Personal Communication Process Analysis
Describe the steps you took to get to your finished communication product, and explain how these
steps were helpful.
This journal entry will be my final entry for this class. I have enjoyed this class, as well as learned
many useful tools that will assist me in my career choice, as well as in general. I am usually late
with writing papers, as well as finals because I am anxious about the actual 'getting started' process
but once I start writing, it seems to flow. This is a problem that I am working on; therefore, I am a
'work in progress' in this area. However, when I started our final project in week one, as it was the
discussion topic, I feel more confident about this final paper, as well as less anxious about the
writing process. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I need to know if I am not on the same page as everyone else. However, I rarely get feedback from
my classmates, this happens in all my classes, for some unknown reason. I assume it is because I
write so much and no one wants to read and respond. My Instructor responded and gave me
feedback (thanks!), which helped me to make any necessary changes to my project. I cannot
imagine having to look for illustrations, learning to insert them in Word, researching for facts to
support my current knowledge about wound care, as well as the proper hand washing technique. I
remember in my last class, we talked about the "Bay of Pigs"; this short clip discusses where several
smart men (JFK and others) met together to decide what to do about the missiles in Cuba, and then
made the decision to invade Cuba. These men did not ask for a 'less than geniuses individual's
opinion, and proceeded to invade Cuba. This was a huge mistake. I said this to say, we all need to
ask others opinion in public matters, such as in advertising, films, political speeches, and the
ingredient of a healthcare lesson plans, as they can be crucial to others' health and vitality.
Therefore, I cannot prepare a professional lesson plan overnight! Hence, I am glad that I learned
how to work on a paper in sections, as well as email it to a coworker for advice during my
preparation, as to make sure I am on the right page and for constructive criticism. In my new field of
Applied Behavioral Science, I plan to work with children who have been involved with abuse;
however, with my experience in substance abuse, as well as my knowledge in this area, I may end
up in that field. We all tend to lean toward something that we know, instead of learning something
new. Regardless of the career field chosen, I will need to prepare lesson plans to teach individuals

Essay Writing Process Analysis
Using the four steps in essay writing will help you make your essay a better paper to read (Bethel
University, 2014). By having a point, supportive evidence, organized with specific evidence, and
write sentences clear and free of errors.
Summarize the information you learned about The Four Steps in Essay Writing.
What I have learned in essay writing is first you want to ensure you have a point or thesis (Bethel
University, 2014). This is so you can develop a single idea the readers can understand. You want to
write statements and ensure you that the topic is easy to discuss.
The second step I learned is; while writing, my essay needs to be specific with the evidence (Bethel
University, 2014). Using specific details by putting them in

My approach, and Chapter 2's ideas, for writing a draft are somewhat similar in many aspects. Prior
to beginning my draft, I organize myself and determine what has to completed based upon the
specifics provided to me in my assignment. I analyze my subject and purpose for my writing. I take
into consideration who the readers will be and how I can clearly communicate to them my view
points, with the intention of bettering their understanding. I intensely brainstorm and quickly begin
writing down random thoughts and ideas to develop the content for my draft. I outline my
introduction, content of writings and my conclusion based upon all that I created thus far. I would
say my primary strength in writing is sentence structure. I find that most

Teachers in high school were constantly trying to tell you how to write their way and perfect what
they thought was good writing. Little did I know everyone's writing style is good in its own way.
This academic writing class proved to me that no writing style is right or wrong, but instead all
writing styles have their own uniqueness and character to them. After reading the assigned articles
and analyzing the writing process and other topics discussed in this class, I now see writing as an
extraordinary process that is different for everyone. After writing papers and getting feedback, I saw
where my writing lacked solid evidence in my rhetorical analysis paper, and I also found certain
ways I can write more efficiently in my process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What helped me analyze this was Carol Berkenkotter and Donald Murray's analysis of the writing
process. Donald Murray was analyzed for two months in his everyday life and they analyzed how
the environment he was in when writing affected his writing outcomes. The importance of the
audience when editing was highlighted in one of the final paragraphs and I did not realize the
importance of the audience really until I looked back and thought about my writing. Even going
back to junior high writing, your audience was the teacher, and your goal was to write to the
teacher's specifications. Writing is more than just sitting down and writing a dull essay. Even if it is
not the first thought in your head you still have to know your affordances, constraints, and audience
in order to write effectively and edit to the best of your ability. Going into this course I was afraid
my writing style would not be good enough, or up to par with the writing style of a professor for a
college writing class. The first paper I composed this semester was a rhetorical analysis paper in
which I analyzed the rhetor, the audience, the exigence, affordances, and constraints. If you would
have asked me what most of those terms meant last year at this time I would have given you a blank
stare. After reading the articles from Keith Grant–Davie, Christina Haas and Linda Flower, and
Laura Carroll, my eyes were opened to what rhetorical

Process
In my process of writing, I needed a lot of creativity, energy and time to form a final draft of my
essays. That includes drafting, revising, editing all the way to rewriting until I feel confident enough
to turn in my final piece. In Merritt Writing PLO, process is described as, "Demonstrate thorough
engagement with the iterative processes of reading, writing, and speaking". I have had the
opportunity to involving with activities such as reading articles, writing different genre of essays,
conference feedback, revision reflection as well as completing multiple journal articles. Before I
begin my essay, we always have a brainstorm as a class on possible topics we could write on our
essays. The first essay was about narrative, I didn't have conference with professor but I did get

Like in my essay 3, the prompt was to write about a definition, I had a hard time picking a word to
start out my essay. But after listening and observing to other classmates ideas, I had some vision on
what I want to write. Also reading articles from Norton Sampler and weekly journals helped me on
my process of my essay. For example from week ten and eleven, I did a weekly journal on different
authors' perspective on the world and the word "empathy". I got to see different views on the same
word and writing choice/style to help me get start on my essay.
For essays two and three I had a conference with Professor Winek to get some advise on how my
essay is doing. She gave me great guides on which part I needed to add more and which part I
needed to fix. After the conference with the professor, I filled out a conference feedback form. It is
just to remind myself on what I needed to improve on my essay and how confident I was on my
piece after and before meeting with Professor Winek. I went back in to my essay and revised some

Writing Skills Process Analysis
Within English 219, we have already learned a vital set of writing skills, that will allow for the
improvement of essays, and summaries that must be written for future assessments. Some of these
skills that would be relevant for achieving general writing improvement could be ideas such as
thesis development, structuring and planning, or more specific examples when actually fleshing out
the essay such as elements of grammar and style. Thesis development which is crucial so that ideas
can be fully explained and related back to a point which can be interpreted as an overarching theme
for the entire paper, and allows the reader to interpret the topic of not only the essay but of each
paragraph. Taking a step back we looked in class at the subject ... Show more content on

Voice was the main stylistic element that we discussed in class, and it is the role of voice that allows
for the flow of the paper to remain constant and the reader to remain engaged within a paper.
Without proper voice, the paper can be confusing to the reader and creates issues of flow while
reading the article of work, even worse is the mixing of voices which causes mass disorganization
and causes a piece of work to be hard to interpret and comprehend. Within our entire English class
so far, even though it has only been a short few weeks, we have invested time into learning crucial
techniques to improve writing for academic purposes. Whether this writing be that of planning out
major writing assignments in advance with inkshedding and outlining, our designing a thesis so that
one's ideas can be properly developed within a paper. Another aspect we have learned it how to
properly convey style elements within a paper such as voice as to allow the flow for the reader to be
constant and avoid interruption. Together these ideas of planning, thesis development, and elements
of style allow for an essay to be powerful and consistent within the realm of

The Writing Process Analysis
The writing process is separated into five different stages, prewriting, drafting, editing, revising, and
publishing. When going throughout this process I feel that it is important to check your progress
quite frequently. After you complete each stage of the writing process it is always acceptable to
proofread and if need be, edit your work. There are certain questions you may ask yourself as you
undergo composing an essay, novel, or legal piece of work. For example, in the first stage of the
writing process, prewriting, you can ask yourself how and what you will be disputing. Also at this
point you can get opinions from various individuals about the topic of your essay. Stage two,
drafting, is where your thoughts begin to come together.

Peer Revision Process Analysis
While playing lacrosse at Woodward, we were encouraged to constructively call out our teammates
in practice or during film when they made mistakes. Even though this concept may seem as if it
would breed hostility within the team, we were able to improve more on an individual level while
coming closer as a team. By the end of the season, if I made a mistake and was not called out on it, I
was almost insulted. Caring about how we all practiced and played brought the team together as we
all found it comforting to be surrounded by people who want us to improve and be successful.
Likewise, the peer revision process was the calling out process I had grown accustomed to while
playing lacrosse. I would read through all of the peer reviewers papers ensuring that the paper
flowed well from paragraph to paragraph through relative context and use of transitions. I also
focused on the unity of each paragraph and the paper as a whole. I always included ideas that the
author could expand on throughout his drafts so that it would be easier for him to reach his required
word count.
On this paper, the author's use of the 5 senses was very strong when he first described his tool box.

proper way of organizing the paper so that his arguments and the counter arguments he presented
would still flow. Although I was encouraging him to delete some sections of the paper and focus
more deeply on only a few, I did encourage him to expand on the problem with marijuana arrests.
This subject could be expanded upon for days such as the amount of money the government spends
on finding the drug rings and raiding stash houses. Often times, the simpler and more to the point

Study Skills Process Analysis
In class we have learned skills on how to be an active note taker and studier. I have learned in the
past ways to do both; however, the ideas presented were very good ways for some people.
Throughout this essay, I will discuss how to study effectively as well as how to take notes
effectively. I will also what changes I have made to my routine for both. Note taking is an incredibly
valuable skill, because with taking notes, you have nothing to reference when you are studying. One
good way to take notes is by writing down keywords and follow them with brief descriptions. This
strategy works well because you do not get lost in a mess of information when studying. Another
strategy is drawing a picture of what it makes you think of, so that when you see the picture it will
have the info attached to it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My personal favorite is to use flash cards. Flashcards are just a form of word association, when you
see or hear certain words you immediately start to think of something other than that word. For
example, if you say dessert, I think of Apple Pie, then ice cream. Studying with word association
works the same way, so if I say President, I think of the current president and the powers of the
president. Another way to study effectively is to reward yourself for learning a set of information.
For example, when I finish a chapter of note taking and I know the chapter, I watch an episode of
Parks and Recreation. This way you take a little break as well as doing what you like to do.
Studying this way allows studying to become less of a

"The most difficult and complicated part of the writing process it the beginning." –A B Yehoshua. I
have been through a multitude of writing assignments and projects throughout my college career,
and I can say that beginning them has always been the hardest thing for me to do. There are many
that I don't remember but, those that I do, are the ones that have influenced my writing technique the
most. Some assignments and projects have influenced my writing while working through them,
while others I learned from mistakes by eating the dust of a bad grade due to grammatical errors, or
poor planning. Both of which, have shaped me to be the writer I am today. There are many

Reading And Writing Process Analysis
The opening line of my first version of the assignment "I as a Writer" was "I do not excel in
writing..." and after revising and peer editing it becomes apparent. However, learning about
transitions and using interpretation helped me to write a final draft that I am pleased with. Changing
the order in which I gave the information was the first thing I changed from my rough draft to the
final. My first version had the evidence for my reading and writing skills first. Then the connection
between reading and writing was used as a conclusion. In the final I switched it by using the
information about the connection of reading and writing first, followed by the evidence, and then
the interpretation. This new way of organizing the evidence made much

Rough Draft Process Analysis
When beginning to write an essay everyone has their own method of doing so. Some may like to
brainstorm while others may prefer to go straight into writing about their topic. I personally
beginning every essay by collecting ideas about my topic before coordinating them into a type of
diagram, next I proceed to do my rough draft before revising over the paper and finally composing
my final draft. The point of the writing process is to help break everything down so ideas can be
organized and everything can make perfect sense for not just the writer but also the reader.
Writing an essay can be difficult if a person does not know how or where to begin. I personally
believe the first step of writing is to list down ideas about the topic. After ... Show more content on

Proofreading and revising is a very crucial step in the writing process. If a person does not proofread
then the essay they worked on may not make sense and may overall confuse the reader. Using
correct punctuation shows how sentences are supposed to be read. Once I have made sure all my
sentences are grammatically correct I then compose my final copy of the essay. Writing can be
difficult if not done correctly. That is why there is a writing process to follow. Using some type of
way to group ideas together help coordinate how the essay will go. Then once the ideas are put
together the rough draft can be formed and edited. After everything has been writing accordantly the
essay can then be turned in. Some may think the writing process is just some more additional steps
to getting their essay done but overall it makes the writing experience easier and more

Right To Due Process Analysis
Right to due process for government employees exists when the employee has a property interest.
The legislation requires that every employee is given a fair procedural process before they get fired
if the reason for being fired relates to a property right. However, the government has set guidelines
that guide the termination in such a case. An employee is deemed to have a property interest in his
or her job if the employee has a reasonable expectation to be in that job in future. The property right
is not in the constitution, but they stem from rules or gentlemen agreement from an independent
source such as state law (Bajo, 2015). The following also can guarantee an employee the property

My Writing Process Analysis
The writing process takes different shapes and sizes for every person. No two people write the exact
same way, but describing my writing style can help others to see some basic patterns. Personally,
overcoming distractions to find the motivation to start assignments is the hardest part, followed
closely by attempting to keep myself on track. I also have several repeated, or recursive, tendencies
throughout my process. In the end, it all comes together into one circular system, in a similar
fashion to eating dinner at a dining court. Many steps of the writing process came together when I

Certain things happen every time I go, such as getting a table; some things only happen
occasionally, like getting salad or dessert; and some steps are repeated, like getting a drink. For me,
getting a salad is a lot like pre–writing and drafting because it is the first course in a meal, but it also
can be skipped without too many problems. Claiming a table comes next, which I think is like
writing because it is something that happens without fail every time I have a writing assignment,
and every time I eat dinner, I am sitting at a table. Next, I remember to go grab a drink, usually
Powerade. Getting a drink correlates with revising and editing because the first time I revise and
edit is somewhere in the middle of my writing, and then it happens again at the end when I finish,
which is about when I would have an empty glass needing a refill. The next part of the process is
dessert, which is optional, and related to gathering feedback. It's satisfying when it happens, but it is
not essential to success or to a good meal. As a final note, procrastination corresponds to every time

Capella University Writing Process Analysis
What is a writing process?
The Capella University writing process includes four main parts. First, there is a prewriting, which
allows the student to generate ideas of what the content of the assignment will be (Capella
University, 2017). This step creates the audience and the purpose of the assignment. The next step is
drafting the assignment, which allows the student to document the evidence that supports the main
ideas (Capella University, 2017). This step is important because it helps determine if the evidence
presented strongly supports the topic. The next step of the writing process is revising, which allows
the student to make changes that will strengthen the content of the assignment (Capella University,
2017). Revising is another important step that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Based on the Capella University writing process, the steps includes the student analyzing the
audience to help determine the purpose of the paper. Therefore, the writing process does not differ
because the same steps will still be use in creating the assignment. The important piece that will be
different is the type of research and evidence used to support the main ideas within the paper. This
information will provide support to the audience to ensure that the main purpose of the paper is
clearly understood.
What elements of the process are you familiar with and what elements do you need to explore
further?
Within the past eight weeks, I have realized my strengths and weaknesses within the writing
process. I have realized that I do not utilize the first step within the writing process of prewriting.
However, for the drafting, revising, and polishing steps of the writing process, I am very familiar
and use additional resources to strengthen the writing assignment. I create multiple drafts, which
includes revising and polishing in each step. Therefore, I use all three of these steps in multiple
drafts as I reach the final product for

How to Efficiently Write an Essay
Writing an essay can be a frustrating, exasperating process, but it doesn't have to be. If you know the
steps and methods, the rest should be an easy task. Find a subject you care about, and which you
think others will enjoy reading it. Find the most seductive language and style that will captivate the

To begin with, it is an optimum idea to start with a heavy research on the topic being dissected. By
doing so, you will become an expert on the subject and ideas will smoothly be elaborated in the
mind. Therefore, utilize the internet, academic resources, and the library. Take notes and immerse in

Without success there is no business. The goal for any organization is be successful. In order to be a
successful business, it is essential to explore the use of process management functions within the
operations management (OM) processes. Nissan, like most companies, has had their high and low
moments. Fortunately, they have been able to explore the use of process management functions to
help reach their goals and keep their business successful. Nissan has used the five steps associated
with Theory of Constraints (TOC ) and Total Quality Management (TQM) tools to help improve
quality overall within the business. Nissan has also been able to analyze data through cause–and–

new products and future expansions.
Theory of Constraints (TOC) is a group of data that deals with something that may limit or constrain
a business's ability to achieve their goals (Linton, 2016). TOC is the idea that the weakest link will
be the strongest you can be and when you improve the weakest link you will improve the process
overall. The key to improving the constraint or the weakest link is to be able to recognize and

To make matters even more confusing, there are those within the Business Analyst community who
have begun to distinguish between business analysts who focus on defining software requirements
and those business analysts who are focused on improving business processes. SAP, for example,
has set up a website1 for Business Process eXperts (BPXs), a group of analysts with more extensive
business process capabilities.
This vagueness between BA and BPM roles creates confusion in practice and academia, which
impacts on role designs, skills assessment, human resource development, recruitment and
professional development. The impact of such was made clear at a Leonardo Process Days 2010
conference panel where BA and BPM role differentiation was reviewed. An outcome of this
discussion was a consensus that i) Practitioners struggle to recognise and articulate the skills

Academics fail to position BA and BPM as separate professions and often bundle them as the same

creating the résumé, job searching, and the interview. following these few key steps will increase the
chances of you getting that career. To acquire a career, first you need to write a résumé. A résumé is

My Pre-Writing Process Analysis
My usual method for writing an essay made it hard for me to start and actually continue into writing
it. I would first start out and open a word document; Then, I would try and figure out how I was
going to write the entire paper in my head, which made it really difficult sometimes. Starting the
essay was definitely my worst enemy because I didn't know what to start with or how to go about
most papers. My method has changed since this class. I always knew what an outline was but now I
have implemented it into my pre–writing. Before, I write I try to make an outline of all of the topics
that will go into the essay. After, the outline is finished, the biggest lesson I've learned to get my
paper started is to simply start typing. It doesn't matter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was also one of the most fun essays because I got to try to write a poem. I have never really tried
to write a poem but always admired them. It was challenging in the fact because I really wanted my
poem to rhyme. It took me thirty minutes to come up with about ten short lines for a poem. It was a
long time to think about the rhymes I was going to use but it was challenging and fun for me. The
easiest essay I wrote in this class was also very enjoyable. It was my essay about the golf
tournament I went to. I included sensory details into it and hoped to bring people's attention to my
writing through it. I enjoyed the essay a lot because it was a true story on a great experience I had in
a golf tournament. The activities that assisted me in preparing for each essay were simply an outline.
Although, I'm not sure if randomly typing to start an essay would qualify for an activity, it helped
me a lot. The outline was very helpful for me to understand how my essay was going to be written. I
can't remember what activities that were not helpful because I don't remember using any other ones

In the case of Image Recognition the concept of clustering can be applied to identify the clusters in
handwritten character recognition systems. Many applications of clustering are also found in Web
search. Clustering can be utilized to organize the query results in groups and present the outcomes in
a concise and effectively available way. We can distinguish and sparse regions in object space by
automated clustering and from that we can find general interesting correlations and overall
distribution patterns among data attributes. Cluster analysis has been broadly utilized as a part of
various applications, like market research, pattern recognition, data analysis, and image processing.
In business, clustering can offer marketers some assistance with discovering distinct groups in their
client bases and portray client groups taking into account the purchasing patterns. In science, it can
be utilized to determine plant and animal scientific categorizations, order qualities with similar
functionality, and addition knowledge into structures inborn in populations. For the identification of
the same land use in the earth observation database we use clustering. It can also be used for finding
groups of houses in a city based on the house type, value and the geographic location. It will be
helpful in identifying the groups of the policy holders with the highest average claim cost of the
automobile insurance.

Personal Communication Process Analysis

  • 1. Personal Communication Process Analysis Describe the steps you took to get to your finished communication product, and explain how these steps were helpful. This journal entry will be my final entry for this class. I have enjoyed this class, as well as learned many useful tools that will assist me in my career choice, as well as in general. I am usually late with writing papers, as well as finals because I am anxious about the actual 'getting started' process but once I start writing, it seems to flow. This is a problem that I am working on; therefore, I am a 'work in progress' in this area. However, when I started our final project in week one, as it was the discussion topic, I feel more confident about this final paper, as well as less anxious about the writing process. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I need to know if I am not on the same page as everyone else. However, I rarely get feedback from my classmates, this happens in all my classes, for some unknown reason. I assume it is because I write so much and no one wants to read and respond. My Instructor responded and gave me feedback (thanks!), which helped me to make any necessary changes to my project. I cannot imagine having to look for illustrations, learning to insert them in Word, researching for facts to support my current knowledge about wound care, as well as the proper hand washing technique. I remember in my last class, we talked about the "Bay of Pigs"; this short clip discusses where several smart men (JFK and others) met together to decide what to do about the missiles in Cuba, and then made the decision to invade Cuba. These men did not ask for a 'less than geniuses individual's opinion, and proceeded to invade Cuba. This was a huge mistake. I said this to say, we all need to ask others opinion in public matters, such as in advertising, films, political speeches, and the ingredient of a healthcare lesson plans, as they can be crucial to others' health and vitality. Therefore, I cannot prepare a professional lesson plan overnight! Hence, I am glad that I learned how to work on a paper in sections, as well as email it to a coworker for advice during my preparation, as to make sure I am on the right page and for constructive criticism. In my new field of Applied Behavioral Science, I plan to work with children who have been involved with abuse; however, with my experience in substance abuse, as well as my knowledge in this area, I may end up in that field. We all tend to lean toward something that we know, instead of learning something new. Regardless of the career field chosen, I will need to prepare lesson plans to teach individuals ... • 2. Essay Writing Process Analysis Using the four steps in essay writing will help you make your essay a better paper to read (Bethel University, 2014). By having a point, supportive evidence, organized with specific evidence, and write sentences clear and free of errors. Summarize the information you learned about The Four Steps in Essay Writing. What I have learned in essay writing is first you want to ensure you have a point or thesis (Bethel University, 2014). This is so you can develop a single idea the readers can understand. You want to write statements and ensure you that the topic is easy to discuss. The second step I learned is; while writing, my essay needs to be specific with the evidence (Bethel University, 2014). Using specific details by putting them in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. My Writing Process Analysis My approach, and Chapter 2's ideas, for writing a draft are somewhat similar in many aspects. Prior to beginning my draft, I organize myself and determine what has to completed based upon the specifics provided to me in my assignment. I analyze my subject and purpose for my writing. I take into consideration who the readers will be and how I can clearly communicate to them my view points, with the intention of bettering their understanding. I intensely brainstorm and quickly begin writing down random thoughts and ideas to develop the content for my draft. I outline my introduction, content of writings and my conclusion based upon all that I created thus far. I would say my primary strength in writing is sentence structure. I find that most ... • 4. Process Analysis Reflection Teachers in high school were constantly trying to tell you how to write their way and perfect what they thought was good writing. Little did I know everyone's writing style is good in its own way. This academic writing class proved to me that no writing style is right or wrong, but instead all writing styles have their own uniqueness and character to them. After reading the assigned articles and analyzing the writing process and other topics discussed in this class, I now see writing as an extraordinary process that is different for everyone. After writing papers and getting feedback, I saw where my writing lacked solid evidence in my rhetorical analysis paper, and I also found certain ways I can write more efficiently in my process ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What helped me analyze this was Carol Berkenkotter and Donald Murray's analysis of the writing process. Donald Murray was analyzed for two months in his everyday life and they analyzed how the environment he was in when writing affected his writing outcomes. The importance of the audience when editing was highlighted in one of the final paragraphs and I did not realize the importance of the audience really until I looked back and thought about my writing. Even going back to junior high writing, your audience was the teacher, and your goal was to write to the teacher's specifications. Writing is more than just sitting down and writing a dull essay. Even if it is not the first thought in your head you still have to know your affordances, constraints, and audience in order to write effectively and edit to the best of your ability. Going into this course I was afraid my writing style would not be good enough, or up to par with the writing style of a professor for a college writing class. The first paper I composed this semester was a rhetorical analysis paper in which I analyzed the rhetor, the audience, the exigence, affordances, and constraints. If you would have asked me what most of those terms meant last year at this time I would have given you a blank stare. After reading the articles from Keith Grant–Davie, Christina Haas and Linda Flower, and Laura Carroll, my eyes were opened to what rhetorical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. My Writing Process Analysis Process In my process of writing, I needed a lot of creativity, energy and time to form a final draft of my essays. That includes drafting, revising, editing all the way to rewriting until I feel confident enough to turn in my final piece. In Merritt Writing PLO, process is described as, "Demonstrate thorough engagement with the iterative processes of reading, writing, and speaking". I have had the opportunity to involving with activities such as reading articles, writing different genre of essays, conference feedback, revision reflection as well as completing multiple journal articles. Before I begin my essay, we always have a brainstorm as a class on possible topics we could write on our essays. The first essay was about narrative, I didn't have conference with professor but I did get some brainstorming ideas on what I want to write ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like in my essay 3, the prompt was to write about a definition, I had a hard time picking a word to start out my essay. But after listening and observing to other classmates ideas, I had some vision on what I want to write. Also reading articles from Norton Sampler and weekly journals helped me on my process of my essay. For example from week ten and eleven, I did a weekly journal on different authors' perspective on the world and the word "empathy". I got to see different views on the same word and writing choice/style to help me get start on my essay. For essays two and three I had a conference with Professor Winek to get some advise on how my essay is doing. She gave me great guides on which part I needed to add more and which part I needed to fix. After the conference with the professor, I filled out a conference feedback form. It is just to remind myself on what I needed to improve on my essay and how confident I was on my piece after and before meeting with Professor Winek. Writing Skills Process Analysis Within English 219, we have already learned a vital set of writing skills, that will allow for the improvement of essays, and summaries that must be written for future assessments. Some of these skills that would be relevant for achieving general writing improvement could be ideas such as thesis development, structuring and planning, or more specific examples when actually fleshing out the essay such as elements of grammar and style. Voice was the main stylistic element that we discussed in class, and it is the role of voice that allows for the flow of the paper to remain constant and the reader to remain engaged within a paper. • 7. The Writing Process Analysis The writing process is separated into five different stages, prewriting, drafting, editing, revising, and publishing. When going throughout this process I feel that it is important to check your progress quite frequently. After you complete each stage of the writing process it is always acceptable to proofread and if need be, edit your work. There are certain questions you may ask yourself as you undergo composing an essay, novel, or legal piece of work. For example, in the first stage of the writing process, prewriting, you can ask yourself how and what you will be disputing. Also at this point you can get opinions from various individuals about the topic of your essay. Stage two, drafting, is where your thoughts begin to come together. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Peer Revision Process Analysis While playing lacrosse at Woodward, we were encouraged to constructively call out our teammates in practice or during film when they made mistakes. Even though this concept may seem as if it would breed hostility within the team, we were able to improve more on an individual level while coming closer as a team. By the end of the season, if I made a mistake and was not called out on it, I was almost insulted. Caring about how we all practiced and played brought the team together as we all found it comforting to be surrounded by people who want us to improve and be successful. Likewise, the peer revision process was the calling out process I had grown accustomed to while playing lacrosse. I would read through all of the peer reviewers papers ensuring that the paper flowed well from paragraph to paragraph through relative context and use of transitions. I also focused on the unity of each paragraph and the paper as a whole. I always included ideas that the author could expand on throughout his drafts so that it would be easier for him to reach his required word count. On this paper, the author's use of the 5 senses was very strong when he first described his tool box. He set his paper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 10. Study Skills Process Analysis In class we have learned skills on how to be an active note taker and studier. I have learned in the past ways to do both; however, the ideas presented were very good ways for some people. Throughout this essay, I will discuss how to study effectively as well as how to take notes effectively. I will also what changes I have made to my routine for both. Note taking is an incredibly valuable skill, because with taking notes, you have nothing to reference when you are studying. One good way to take notes is by writing down keywords and follow them with brief descriptions. This strategy works well because you do not get lost in a mess of information when studying. Another strategy is drawing a picture of what it makes you think of, so that when you see the picture it will have the info attached to it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Studying with word association works the same way, so if I say President, I think of the current president and the powers of the president. Another way to study effectively is to reward yourself for learning a set of information. I have been through a multitude of writing assignments and projects throughout my college career, and I can say that beginning them has always been the hardest thing for me to do. There are many that I don't remember but, those that I do, are the ones that have influenced my writing technique the most. Some assignments and projects have influenced my writing while working through them, while others I learned from mistakes by eating the dust of a bad grade due to grammatical errors, or poor planning. However, learning about transitions and using interpretation helped me to write a final draft that I am pleased with. Changing the order in which I gave the information was the first thing I changed from my rough draft to the final. My first version had the evidence for my reading and writing skills first. • 13. Rough Draft Process Analysis When beginning to write an essay everyone has their own method of doing so. Some may like to brainstorm while others may prefer to go straight into writing about their topic. I personally beginning every essay by collecting ideas about my topic before coordinating them into a type of diagram, next I proceed to do my rough draft before revising over the paper and finally composing my final draft. The point of the writing process is to help break everything down so ideas can be organized and everything can make perfect sense for not just the writer but also the reader. The legislation requires that every employee is given a fair procedural process before they get fired if the reason for being fired relates to a property right. An employee is deemed to have a property interest in his or her job if the employee has a reasonable expectation to be in that job in future. No two people write the exact same way, but describing my writing style can help others to see some basic patterns. Personally, overcoming distractions to find the motivation to start assignments is the hardest part, followed closely by attempting to keep myself on track. I also have several repeated, or recursive, tendencies throughout my process. In the end, it all comes together into one circular system, in a similar fashion to eating dinner at a dining court. Certain things happen every time I go, such as getting a table; some things only happen occasionally, like getting salad or dessert; and some steps are repeated, like getting a drink. For me, getting a salad is a lot like pre–writing and drafting because it is the first course in a meal, but it also can be skipped without too many problems. Claiming a table comes next, which I think is like writing because it is something that happens without fail every time I have a writing assignment, and every time I eat dinner, I am sitting at a table. Next, I remember to go grab a drink, usually Powerade. Getting a drink correlates with revising and editing because the first time I revise and edit is somewhere in the middle of my writing, and then it happens again at the end when I finish, which is about when I would have an empty glass needing a refill. The next part of the process is dessert, which is optional, and related to gathering feedback. It's satisfying when it happens, but it is not essential to success or to a good meal. First, there is a prewriting, which allows the student to generate ideas of what the content of the assignment will be (Capella University, 2017). This step creates the audience and the purpose of the assignment. The next step is drafting the assignment, which allows the student to document the evidence that supports the main ideas (Capella University, 2017). This step is important because it helps determine if the evidence presented strongly supports the topic.
