she argued that women's freedoms differ from humans in the world. When
speaking about the lack of freedom among women Clinton sternly said, "Freedom means the rights
of people to assemble, organize and debate openly. Freedom means respecting the views of those
who may disagree with the views of the government." By repeating "Freedom means" multiple
times throughout her speech she gave examples of what freedom truly means. Clinton's use of
anaphora with the help of repetition drilled the ideas of the lack of women's rights. Clinton's
argument defining what human rights truly are has been argued before by Malcolm X. In Malcolm
X's speech, "The Ballot or the Bullet" presented in 1964, he argued that civil rights are human
rights. Clinton did not argue on the topic of civil rights, however she had the same goal of defining

Sojourner Truth Speeches
Title During the Abolitionist Movement, many speakers stood before crowds to express messages of
hope, inspiration, and change. Some of these speakers had years of experience in public speaking
and communication. Others, particularly slaves speaking about their own experiences, were notably
less eloquent. Despite this, they are often able to craft logically and emotionally persuasive
messages. Sojourner Truth, perhaps without knowing, uses erotema, polysyndeton, dialogismus, and
anthypophora in her speech "Ain't I a Woman?" in order to instill passion in her audience while
simultaneously advocating for both the rights of women and the rights of African Americans.
Sojourner Truth was born a slave and did not escape slavery until she was thirty years old (Michals).
During this time, she worked for four different slave owners, gave birth to five children, and
underwent intense labor and punishments (Michals). Truth eventually escaped slavery and became a
preacher and abolitionist, despite not knowing how to read or write (Michals). Knowing this history
is essential for understanding this speech, as it clearly demonstrates the author's position. It is also
interesting to note that Truth employed a variety of rhetorical devices in her work, despite likely not
knowing what they were. Truth delivered this speech at a women's rights conference as part of a
lecture tour in 1851 (Michals). It seems that her purpose was to rally women behind the idea that

Reflection On Social Justice Reflection
Today I had the opportunity to go to the social justice conference that was being held on campus. I
chose to attend the Question and Answer section of the conference because it was the section that
best worked for my schedule. I originally thought that this was going to be a boring conference
where older people sat down and talked about how times have changed. To my surprise it was
actually quite enjoyable and the hour seemed to go by with a blink of an eye. In this reflection I am
gonna to share with you how the conference was different from what I expected, what it talked
about and some of the people who were on the panel.
To start I want to share about how this experience was actually enjoyable and if I had the
opportunity I would possibly attend another one or one of a similar nature. My first expectation was
that this was going to be an event where a bunch of adults sat around and asked each other questions
about how times have changed and how it has affected certain groups. To my surprise when I get
there I realized that the audience was a mix of adults who were there to strengthen their
understanding of what social justice is and how it is happen in today's society. There were also a
decent amount of college kids there as well. There were some who were there representing an
organization that they were part of or some even were just there to have their voice heard.
During this part in the conference they had a question and answer section where they found a variety

strategy would be communication, for instance, involving each children's family to come and

their children's evolution in the classroom. Also, to send home activities. That way parents help their
child's learn at home. Last strategy would be collaborating with the community in collecting cans,

Collaborative Conferences
Parents play a pivotal role in the academic success of students. Therefore, it is important for
educators to provide frequent opportunities for collaboration with families so they can support
student learning at home. Additionally, regular communication with parents helps them understand
the educational programs in school so they can monitor student progress and advocate for their
child's needs. The majority of students enrolled at Chattahoochee Elementary School (CES) are
English language learners. Often these kinds of language barriers can interfere with the collaborative
process between home and school. However, CES worked diligently to ensure families remained

The Animal Science Discourse Community
The Animal Science discourse community is community that dedicates their studies in having an

production. For the reason that people keep animals in captivity for recreational, educational,
experimental, production or breeding, people within the animal science discourse community
believe it is important come to understand the well–being of the animals we depend on. The
common goal within the people in this field is to get involved in the care of animals. In order to
achieve this, individuals within the field put major emphasis on the data collected from their
research, which they expect to share with other individuals such as people within the field and the
outer world. In order to get a better understanding of the animal science discourse community, I
reached out to a current graduate student at the University of California, Davis. I wanted to
interview someone who was getting the experience of working within the community, but was also
learning how the community communicates. When working within the department, individuals are
to have in–depth knowledge on the study of animals. Without the knowledge, it would possibly be
difficult to communicate with other individuals who are dedicating partial time of their lives in
getting involved in the care of animals (Liza). That is for the reason that people within the
community have a specific language, which they communicate through. Being a

  • 18. The Importance Of Communication For Law Enforcement There are several communication mediums that the law enforcement professional must be aware of and utilize to successfully communicate to the target audience. The avenues for communication continue to increase which include emails, text messages, and conference calls to video blogging. In the law enforcement profession the communication style and method chosen will depend on the message that is being conveyed (LEPS 510 Communication for Law Enforcement Leaders Module 2). The type of medium used will be dependent on the desired communication goal. The correct medium choice was evident in a 2012 homicide case that was being investigated by the Brownwood Police Department. On September 11, 2012 Michele Reiter (38) was reported missing from Brownwood, Texas. The police department began investigating the case and followed up on leads which led to the discovery of her body buried in a shallow grave. The body was located by a law enforcement search team in a remote area of Coleman County Texas. At that time I was the supervisor over the investigative division. We received information and developed a suspect. The suspect was an ex–boyfriend who had created a fake Facebook account in order to keep in communication with her. He pretended to be an old friend from high school and advised that he worked at the DFW airport in Dallas. They set up a meeting time at a local park. • 22. Feedback Is Essential For Effective Teaching Essay COMMIINICATION FEEDBACK To be sure that the message (knowledge of the subject) has reached the students (the receiver) with the same meaning, purpose and intention as was desired, the teacher has to get some acknowledgement from the students. Feedback is the process that ensures this. This can take the form of a mod, an acknowledgement, or doing something as expected by the students. Feedback provides a learning opportunity to the–teacher and the students both as it mirrors where the communication has gaps or inadequacies indicating the corrective action to be taken. In case of classroom teaching such feedback is essential for effective teaching. On the other hand if students act in conformity with the communicated items, they also need to know this from the teacher. This kind of feedback loop is the most essential principle of effective teaching. Positive and negative both kinds of feedback are necessary. They should, however be focused on specific action rather than on the individual student. Comments related to behavior are accepted more easily than those relating to an individual personality, attitudes, feelings etc. But it is necessary to tell the students where they are wrong. If they are not told this, the wrongs may perpetuate. Feedback, which is provided "Here and Now" is more meaningful than the delayed one. It is more effective to provide a feedback as a way of sharing information rather than insisting on the right way of doing things. For that reason the teacher ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He began with an apology, and acknowledgement of the passengers challenging situation. In cases where the company was clearly in the wrong, this is proven to be very effective (Guffey, Loewy). His message then stated that safety is their highest concern, and concluded with the commitment to get them home as quickly as possible. Emphasizing safety, undoubtedly supported the company from a litigation standpoint, while relaying a reason why they may be taking longer than expected. Mr. Cahill won praise from the media. Reverend Dr. M. Luther Hill, its gifted pastor, and his great congregation were very gracious hosts and made everyone feel welcomed. They opened their doors on Sunday and ministers, adorned in their priestly, white robes, marched in to open this great Conference in High Church Methodist fashion. The service, filled with high spiritual elements intertwining the liturgical elements, connected our hearts to the ancient tradition of the Anglican Church; however, with an African American twist. With the spirit of the congregation lifted, people swayed, shouted, and reflected on God giving a new name. The Right Rev. W. Darin Moore introduced Rev. Julian C. Pridgen based his sermon, "Lazarus Ain't the Only One," on John 12:9–10. In his lyrical, smooth, southern drawl voice, he described what happened to Lazarus in the chosen periscope. He poignantly and instructively helped the congregation have a deeper and reflective understanding of the text and its context. In great preaching tradition, this preacher scholastically, theologically, and prophetically moved the church to a spiritual frenzy causing exuberant moments of praise, prayer, and crying. • 42. Functions Of A Manager 's Role Is Communication One of the main functions of a manager's role is communication. Effective communication allows for the successful transmittal of information to all parties who need the information. Managers must be skillful in delivering not only the good news but also the bad news. Two of the most challenging topics a manager may have to communicate involve reporting that the company is not performing as expected and informing an employee that they are no longer employed with the company. For–profit companies are, by definition, created to make money, or a profit. They allocate resources towards the goal of earning revenue. Shareholders and stakeholders both benefit when a company's profits increase and many companies today are investing in new technology, usually at a high cost. The goal is that the new technology will bring more business, thus more profits. When a company underperforms despite the heavy investments in new technology, it is the manager's responsibility to communicate upwards to the shareholders what the company's performance is, why the loss happened, and what changes will be made going forward to correct the issue. When the company made the decision to invest in the new technology, the communication process would have been utilized to convey the message to all parties what the expected outcome of the investment would be. The sender, in this case maybe an IT professional, would have presented the benefits of the new technology to upper management by encoding the message ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. Catholic Culture In the monograph entitled, Architects of Catholic Culture, Thomas Cook (2011) notes that there is a "configuration of core beliefs and values that distinguish Catholicism from other Christian denominations." (p. 17). Among these beliefs is the attitude that community strengthens the individual's relationship with Jesus, and as such, it is an integral part of faith formation. Additionally, Gospel values inform the catechesis of elementary schools, which frequently include faith, service, courage, and social justice, among others. Significantly, faith is not static or unchanging. "Faith must be known, celebrated, lived, and expressed in prayer." (United States Conference of Catholic, 2005). Therefore, effective catechesis relies on six elements that are fundamental to faith formation. Each element is an essential component. Initially, knowledge of the faith is acquired through an understanding of the scriptures as well as an understanding of church traditions. Additionally, an understanding of the liturgy and the sacraments is gained by participating in the Mass and in the reception of the sacraments. Further, moral formation is based on an understanding of Christ's moral message. Next, and fundamental to the Catholic identity is teaching students to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 54. Media Has Always Played A Vital Role In Our Lives. It Affects Media has always played a vital role in our lives. It affects what we think, what we eat, where we live, and so on. The flow of information is important in shaping how we view the world in which we live in. But, in order for us to better understand the complex relationship between society and media, we must first analyze the main theories of media. By examining narrative, semiotics, framing, agenda setting and gate keeping, we will develop a better understanding of how media has shaped our culture, value, and ideas. In a society dominated by constant access to media, our view of the world is increasingly influenced by narrative. The stereotypes of race allow the audience to adopt a narrative based on emotion and cultural experiences which undermine the factual basis of the event and leads to manipulation of the narrative. Semiotics focuses on signs and their meanings within a culture or society. A sign is something that has meaning, but can also mean something else, so essentially a sign is anything that can suggest meaning. Words, pictures, fashion and even where you're from can all be considered a sign, in that they express meaning. Interpreting media is about understanding the signs that media creates and and how they give significance to things and communicate those values to someone else (Berger, 2012, p.10). Our emotions and actions are controlled by a set of cultural messages and relies on our ability to interpret them unconsciously. In our everyday lives we need to understand the perspective in which a sign is communicated in order to recognize its true meaning and react accordingly. Media has always influenced the emotion of society on topics relevant to the times. Whether its sports, politics, or coverage of foreign wars, media distributes info that fills our society. • 66. Effective Communication : Work Relationship And... There are many work relationship and interpersonal communication strategies that any leader must understand and incorporate in their life in order to be effective. Leaders are responsible for disseminating their vision for the future to an organization, and they will fail in this regard if they lack the ability to deliver their message clearly and concisely. Strategies of Effective Communication The first rule leaders have to understand is that any successful long term communication is based on truth. Trust is a necessary component in leadership roles; it's hard to come by, and is built on over time. If a leader lies to someone that is supposed to be working for them, they rarely forget and the leader's reputation will be forever stained with that worker. Leaders need to be able to have and project their expertise in their respective field. Leaders have a vision for the future that they have to inspire their subordinates to strive towards. In order for that to happen, leaders must show that they understand the problem space of their vision and are able to navigate any obstacles which will come up. A leader who doesn't understand their domain will have to completely rely on outside information, and won't be able to take advantage of their ability to separate the wheat from the chaff in information. The second rule that leaders should know when communicating with their subordinates is that they have to have an open mind. In conjunction with having an open mind, leaders also ... A personal value is an individual's absolute or relative and ethical value, the assumption of which can be the basis for ethical action. A value system is a set of consistent values and measures. A principle value is a foundation upon which other values and measures of integrity are based. Some values are physiologically determined and are normally considered objective, such as a desire to avoid physical pain or to seek pleasure. Other values are considered subjective, vary across individuals and cultures, and are in many ways aligned with belief and belief systems. • 118. Functions of Marketing and Public Relations Functions of Marketing. A market analysis is a method used to determine the current market and understand the competition. By analysing what's trending you can use this to identify an audience, and improve sales by creating what people want. A marketing strategy is a plan identifying your target market, goals and objectives. It should include the 4 P's. The purpose of a marketing strategy is to provide you with a structure and time limits. Advertising is an effective way to communicate. Advertising is used to sell your product apart from the competition, and encourage your target market to take an interest in your campaign/product to create awareness. The function of brand promotion is to increase brand awareness, customer loyalty and sales. It's important to maintain a good image and be better and different from your competition. Evian is a well–known water brand. Over the years, it has excelled in promoting itself with a clear theme, babies. They use babies in all of their adverts to 'represent something pressure and pure' like their water. They started using babies a few years back, but in 2013, they created 'Baby and Me'. They promote their brand in various different ways. Evian created an app which allows you to see yourself as a baby, which is a great marketing technique. • 122. Human Rights Speech Essay "If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, it is that human rights are women's rights.... And women's rights are human rights" proclaims Hillary Clinton in her speech entitled, Women's Rights are Humans Rights. Clinton is widely known as the democratic candidate running in the 2016 presidential election, but previously was known for delivering her powerful women's rights speeches all over the globe. This address was given in Beijing, the capital of China, on September 5, 1995 at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women. This powerful address on women's rights presents how there should not be a difference between human rights and women's rights; that they are identical. Clinton wields her ethos, pathos, and ... Being invited by the secretary general of the United Nations makes her credibility appear stronger, because it is an honor to be invited by someone of such importance to a national organization. She also states, "Tomorrow, I will attend a gathering of the United Nations Development Fund for women," (Clinton). Again being invited by the UN. Clinton's expertise on the topic also helps her credibility. Clinton states, "Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating to women, children, and families." Her providing the amount of time she has worked with women's rights and that she has worked continuously on these issues makes her more credible. Being a woman provides enough credibility to be able to speak on the rights of women, but traveling to other countries and seeing how their women are treated contributes a proper understanding of how dire the situation truly is. A final element which makes this speech effective is the use of style. Towards the middle of Clinton's speech, she is talking about the violation of human rights. She begins seven sentences with "It is a violation of human rights..." and using this phrase provides power for her statements: "It is a violation of human rights when babies are denied food..." • 126. Rhetorical Analysis Of Graham Hill's Speech Building Credibility Graham Hill gives a speech at a Technology, Entertainment and Design Conference (TED), "Less Stuff, More Happiness" on October 5, 2011. In this speech, Hill shares his thoughts about the advantages of taking less space and living more like a minimalist. Hill understands that his audience, is made up of influencers and people that can be easily persuaded by being relatable. He tries to persuade his audience that downsizing can bring happiness and an easy going lifestyle. To make certain that Hill's argument is effective, he builds his credibility, uses facts, and makes himself relatable through his word choice and how he establishes common ground. Understanding that Hill would be giving his speech to people that are higher ups or influencers, he builds his credibility, or ethos, so that his audience will trust him. This speech was given at Technology, Entertainment and Design Conference, a conference that people pay money to listen to numerous speeches and not a specific person. This audience has most likely listened to or will listen to other speeches, in order for Hill to persuade his audience, he has to build his credibility and work to impress or relate to his audience. • 130. Rhetorical Analysis Of Hillary Clinton "If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, let it be that human rights are women's rights and women's rights are human rights once and for all" (Clinton). On September 5, 1995 in Beijing China, first lady Hillary Clinton delivered a speech about women's rights at the United Nations Fourth World Conference of Women. The goal of this conference was to inform the audience of government officials, leaders of organizations and average people on the problems women in the world face. Clinton's speech argued how women were not treated equally and that women's rights should be equal to human rights. Throughout her speech she got her point across by providing harsh examples of the abuse and discrimination women face like abuse, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a section of her speech, Clinton repeated, "It is a violation of human rights" in a stern tone multiple times while describing situations the horrifying situations women were forced into. This repetition of the phrase created an important message that the way women were treated was a violation of human rights. Clinton also repeated, "I have met", several times to express that she met with women around the world who are also suffering from a lack of rights. Clinton also touched upon this topic when she argued that women's freedoms differ from humans in the world. When speaking about the lack of freedom among women Clinton sternly said, "Freedom means the rights of people to assemble, organize and debate openly. Freedom means respecting the views of those who may disagree with the views of the government." By repeating "Freedom means" multiple times throughout her speech she gave examples of what freedom truly means. Clinton's use of anaphora with the help of repetition drilled the ideas of the lack of women's rights. Clinton's argument defining what human rights truly are has been argued before by Malcolm X. In Malcolm X's speech, "The Ballot or the Bullet" presented in 1964, he argued that civil rights are human rights. Clinton did not argue on the topic of civil rights, however she had the same goal of defining the true ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 134. Sojourner Truth Speeches Title During the Abolitionist Movement, many speakers stood before crowds to express messages of hope, inspiration, and change. Some of these speakers had years of experience in public speaking and communication. Others, particularly slaves speaking about their own experiences, were notably less eloquent. Despite this, they are often able to craft logically and emotionally persuasive messages. Sojourner Truth, perhaps without knowing, uses erotema, polysyndeton, dialogismus, and anthypophora in her speech "Ain't I a Woman?" in order to instill passion in her audience while simultaneously advocating for both the rights of women and the rights of African Americans. Sojourner Truth was born a slave and did not escape slavery until she was thirty years old (Michals). During this time, she worked for four different slave owners, gave birth to five children, and underwent intense labor and punishments (Michals). Truth eventually escaped slavery and became a preacher and abolitionist, despite not knowing how to read or write (Michals). Knowing this history is essential for understanding this speech, as it clearly demonstrates the author's position. It is also interesting to note that Truth employed a variety of rhetorical devices in her work, despite likely not knowing what they were. Truth delivered this speech at a women's rights conference as part of a lecture tour in 1851 (Michals). It seems that her purpose was to rally women behind the idea that black women deserve the ... • 138. Reflection On Social Justice Reflection Today I had the opportunity to go to the social justice conference that was being held on campus. I chose to attend the Question and Answer section of the conference because it was the section that best worked for my schedule. I originally thought that this was going to be a boring conference where older people sat down and talked about how times have changed. To my surprise it was actually quite enjoyable and the hour seemed to go by with a blink of an eye. In this reflection I am gonna to share with you how the conference was different from what I expected, what it talked about and some of the people who were on the panel. To start I want to share about how this experience was actually enjoyable and if I had the opportunity I would possibly attend another one or one of a similar nature. My first expectation was that this was going to be an event where a bunch of adults sat around and asked each other questions about how times have changed and how it has affected certain groups. To my surprise when I get there I realized that the audience was a mix of adults who were there to strengthen their understanding of what social justice is and how it is happen in today's society. There were also a decent amount of college kids there as well. There were some who were there representing an organization that they were part of or some even were just there to have their voice heard. During this part in the conference they had a question and answer section where they found a variety ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Describe two specific strategies that you would use in your own childhood care and education program for each of Epstein's six types of family involvement. (10 points). One of the strategies I would use in my own childhood care/education program is to make each student feel safe and welcome. This strategy will help me a lot in demonstrating each children's a parenting style. Another strategy would be communication, for instance, involving each children's family to come and volunteer. I would like to include each family to come for parent's conference to know more about their children's evolution in the classroom. Also, to send home activities. That way parents help their child's learn at home. Last strategy would be collaborating with the community in collecting cans, clothes, money, and other resources to help the community. 2. Write a reflective listening statement to respond to a parent of a four year old who says to you: "What kind of teaching is this? You're not getting her ready for Kindergarten because all she do is play at preschool." (5 points). Let me reflect; what are you trying to say is "That your preschool daughter will not be ready for Kindergarten, because all she does is play while she is here, plus what kind of teaching is this?" Am I correct? 3. Therefore, it is important for educators to provide frequent opportunities for collaboration with families so they can support student learning at home. Additionally, regular communication with parents helps them understand the educational programs in school so they can monitor student progress and advocate for their child's needs. The majority of students enrolled at Chattahoochee Elementary School (CES) are English language learners. The Animal Science Discourse Community The Animal Science discourse community is community that dedicates their studies in having an immense knowledge on animal health, animal behavior, farm management, and livestock production. For the reason that people keep animals in captivity for recreational, educational, experimental, production or breeding, people within the animal science discourse community believe it is important come to understand the well–being of the animals we depend on. The common goal within the people in this field is to get involved in the care of animals. In order to achieve this, individuals within the field put major emphasis on the data collected from their research, which they expect to share with other individuals such as people within the field and the outer world. In order to get a better understanding of the animal science discourse community, I reached out to a current graduate student at the University of California, Davis. I wanted to interview someone who was getting the experience of working within the community, but was also learning how the community communicates. When working within the department, individuals are to have in–depth knowledge on the study of animals. Without the knowledge, it would possibly be difficult to communicate with other individuals who are dedicating partial time of their lives in getting involved in the care of animals (Liza). That is for the reason that people within the community have a specific language, which they communicate through. Being a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
